Polish heavy metal act CRYSTAL VIPER has announced the addition of drummer Kuba Galwas to the group’s ranks. „Some of you already met him and heard him playing with us on the last few shows in Spain, Germany, Czech Republic and Poland, so you know he’s a perfect fit!” says CRYSTAL VIPER front woman, Marta Gabriel. „We would also like to thank here all the drummers that auditioned, and sent their videos and messages – all of you guys rock!” she adds.

CRYSTAL VIPER released their last, eight studio album „The Cult” last year via Listenable Records, and earlier this year published special anniversary EP entitled „The Last Axeman”, which is a collection of new songs, re-recordings, cover songs, and which includes 4 songs from „The Cult” album, recorded live in studio. CRYSTAL VIPER also recently joined the official DIAMOND HEAD tribute album „Are We Evil?” which will be released later this year.

Last Summer Marta Gabriel released her first solo album entitled „Metal Queens” (also on Listenable Records), which is a collection of cover songs, and personal tribute to female fronted hard rock & metal acts and female metal vocalists from the ‘80s, such as LEE AARON, WENDY O’ WILLIAMS, WARLOCK, ACID, CHASTAIN, HELLION or ROCK GODDESS.

If you are serious about Heavy Metal, then most likely CRYSTAL VIPER doesn’t need an introduction. The band was founded by the singer and guitarist Marta Gabriel, and released its debut album in 2007. Since then, they toured in more than 15 countries, played in both tiny clubs and at huge open air festivals, released 8 studio albums, and bunch of singles. So one thing is sure: they are one of the most hard working and most determined bands of their generation.

Their newest release, “The Last Axeman”, officially is a Mini-LP, but it actually includes more material than many full length albums. Side A starts with a new version of the early CRYSTAL VIPER classic and fan favorite: “The Last Axeman”, and is followed by a brand new song entitled “In The Haunted Chapel” (which like all the songs from the newest album “The Cult” has lyrics inspired by an H.P. Lovecraft story). The band knows their brand of Metal very well, so the MLP includes a surprise cover song: remake of “Ulitsa Roz”, originally recorded by the Russian Heavy Metal heroes ARIA. All those 3 songs are exclusive and will be available on this MLP only, Side A however includes one more bonus song: remake of “It’s Electric”, the classic headbanger of the NWOBHM heroes DIAMOND HEAD. Side B includes 4 songs taken from “The Cult” album, but recorded live in studio, as part of the #RockOutSessions series. These new, stripped down and rough versions of “The Cult”, “Asenath Waite”, “Whispers From Beyond” and “Flaring Madness”, show the pure and untamed energy of the band, and were also released as a 20 minutes long music video which can be seen here:

CRYSTAL VIPER front woman Marta Gabriel explains: “2021 wasn’t an easy year. We released new studio album “The Cult”, but we managed to play literally 3 live shows only, as our other festival appearances and the European Tour on which we were supposed to promote new album were either postponed or cancelled. So instead, we did few new studio recordings, including full #RockOutSessions recording, where we played 4 songs from “The Cult” in the live, stripped down versions. We decided to release the video version for free – it’s our way of saying thank you to all the fans who are supporting us in those weird times, who bought the new album. The same recording will be later released as Side-B of our special Mini Album, which will be released in the next few months, and which will include few rather big surprises”.

KING DIAMOND guitarist, Andy La Rocque), while the LP version includes a cover of the SATAN classic, “Trial By Fire”.
