NECRONOMICON Reveal Video Teaser for “Invictus” on Vinyl

First time on vinyl, the seventh full-length studio album “Invictus” by legendary German Thrash Metallers NECRONOMICON, coming out February 18th, via Total Metal Records/G.U.C. Records.

Today has been revealed a video teaser for “Invictus” on vinyl, watch it below.

Old-school Thrash Metal with a modern production! Band got a hell of a lot more pedigree than a lot of people realize. After hitting the scene during the first wave of Teutonic Thrash Metal, alongside their more famous contemporaries Destruction and Kreator, these guys seemed to fade very quickly into near-total obscurity. It wasn’t for a lack of output, rather it was a lack of the luck. They’ve been nothing if not persistent though, because aside from a hiatus at the latter end of the 90s, Necronomicon have diligently plugged away at supplying a steady string of always respectable releases over the years. Amongst them, this 2012 effort ranks quite highly indeed.

What becomes quickly evident when listening to “Invictus” is how much more refined the new Necronomicon’s approach is. This album certainly represents the zenith of the progression they have undergone over the years. Gone is the rough appeal, and in its place you’ll find first-rate songwriting and a highly professional, up-to-date production style. What’s impressive is that in the process, they have managed to retain most of the manic energy that German Thrash Metal is so renowned for, even if it has become a little watered down by influences from the American Bay Area scene. The trade-off actually results in a much more interesting album. Stylistically speaking, this is straight-up Thrash Metal!!

“Invictus” is the album that manages to hold its own against some of the best Thrash Metal releases of the past years!!!

Pre-order HERE.

Comes in Gatefold Sleeve, with printed Innersleeve and Poster.

Available as:
Limited Edition to 200 copies on Black Vinyl;
Limited Edition to 200 copies on Blue Vinyl;

Release date: February 18, 2022 via Total Metal Records/G.U.C. Records.

More on NECRONOMICON

One moment that will undoubtedly go down in the annals of Thrash Metal history occurred in Germany at August of 1984, when four young men, Volker “Freddy” Fredrich, Lars “Lala” Honeck, Jürgen “Jogi” Weltin and Axel Strickstrock, decided to launch what was to become the countries’ cult Thrash Metal Band – NECRONOMICON.

Recognizing the urban character and Punk roots that made the band so original, fans and media alike responded enthusiastically to the debut album, “Necronomicon” (1986), which caught the attention of the Thrash Metal scene and garnered not only praise for the band, but also created the solid foundations of a fan base, that has remained with the band throughout the years.

NECRONOMICON’s second album, “Apocalyptic Nightmare”, was released 1987 and interest in the band continued to grow significantly worldwide, with South America, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and Soviet Union becoming strongholds. The hit singles, “Magic Forest”, “Dark Land” and “Possessed by Evil”, have become Thrash Metal classics and taken on cult status.

The legendary album, “Escalation” (1988), earned Punk Thrashers name “Thrash Cult”, climbing to the Top 30 in the Rock Charts in Greece…

…Sadly, NECRONOMICON’s future was not to be plain sailing, and the hard crash is came. After the release of their fourth album, “Screams” (1994), the band loosed all their equipment when the rehearsal room burned to the ground. To make matters worse, the new label disappeared shortly after releasing the album, and the band was cheated. The label went bankrupt, money was misappropriated, and there were burglaries and fires. Label’s lack of support and inconsistencies caused many problems, and the band forced to go through a long and expensive court case in order to regain ownership of its own name. But twiddling their thumbs and surrendering to fate was not really in the nature of NECRONOMICON. So they went through a long and costly legal process, shed perhaps a few tears, and finally got their rights reinstated after 3 years and started again… the stage was set for a full onslaught!

NECRONOMICON’s determination pushed the band forward, and after the demo “Possessed Again!” (2000) came the highly acclaimed fifth album, “Construction Of Evil”, in 2004. The outstanding reviews were a soothing balm on the band’s wounds as they watched it rise to Number 6 in the Spanish charts. The fans got crazy and begged for more.

