Unleash the beer-thirsty! On June 10-11, 2022, Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest: Philly – the world’s loudest, two-day craft beer event – comes back to the Fillmore Philly for its latest and greatest sud-soaked execution!

“Over the last 18 years there has been a mutual respect and collaboration between Metal Blade Records and Decibel Magazine so I am very honored to have Decibel Magazine join in our festivities to help us celebrate our 40th anniversary at the Metal and Beer Fest. We are excited to debut our 40th Anniversary METAL BLADE BEER which was specially brewed with our friends at Revision Brewing!!” – Brian Slagel

“In honor of Metal & Beer Fest title-sponsor Metal Blade Records historic 40th year anniversary (!) we are extremely excited to announce that we will be debuting the exclusive Revision Brewing x Metal Blade Records West Coast Style IPA collaboration brew at the event!” – Albert Mudrian, Editor in Chief, Decibel Magazine

Death metal kings Cannibal Corpse triumphantly return to Philadelphia, leading an unforgettable weekend that includes a Friday night headlining set from Swedish doom legends Candlemass. The epic-doom originators will perform their landmark debut Epicus Doomicus Metallicus for the first time ever in its entirety in America, with Epicus vocalist Johan Längquist.

That’s just one of four exclusive Metal & Beer Fest full-album sets! For the first time Wolves in the Throne Room will perform all of their U.S. black metal masterpiece Two Hunters, Nuclear Assault will thrash through their 1986 undisputed classic Game Over in full, and reawakened death metal/grindcore/hardcore whirlwind The Red Chord will demolish with their masterwork Clients from start to finish.

The already stacked artist bill, presented by Metal Blade Records, is rounded out by: Canadian progressive metal icons Voivod; vicious deathgrind crushers Full of Hell; revolutionary Philly hardcore heroes Soul Glo; metallic hardcore monolith All Else Failed; Pittsburgh old-school death/doom dealers Derkéta; British black/thrash battalion Craven Idol; tortuous death metal crew Sanguisugabogg; post-black metal new jacks The Silver; and resurrected death metal cult favorites Deathevokation.

But wait, we’re not finished! We’ve got the weekend’s cauldron of hops totally covered via America’s most metal breweries! The entire beer lineup is once again presented by Broken Goblet Brewing (PA) and includes featured breweries Wake Brewing (IL), Widowmaker Brewing (MA), Bone Up Brewing (MA), Kings County Brewers Collective (NY), Sabbath Brewing (GA) and flagship meadery Brimming Horn Meadery (DE).

“We are once again excited to be the sponsoring brewery for this amazing crossover beer and metal event, two things that are so important to the very fabric of our business,” says Mike LaCouture, co-owner of Broken Goblet Brewing. “Going from an idea to a small brewery and taproom to a full-fledged production brewery and music venue has taught us the value of hard work, but also sticking to your roots – and it’s a value we see shared every year with the whole Decibel crew. Plus Candlemass? Cannibal Corpse? Hell yes, we want to be there!“

Joining this brewing murderers’ row will be: 3 Floyds Brewing (IN), Adroit Theory Brewing Company (VA), Cosmic Eye Brewing (NE), Animated Brewing Co. (PA), Love City Brewing (PA), Abomination Brewing (CT), Bolero Snort Brewery (NJ), Yards Brewing Co. (PA), Soundgrowler Brewing Co. (IL) and our first non-alcoholic brewer, Athletic Brewing Company (CT).

Norse metal legends EINHERJER proudly announce the upcoming release of their first live album, Norse And Dangerous (Live… From The Land Of Legends), out August 5, 2022 via Napalm Records in vinyl (strictly limited to 300 copies) and digital formats! Norse And Dangerous (Live… From The Land Of Legends) was recorded in the band’s hometown of Haugesund in February of last year at their North Star (2021) album release shows, and follows the release of said full length, which was acclaimed both by fans and media alike (Spark 5/5 [CZ], Deaf Forever 8/10 [DE], Hardline 8.5/10 [DE], Metal Hammer 8/10 [UK]).

Norse And Dangerous (Live… From The Land Of Legends) not only includes songs from North Star, but beautifully sums up EINHERJER’s discography, offering a live gem satisfying both new and current fans and Viking metal legions beyond!

