After releasing a first single (Words Corrupted Lyric Video here: https://youtu.be/rWO3JB3PBwo) taken off their upcoming fourth studio album, Exquisite Aspects Of Wrath, Finnish Black Metal quartet MORMÂNT DE SNAGOV reveal yet another single, Themis Supreme, now online here:
Here’s the band’s thoughts on the new single: “Themis Supreme represents the more aggressive side of our new album. The idea for this song was based on the verse drum beat which is very much different than the basic blastbeat one might expect. P. Jokela somehow magically created this beat combining perfectly aggression and speed with progressive elements. The chorus of this song is more death metallish, creating a very cool contrast with the furious verse. The lyrics are based on a specific book trilogy, which is pretty obvious to those who’ve read it. However, the lyrics are not just storytelling, but as always, we tried to bring up some thoughts about us humans as species.”
Here’s what the band says about the new album: “The album sounds spectacular bringing even more melodic elements to the sound of Mormânt De Snagov, yet keeping the hateful core as extreme as it used to be.”
The MESSER Machine is fired up once again with another positive energy-driven song, “Hope In This World.”
“Hope In This World” is the newest creation from this modern rock power house known for their catchy hooks and high energy live performances. With 3 top 25 active rock singles, MESSER is poised to raise the bar even higher. Re-energized and focused, MESSER is ready to deliver an experience that goes beyond the music.
“Our new single was born out of the pandemic. We couldn’t just sit here and do nothing. We have a platform and we are compelled to use it for good” says the band.
They continue, “One of the most powerful things you can give someone is hope. We live in a world more divided than ever, making it hard to see a way for us to find a place of peace and harmony.‘Hope In This World’ is a song about bridging the gap between us that seems to be growing every day. The core message of this song is helping people find hope despite the negativity. It’s easy to get trapped in boxes of belief and confusion. This song is about the lifeline we cling to for change, the light at the end of the tunnel.”
Be a part of the Machine and help us find some Hope In This World.
Messer continued their momentum from their breakout year with the release of “Simple Man”, the 3rd single and video from their self-titled debut album, which bowed at #3 on the Soundscan New Artist chart and was named “New and Noteworthy” at iTunes and Amazon Music. The Dallas, Texas based band had a banner year in 2018 with first single “Make This Life” reaching #25 on the Active Rock radio charts, and second single “Save Myself” also made it into the Top 30 – the only truly independent act to do so.
“Simple Man” peaked at #23 on the Active Rock charts, and is the highest charting single for the band to date. It garnered attention throughout the rock world with spots on key Hard Rock playlists @ Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora Radio, Google Play Music, Youtube and Slacker Radio. The band has received accolades @ Loudwire, AXS, Alternative Press, Revolver, New Noise, Pure Grain Audio, and more.
The band was relentless touring hard in 2019, opening for Pop Evil, Scott Stapp, and headlining their own tour. Messer played more than 250 shows in 2019, including a 40-city sold out tour with RED and Lacey Sturm. The band was personally invited by Kevin Lyman to play the Texas leg of the final Vans Warped Tour.
The band’s cutting-edge modern rock sound was born through serendipitous connections in the thriving Deep Ellum music scene of Dallas, an area that has given rise to iconic Hard Rock and Metal bands like Pantera, Drowning Pool, Hell Yeah, and King’s X. The band grew their fan base locally, and began to branch out regionally and nationally, opening for notable bands such as Sick Puppies, Candlebox, Hinder, Vince Neil, Black Stone Cherry, Drowning Pool, Metallica, Scott Stapp Of Creed, and Avenged Sevenfold, among others. It was on one of these tours that the band caught the attention of Los Angeles based writer/producer, Chad Gendason. The band felt an immediate camaraderie with Chad and a lasting bond was made. Messer started writing with Chad, and their first collaboration became “Simple Man”. Fan favorite “Whiskey” soon followed and the songs started to flow into what would become their self-titled debut album “Messer”. The album was mixed by Ben Grosse (Marilyn Manson, Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed) and mastered by Tom Baker (Papa Roach, David Bowie, Motley Crue).