“Revenge Of The Beast” came out worldwide in 2008 and was the first release under a foreign label. The press finally brought the band out of the “shadow of other Thrash Greats”, making it into the top 20 of several Rock Charts and going on to capture many new hearts whilst on tour in Europe and Russia.

The line-up has several changes through the years; co-founders Jogi, Lala and Axel were unable to continue with the band through either health or personal reasons, leaving Freddy as the only original member, and he made NECRONOMICON his life’s purpose and passion…

In 2012, the highly anticipated album, “Invictus”, came on the market and caused quite a stir. The press totally rolled over with praise and showed that the title “Thrash Cult” was not just a nice footnote. With “Invictus”, NECRONOMICON’s individuality and skill in terms of song writing goes from strength to strength, exceeding all expectations with a full sound and terrific production.

The eighth album titled “Pathfinder… Between Heaven And Hell” (2015) finished at 11th place overall in Metal Hammer Magazine and was voted one of the best Metal albums in 2015 in South America.

During 2016-2017, NECRONOMICON played Total Metal Over Europe Tour, visiting Poland, Czech, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, as well as played several shows in Germany. In June 2017 band played Argentinean tour; and in May 2018 NECRONOMICON headline SinFest in Malta.

The last to date album, “Unleashed Bastards”, was released in September 2018. The part of tracks from the new album, as well as old and well known rockers, was appeared in band’s set-lits of the Total Metal Over Europe – Unleashed Bastards Tour 2019, runned through Poland, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Czech, Serbia, Bulgaira and Italy.
Let there be no doubt in anyone’s mind – NECRONOMICON has never been stronger!!

CORNERS OF SANCTUARY Release Powerful Cover of Def Leppard’s ‘Mirror, Mirror’

Traditional Heavy Metal rockers, CORNERS OF SANCTUARY (COS), have recently dropped their first-ever cover song with the release of the classic 1981 Def Leppard track, “Mirror, Mirror (Look into My Eyes).” The single is now available as a free download exclusively from the band’s website, www.cornersofsanctuary.com and Inner Demon Media.

“Frankie (Cross) suggested us doing this particular track,” said COS guitarist Mick Michaels. “We talked about doing something that people wouldn’t expect…something from Def Leppard…but not any of the more well-known tracks. It’s a powerful and moving song and definitely plays into the COS vibe.”

Corners of Sanctuary swings a weighty axe to deliver a completely exceptional and atmospheric take on Def Leppard’s “Mirror, Mirror” concept by adding their own expressive arrangement to both the bridge and solo sections while keeping to the song’s original emotional framework.

“We definitely wanted to do something that made it more like a Corners of Sanctuary song,” said Michaels. “Taking some artistic liberties is what the creative process is all about.”

COS teamed up again with legendary L.A. producer and former Metal Blade Records’ engineer, Bill Metoyer (Slayer, W.A.S.P., Armored Saint) to have “Mirror, Mirror” mastered. The track is now available as a free MP3 download.

A similarly poignant music video was also released to accompany the single.

“Doing a cover was never really something we considered for real,” Michaels added. “But it’s something new for us and we had a great time working on it…we hope everyone likes it.”

With 2022 in full gear, Corners of Sanctuary has already begun work on new music, including material for their next full-length album, “Vengeance of the Fallen,” and has a small string of shows scheduled for the winter which includes performances with The Rods’ drummer Carl Canedy’s solo band, Canedy and former Misfits’ guitarist Doyle.  See schedule below.

This past summer, progressive metal giants JINJER released their most in-demand and successful album yet, Wallflowers, subsequently hitting the top of the charts all around the globe. Then just last week, JINJER reached yet another milestone – joining the first leg of the 2022 Knotfest Roadshow in North America to support metal legends Slipknot with fellow special guests In This Moment. The first leg of the tour kicks off in Fargo, ND on March 16 and hits an additional 17 cities before wrapping up in Vancouver, BC on April 17. Tickets are on sale now!