To give a first glimpse of what can be expected of the live album, EINHERJER have released the new live version of their single “West Coast Groove”, originally on North Star, along with a music video. Riddled with even huskier live vocals, the powerful track combines old school vibes with dark Viking metal atmosphere that brings the tension of a live concert into your living room.

EINHERJER on the live version of “West Coast Groove”:
“With no gigs in a year and new blood in our ranks, we recorded the two hometown release shows just to get an idea of what we sounded like live in 2021. It only took one listen to realize that our fans would appreciate this as much as we did. EINHERJER live is an energetic experience. We want to let everyone hear that, so here’s our first live album, recorded live on our home turf in front of many familiar faces. The document of a great evening!”

World-renowned Norsemen EINHERJER have returned to unleash their fantastic, grim sound once more! Founded in 1993, the metal veterans have spent nearly 30 years making their mark on the Viking metal genre with eight studio albums and two EPs. This year, the band even reached another benchmark, earning a nomination for a Spellemann Award – the most important music prize in their home country of Norway!

Norse And Dangerous (Live… From The Land Of Legends) sets off with great opener “West Coast Groove” from their most recent studio album, North Star (2021). Next, “The Spirit Of A Thousand Years” showcases EINHERJER’s technical songwriting sophistication with the finest guitar solos, while “The Blood & The Iron” offers bursting, intense energy and “Kill The Flame” lures with its characteristic riffage. But the band doesn’t stop with more recent songs! After visiting several other favorites, the band soon returns to days of yore with tracks like “Dragons Of The North” and “Ballad Of The Swords” from their 1996 debut full-length Dragons Of The North, before closing with turn-of-the-century banger “Ironbound” and classic tune “Far Far North”. The live contrast between their formative hits and more recent orchestrations clearly proves that the band has remained true to themselves throughout the decades, continually delivering an authentic sound.

HAMMER KING Announce New Album “Kingdemonium”, Out August 19th

HAMMER KING continue to prove themselves as an unstoppable force in the German heavy and power metal world – under the banner of the mighty king, the band announces their new studio album, Kingdemonium, set for release on August 19, 2022!

Only 14 months after the release of their self-titled album, which put them on the radar of each heavy metal fan with their first Top 50 chart entry, the Germans deliver another strong release while showcasing a different side of their self-curated fantasy world full of perfectly intonated tales and stories – a holy feast for fans of genre giants like Powerwolf, Manowar or HammerFall!

Together with the album announcement, the band around former Ross The Boss singer Titan Fox V have released the first single and official video taken from the new record! “Pariah Is My Name” is an undisputed banger packed with strong vocals, mighty guitar riffs and pounding drums. The song, in trademark HAMMER KING storytelling manner, offers a powerful first insight of what fans can expect from the new full-length.

HAMMER KING on “Pariah Is My Name”:
“Wake up, the firstborn is dead – Pariah Is My Name!
One year after the acclaimed juggernaut that Hammer King, the album, was, we are primed and ready to kick things off with a truly massive song: “Pariah Is My Name”.
The track has been our choice for the first single right from the start. Utilizing the Savatage-tuning, it has turned out very powerful and urgent, while lyrically it shows the kingly narrative from a darker angle. Reflecting on the past years outside the Kingdom, the message is clear and simple: Never surrender, the resistance is here – and Pariah Is My Name! God bless the King, may the King bless you.”

Kingdemonium highlights the core essence of HAMMER KING and fully reflects on the strengths of the band, kicking off with first track “Invisible King”. The title track, “Kingdemonium” then proves its pure power from the first note and goes all the way with thundering drums, riffs made of steel, and energetic vocals. Followed by “The Four Horsemen”, starting off slower, the track quickly picks up the pace mid-journey through the world of the Hammer King. “Guardians of the Realm (featuring Ross The Boss)”, stands out from the rest with the vigorous vocals riddled with acoustic guitar elements, while “Live Long, Die Nasty” is a future live hit that will have all crowds screaming along immediately. An album made of pure steel in the name of the Hammer King!

Sinister new track from NORDJEVEL truly captures the raw nature of true Norwegian black metal.
“Spores of Gnosis” leads the listeners into an atmosphere surrounded by chaos and darkness.

