LONG DISTANCE CALLING Return with First Single ‘Kamilah’ from Upcoming Album, Coming Out August 26th

earMUSIC is pleased to announce the release of LONG DISTANCE CALLING‘s new studio album “Eraser” on August 26, 2022.

With a reputation as a formidable and dynamic live band, not least due to multiple  European tours and high-profile festival appearances, LONG DISTANCE CALLING have been developing towards a crescendo of their artistry for some time now. In  2020, despite being unable to hit the road, the band released their seventh and most  absorbing full-length to date, “How Do We Want To Live?” which charted at 7 in the  German Album Charts. An intricate but deeply satisfying concept piece, it showcased  the ongoing expansion of the LONG DISTANCE CALLING sound, and received  widespread plaudits as a result. Unable to take their new music directly to the  people this time around, they instead decided to throw themselves enthusiastically  into the creative process all over again.

The end result of all that creativity is surely destined to be one of the great  progressive records of the year. LONG DISTANCE CALLING’s eighth album is titled  Eraser: a direct and heartfelt tribute to the gradual erosion of nature at the hands of  mankind. Eraser will be released on August 26th and is dedicated to the world’s  endangered species, with each song representing one particular organism facing  extinction.

Preorder “ERASER” here: https://ldc.lnk.to/EraserAlbum

First single Kamilah, out on April 22nd, honors the gorilla with a wildly dynamic  journey through blissful, shimmering post-rock vistas, urgent and muscular metallic  crescendos, and a profoundly melodic and melancholy denouement.

The elaborately drawn and animated music video, penned by Costin Chioreanu, is a  nearly 7-minutes masterpiece which can be watched below.

Finnish WOMACK to Release Third Studio Album in May, ‘Spittin´ Teeth’ Single Out Now

Spittin´ Teeth is the second single off the forthcoming third album ‘III – Songs Of Downfall & Deliverance’ of the finnish band WOMACK, who hail from a small town called Forssa,
which the band themselves desribe as the deep south of gloomy north.

Spittin´ Teeth is among the heavier cuts from the album, and the lyrics paint a picture of the finnish way of life, which, according to the lyricist-singer Henrik Haarlo, bears striking resemblance to the Spartans in the cult classic movie 300.

The finns may not be as ripped, but they are mad, silent and simply unable to quit as long as they are able to draw breath. If a finn is able to breath, they´re able to drink, and as long as they able to drink, they are just fine, should anyone ask. No matter how hard they are hit, and no matter how hard they fall, they keep fighting toward their next failure, and fight on again.

That is simply poetic, and deserves yet another song written about.

Womack proudly endorses the finnish way of life, and refuses to quit as well, come whatever may. So treat yourself to a round of Spitting Teeth, and sink your own teeth to the forthcoming album once it´s released through Inverse on the 20th of May, 2022.

We know you want to.

2021 saw 10,000 YEARS lay waste to the underground world of heavy music with their debut full length album “II”. Now, barely a year later, they return with the conclusion to their epic trilogy.

Continuing with numbered titles, the new album is called “III” and concludes 10,000 Years conceptual exploration of mindbending sci-fi by way of absolutely facemelting stonermetal that will bring you to your knees in heavy worship.

Says bassist/vocalist Alex Risberg: ““III” feels like a continuation from what we’ve done before, a natural evolution of the sound of the band. We’ve expanded on the things we felt worked best the last time around, like the thrashy High On Fire-stuff and the more epic songstructures, all the while maintaining what this band is all about.”

Recording once again took place in the legendary Studio Sunlight with the equally legendary Tomas Skogsberg manning the controls.

The album will be released on vinyl by underground heavyweights Interstellar Smoke Records with a CD and digital coming from Death Valley Records as well as a limited edition cassette tape from Olde Magick Records.

Tracklisting:

  1. Cult Axe
  2. Megafauna
  3. Desert Of Madness
  4. The Secret Of Water
  5. The Green King Rises
  6. Il Cattivo
  7. Escape From Earth
  8. To Suns Beyond

VUOLA is a psychedelic rock project of a Finnish drummer, producer and studio manager Jussi Vuola. ‘Laugh Vivid Often Adore Unity’ is an inter textual salute to the giants of the past. Robert Plant, Jimmy Page as well as Tom Scholz of Boston are being credited, too.

See Jan Trygg’s magnificent video on YouTube, listen on music services

These are the fruits of the beautiful summer I spent under the sun and stars, in peace and harmony, surrounded by the people I love.”

‘Laugh Vivid Often Adore Unity’ is dedicated to Vuolas sister losing her husband to cancer recently, way too early. The new single paints a picture of an unearthly reunion beyond life and gives hope to this one. The video is representing a hungry live band:
Jussi Vuola – Guitars & Vocals
Jori Saloranta – Guitars & Vocals
Joel Kinnunen – Keys, Guitars & Vocals
Fabian Korström – Bass & Vocals
Elias Koljonen – Drums & Vocals

All proceeds of the album will be donated to the victims of the Ukraine war during year 2022 via Unicef. The first singles are now available on Bandcamp for the amount of your choice.

ABOUT JUSSI VUOLA: Jussi Vuola has played drums since his teenage years in a variety of acts, including the Finnish bands The Grammers, Mystons, Willie & The Goodsouls and Achiote, to name a few. In 2010 he put together an analog recording studio in Turku, Finland that has become a home for a lot of acts. Hundreds of gigs around the globe, tens of albums he has played on, and hundreds of releases he has taken part of production on, have shaped him to the person he is today. Over the years, it became clear it was time for him to make a move downstage. In 2022, he is leading a talented five-piece under his own name to venues, with himself on vocals & guitar.
The anticipated, esoteric, heavy hitting album ”Alouv” is coming out in spring 2022.

Australia’s DEAD CITY RUINS Share Music Video for New, High Voltage Single ‘Preacher’

Following their much acclaimed, third album Never Say Die (2018), Melbourne-based hard rock act DEAD CITY RUINS has premiered a music video for the high voltage, new single “Preacher”!

Formed in 2010, the Australians sold their belongings and went all-in when it comes to rock ’n’ roll. Tirelessly touring the planet, the band has managed to capture the hearts of its audience gig by gig – much like Rival Sons, Monster Truck, and similar trailblazers of their generation have. They also share a list of influences with these acts, namely Deep Purple, Guns N’ Roses, Zeppelin. Their goal: bring rock ’n’ roll back to the people!

“Preacher” may not only be a promising harbinger of an upcoming, new album to follow in the hopefully not so distant future with AFM Records, but also introduces new vocalist Steve Welsh! Before joining DEAD CITY RUINS, Welsh was mostly active on YouTube, where he dedicated himself to imitating a plethora of singers. There’s one clip of him singing the twelve songs from Alice In Chains’ “Dirt“ in twelve different styles; ranging from James Hetfield to Ronnie James Dio.

“Preacher is the first song we wrote together after re-grouping from three months touring Australia and Europe,”  the band comments. “New blood, new riffs and new power! Crack a beer and crank it up!”

Now fasten your seat belt for a heavy dose of the rock ’n’ roll, and watch DEAD CITY RUINS‘ brand new video for “Preacher” here:
