NWOBHM veterans SATAN are set to release their sixth studio album, Earth Infernal, via Metal Blade Records on April 1, 2022. Today, the band unleash “From Second Sight,” the latest single off the album. Pre-Orders for Earth Infernal are available now: metalblade.com/satan
On the tracks lyrics, the band explains, “Wherever you care to look around the world, you’ll find conspiracy theories and millions of people who actually believe in them. The denial of science is a very dangerous trend. In itself it is nothing new, but lately there’s been a significant increase in the number of followers who’ve now given up on proven fact and are ready to believe that 2+2 = 5 if it suits their purpose. Trust in authority is at an all-time low. Our world is on the brink of sliding into chaos unless people wake up and start to have faith in the smartest human beings on the planet. Established expertise must win the day or we are finished as a species.“
Earth Infernal is a product of the times that birthed it, and could only be the work of SATAN. Having churned out cutting edge heavy metal throughout the 80s – and reunited in 2011 – their sixth full-length maintains the high standard they long ago set, and it is perhaps their timeliest release. “For two years the world has been preoccupied with politics and pandemics and while we were all looking the other way our planet has continued to get hotter,” says guitarist Russ Tippins. “Our Earth is now infernally hot. Almost irreversibly so. We are on a one-way trip to Hell and dragging our children along with us. Yes, SATAN has something to say about global warming.“
Over three years of development went into Earth Infernal, describing the record succinctly as ‘brutal, up tempo, loud guitars‘, it is classic SATAN but sounds fresh and new, the band experimenting a little. “Steve (Ramsey, guitar) and I had been talking for a while about playing some of our dual leads in unison rather than in harmony – which is our normal method. And sure enough, the trusted twin harmonies are still in abundance on this record, but two of the songs have us playing lead in unison, like Rossington and Collins’ solo in “Free Bird.“
“I believe that our current writing and subject matter are only too relevant to what is going on in the world today,” concludes Tippins. With touring plans in the works, SATAN fans will get a chance to hear Earth Infernal live in the not-too-distant future, and perhaps more importantly SATAN will continue to spread the important message at the heart of the album.

Venezuelan doom death group STRATUZ have released a second single/lyrics video from their forthcoming album Osculum Pacis set for release via Sliptrick Records on April 26th. The album is already available to pre-order from Shop Sliptrick …here
The band had this to say about the track; “Morning Star refers to the first light we see at dawn, that first star reminding us that the first light of the day reaches the spiritually higher men first, just like the last light of the day. The song represents Lucifer as the bringer of light. Light as knowledge. He is the bringer of light on our planet both in the material and spiritual way, and it’s in the hands of each to find their own light and understanding to wake up from so many layers of lies set through time.”
High energy garage rock trio MÄRVEL launch the single and music video “Great Man” on March 11. The single is the fifth and final one leading up to the Swedes’ ninth studio album “Graces Came With Malice”, set for release on April 22 as part of Märvel’s 20 year anniversary.
Listen to “Great Man” through your favorite streaming platform or watch the brand new video here:
Märvel comments on the single “Great Man”: “Some people are born with a genuine talent and they could easily conquer the moon and the stars. But for some reason they allow their demons to take over and they ruin it all for themselves. Some kind of self-destructo-mode is put into high gear. This song is about trying to lend some courage to those people, some courage to make them reach out and ask for help. You gotta believe that there’s still hope even if things are looking pretty bad.“
“Graces Came With Malice” will be released on The Sign Records on vinyl, CD, and all digital platforms. The physical record can be pre-ordered here:

Here’s what the legendary Mantas from Venom Inc. had to say about SURVIVE’s live potential:
“I had the pleasure and honor of touring Europe with Survive and they proved themselves to be a valuable asset to the touring package. I can say without hesitation or reservations that they were most definitely my favorite band on the tour. Incredibly nice and gracious guys who obviously loved their music and delivered every single night. I gave them the nickname ‘The Japanese Machine Head’ a song that they played at every sound check became the tour anthem because of its wonderful chorus structure. Melody, hook lines and brutally heavy guitar riffs define this amazing band who deserve global recognition. Maximum Respect from Jeff (Mantas)”

Morten Veland (SIRENIA, MORTEMIA and founder of TRISTANIA) has released a video for the brand new song ‘Lost Horizon’ feat. Erica Ohlsson from the band Metalite. Watch the video below.
Morten Veland:
“I am proud and honoured to introduce Erica Ohlsson from Metalite as my special guest for ‘The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions’. The eight song is entitled ‘Lost Horizon’, and is now available on all digital platforms.
When I first started working on this project I was spending quite a lot of time looking for bands in the genre that was new to me. I was curious what was going on in the scene, and I finally had the time to update myself. One of the bands that I discovered early on was Metalite, I really liked their modern and catchy style of metal, and I was instantly blown away by Erica’s amazing voice. I feel truly privileged and thankful to have Erica on board this project, and I am really looking forward to sharing this song with you all. This song is more of an uptempo song, I find it very powerful, atmospheric and catchy.”
Erica Ohlsson:
”I got the question to record the clean vocals for Morten Velands (Sirenia) studio project Mortemia. The song sounded very modern, melodic with a lot of energy, I liked it a lot so of course I wanted to join. With help from my Metalite colleague Edwin we recorded it and we are really happy about the result! It sounds awesome! Hope you like it as much as I do.”
After 11 years of silence Norwegian multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist Morten Veland is once more active with his solo project Mortemia, this time with a brand new concept. ‘The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions’ is a series of singles released on a monthly basis, each song featuring a well known and highly profiled guest singer from the metal scene, so far the following singers has contributed:
Madeleine Liljestam (Eleine) Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion, Ayreon, MaYaN, Dark Horse White Horse) Alessia Scolletti (Temperance, ERA) Liv Kristine (Liv Kristine, ex-Theatre of Tragedy, ex-Leaves Eyes) Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum, The Dark Side of the Moon) Brittney Slayes (Unleash the Archers) Maja Shining (Forever Still) Erica Ohlsson (Metalite)
Finnish melodic metallers IKIROUTA have released their new single “Aika”. It is their 15th single release so far. Songwriter, keyboardist and guitar player Teemu Kuosmanen backgrounds the new song: “It is about the limits of human life. And that you should not leave things undone. You should seize the opportunities you get. We only live once and you should spend that opportunity to do things that are important to you. Compared to previous singles ‘Aika’ tightens the screw to faster and harder. However it is really melodic song with a catchy chorus. Personally I’m a bit nervous about the music video as it’s the first one I’ve ever made.”
Ikirouta is a melodic metal band from the northern Finnish city of Kajaani. The band was founded in 2020 as the former SoulHealer guitar player Teemu Kuosmanen and singer Jori Kärki got an idea of a melodic heavy metal band that sings in Finnish. Drummer Jani Partanen was asked to join the band and the first single Vanki was recorded so that Teemu also played the bass and keyboards. As the first single got really good feedback the band decided to create more music. Next single was still made with the same line-up as the first but after that bass player Jere Pellikka joined Ikirouta.
Keyboard solo on the latest single is played by the audio engineer Janne Tolsa (Turmion Kätilöt, Tarot) who also co-produced the track and was responsible of mixing and mastering the track.
