MisophoniA are a melodic metal act hailing from Glasgow Scotland. The group is heavily influenced by European melo-death acts such as Dark Tranquillity and At the Gates while showcasing some black metal and doom tendencies akin to the stylings of Satyricon, Primordial, Paradise lost and My Dying Bride. The Band formed back in 2017 and performed their first show in 2018, they went on to play a handful of shows alongside local Glasgow and Edinburgh acts as well as playing as opening support to Godthrymm.

2019 into 2020 saw the band going through a very rough transitional period due to sudden line-up departures in April of 2019. It took the band until 2020 to find suitable replacements complicated by the Covid 19 pandemic as well. The band prevailed and in the summer of 2020 MisophoniA were joined by Justin Laidlaw on Guitars and Kenneth Boyle on drums. The band then managed to compile a 5 track EP aptly titled New Beginnings which saw the band trying out a new sound and got the band back on the radar.

MisophoniA have gone from strength to strength, you could say it’s the bands resurrection. Now in 2022, the band are stronger than ever and are enjoying the newest fruits of their labour, the release El Silencio Será Eterno.

JOHNNY THUNDERS Releases New Single ‘Born to Lose’

Johnny Thunders single ‘Born to Lose’ is now available on all digital platforms and is taken from the upcoming live album; Cosa Nostra: Live At The Mudd Club 1983 Gothenburg.

‘Born to Lose’ is a staple punk song for the first generation of rebellious angst driven teens to connect too. The song is a slacker jam, with nihilistic lyrics on being a human being with low self-worth.

Johnny Thunders is a true punk rock legend. He shot to stardom as a founding member of the iconic NEW YORK DOLLS, but after a stint with the Dolls he went on to form his own band Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers.Thunders sadly lost his life in 1991 aged just 38, but his legacy lives on to this day. He was one of the true Godfathers of the US punk scene.

Born in Queens, NY in 1952, Johnny Thunders fell in love with rock ’n’ roll and turned his back on a potentially successful baseball career to start the legendary New York Dolls – the band that spawned hundreds of other hopeful rock ’n’ roll bands.

When the New York Dolls folded, JT and drummer Jerry Nolan went back to New York’s budding punk rock scene to start The Heartbreakers; an iconic band if there ever was one.

Their raw, wild and ‘dirty’ sound became engraved in the minds of all those young punks and it’s fair to say they were more than a major influence on the London punk scene.

Over the years, The Heartbreakers toured on and off and they always kept the magic from the early days. Everybody remembers ‘Chinese Rocks’, ‘Born to Lose’ and other gems embedded in our hearts and minds forever.

Solo, Johnny Thunders showed a vulnerable, deeply sensitive and poetic side to his rocker persona, with masterpieces like ‘Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory’, and ‘So Alone’.

Whatever his personal circumstances and demons he had to fight, he never lost his love for rock ’n’ roll or his unique personal sense of style or signature sound that influenced so many.

JT just can’t leave anyone indifferent which continues to this day, even after his untimely passing at age 38 in New Orleans.

Johnny Thunders and the Cosa Nostra performance is a full length recording from The Mudd Club in Gothenburg, Sweden on June 16, 1983.

Johnny Thunders and the Cosa Nostra were so influential that on this night, attendance was at capacity and the set was tight, playing iconic songs such as ‘Personality Crisis’, ‘Born To Lose’ and ‘These Boots are Made for Walking’.

National Napalm Syndicate was formed in 1986. After few line-up changes and couple of demos later they found themselves signing a major label deal with EMI / Capitol Records.

Djent Metal Veterans MYCELIA Announce New Narrative Concept Album with ‘The Beginning of A Long Hangover’ Video & Single

Swiss djent metal veterans MYCELIA have just revealed a new music video for their new single “The Beginning of a Long Hangover“, as well as announcing the availability of pre-orders for their upcoming LP album In a Late Country which is scheduled to be released on September 16, 2022 via Eclipse Records. The video was directed by Irvan Dionisi.

