THE CHASE Release New Single ‘Set the World to Rights’

Golden Robot Records recently released the latest single from UK rockers THE CHASE titled ‘Death of Me’, a brilliantly crafted rock track and 4-minute rollercoaster, echoing The Beatles’ classic ‘All You Need Is Love’.

The band have today released their new single ‘Set the World to Rights’ on all digital platforms. It is an interesting ballad-esque styled track that they say is a mix of The Beatles, The Bee Gees and Morrissey.

Listen/Buy ‘Set the World to Rights’ HERE

“‘Set the World to Rights’ for me, is our best song yet. I am the most proud of these lyrics out of all of our tracks to date. The song was inspired by classic ballads such as ‘Nobody Loves You’ by John Lennon, ‘Only You Know’ by Dion (not our Dion) and ‘This Guy’s in Love with You’ by Burt Bacharach, but with a real modern feel. The song lyrically is a tale of two sides – the verses speaking about hard times and loneliness but the chorus speaking about finding someone and changing your perspective. It reflects on a particular time in my own life and is a very personal song.” – Tyler Heaney (Vocals)

Reigning from rebel city Nottingham, The Chase fuse Brit-Pop nonchalance with killer 60’s choruses and arena sized rock and roll to make a noise that is truly unique. The Chase began life at the young ages of 8, 10 and 11 when singer, Tyler Heaney, recruited his younger brother Dion, to play drums alongside cousin, Luke Childs, on bass. The band would later be complete when school mate, James Cahill, joined on keys to turn the family trio into a quartet. Inspired by their council estate roots, The Chase named themselves after the very streets on which they were raised and they began their ascent towards capturing the attention of the UK. Well on their way up, they are heading towards their debut performance at Isle of Wight Festival 2021, a sold out 450 capacity hometown show, and a whole heap of other magic yet to be announced.

With a crushing soundtrack that often blurs the lines between stoner rock, sludge, doom metal and grunge elements, MAN IN THE WOODS transport their listeners to dystopian dark new worlds. Fusing together their critically acclaimed, 2018- debut Badlands Part One with the band’s much anticipated successor Badlands Part Two, the four-piece has inked a worldwide deal with Argonauta Records for the release of Badlands in its entirety!

Says Argonauta Records owner, Gero Lucisano: “Massive riffage, and a volcanic sound, you can’t really stay insensible to Man In The Woods songs. I can definitely say it took me only a second to be overwhelmed by their hammering grooves and I am sure you will feel the same with their forthcoming full length. They are full of fire and attitude, and surely a great addition to our roster!”

Their upcoming record will see MAN IN THE WOODS deliver a progressive and colossal journey through a vibrant blend of heavy riffs and a crushing rhythm section while these harsh vocals guide you through the story of Badlands into hopelessness and a bleak, post apocalyptic world. The band, who was formed in 2016, manages to craft a unique mix of hard rocking fuzz and grunge, heavy stoner rock yet brutal sludge and doom metal to create such dark, dystopian and apocalyptic vibe. But give ear, as in support of their upcoming label collaboration, MAN IN THE WOODS just released a first song taken from Badlands! Listen to Icarus Landing here:

Badlands will be released during 2022 through Argonauta Records, with many more news and details to follow soon.

DEATH ANGEL Release Live Video for ‘The Absence of Light’, New Live Album Out Now

Bay Area thrash legends DEATH ANGEL have released their heavily anticipated new live record titled “The Bastard Tracks” today with Nuclear Blast. Recorded live at The Great American Music Hall in their hometown of San Francisco on May 22nd, 2021, and streamed live soon after, “The Bastard Tracks” is a deep cuts collection of rarely and never performed songs from the band’s celebrated catalog that’s available now digitally and on CD and Blu-Ray and will be released on vinyl on April 29th.

In conjunction with the release the band has rolled out the live video for ‘The Absence of Light’, which can be viewed now below.

Commenting on the song, vocalist Mark Osegueda states:
“’Absence of Light’ is a song that I have been championing for since the album that it is on called ‘Relentless Retribution’ was released in 2010. It’s an extremely dark song lyrically that sits on top of this thunderous and driving riff and beat. It is not a fast song by any means. But! It’s HEAVY!! DARK and HEAVY!!!
We finally took the time to re-familiarize ourselves with it and we were all surprised how HEAVY it sounded when we all played it together in the room! I’m pretty confident it will rear it’s DARK and HEAVY head in some future live sets. In front of an actual audience!”

Purchase “The Bastard Tracks” here: https://bfan.link/DeathAngelTBT

Commenting on the record, vocalist Mark Osegueda states:
“When we performed and filmed the songs for ‘The Bastard Tracks’ it was such a crazy time and having missed being able to perform live for so long was taking it’s toll on me to a certain degree as I have been a live performer for the majority of my life..
I must say…It was a pretty dark time. I know it was for so many of us…But! Music once again helped to pull us through it…It was a bit odd performing to no crowd…But! It felt great re-learning some deep tracks and getting on stage with the guys and unleashing this pent up aggression! And the response from everyone who tuned into it suggesting that we release it as an album was overwhelming! Well…Thanks to them here it is! I hope you enjoy it!”

Adding to that, guitarist Rob Cavestany says:
“Choosing and sequencing the songs for ‘The Bastard Tracks’ set list was quite a different trip. All of them had rarely (and in some instances never) been played live. We hadn’t performed in front of a live audience for over a year, the longest ever for this band. It was to be filmed live at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and then broadcast worldwide on the good ol’ inter-web! I could get into that…
From basically re-learning most of these songs to getting them as tight as they should be, we put our energy together and made it happen! I’m thankful for having had this goal to focus on during those (still) crazy earth crisis days. It gave us an important reason to get together at DA Studio and JAM! Literally the only time I’ve felt “normal” since 2020 was while we were jamming! Fortunately we’ve been able to do it a lot. Now, we proudly present the audio and visual recordings of those sessions. Turn it up!
P.S. – We cannot wait to exchange live energy with you as soon as possible!!”