Today, JINJER is thrilled to announce new headline dates surrounding their Knotfest Roadshow run. New stops have been added in markets such as St. Louis, MO, Boise, ID, Indianapolis, IN and many more. Tickets go on sale this Thursday at 10:00 AM Eastern time – see below for all dates!

JINJER’s Eugene Abdukhanov says about their upcoming North American tour:
“20 years ago or so, Slipknot shocked the world, along with four Ukrainian kids who would later become JINJER! There was nobody like them before. This band proved that you don’t need to go pop radio to get big. Their sound revolutionized heavy music. Joey’s drumming changed the game! Thomson and Root’s riffs are what we learned to play the guitar with. In many ways, Slipknot became role models to us, and we followed in their footsteps. For this reason and many more, now being able to tour with this monster of a band means so much to us! We cannot wait to get out there on Knotfest Roadshow 2022. See you there.”

JINJER‘s exceptional precision of modern metal paired with tough as nails attitude has earned them a fiercely loyal, rabid fanbase and massive critical acclaim, making JINJER one of the most talked about bands today and garnering them many sold out performances across the globe.

Since announcing Wallflowers, the band has graced numerous renowned international magazine covers, booked the biggest stories, sold out countless tour dates and their first two new singles, “Vortex” and “Mediator”, both cracked the multi-million stream mark in no time. The new album not only presents a methodical and premeditated next step in the band’s already imposing career, but moreover, it mirrors the personal adversities they’ve faced due to the worldwide events of the last year. Wallflowers is not only an upgrade to the progressive groove metal sound that all JINJER fans crave, but also a sonic pressure cooker of technical musicianship, emotional fury and an intense soundtrack befitting the harrowing state of the world today. Hailing from the conflict-ridden Ukrainian region of Donetsk but now calling Kiev their home base, JINJER truly do not mince words – or riffs – on Wallflowers.

CRYSTAL VIPER Announce Special Long-MLP “The Last Axeman”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 25, 2022

If you are serious about Heavy Metal, then most likely CRYSTAL VIPER doesn’t need an introduction. The band was founded by the singer and guitarist Marta Gabriel, and released its debut album in 2007. Since then, they toured in more than 15 countries, played in both tiny clubs and at huge open air festivals, released 8 studio albums, and bunch of singles. So one thing is sure: they are one of the most hard working and most determined bands of their generation.

Their newest release, “The Last Axeman”, officially is a Mini-LP, but it actually includes more material than many full length albums. Side A starts with a new version of the early CRYSTAL VIPER classic and fan favorite: “The Last Axeman”, and is followed by a brand new song entitled “In The Haunted Chapel” (which like all the songs from the newest album “The Cult” has lyrics inspired by an H.P. Lovecraft story). The band knows their brand of Metal very well, so the MLP includes a surprise cover song: remake of “Ulitsa Roz”, originally recorded by the Russian Heavy Metal heroes ARIA. All those 3 songs are exclusive and will be available on this MLP only, Side A however includes one more bonus song: remake of “It’s Electric”, the classic headbanger of the NWOBHM heroes DIAMOND HEAD. Side B includes 4 songs taken from “The Cult” album, but recorded live in studio, as part of the #RockOutSessions series. These new, stripped down and rough versions of “The Cult”, “Asenath Waite”, “Whispers From Beyond” and “Flaring Madness”, show the pure and untamed energy of the band, and were also released as a 20 minutes long music video which can be seen here:

CRYSTAL VIPER “The Last Axeman” LP / CD / Digital, Out on March 25, 2022, on Listenable Records.