Messer Show Dates: Wednesday Feb 23rd @ Galaxy Theater for music video premier / acoustic performance Saturday May 7th in Ft. Smith, Arkansas @ 7 Steel Horse Ralley Saturday Jul 30th in Jackpot, Nevada @ Edgefest
Gifted with a multi-octave vocal range and also a multi-instrumentalist musician, JOHN SLOMAN is a renaissance man with a singular musical vision brought to mesmeric life on his magnificent new solo album “Two Rivers”. As a personal record, “Two Rivers” documents John’s journey from his childhood home city of Cardiff to treading the well-beaten path to London and his encounters in the music business fronting major headline bands.
“Two Rivers” is a compelling cocktail of songwriting that blends crucial chapters of John’s life in song and verse. In essence, “Two Rivers” is a distillation of Sloman’s eclectic musical progress from Lone Star to Uriah Heep, his adventures with UFO and The Gary Moore Band and his Todd Rundgren produced debut solo album “Disappearances Can Be Deceptive”. Adopting Cardiff’s River Taff and London’s River Thames as metaphors, John’s stream of consciousness observations pour forth from his deep well of memories. Populated with sublime songs wrapped around sharply observed personal postcards of a remarkable life “Two Rivers” simply has to be heard to be believed.
This soundtrack to a life less ordinary begins with the title track’s prophetic opening lines: “Two rivers flow through my mind – the one I see before me and the one I left behind.” As John says: “The River Taff and the River Thames have come to personify this unrelenting tug of love I have experienced for most of my adult life. I left the one with a spring in my youthful step. But with so many of those who once walked beside me now gone to that great river in the sky, I regret all the days I was away. This album is for them – and for those of you still being torn in two by your own two rivers.”
This memorial theme is taken further on the new single “This River Is A Time Machine” that explores the memory bank simile of these constant yet fluid and life-giving channels delivered with a heartfelt passion by John. Revisiting his childhood on the song “Scenes From An Old Biscuit Tin,” John explains the song’s inspiration: “On school mornings, as I ate my porridge, I would lose myself in images of Elizabethan London adorning the family biscuit tin, while dreaming that I might one day go there – London, that is.” And going to London is exactly what John did, which he superbly documents on “Londinium” and “Charing Cross Moon,” and achieving a substantial measure of success in doing so that established him as a major player in the late 70s and 1980s rock music scene and his continuing solo career. There is a pleasant surprise in store for fans of John Sloman with the Avant-Garde nature running right through this record. Think experimental Frank Zappa and late-period Scott Walker meeting the acoustic elements of Led Zeppelin and your imagination will be stoked by the captivating contents of this unique and exceptional album.
Two single releases “This River Is A Time Machine” followed by “The Last Coalminer” have non-album B sides and both are accompanied by videos for each single release.

Norwegian melodic death metal band HAUNTED BY SILHOUETTES have revealed a music video for their new single “Flock“, as well as announcing the availability of pre-orders for their upcoming EP album No Man Isle. “Flock” is the first single from the band’s new EP which is set to drop worldwide on May 6, 2022. The music video was directed by Stian Hoel Fossen and Mathias Jamtli Rye.
“Flock is mainly a departing speech to the world from a person that has decided to live the rest of his life completely alone” says lead vocalist Mathias Rye. “It’s also about taking a leap of faith and initiating a new beginning for oneself. That’s why we think Flock was a good choice as the first single from our new release.” Guitarist Per Kristian Grimsland adds “we had a lot of fun shooting this video. We did the band sequence on a huge stage. The process was a lot of fun; designing the lighting and mood of the shoot, and coordinating that with the song as it progressed. Stian and Mathias had the main vision for the visual aspect, and we all contributed with ideas on how to make it as good as possible. With this single we’re trying to set the stage of where we are and what is to come. From an audience perspective we’re more experimental this time around, but at the same time more focused on a set vision and concept than ever before. I’m very proud to share this with the world!”
