Bulgarian GWENDYDD Share Music Video ‘Martyrdom’ from Brand New Album

In support of their second studio album, Censored, Sofia-based female fronted, extreme metal force GWENDYDD has just premiered a new music video for the blistering track “Martyrdom”! Censored is out today on Drakkar Entertainment and available at THIS LOCATION.

Their new video clip is now streaming here:

GWENDYDD has developed from an unusual perspective when it comes to the metal scene, as it all started at prime-time TV talent show “The Voice Of Bulgaria”. Pop starlet after pop starlet are giving their best to lull the audience with their favourite tearjerker. And then there is this innocent girly voice, performing Taylor Swift’s “Look what you made me do”. Both audience and jury feel safe and sound. Until the song reaches the first chorus. What happened then, shocked and electrified the studio audience and a whole country in front of their TVs. With her brutal and angst-inducing death metal growls she seems to be ripping apart the original US pop star and spitting her left-overs all over the studio interior. Shock and joy, curiosity and fear melt into ecstatic cheering and a hurricane of applause.

That girl’s name is Victoria Stoichkova and her performance quickly reached more than five million views on You Tube with a bursting comment section full of enthusiasm and cheering. This was the starting point of a career for sure, and what soon should become a full band and Europe’s next up-and-coming, extreme metal hopes GWENDYDD!

Formed in 2018 in Sofia, Bulgaria, and driven by a modern production, complemented by the mastering fingerprint of Max Morton (Jinjer, Ignea,..), the band‘s vibrant blend of wrecking guitar riffs and adrenalizing drums builds up to an extreme-metal avalanche. The perfect carrier for that brute death metal voice, which cuts deep into the flesh of modern society – not only with words but with a message.

In support of Censored, GWENDYDD will join DARK TRANQUILITY and ENSIFERUM as special guests kicking off this week, followed by a headlining tour in Europe. Make sure to catch GWENDYDD live at the following dates:

OCEANS OF SLUMBER Release Visualizer Video for ‘Hearts Of Stone’ from Upcoming Album

After releasing the first new single, “The Waters Rising”, in February, Texas-based New Southern Gothic outfit OCEANS OF SLUMBER present the next song taken from their upcoming album, “Starlight and Ash” , that is scheduled for a release July 22nd.

Check out an atmospheric Visualizer Video for “Hearts of Stone” HERE

Cammie Beverly (vocals) says about the song: “Lost and alone from birth, a product of the institution of life on the streets. Trouble follows this person around like a badge of honor. Grief finding grievances, the perfect formula of despair.”

“Starlight and Ash” was produced by Joel Hamilton (Violet Road, Battle of Mice) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Yes, Voivod). The stunning artwork was created by Eliran Kantor (Testament, Heaven Shall Burn and many more).

Fronted by the inimitable power, range, and grace of vocalist Cammie Beverly, “Starlight and Ash” posits OCEANS OF SLUMBER in a league of their own. This is as much eloquent extensions of famed singer-songwriters Nick Cave and Chris Stapleton as it is the heartbreaking pulse of Type O Negative and Katatonia. “Starlight and Ash” isn’t Metal, but its edges are.

Pre-order here.

LORNA SHORE Release First Song ‘Sun//Eater’ from Upcoming Album

For LORNA SHORE , 2020 was nothing short of a reckoning – in a career built on challenges, changes and a single-minded vision. For the New Jersey quintet 2020 signaled the pandemic and cancelled tours. The following year presented the band with a staggering creative challenge in the form of the song, “To the Hellfire” from their hugely well-regarded “…And I Return to Nothingness”-EP. Yet, through it all, they upped their sonic ante with their upcoming album, “Pain Remains”, that not only aligns with everything LORNA SHORE has hinted at but it also exceeds that – brutally and magnificently. “It feels like a rebirth of everything for us – the energy, the band, the morale,” says drummer Austin Archey.

LORNA SHORE shot the video clip with Loki Films at the end of their sold out UK tour in March and Will Ramos (vocals) has the following to say about the song: “We’re so happy so be able to put out something different and new that further exemplifies who we’ve become as individuals and as a whole. This song/album really brings together everything that we’ve been working towards being and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you all.”

“Pain Remains” is scheduled for a release in October and more info will unfold in due time.

May 20th 2022 will see the release of “Earthtorn“, the highly anticipated new studio album by Sayreville, New Jersey -based melodic doom metallers Drift Into Black. After the release of the first two singles “It Fell From The Sky” and “Weight Of Two Worlds“, the band has shared a brand new music video for the track “Angel Of Doom”.

Drift Into Black‘s upcoming concept album “Earthtorn” flows continuously, telling the story of the extinction of humankind seen through the eyes of an extraterrestrial visitor disguised as a human sent to mother earth to analyze our behavior and eventually deplete us of all our natural resources. He learns about our past and our experiences of war sickness. Love, loss, and death, he falls in love with a woman and is torn between his selfishness for her. He begins to question his willingness to carry out his mission. He gets to watch as his love slowly falls victim to the disease and starts to wither away. Day by day, she grows sicker and eventually passes away from cancer. His experience of love, sickness, loss, and death is for real now. He realizes that there is nothing good left on Earth throughout all the darkness. He informs his planet that there is nothing to be retained here on Earth and that he will be returning home, leaving the human race to its slow decay.

“Earthtorn” will be coming out on May 20th and is available for pre-order HERE

Tracklist:

1.Good Mourning Earth
2.It Fell From The Sky

4.Angel Of Doom
5.Ghost On The Shore
6.The Ups And The Downs