Tracklist:
1. The Last Axeman (2022)
2. In The Haunted Chapel
3. Улица Роз / Ulitsa Roz (ARIA cover)
4. It’s Electric (DIAMOND HEAD cover)
5. The Cult (live in studio)
6. Asenath Waite (live in studio)
7. Whispers From Beyond (live in studio)
8. Flaring Madness (live in studio)

VEIN.FM Share New Song ‘Fear In Non Fiction’ Feat. THURSDAY’s Geoff Rickly

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 25, 2022
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: VEIN.FM. Leave a comment

VEIN.FM will release their new album “This World Is Going to Ruin You” on March 4 via Closed Casket Activities, outside of North America the record is released through Nuclear Blast Records under exclusive license from Closed Casket Activities. Pre-order it here. The album follows 2018’s “Errorzone”.

Today, the band has shared the new track ‘Fear in Non Fiction’. The song features Thursday singer Geoff Rickly.

“VEIN.FM continually give me hope,” says Rickly. “They never stop pushing: pushing the limits of of their sound, pushing themselves to the edge of their physical abilities to make noise. On this album, they incorporate avant-garde elements, socially acute lyrics and wild soundscapes, without ever sacrificing the absolute brutality of their early songs. I’m so excited to be a part of this record — a record that will push us all forward.”

Previously, VEIN.FM shared the video for ‘The Killing Womb‘. Watch it here.
The band also did an exclusive interview with SPIN, detailing the new album. Read it here. The announcement released was heralded by Pitchfork, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, Revolver, Loudwire, MetalSucks, and beyond — a further indication that “This World Is Going to Ruin You” is one of the most anticipated releases of 2022.

“This World Is Going to Ruin You” was recorded with Grammy-winning producer Will Putney of Graphic Nature Audio in April 2020, just weeks into a global shutdown. Featuring guest appearances from artists Geoff Rickly, Jeff Smith, and BONES, as well as the original artwork and typography of Autumn Morgan, “This World Is Going to Ruin You” is a fully-realized version of the band’s darker and more disgusting inception of metallic hardcore.

While the band’s full-length debut “Errorzone” received praise from Pitchfork, which stated that it “sets the tone for one of the year’s most exhilarating heavy records…” “This World Is Going to Ruin You” will be hailed as its own formidable beast. “Every release is like its own universe,” the band explains. “On ‘Errorzone’, we made a departure into another universe, sonically and visually. It was very futuristic and high-energy, and there were lots of elements we tapped into in order to fulfill our vision of that universe.” In that sense, “This World Is Going to Ruin You” is not a return to the band’s roots so much as a more fully realized version of them. “But it’s not a contrived nostalgia trip. We’re just naturally taking that part of the band to a fuller potential,” vocalist Anthony DiDio explains. “‘Errorzone’ was entering another world, while this record is VEIN.FM coming home.“

Lyrically, “This World Is Going to Ruin You” describes the human condition through a birth-to-death timeline. “I was coming from a very anti-social mentality,” DiDio says. “I want people to completely disconnect and have their own personal journey through this album.“

“THIS WORLD IS GOING TO RUIN YOU” TRACK LISTING:
“Welcome Home”
“The Killing Womb“
“Versus Wyoming”
“Fear in Non Fiction”
“Lights Out”
“Wherever You Are”
“Magazine Beach”
“Inside Design”
“Hellnight”
“Orgy in The Morgue”
“Wavery”
“Funeral Sound”

SUICIDE SILENCE have come full circle & returned to their original label home. With nearly two decades of non-stop touring around the globe, hundreds of thousands of records sold and cementing themselves as a lynchpin band in modern extreme metal, the Riverside, California quintet has rejoined the label that released the highly acclaimed albums: “The Cleansing” (2007), “No Time To Bleed” (2009) and “The Black Crown” (2011).

Chris Garza (guitar): “I can’t believe how far we’ve all come since the band began 20 years ago. Today we’re back where it all started; writing music together in the same room where the first three albums were created. We’re incredibly excited to be working with Century Media Records once again as we enter the next chapter of our career.”
