THE HUMAN TORNADO Sign with Rockshots Records, New Album “Love Is Démodé” Out March 2022

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their latest signing of Italy’s THE HUMAN TORNADO for the release of their upcoming album “Love Is Démodé” on March 11, 2022.

Offering a slab of smashing knock-out heavy groove rock, The Human Tornado has been making shockwaves since forming in 2014 in Bologna, Italy. The band made their debut in 2016 with their first full-length “Storm In A Ketchup” on Hidden Stone Records along with supporting touring bands such as Twelve Foot Ninja, Destrage, and Crazy Town.

The band comments on their signing:
“We are absolutely thrilled to release our new album “Love Is Démodé” with Rockshots Records. They are one of the most influential and active Italian labels dedicated to rock, metal, and all things heavy.“

The Human Tornado‘s sophomore follow-up “Love Is Démodé” was self-produced by the band with mixing and mastering done by Marco Paradisi at Boat Studio. The album will feature ten hurricane tour de force tracks that will leave fans breathless and eager to set the tracklisting on repeat from beginning to end.

“Every song is played with heart and soul and we wanted to explore new sounds, but without forgetting our heavy rock imprint, so we produced an intense groovy album with more melodic openings.” adds the band.

The lyrical concept behind the album is love, one of the strongest feelings of deep affection. It has different aspects and it can be addressed to another person, an animal, or a passion. But, if it’s pure, this doesn’t matter.

The band explains further:
“For some years this feeling of love has been declining, going out of fashion. In fact, in our society finding people loving what they do is increasingly difficult and often image, power, success are the most important aspects of life. Moreover, these goals are more and more often achieved by means of questionable actions and negative feelings. In this album we want to express our idea of love in particular towards music, showing in every single song even the dark and negative sides coming from love in our life.“

The Human Tornado will be revealing tracklisting, album artwork, singles and videos in lead up to the release of “Love Is Démodé“.

MALACODA Release ‘Damage Control’ Lyric Video

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 25, 2021

MALACODA have released their brand new lyric video “Damage Control” which recently premiered via legacy.de here.

The video can also be found at the band’s YouTube channel below.

Malacoda adds –  When we wrote “Damage Control” we just kept trying to make it heavier and heavier each time we revisited the demo. Definitely one of the most aggressive tracks we’ve written, I was working on a lot of death metal at the time and I think it bled into this Malacoda track!

MALACODA’s new album ‘The Year Walk’ will be released on December 3rd.

Originally a recording project of multi-instrumentalist and music producer Lucas Di Mascio, Malacoda has persevered and grown throughout the years. Now a trio, the band is ready to unleash the conclusion to their trilogy of EP’s that was written and recorded before the pandemic.

The Year Walk is the third EP Malacoda will release in 2021. Four more songs which build upon the band’s symphonic sound first explored on 2016’s Ritualis Aeterna.

Long time collaborator Michael Farina returns to play drums on select tracks, as well as Ryan Claxton (Tulip, Living Dead Girl) and Andrew Suarez (ex-The Slyde). The haunting album cover was made by the extremely talented Stefan Skjoedt.

Featuring Gabriel Guardiola (Immortal Guardian) on the track Beaten Path as well as a stellar mixing and mastering job by Jeramie Kling (The Absence, Inhuman Condition, Venom Inc.), The Year Walk encompasses everything the band sought to achieve with this direction and closes a long, arduous chapter in Malacoda’s history.

Frontman Lucas Di Mascio had this to say about The Year Walk:

“The majority of the songs that have been released this year were written around 2017 – before the release of our last full length, Restless Dreams. I didn’t really know what to do with these songs because they were so different from Restless Dreams but still were aligned with the sound we had developed on the EP, Ritualis Aeterna. I shelved them for a bit and then decided to rework them when working with an artist who was endorsed by a big guitar brand.

The artist in question wanted to have some metal material to help promote themselves, so we built a new band for the material. I was actually supposed to be the rhythm guitarist for this project- we had a different singer involved. Unfortunately that project never got off the ground after almost a year of working on it and the songs were shelved yet again. In mid 2019 I revisited the songs and wrote a few more after Zak had joined. We were excited with the material and felt it should be a Malacoda release.

We finished drum tracking right as 2019 was ending. While our initial plans drastically changed because of the pandemic, I decided that we should still release this material but just break it into EP’s so we can keep busy in a time without touring.”

This new EP will be made available as digital only and the band has no intentions to tour in support of this release as they continue to observe COVID-19 restrictions in Canada.

Bob Daisley Talks About How He Convinced MOTLEY CRUE Not To Fire Guitarist Mick Mars

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 25, 2021
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Bob Daisley, The Metal Voice. Leave a comment

The Metal Voice’s Jimmy Kay and Alan Dixon recently interviewed legendary songwriter and bassist Bob Daisley (Rainbow, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath) about his Book ‘For Facts Sake’. Bob has appeared a few times on The Metal Voice going in depth about his career with Gary Moore and  his court proceedings and time with Ozzy.

