Mexican CRS (Aka Cirrosis) Release New Single ‘El Enemigo Siempre He Sido Yo’

Mexican groove death metal band CRS, also known as Cirrosis, presents a new single in spanish “El enemigo  siempre he sido yo”. The pioneer band of the technical brutal genre in Mexico, formed in 1991, release this single along a promo videoclip, just a few months after they announced the addition as official member of the virtuoso bassist Kello Gonzalez (Parazit, Nata).

CRS strengthens their well-known and indisputable sound quality and attention to detail, that easily place them on the international map, but also it evidences that their strength is composition. Quite original, powerful and intense riffs with structures that, although they are melodic and clear, presents syncopated and very technical rhythms, an explosion of sounds that please the ear and at the same time arouse the fury that only good metal makes. There is no abuse of classic resources in the song but they add sounds that aren´t so common these days, like a distorted bass solo by Kello.

“El enemigo siempre he sido yo” shows that to make brutal music it´s not necessary to abuse of blast beats. Sir Oz seems to be angry as hell, his growls are heartbreaking and the message is harsh and direct.

The videoclip was illustrated by Gabo Sandoval who also was behind the cover of this single, an amazing and beautiful art. About his work, Gabo comments: “It´s a pleasure to make a team with creative people, since the first time I listened the track and the power of the song, images arose by itself, I did my own interpretation almost spontaneously, I´m very satisfied with the result”.

The video and animation director was Maldos (Lethal Creation) who also has worked for several Mexican metal bands. The video clip contains elements that make it different, particularly, cameos from band members.

In relation to the new single, SIR OZ, vocalist and founder member of the band tells us: “El enemigo siempre he sido yo” is an important song for us, not only because of its musical proposal that get closer to our first studio album . “Reciclando Desesperación” (1999, Independent; Concrete Records 2014) but because of the lyric. The song talks about of selfish sociopaths who attack with envy, people who create an unrealistic scenario where they assume us, consciously or unconsciously, as their enemies… they are frustrated mythomaniac pigs who behind our backs, discredit, slander and plot us to make us look bad in front of others.”

Francisco “Chucky” Oroz, founder guitarist and producer of the band, comments: “I´m very, very happy with the sound achieved in this song; the addition of Kello’s bass harmonize perfectly with our guitars and drums. Also, it´s the first collaboration in composition with Kello and we cannot be more proud of the result. Tavo shows a very particular precision and strength in this song. We´re more than satisfied.”

In this regard, Kello Gonzalez, bassist of the band states: “I remember the first time I heard the main riff… I was completely hooked and ideas immediately came to me to work on it and put together more pieces of the puzzle. It kind of took me back to my mid-90s metal roots. Everything flowed very naturally, I was very satisfied with the process, as well as with the final result.”

CRS stays so quite about their future plans, it´s not known if this single will be part of a new album or not. There are also no statements regarding live performances.

The video premiered via Metal-Rules and can be found here.

Released via Global Rock Records, this set brings together all three of the bands studio albums “On Target” “Cadence” & “Metaphor“… plus bonus live tracks recorded live at the UK Firefest Festival in 2010… as an added bonus David himself adds a brief spoken-word track talking about each release.

Says David;
Greetings everyone from David Reece, I wanted to take a little time to give you some thoughts about the new 3CD Bangalore Choir box set release through Global Rock Records. As many of you know after leaving Accept I went back to L.A. with the sole determined mission of forming a double guitar driven group with heavy vocal harmonies and most of all… great songs. The group amazingly were offered a deal by nearly every major label in California after playing a maximum of nine shows over the period of around six months. I’m deeply proud of the creation and experiences that transpired working with so many great artist’s with so many characters and song-writing talents, it’s something I’ll always cherish. I really feel that Global rock records and Giles Lavery have created a true depiction of these three records and what they’ve meant to me and so many others.