“Elusive and clandestine, raging and black. Like burning needles, piercing every soul and spirit-nerve.
We give you Spores Of Gnosis.
” – Nordjevel

Listen to the single here: https://orcd.co/sporesofgnosis

Nordjevel entered the international black metal scene in 2015 and spread like a plague, capturing audiences at festivals such as Inferno, Kaltenbach Open Air, Wacken, Hellfest, Bloodstock, Maryland Deathfest and In Flammen Open Air.
They were founded by Doedsadmiral, and consists of established musicians from bands such as Ragnarok, Myrkskog and Dark Funeral.

Nordjevel`s brutal and true take on black metal impressed. Their atmospheric and committed sound paired with high technical finesse, unique interplay and raw, unfiltered imagery, has the chills go wild on any black metal fan. A new full-length album is now on the horizon in 2022.

KING BUFFALO Release “Regenerator” Album on September 2nd & Announce Tour Dates

Rochester, New York-based trio KING BUFFALO will issue their fifth full-length, Regenerator, on Sept. 2, 2022, as a self-release in North America and through Stickman Records in Europe. Preorders will be available on June 10th via http://kingbuffalo.bigcartel.com.

Written and recorded by the band with mixing and engineering by guitarist/vocalist Sean McVay and mastering by Bernie Matthews, the seven-song outing is the third in King Buffalo’s stated ‘pandemic trilogy,’ following Two of 2021’s Best Albums in The Burden of Restlessness and Acheron.

Both of those albums – like 2018’s Longing to Be the Mountain, 2016’s debut, Orion, and the various EPs and other offerings they’ve made over the last eight years – made bold declarations about who King Buffalo are as a band, and Regenerator is no different. As McVay, bassist/synthesist Dan Reynolds and drummer Scott Donaldson continue to explore the outer reaches of modern psychedelic songcraft, melding progressive rhythms, drifting atmospheres and accompanying surges of electricity, the new collection only further establishes them as one of the brightest lights shining in underground rock today.

As the third of three, Regenerator seems inherently to tie together the two LPs most immediately before it, and as King Buffalo unfold the leadoff title-track across nine and half minutes, it becomes clear just how truly they have marked out their own sonic presence. The later melodic highlight “Mammoth” – with McVay’s most confident vocal yet – shimmers with hope that somehow doesn’t come across as desperate, and as “Hours” engages classic space rock and the closing “Firmament” summarizes the first, second and third series installments, the final chapter of this trilogy becomes the essential cornerstone of King Buffalo’s work to-date.

Regenerator was written by King Buffalo in Rochester, NY at the Main Street Armory in 2021. Produced, engineered and mixed by Sean McVay, and mastered by Bernie Matthews. The artwork was created by Mike Del Rosario, with the album layout by Scott Donaldson.

Listen to the album title track, just exclusively premiered with Metal Injection HERE!

Regenerator Tracklist:

  1. Regenerator
  2. Mercury
  3. Hours
  4. Interlude
  5. Mammoth
  6. Avalon
  7. Firmament

The band returned to live activity late last year, touring alongside Clutch and more recently a full North American spring tour with Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats. By the time Regenerator arrives, they will have completed a UK and European headlining tour with festival appearances in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium and Denmark.

SOLE SYNDICATE Release Video for Second Single ‘Brave Enough’

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: SOLE SYNDICATE. Leave a comment

SOLE SYNDICATE have released a video for ‘Brave Enough’ – second single taken from the new album ‘Into the Flames’, set to be released on June 17th via Scarlet Records.

“‘Brave Enough’ is a straightforward rock anthem with a strong chorus and an important message: we are burning down our own house…” – Sole Syndicate

Album pre-orders: https://orcd.co/intotheflames

Bridging the gap between traditional European roots and modern American sounds, Sole Syndicate knows well the secret of all the greatest, past’n’present-hard’n’heavy bands: every song counts.

‘Into the Flames’ is a darker and heavier record than its predecessor (the brilliant 2020 classic hard rock affair ‘Last Days of Eden’): earthquaking riffs & tasty solos, roaring vocals, some great melodies and a thunderous rhythmic background represent the foundation of each track.

The lyrical theme of the album is quite gloomy and leads the listener on a journey into the human mind, taking pulse on everyday life. Sole Syndicate is not a political band, but they are not afraid to write and sing about the state of things – war, mental health, environment and social injustices.

‘Into the Flames’ is the raucous and entertaining soundtrack of this crazy world of ours.
