Swedish Gothenburg-based melodic death metal band SAILOR HUNTER released their self titled EP on May 19th 2022 via Inverse Records. To celebrate the release, also a new music video ‘Life’ is released and it can be seen below.

The band comments the tracks on EP:

“This EP is about Death, Addiction, Love and Broken dreams. A true story.

1. COMMENCE
-The beginning of everything

2. SCARRED
-To see what’s left of a person’s body after the end in the most violent way. When the remains are put in a black trash bag and to relive it in your dreams forever. That’s your mind that is scarred.

3. LIFE
-Trying to find meaning in the past and use the wrongs as instructions of what not to do in the future. To be able to function in this life.

4. ALONE
-To follow your dreams sometimes breaks your heart and spirit. Failing is a lonely struggle and people seem to find joy in other people’s failure.

5. ICON
-Sometimes love gets you, you feel you deserve it the least. “

Celebrating over 25 years of metal mastery, chart-topping icons EVERGREY have unveiled their eagerly longed for, thirteenth full-length, A Heartless Portrait (The Orphean Testament), today! To commemorate this massive next milestone in the band’s history, Gothenburg’s dark metal masters have just released their emotive, mystical new single, “Call Out the Dark” – a heartfelt sonic experience that wanders the realms of prog and melodic metal to combine the best of both worlds into one.

“Call Out the Dark” begins atmospherically with accented keys and suddenly evolves into an intense opus of symphonic and power metal attributes in the blink of an eye. The track goes in line with an enchanting visualizer, underlining the spirit of the band the best way. This one is not to be missed in this breathtaking bunch of new hits!

EVERGREY state:
“We are so just so damn proud of this record, guys, and we are just as excited that you will finally get to hear it! We will let the music do the talking and leave you to it, but we can’t wait to hear what you feel and think!
Enjoy!
Tom, Jonas, Rikard, Johan, Rikard”

A Heartless Portrait (The Orphean Testament), the follow-up to the unit’s highly successful 2021 full-length, Escape of the Phoenix (which landed at numerous chart positions worldwide), reveals a 10 track mélange of which every note, every riff and every word seeps pure poetry – creating a ceaseless intensity that mesmerizes from the very first second.

The new album was recorded at Top Floor Studios Gothenburg, engineered by Jakob Herrman and   produced by Tom S. Englund and Jonas Ekdahl, with mixing and mastering by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios (Volbeat, Destruction, Epica and many more), whereas the hauntingly beautiful album artwork was conjured by Giannis Nakos at Remedy Art Design. Nakos is known for creating artworks for acts like Oceans Of Slumber, Amaranthe, The Agonist and The Crown as well as merchandise for Morbid Angel, Suffocation or Cryptopsy – just to name a few.

EVERGREY on the new album:
“Here it is! A new album! Yet again! This is what we love about music, it never ends! Our mission is to write music so here you are! 10 new songs! 10 new EVERGREY songs that we hope you will have by your side as your life continues to shift and grow. 10 songs that we wish will be part of the soundtrack when you’re creating new memories and new possibilities in your life. 10 songs that we feel privileged to have you listen to. 10 songs that have risen through the ashes of two years where our creativity has had more time than ever to flourish.

10 songs we really hope you will enjoy as much as we did writing them. As usual we have given it our best and we can’t wait to hear what you have to say! A new year, a new album, a new record label = new possibilities. All this can only be positive, right?”

Mighty dinosaurs fight to protect mankind from being enslaved by the ninja warriors as German space warriors VICTORIUS enter the next round of their ongoing battle against the evil space ninja clan, Sunbladers! Today, they are joined by a “Mighty Magic Mammoth” to fight for the good of all humanity. The track features an epic soundscape, as well as powerful drums, guitar riffs and strong vocals that lead to an anthemic chorus. With their forces combined, the dinosaurs continue their mission to save the human race!

Along with the song, VICTORIUS present an exciting official music video set in the snowy landscape in which the “Mighty Magic Mammoth” has proudly roamed since being awakened from a deep, icy slumber by a fiery comet crashing to earth! “Mighty Magic Mammoth” is cut from the band’s upcoming full-length, Dinosaur Warfare Pt. 2 – The Great Ninja War, to be released via Napalm Records on June 24, 2022.

VICTORIUS on “Mighty Magic Mammoth”:
“Mighty Dinosaurriors! We´re proud to introduce you to a new creature of our epic, prehistoric, intergalactic story! The Mighty Magic Mammoth! A mystical giant, frozen in the eternal ice for thousands of years! But now, when mankind faces a new threat, the Mammoth returns from its slumber released by a magic comet made of cosmic steel! If this isn´t cheesy enough for you, you´re not worthy! So have fun and enjoy our NEW SONG!”

Dinosaur Warfare Pt. 2 – The Great Ninja War sets off with a monumental introduction as it flows into “Victorious Dinogods”. The track initiates battle with relentless power metal as the mighty dinogods resurrect to protect mankind against the space ninja attack. Luckily, the dinogods don’t stand alone, as they are proudly joined in battle by the “Mighty Magic Mammoth”, awakened by a fiery comet. But wait, there are more brothers-in-arms (and songs) on their way – like “Jurassic Jetfighters”, “Triceps Ceratops” and “Tyrannosaurus Steel”. The three join forces to fight the ninjas and their fearsome dragon, as fabled on smashing track “Dinos and Dragons”, spiced with an intense guitar solo praising the tradition of speed metal with a remarkable virtuosity. A foreshadowing of what’s to come when the ninjas take command is described with “Katana Kingdom Rising”, setting off with stomping drums that lead to an anthemic chorus. Strong symphonic elements are witnessed on “God of Roar” as well as on the powerful track “Night of the Nuclear Ninja”, which tells the story of the space ninjas transforming into even deadlier, nuclear versions of themselves. This is when another grand figure joins the fold: the giant “Powerzord”, a mighty robot lord, who comes to the aid of the dinosaurs in battle with the aim of finally freeing mankind from the space ninja threat. Will the dinos and their brave supporters manage to prevent the nuclear ninja kingdom from rising? Find out on Dinosaur Warfare Pt. 2 – The Great Ninja War – a roaring good time for all!

