Death Metal machine SEVERE TORTURE comes crushing down on this godforsaken planet to slaughter everything that stands in its way! And they come bearing great news!

After 12 years of silence, the band returns with not only a brand new EP ‘Fisting the Sockets’, but also a brutal new chapter in the form of their sixth full length. New music will be released upon the masses soon, more brutal, eclectic and darker than ever!

SEVERE TORTURE comments: “We are stoked to partner up once more with Season of mist to release our new music. We are very proud of the new material and we feel the world really needs some good quality death metal to finally bring a spark of joy in this grim period in history.“

For a glimpse of what’s to come, check out SEVERE TORTURE‘s latest release ‘Slaughtered’ HERE

Brutal. Death. Metal.

These words define the unique sound of the extreme metal that SEVERE TORTURE is known for since 1997. SEVERE TORTURE has been a constant force over the last 25 years, in presence as well as in their line-up. Their debut album “FEASTING ON BLOOD” was hailed as an instant classic in the early beginnings of the new wave of brutal death metal in 2001.

Ever since the release of their debut the band has toured extensively. Playing shows in North and South America, Mexico and their home continent Europe in support of the 5 albums they have released over the last 25 years.

Since SEVERE TORTURE is about quality not quantity, they have been laying low since their latest album “SLAUGHTERED”, released in 2010. While still playing shows for the love of the genre, the band was in search of the brutality and energy needed for the material of a new SEVERE TORTURE album. This soul-searching led to the amical split with original drummer Seth in 2018, who was replaced 2018 by Damien Kerpentier. With renewed energy and focus the band started with a clean slate by writing new material, arguably their best material to this day.

“FISTING THE SOCKETS” will be the first feat of SEVERE TORTURE in 12 years. The band has re-signed their deal with Season of Mist and if it wasn’t for a certain pandemic this upcoming EP “FISTING THE SOCKETS” was probably released much earlier.

SEVERE TORTURE is currently recording their full-length album, to be released early 2023 through Season of Mist Records.

ALESTORM Reveal Music Video for First Single ‘Magellan’s Expedition’ + Announce New Album Details

It’s time to put on your pirate hat and inflate your rubber ducks, because the world-famous Pirate Metal Drinking Crew, ALESTORM, have just set sail on a new voyage with their seventh studio album, Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum, set for release on June 24, 2022 via Napalm Records. Pre-orders start now!

Alongside its pre-order kickoff, ALESTORM have released the charging first single from the new album, “Magellan’s Expedition” – an epic quest telling the tale of Ferdinand Magellan’s historical circumnavigation of the earth in 1522. The official video was filmed on location in a castle, features tons of pyro, and of course, a huge yellow laser-eyed rubber duck fighting a young maiden warrior, transforming her into a real, beautiful duck! Featuring majestic orchestral backing, whirling folky violins and huge Latin choirs, this song is classic ALESTORM like you haven’t heard in years – a real throwback to the early days of Captain Morgan’s Revenge!

The band spent two years during the lockdown going insane and frantically dredging up the craziest pirate metal anthems from their treasure chest of ideas, and have created the most epic and serious (yes, serious) sounding ALESTORM album you’ve ever heard. From the symphonic choir-powered “Magellan’s Expedition” to the rousing anthem “Under Blackened Banners” featuring intense technical riffing and exquisite solo duels, Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum is a real throwback to the early days of Captain Morgan’s Revenge. But fans of the modern ALESTORM sound need not worry either – there’s plenty of party mood in the aptly-named future hit song “P.A.R.T.Y.”, and the high speed, insane folk metal banger “Cannonball” has the most ridiculous and offensive lyrics you’ve ever heard in a pirate metal song (making “Fucked With an Anchor” sound tame).

Italian legendary Speed/thrash metallers CELTIC HILLS unleashed their highly anticipated new album “Huldufólk” on April 1st, via Elevate Records, which is already receiving praising reviews from worldwide media.

If in Europe we are used to listen to music from Spotify, Bandcamp etc, in America, the most popular is Number1 Music and after the release of the new album “Huldufólk”, CELTIC HILLS are excited to receive the news that there have been already more than 600,000 listeners! “We feel like giving a big thank you to everyone who likes our music, because it’s great to share our passion with them.”

“Huldufolk” collects and relaunches the excellent reviews obtained from the previous work. “Huldufolk” is a record with a lot of melody but characterized by the speed that distinguishes Celtic Hills. The album was produced by Michele Guaitoli, singer of Temperance and Vision of Atlantis in the studios of the Groove Factory in Udine and for the realization of the cover again the talented Sheila Franco.

Band’s singer and guitarist Jonathan Vanderbilt on “Huldufólk”:
“Again this time we will talk about Friuli, and the theory is at work that the location of the American Air Force Base Aviano is used to control an ancient access to the underground world, which has been used by the pagan gods since ancient times. The magical rites of the inhabitants of the mountains and the places where elves, fairies and gnomes once lived among the people are revealed. There are already definitive titles such as The Sound of the Earth in F sharp minor. A text tells how you can use the beneficial energy of the trees at dawn to strengthen your energies, but there will be no lack of historical events that accompany every CELTIC HILLS album.”

Jonathan on the album cover artwork:
“The cover was again entrusted to Sheila Franco with the input of drawing a brighter cover, with the predominant green between the green that characterizes the MATRIX movie and the green of uncontaminated nature. A record in the balance between the enchanted world of legends, heroic deeds performed by people who wanted a better world. A record that looks to the past, projecting itself into a future to be built. A passing disc that wants to take past history with it to go further …to draw.”

