ANGMODNES Sign with Black Lion Records And Announce New Album

Utrecht, Netherlands -based funeral doom metallers ANGMODNES have signed a worldwide record deal with Swedish label Black Lion Records, who will release the band’s upcoming full-length record on September 30th. “The Weight of Eternity” is Angmodnes’ first offering; an album in the works since 2013 and finally completed in 2022. Within its 36 minutes and 21-second runtime, it paints an utterly bleak and hopeless picture of one damned to live on forever, after everything and everyone has long since passed away. The doom laid upon this wretched soul can be seen metaphorically, as those who have lost any sense of attachment to this world and who are so far removed from life as to scarcely be able to think about anything other than death, are they not just as alone?

“The Weight of Eternity” offers three captivating tracks of pure funeral doom and is highly recommended for fans of Evoken, Frowning, Shape Of Despair and AHAB. Stunning artwork done by Simon Bossert.

The time has arrived! After 12 years of silence, death metal machine SEVERE TORTURE has returned with a brand new EP, ‘Fisting the Sockets!’ The band has teamed up with Death Metal Promotions to stream the record in its entirety before its release THIS Friday, June 10. Listen at THIS LOCATION.

In addition, the brutal death metal outfit will be performing in the United States on October 10 at the New Standard Elite Festival in Las Vegas, NV!

MOTORPSYCHO Announce New Album “Ancient Astronauts”

Bill Graham once said, “They aren’t the best at what they do, they are the only ones that do what they do” about The Dead, and no truer words have ever been written about Motorpsycho.

Following their latest two albums during the “Covid years”, The All is One (2020) and Kingdom of Oblivion (2021), MOTORPSYCHO has announced the release of Ancient Astronauts!  

The album was recorded in Amper Tone studio in Oslo in the summer of 2021. Since Covid was still making international travel very difficult, Stockholm-based Reine Fiske wasn’t in the studio with the three core Motorpsycho members, making this the first album in years that they recorded as a three-piece. Recorded mainly in live takes with only a few overdubs and the vocals added afterwards, this is essentially the band playing live in the studio. At times fairly frantic and angular yet grandiose and hypnotic, this is a very explorative offering without a whole lot of choruses.

The cover consists of stills from a movie project, filmed at dawn in early August at Skottbu in Norway. The title, Ancient Astronauts, remains a bit of a mystery: are Motorpsycho following clues left by earlier travellers or are they perhaps leaving some themselves? Ancient Astronauts is slated to be released on August 19, 2022 via Stickman Records, with a pre-sale to start on July 15 at THIS LOCATION!

National Napalm Syndicate was formed in 1986. After few line-up changes and couple of demos later they found themselves signing a major label deal with EMI / Capitol Records.

The band was one of the very first speed/thrash metal acts to emerge from Finland. Their debut album “National Napalm Syndicate” was released in 1989.

Over the years National Napalm Syndicate have released a number of full albums and EPs, but now 2022 all the missing pieces of the puzzle were found and the band is a meaner than ever, a true killing machine ready to unleash the thrash metal storm upon the metal world.

The National Napalm Syndicate sound is a interesting combination of traditional heavy metal, NWOBHM, hardcore punk and old school thrash metal. As a bonus they have a very unique way of writing memorable choruses and addicting riffs. A truly original sound which only a country like Finland and a cold Finnish weather could have given a birth.

JINJER Granted Permission to Exit Ukraine + Release Surprise ‘Call Me A Symbol’ Music Video

Progressive groove metal juggernauts JINJER have once again beat the odds: the band announces today that with the support of the Ukrainian Ministry Of Culture, they have been granted a special exemption to exit Ukraine in order to help their countrymen the best way they can – through music. This also means that JINJER’s upcoming EU festival appearances this summer are confirmed! The band will perform across Europe starting June 10 at Greenfiel Festival in Interlaken (CH).

JINJER bassist Eugene states:
“We are very honored to announce that together with the help of the Ukrainian Ministry Of Culture, we have successfully been granted permission to travel abroad as ambassadors of our country to raise funds and awareness about the war raging back home. This is a huge honor for us as a band and as citizens. We will do our part to make sure that this war stops as soon as possible! Come support, dance and scream your hearts out for Ukraine!”