VICTORIUS on Dinosaur Warfare Pt. 2 – The Great Ninja War:
“Mighty Dinosaurriors! Get ready for the next chapter of our epic quest! Dinosaur Warfare Pt. 2 – The Great Ninja War is nothing more than the most ambitious album we´ve ever made. 12 songs full of speed, melodies, hooks and epic-ness! Together with producer Lars Rettkowitz we’ve created the soundtrack for an intergalactic Power Metal adventure you can´t escape from. The war rages on! Choose your side!”

96 BITTER BEINGS (Ex-CKY) Join Nuclear Blast & Announce Tour

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 21, 2022

Revered Los Angeles rock band 96 BITTER BEINGS has officially joined Nuclear Blast! Formed in 2016 by ex-CKY founder, vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Deron Miller, the band plans to release, “Synergy Restored,” their long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s widely praised debut “Camp Pain,” later this year. In the meantime, they’ll be hitting the road with HOWLING GIANT this summer performing their first shows in years.

Commenting on the signing to Nuclear Blast, Miller states:

“Nuclear Blast has always been the most personable label I’ve ever worked with. They stuck around and persevered through all of the hard times that hit heavy rock and metal over the years. They’re still here because they always put their love of what they do ahead of scrounging around frantically to make a quick buck. I have 27 years behind me working with various labels, major and independent, and they’re all gone. The people are gone. Nuclear has been the  only constant. Passion, perseverance and refusing defeat are the keys to longevity in anything you do, so that makes us the perfect match. The band and I are thrilled to be working with rock and metal heads I’ve known and respected for decades… Still just as hungry, ambitious and excited to see what the future holds as we are.”

About 96 BITTER BEINGS:

Deron Miller gives his life to the riff. Unrestrained by industry expectations and genre limitations, the boundlessly prolific guitarist and voice behind multiple beloved projects is best known as the founder, frontman, and songwriter in CKY. His authentic and effortlessly hooky heavy rock obsession returns with 96 BITTER BEINGS. Reinvigorated and ready to rumble all over again, Miller roars back with the same reverence for riffage that made underground hits out of CKY anthems like “Flesh Into Gear,” “Escape from Hellview,” and “Disengage the Simulator” from 1998 till 2011.

The familiar warmth, feel, groove, and unapologetic honesty which drove the song “96 Quite Bitter Beings” to 54 million streams (on Spotify alone) permeates the pair of albums unleashed by 96BB.

A successful crowdfunding campaign saw Miller, guitarist Kenneth Hunter, bassist Shaun Luera and Shaun’s brother, drummer Tim, conjure up 2018’s “Camp Pain” in limited release. North American touring followed, wrapping up shortly before the COVID-19 shutdowns.

“After CKY and a short break, I decided to continue, without changing the sound,” Miller explains. “Because that’s what I do. It’s what I love to do and what people say I do well. All of the guys who got in the band with me are great musicians. And each of them is hungry. They have priorities and ambitions about being in a rock band, no matter the grim state of pop music out there. If we can bring rock and metal back to the mainstream, in some way, that’s the dream.”

96 BITTER BEINGS Lineup:
Deron Miller – Vocals/Guitar
Kenneth Hunter – Guitar
Shaun Luera – Bass
Tim Luera – Drums

LOST SOCIETY Announce New Album “If The Sky Came Down”, First Single + Video ‘112’ Unleashed

Only two years after their incredibly successful latest album “No Absolution”, Finnish modern metal squad LOST SOCIETY have come back ferociously with the first single from their upcoming manifesto “If The Sky Came Down”, which will be released on September 30th via Nuclear Blast.

Frontman Samy Elbanna shares some insights:

”The upcoming album is a portrayal of how you see the world after you have come to terms with the fact that all hope has been lost. A world where all your insecurities and worst fears come to life.
It’s my story, and “112” is where it all begins. It’s the moment you realise your life has started to unravel and you can finally be fully honest with yourself and admit: you’re not okay. There’s something incredibly purifying and serene about letting go, and finally starting to build something new. Since writing the lyrics and chorus to this song, it was clear that this was the first song people have to hear from the album.”

He continues:

“During the recording of the album, I had compiled a few different music video ideas that I really wanted to do for the album – and the synopsis that I had for 112 was just something we knew we HAD to do.
The AMAZING Vita Pictura team immediately grabbed the idea and supercharged it, and I think together we made something absolutely magical.
The music video depicts the whole theme of the album, and in particular the feeling talked about on the track itself. Going through a period in time where you feel as though you keep waking up in the exact same time, same place and same emotion without any help. You try to mess with your own “hell loop” but you just keep falling down and finding yourself back where you started.”

The fertile co-operation with producer and co-writer Joonas Parkkonen, which started on the previous album “No Absolution”, continues on this new masterpiece. They just found an incredible chemistry which created the most ambitious, versatile and innovative record of the bands career…so far.