The tracklisting reads the following:
1 – The Secret of the Grail
2 – Metal Message
3 – After The Eartquake
4 – Hidden Folk
5 – Green Forest
6 – Gate Of Hollow Earth
7 – Living Out Of The Egg
8 – The Sound Of Earth
9 – The Hammer Of Thor
10 – Villacher Kirktag

CELTIC HILLS were born in 2010, in 2020 they sign a recording contract with Elevate Records with which they released the album “Blood over Intents” and the EP “Schrage Musik” both in 2020. In 2021 another album is out “Mystai Keltoy” produced and recorded by Michele Guaitoli singer of Temperance, Vision of Atlantis and Era. The style played is difficult to place in a single vein of metal, as there are many influences ranging from death to power, with sound elements that can also recall a certain type of 90’s thrash. The singing is quite varied, and for some listeners it may seem unusual in a metal band. power, speed and good melodic lines distinguish the band from others. Between 2010 and 2020 they released “Horns helmet fighters” and for the Slovak Music Globalliance they came out on international compilations on volumes 2,3,4. CELTIC HILLS’ new album “Huldufólk” was released on April 1st, 2022 via Elevate Records.

RXPTRS Announce New Album “Living Without Death’s Permission”, Out June 24th

Bristol, UK-based band RXPTRS – who blend rock, metal, punk, and hardcore with a seamlessness that is enviable, creating something that is unique that seethes with boundless energy – have announced their forthcoming album Living Without Death’s Permission, out June 24 via Blacklight Media/Metal Blade Records. Pre-order it here: blacklightmediarecords.com/rxptrs

The album will come in two vinyl variants. The EU/UK Exclusive is White/Black Marble while the US Exclusive is Transparent Pink.

To celebrate the good news, RXPTRS have dropped the new song “Rock Bottom (Is a Stepping Stone).” Listen here. The video will arrive next week, so stay tuned.

“The idea of a world where money and religion meet is ridiculous,” the band, who were tipped by Alternative Press as one of 20 UK bands you need to know, says. “They don’t go together. Spirituality and greed are total opposite ends of the spectrum. So, to see celebrity religious figures on TV asking people to send them money, while they fly around in private jets, makes our skin crawl. ‘Rock Bottom (Is a Stepping Stone)’ is a story of someone who gives their hard-earned money to people on TV – to then realize later in life that it’s all been a scam.“

Living Without Death’s Permission track listing:
01. Burning Pages
02. Rock Bottom (Is a Stepping Stone)
03. Dead Awake (Pretty as the Drugs We Take)
04. Demons in My Headphones
05. Collapse
06. Gutterflies
07. The Death Rattle
08. Cold Ground
09. The Frail
10. Let Me Die How I Want

About RXPTRS + Living Without Death’s Permission:
RXPTRS (pronounced “Raptors”) formed in Bristol, UK in 2018. Now, the quintet’s full-length Living Without Death’s Permission finally arrives. It’s 10 tracks that cover a lot of musical and emotional ground.

All of the members actively participated in their home city’s fertile music and arts scene before finding each other. “We had all previously been in numerous bands, each came with their own flavors of drama and shortfalls. When the five of us got together, something clicked, the usual bullshit got pushed aside, and our sights were set where we needed them to really knuckle down,” says bassist Sam Leworthy.

When it came to starting work on their debut full-length, the majority of the writing sessions were a “lockdown lock-in.” Due to the pandemic, RXPTRS were unable to get together in the rehearsal room as they would have otherwise. However, three of the members live together, which made things a little easier, and they would bounce tracks around between them via email, before the restrictions were finally lifted and they could all be in the same place.

The result is a markedly varied collection, changing gears constantly and unafraid to switch things up. “We never approach anything with a genre or an audience in mind, it has to be what we’re feeling in that moment. If it comes out punk, sick. If it sounds metal, awesome, if it doesn’t sound like anything else, even better. Nothing’s off the table,” explains vocalist Simon Roach. “We all come from different backgrounds and have all been inspired by so many different genres. We wanted to hear a sound that mixed all those influences, so we thought, ‘Let’s be that band.’ I totally get that genres help steer people, but we don’t want that stability. I feel like nothing great can come from a comfort zone.“

Living Without Death’s Permission is a phrase Roach coined when he was told he should be dead following a near-fatal accident. “I nearly got decapitated in a horrendous car crash a few years back. It was a bit of a miracle, and since that, I’ve kinda looked at life differently. I watched that film Final Destination when I was younger, and that incident kinda reminded me of that – life is fragile, so live it up, carpe diem, and all that.” When it came to lyrics, Roach wanted to “paint life from my perspective,” his experiences coming close to death on more than one occasion opening his eyes to a number of things. “I wanted to touch on subjects that bring me joy, baffle me, disgust me, entertain me and so on. I have a lot to say, and if I am gonna die, I’m gonna throw my two cents everywhere while I can,” he says.

The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Oz Craggs at Hidden Track Studios in Folkestone, who the band has worked with since their 2019 debut EP, having a great rapport. COVID again had an effect on the recording sessions, limiting the number of people who could be in the studio at any one time, but they placed their trust in one another and Craggs to get the best possible results. This all ultimately worked out in their favor, delivering a record that will introduce the wider world to RXPTRS and open their eyes to what this young band is capable of delivering. Looking to the road ahead, Leworthy sees “blood, sweat and tears, and not all our own” while Roach says, “I feel like this is just the beginning. Our most recent track has put us in the ears of more and more people worldwide, and we can’t wait to get in front of every one of them at a live show. We have a hell of a lot to say, and we’ll be like juggernauts until we say it all.“

“This song speaks volumes about the state of the world, not only when I wrote the lyrics, but today, as well,” says singer Jesse Leach. “It shines a light on the various protest songs we’ve written over the years. To me, the message is equally important as the music, and this song is no exception. And regardless of who we have become as a band, we still have our roots firmly planted in hardcore music.“