Giles Lavery of Global Rock Records added:
It’s a real honour to bring together all these albums from David’s legendary band Bangalore Choir, we have worked hard to make this a very all-encompassing package for David’s fans, the layout and packaging is first rate and was with full collaboration with David himself.
I consider the debut album “On Target” as one of the finest albums of the hard rock genre, the cast of players and songwriters speaks for itself, everyone from the band themselves to Jon Bon Jovi, Aldo Nova and Steve Plunkett…all names i am sure you recognize!

The release is available at all major retailers and also as a limited edition with a signed card from David Reece himself direct from: http://www.globalrockrecords.com

Danish Vikings VANIR Unleash New Album “Sagas”

From the Sagas of old, to the halls of Valhalla, from Danish and Germanic battlefields with their bloody battles and fierce warriors, Danish warriors VANIR are back and have put together, without compromise, a new epic album, with a fascination with our common origins, and the blood spilled throughout history. Few bands have more authority to do so: Vanir is one of Denmark’s most well-known and prominent Viking melodic death metal bands. The group has, since it’s inception, released five full-length albums very well received by the media and the avid supporters of the genre. But one can say, without much hesitation, their sixth effort “Sagas” is their best yet.

Written and recorded during the pandemics, mixed and mastered by Rune Stiassny (Iron Fire, ex-Saturnus), “Sagas” is mostly themed around Nordic mythology, but also has a song dedicated to one of the most important fantasy writers in history – J.R.R. Tolkien – who was himself greatly inspired by Nordic mythology and Denmark. On the other hand, a song such as “Black Clad”, has a double-edge sword: it is written as a tribute to the Norse god Brage, but also as a tribute to the fans of metal. The fans that support the scene and who will be the backbone of the live scene in the post-pandemic. Martin Rubini, Vanir’s vocalist, comments: “During the pandemic the world of music was turned upside down, this album has been our anchor in the creative part of our lives in a period where all our shows was cancelled and we still needed to be creative and do what we enjoy, playing metal. With “Sagas” we continue the route we laid out with “Aldar Rök” and “Allfather” and the vision we have for Vanir”.

Such is the Vanir approach to themes in 2022: melodic and fierce soundscapes, with lyrical strings tied to mythology and heathen paganism, but not ending there. “Sagas” artwork portraits this with a mixture of various Norse mythical imageries. It is inspired by the idea of fate and the Norns, which are here interpreted as a singular being, displaying various aspects of fate, while intertwined in its threads. It shows an elegant and feminine and strong imagery. The artwork was done by the bassist Lars Bundvad. “For this album, I didn’t write any music”, he explains. “Having been sidelined due to the pandemic – my immune system is not terribly robust – I wanted to go the extra mile and push myself for the artwork. The Norn portraits a strong feminine character and a sage who holds both wisdom and power. And I’m very happy with the result”.

“Sagas” is out now on CD, LP (two different colours, each limited to 300 units) and digital formats via Mighty Music. Orders can be placed here.

IATT Share New Music Video for ‘Elixir of Immortality’

Philadelphia based extreme metallers IATT are gearing up for the release of the band’s highly anticipated new album “Magnum Opus“, which will be coming out on May 27 via Black Lion Records. After the previously released first single “Seven Wandering Stars” (featuring Jake Superchi from UADA), the band has shared a brand new video clip for the track “Elixir of Immortality”.

IATT comments:

“From hypnotic bells to crushing buzz saw riffs, Elixir Of Immortality envelopes the listener with each punishing rhythmic hit. An infectious groove that drags you down into the abyss with each dissonant chord; Don’t get caught sleeping when the bell tolls for you..“

Meticulously crafted to pick up thematically where its predecessor left off, on “Magnum Opus” the listener is catapulted from the 1700s (Arsenic Ways) further back in time to a much darker, older world and the esoteric sciences of Alchemy. It was in this time man aimed to harness the world around him, bending the natural elements in a quest to obtain power, knowledge, control, and even immortality itself. Alchemy was the key to unlocking the secrets of existence and elevating one’s self to the pinnacle of enlightenment through transmutation and manipulation of the earthly elements. It was only through the process of Magnum Opus (the great work) that alchemists could harness the elementals in their purest form to create the Philosopher’s Stone – the key to power, enlightenment, and immortality.

