Heavy metal titans LAMB OF GOD join forces with MEGADETH to remake a true classic. Originally released in 1986, “Wake Up Dead” was the lead single from MEGADETH’s iconic multi-platinum selling album Peace Sells… but Who’s Buying?.

And now, one week before the second installment of the US leg of their co-headline tour The Metal Tour of the Year is set to commence… LAMB OF GOD releases “Wake Up Dead” featuring Dave Mustaine and the members of MEGADETH. LAMB OF GOD vocalist D. Randall Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton  and Willie Adler, bassist John Campbell and drummer Art Cruz recorded the MEGADETH classic remotely and recruited the MEGADETH frontman himself to feature guitar and vocals on the song.

Mustaine lent his signature vocal to the track, with lead guitar work on the various solos by LAMB OF GOD’s own Mark Morton, as well as MEGADETH’s Mustaine and Kiko Loureiro. The recording also includes vocal contributions from MEGADETH members James LoMenzo, Dirk Verbeuren and Kiko Loureiro.

After LAMB OF GOD will have played their co-headline tour with Megadeth in the US, and also a couple of summer festivals dates, they will head together with KREATOR on the next gigantic co-headline tour. After the tour had to be postponed before, finally in November and December of this year, the two metal giants will join forces and tour all across Europe on their “State Of Unrest” tour.

Greek powerhouse SUICIDAL ANGELS are happy to announce their return to the Nuclear Blast family, after over a decade. The band around mastermind Nick Melissourgos has been busy lately with writing the new album and is now ready to hit the studio in Athens in April.

The band comments on the signing news: “Through the weirdest of times, we didn’t lay low, we didn’t lay back and wait. With hard work, never ending passion for what we love to do, we reach the point where we can share some amazing news with you. After a dozen years, we are in the same exciting position, as in the past, to announce our return to Nuclear Blast. We renewed our vows and we are about to take the bull from the horns and do what we know best! Keep your eyes and ears open, more are yet to come. No matter what, onwards, always!”

Jaap Wagemaker, A&R Nuclear Blast continues: “Nuclear Blast proudly presents the signing of Greek thrashers Suicidal Angels! Already back in 2009 we released their album Sanctify The Darkness! After that the band worked very hard building up their name across Europe releasing very strong albums like: Dead Again, Bloodbath, Division of Blood and especially their last album Years of Aggression which secured the band their highest charts entries in Germany, Austria and Swiss. Live the band worked very hard on becoming a force to be reckoned with which they cleary showed at their tours with Satyricon and several thrash packages and their shows at some big festivals across Europe. The band has used their downtime during the pandemic really well and is ready to go into the studio again to record their 8th album and is hungry to confirm that they are one of the best Thrash bands in Europe! Although the band was founded in 2001 and they just celebrated their 20th anniversary the band is still young and with re-signing to Nuclear Blast the band is ready to go to the next level!”

Catch the band live on various club shows and festivals this spring and summer!

Richmond’s hard-partying, thrash metal maniacs MUNICIPAL WASTE will release their massively-anticipated 7th studio album, “Electrified Brain,” on July 1st via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band has revealed the shocking cover artwork by James Bousema, tracklisting and the deadly single “Grave Dive.”

PRE-ORDER “ELECTRIFIED BRAIN”: https://www.municipalwaste.net/electrified-brain

“Electrified Brain” marks MUNICIPAL WASTE’s first album in 5 years, following the release of their critically exalted 2017 record “Slime and Punishment.” And don’t think they’ve slowed down in the years since. “We’re not writing any love ballads to sell records,” affirms vocalist Tony Foresta. “We’re just doing what we’ve always done since the band started—and that’s try to write loud, fast, and ripping hardcorepunkmetal. We hope you walk away with some bloody ears, blown speakers, pissed off parents, black eyes, and a healthy distrust of authority.”

Recorded in Philadelphia with producer Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Code Orange), “Electrified Brain” is a high-voltage non-stop masterclass of neck-snapping thrash that’d be the ideal soundtrack for high-speed car chases and backyard steel cage matches as witnessed on the new track “Grave Dive.”

“It’s in the vein of songs like ‘Headbanger Face Rip’ and ‘Wave of Death’,” Tony notes. “It’s an inspirational song for our fans to cause bodily harm to themselves, but in a loud and healthy way, of course.”

“Electrified Brain” Tracklisting:

  1. Electrified Brain
  2. Demoralizer
  3. Last Crawl
  4. Grave Dive
  5. The Bite
  6. High Speed Steel
  7. Thermonuclear Protection
  8. Blood Vessel – Boat Jail
  9. Crank The Heat
  10. Restless and Wicked
  11. Ten Cent Beer Night
  12. Barreled Rage
  13. Putting On Errors
  14. Paranormal Janitor

THE HELLACOPTERS were formed in 1994 by Nicke Andersson (vocals and guitar), Dregen (guitar), Kenny Håkansson (bass) and Robert Eriksson (drums). At that time Andersson was renowned in the metal scene for his work in well-known Swedish death metal band ENTOMBED and Dregen had built a reputation as co-founder and guitarist of his main band BACKYARD BABIES.

Next to THE HIVES and THE BACKYARD BABIES, THE HELLACOPTERS are considered one of the most important and influential Swedish rock bands of the 1990s and 2000s – they achieved two Gold certifications, won the Swedish Grammy and a Kerrang! Award, have amassed 100 million streams to date and have supported and toured with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Kiss, Black Sabbath, ZZ Top or the Foo Fighters. They have released seven albums, ranging fuzzed-out & supercharged garage punk on “Supershitty To The Max!” (1996) & “Payin’ The Dues” (1997) to perfectly crafted & soulful high-energy rock’n’roll with a strong vintage vibe on the following albums, “Grande Rock” (1999), “High Visibility” (2000), “By The Grace Of God” (2002) and “Rock & Roll Is Dead” (2005). A compilation of cover songs called “Head Off” was released in 2008 and marked the band’s last album before ultimately dissolving. In addition THE HELLACOPTERS have released almost four dozen singles, splits and EPs until this day, most of which got the limited 7inch or 10inch vinyl treament, making them a vinyl collector’s dream … or worst nightmare.

THE HELLACOPTERS reunited in 2016 to play a few shows for the 20th anniversary of their debut album, and have proven an unstoppable force ever since, performing at Sweden Rock Festival, Psycho Las Vegas, Download, Hellfest, Roskilde, Ilosaarirock, among others. In October 2021 they announced that they had signed a deal with Nuclear Blast Records and a new album would be in the works for Spring 2022. The first new single, “Reap A Hurricane,” saw the light of day on December 17th, 2021, and was premiered live on stage at a sold out show at Globen in Stockholm on the very same day.