“What better way to give a first glimpse into a narrative concept album than with a lyric video?” says drummer Marc Trummer. “The Beginning of a Long Hangover offers a glance into In a Late Country’s twisting narrative by writer Sebastian Fanzun as well as impressions from the accompanying graphic novel. As the album opener, The Beginning of a Long Hangover kicks into high gear immediately… We meet the protagonist character of the story, Marvell. During a government evacuation program, Marvell is accused of murdering his girlfriend, Ava Kessler. While on the run from the police for a crime he didn’t commit, he turns to his friend Di Prisco, and the two of them decide to visit a local club called Fahrer’s where they think they may find the answers to Ava’s whereabouts. The song runs the gamut of the signature Mycelia blend of different genres within extreme metal music. Furthermore, the multimedia extravaganza of text, music, video and imagery appropriately sets the stage for the upcoming concept album.”

In A Late Country by Mycelia is a fifteen song post-apocalyptic djent metal concept album which tells the story of a young man trying to find his lost girlfriend during a government-controlled evacuation program to deal with an overpopulated city. The vocals throughout the album are the lines from the characters in the story, sung as if they were playing out in real time. While every song on the album tells a bit of the overall storyline, the singles highlight the most pivotal twists and turns of the plot. “The Beginning of a Long Hangover” sets the stage for the concept album, introducing the main character Marvell. We discover he is accused of murdering his girlfriend and he asks his friend Di Prisco for help to find out what really happened to her. After discovering Ava was seen with the member of a terrorist organization called the Ultrahydraulists, the second single “Towards the Melting Library” has Marvell and Di Prisco attempt to communicate with the Ultrahydraulists through the librarian named Al-Kitab. After finding out that Ava wasn’t really killed, but she left the city as a part of the evacuation program, Marvell follows a lead by visiting an address. In the third single which is entitled “In A Gas Station at the Outskirts of the Meth Desert“, he discovers the police commissioner who admits that the evacuation program doesn’t exist after all, and it is actually a ruse to cover for a government-controlled genocide to reduce the ever-growing numbers of an already overpopulated city.

WHEN RIVERS MEET are pleased to announce their new single I Can’t Fight This Feeling – released on Friday May 20th. This is the fourth single taken from their award-winning sophomore album Saving Grace, and follows the singles Testify, Never Coming Home and He’ll Drive You Crazy.

The single coincides with their UK headline tour which continues at their sold-out concert at The Deaf Institute in Manchester on Thursday May 19th.

The news follows WRM’s triumphant win at last night’s UK Blues Awards in London where they won three awards including “Blues Band of the Year”, “Blues Vocalist of the Year” (Grace Bond), and “Blues Album of the Year” (Saving Grace).

Saving Grace follows WRM’s critically acclaimed debut album We Fly Free that was released in November 2020, and their previous two EPs, The Uprising, and Innocence of Youth. The past two years have been a non-stop thrill-ride for WRM, who are comprised of Grace Bond (lead vocals, mandolin, violin) and Aaron Bond (guitar, vocals).

On their highly anticipated sophomore album Saving Grace, WRM have set out to produce a blues rock album with a more upbeat, punchy, and exciting sound.

IT WILL LAST – led by Simone Carnaghi, musician / teacher / composer multi-instrumentalist (bass, drums, guitar) from Milan, Italy – are pleased to present the Lyric video of “Global Warning”, the new single taken from the album “Nightmares in Daylight” released in September 2021, totally composed / arranged, played (all instruments and male choirs), recorded, mixed and mastered by Simone at his private Rock & Music studio in Milan.

It is a concept album that talks about some of the many aspects that are consuming the world we live in. The genre is a fusion of several ingredients ranging from classic metal, to progressive (and more), 80s sound with a production, deliberately different from today’s metal …”A blast from the past” in a personal way.