Just as in alchemy itself, creating this album has been a journey of transformation; a period of great growth as individuals and as a unit. It’s through adversity, struggles, and the forging of the elements – of literal blood, sweat, and tears – IATT strive to transcend and elevate to their highest self, “the great work”, “Magnum Opus“.

“Magnum Opus” was produced by Joe Cantamessa and got mixed and mastered by Marcos Cerutti. Stunning cover artwork by Nightjar art of Adam Burke. Furthermore, the album features guest performances by musicians from UADA, RIVERS OF NIHIL, EMPEROR, WINDFAERER + more.

The album is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

  2. OUROBOROS
  3. PRIMA MATERIA
  4. ELIXIR OF IMMORTALITY

SATAN Debut New Single ‘From Second Sight’

NWOBHM veterans SATAN are set to release their sixth studio album, Earth Infernal, via Metal Blade Records on April 1, 2022. Today, the band unleash “From Second Sight,” the latest single off the album. Pre-Orders for Earth Infernal are available now: metalblade.com/satan

On the tracks lyrics, the band explains, “Wherever you care to look around the world, you’ll find conspiracy theories and millions of people who actually believe in them. The denial of science is a very dangerous trend. In itself it is nothing new, but lately there’s been a significant increase in the number of followers who’ve now given up on proven fact and are ready to believe that 2+2 = 5 if it suits their purpose. Trust in authority is at an all-time low. Our world is on the brink of sliding into chaos unless people wake up and start to have faith in the smartest human beings on the planet. Established expertise must win the day or we are finished as a species.“

Earth Infernal is a product of the times that birthed it, and could only be the work of SATAN. Having churned out cutting edge heavy metal throughout the 80s – and reunited in 2011 – their sixth full-length maintains the high standard they long ago set, and it is perhaps their timeliest release. “For two years the world has been preoccupied with politics and pandemics and while we were all looking the other way our planet has continued to get hotter,” says guitarist Russ Tippins. “Our Earth is now infernally hot. Almost irreversibly so. We are on a one-way trip to Hell and dragging our children along with us. Yes, SATAN has something to say about global warming.“

Over three years of development went into Earth Infernal, describing the record succinctly as ‘brutal, up tempo, loud guitars‘, it is classic SATAN but sounds fresh and new, the band experimenting a little. “Steve (Ramsey, guitar) and I had been talking for a while about playing some of our dual leads in unison rather than in harmony – which is our normal method. And sure enough, the trusted twin harmonies are still in abundance on this record, but two of the songs have us playing lead in unison, like Rossington and Collins’ solo in “Free Bird.“

“I believe that our current writing and subject matter are only too relevant to what is going on in the world today,” concludes Tippins. With touring plans in the works, SATAN fans will get a chance to hear Earth Infernal live in the not-too-distant future, and perhaps more importantly SATAN will continue to spread the important message at the heart of the album.

Earth Infernal Track Listing:
01. Ascendancy
02. Burning Portrait
03. Twelve Infernal Lords
04. Mercury’s Shadow
05. A Sorrow Unspent
06. Luciferic
07. From Second Sight
08. Poison Elegy
09. The Blood Ran Deep
10. Earth We Bequeath

STRATUZ Release New Single/Lyrics Video ‘Morning Star’

Venezuelan doom death group STRATUZ have released a second single/lyrics video from their forthcoming album Osculum Pacis set for release via Sliptrick Records on April 26th. The album is already available to pre-order from Shop Sliptrick …here

The band had this to say about the track; “Morning Star refers to the first light we see at dawn, that first star reminding us that the first light of the day reaches the spiritually higher men first, just like the last light of the day. The song represents Lucifer as the bringer of light. Light as knowledge. He is the bringer of light on our planet both in the material and spiritual way, and it’s in the hands of each to find their own light and understanding to wake up from so many layers of lies set through time.”

Available now at: Apple Music | Spotify | & other major stores