The Flock EP was planned to become a short concept story written by Mathias. Inspired by poet John Donne, it focuses on themes such as solitary survival, family, independence and societal humanity. Mathias comments, “No Man Isle centers around a middle-aged divorced man that decides to cut all ties with the world, and to live on his family’s deserted island for the rest of his life. He travels to the island and a lot of mysterious things happen that seem to be connected to his uncle’s disappearance from the island 40 years earlier.” The musical vision behind the EP saw the band turn to a slightly more melodic direction, while taking the song arrangements to the next level, while aspiring to become larger than life. Mathias states, “The songs are perhaps more melodic and to the point this time around with more distilled, focused details added to each song. There’s also a maritime retro vibe going on with the added synth arrangements that make the songs pop out more and sound a bit bigger, epic and unique.” No Man Isle was also a great opportunity for Haunted By Silhouettes to take their unique death metal sound – down a heavier path. Their method of writing, demoing, and finally recording the album was an experience to remember. Stian recalls, “We wanted to tune down from drop-C to drop-A to make the sound heavier. Per Kristian and I wrote a bunch of riffs and then the whole band took a trip to a cabin in the mountains of Norway to write 7 demo tracks for the EP. From those seven, five songs ended up on the EP.”
Philadelphia based extreme metallers IATT are gearing up for the release of the band’s highly anticipated new album “Magnum Opus“, which will be coming out on March 25 via Black Lion Records. Just exclusively premiered via Decibel Magazine, IATT have shared a brand new video clip for the track “Seven Wandering Stars” (featuring Jake Superchi from UADA).
The band comments:
“Seven Wandering Stars is sure to haunt the listener with its infectious melodies and a hook that is brimming with epic grandeur. The song’s poetic search for enlightenment and evolution is carried by a relentless and rhythmic strike while featuring hexes evoked by the endless chants of Jake Superchi (UADA).“
Meticulously crafted to pick up thematically where its predecessor left off, on “Magnum Opus” the listener is catapulted from the 1700s (Arsenic Ways) further back in time to a much darker, older world and the esoteric sciences of Alchemy. It was in this time man aimed to harness the world around him, bending the natural elements in a quest to obtain power, knowledge, control, and even immortality itself. Alchemy was the key to unlocking the secrets of existence and elevating one’s self to the pinnacle of enlightenment through transmutation and manipulation of the earthly elements. It was only through the process of Magnum Opus (the great work) that alchemists could harness the elementals in their purest form to create the Philosopher’s Stone – the key to power, enlightenment, and immortality.
Just as in alchemy itself, creating this album has been a journey of transformation; a period of great growth as individuals and as a unit. It’s through adversity, struggles, and the forging of the elements – of literal blood, sweat, and tears – IATT strive to transcend and elevate to their highest self, “the great work”, “Magnum Opus“.
“Magnum Opus” was produced by Joe Cantamessa and got mixed and mastered by Marcos Cerutti. Stunning cover artwork by Nightjar art of Adam Burke. Furthermore, the album features guest performances by musicians from UADA, RIVERS OF NIHIL, EMPEROR, WINDFAERER + more.
The album is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION
March 4th will see the release of Neuroplasticity, the debut album by Danish Black Metal act HELGE. Coming your way through the hands of Vendetta Records and featuring ten tracks, HELGE have created a bleak and sorrowful universe, taking the listener on an emotional journey through the dark abysses of the human inner. In support of their upcoming album, the band has released a brand new video clip for the track “Depressive Waters”.
Helge Nørbygaard comments:
“When your head is spinning and thoughts so dark becomes your reality. Trying to release the pain and the skin becomes red. So far away from the heart, nothing but hate and despair. Then it’s all about how much you listen to your own heart, either you rise up or become history.“
Founded by Helge Nørbygaard, who is also the main songwriter of the band, Neuroplasticity is a true testament to his inner demons. Going through tough times like addiction, depression and stress, he made music his teacher and therapist, and from the day he heard Black Metal for the first time, back in 1995, he knew that someday he would write music just like that. Neuroplasticity is a journey, facing his demons and conquering them, getting closer to the core of what he truly is. Together with well experienced musicians from acts like Autumn Leaves, Inbreeding Rednecks, Funeral Chasm & CorVacante, HELGE are by far no strangers to the scene and with Neuroplasticity the band delivers an unforgetable debut, which is sure to obliterate fans of blackened sounds everywhere.
Neuroplasticity will be released on March 4th and is available for pre-order via Vendetta Records or Bandcamp