This time Bob talks about the making of Black Sabbath’s ‘Eternal Idol’, convincing Motley Crue not to fire guitarist Mick Mars, plus writing with Steve Vai for Ozzy and a lot more

When asked about the making of Eternal Idol
“I have never really worked with Tony before this album. Tony is great,  I love his playing, his writing, his sound. Everything that he plays is a classic riff, they just pour out of him and they are just not throw away riffs, they are all really really good valid riffs. It was great for me. I enjoyed it, it was 1986. Eric Singer was on drums and Eric and I got along very well. Ray Gillan was the vocalist (at first). We all got on fine. “

When asked if he wrote the lyrics with Ray Gillan at the time
“Ray had some scratch lyrics written and a couple of the others put bits in. A lot of them (lyrics) weren’t that great. They asked me to write the lyrics for the songs, which I did. There are some lines I left in there of Ray’s. “

When asked about the exit of Ray Gillan
“I don’t know the full circumstances cause I wasn’t with the band at that point but when Ray left I don’t know if there was a fall out or what happened between him and management or Tony or whatever it was. But his vocals have already been recorded but they didn’t use them because they knew that they were replacing him with Tony Martin. So they got Tony Martin to re-do everything and released it that way. It went for years and years without anyone hearing the Ray Gillan’s version. They were Ray Gillan’s melodies and phrasing and that is what came from Ray’s heart. Tony martin did an admirable great job of replacing what Ray had done. The initial thing came from Ray. When you hear Ray’s version, it’s the version.”

When asked if he got paid for Eternal idol
“I did get paid but I was weary of the whole situation because I knew everyone was unhappy and I thought why go into a situation plus I was very happy working with Gary Moore at the time. I think the Sabbath album Eternal Idol is underrated and is a very good album.”

When asked about a seance he did with Randy Rhoads during the Blizzard of Ozz Era
“That rehearsal place was reputed to be haunted and it probably was, there were little things that happened and I wrote about them in the book. I think one night we were in that mood and we would sit down and have a seance and we did the letter and numbers and the glass and all that. Some things came out. It did say things to Randy (Rhoads) that freaked us all out. We threw all the bits of paper and numbers and glass into the fireplace and put salt on the table. Cause it was not a good vibe and it was not good news and was not a good prediction, it was pretty awful.”

When asked about the time he and  Steve Vai  tried to write an Ozzy  album
“That was an honour as well and it was great but it didn’t really work out for Ozzy and Steve Vai for whatever reasons. I don’t know the full details. I was at home and I got the phone call will you come and co-write the next album (Ozzy).  I loved the idea of working with Steve Vai and Ozzy together. So we went to Steve Vai’s studio in L.A. and we began putting down tracks with Steve on some of the stuff and then we went to New York and began writing and rehearsing in the Sony studios. But then all of a sudden it all fizzled out, the plug was pulled. I’ve got some recordings from those sessions. It was mostly me, Steve Vai and the drummer Deen Castronovo a very good drummer.”

When asked how he convinced Motley Crue not to fire Mick Mars
“That night after the show Mick Mars went on our Bus (with Ozzy on the Bark at the Moon tour) and I went on their bus so I was the only one from Ozzy that went on their bus. And they were having a meeting. What they were planning on doing was getting rid of Mick and getting another guitarist in and they asked me for my opinion. So I said if you want my opinion for what it’s worth I would say do not try to fix something that is not broken. I said I have seen it before with Lee Kerslake in the Blizzard of Ozz. I said you got a chemistry there, you got a functioning unit, Mick Mars is part of that don’t Fuc*k it up. Don’t do it.  I think I saved Mick that night cause they were serious about getting someone else. Mick was good for the band, he was part of the sound of the delivery of what they did.”

WOLFNAUT Announce Third Album ‘III’, Out on January 21st

Norwegian rockers WOLFNAUT will release their third album, «III», on January 21st, via independent label Fuzzpanzer, including eight fuzz-heavy songs into the stoner and heavy rock canon.

«III» will be released on all the usual streaming and download platforms and as a limited-edition vinyl.

Forged in the sounds of early hard rock and metal, and the desert and stoner rock scene that exploded in the mid-1990s, WOLFNAUT has since its debut in 1998 made it a quest to investigate the musical landscapes between melodic and hooky twin-guitar based songs, and sludgy and doomy stoner rock. «III» continues in that tradition, but the new album is by all accounts the bands heaviest effort to date. «III» is a pure hard rock affair from start to finish. The full tilt boogie!

«III» was recorded at Audioskop studio, Sofiemyr, Norway, from September 2020 to January 2021. Production was handled by the band, with invaluable help from engineer extraordinaire Bjørn Barstad. Swedish sound wizard Karl Daniel Lidén (Greenleaf, Lowrider, Dozer, Demon Cleaner) was enlisted to mix, master, and put the finishing touches to the album. Friend and eminent graphic designer Morten Budeng created the visuals.

Formed in the summer of 2017, Dutch MOUNTAIN EYE have taken the alternative metal sound that bands like Korn, Linkin Park and Slipknot presented to the world in the beginning of the century and  transformed it to a sound that fits our decade.

MOUNTAIN EYE recently signed to Golden Robot Records / Crusader Records and today have released their first single for the label ‘My Last Winter Trail’ on all digital platforms.

Listen/Buy My Last Winter Trail HERE

‘My Last Winter Trail’ is about releasing oneself physically and spiritually from the demons that try to crush the very essence of who we are and feed on our failures and fears. Musically, the dark synths create an ominous introduction until the song breaks loose into an epic choir-like chorus with pounding drums and melodic guitars. Intricate and technical passages and variations show the incredible depth of the band.

What does it mean to be human? Do we have to become better versions of ourselves? Why is humanity stuck in the same old patterns? With their new single Synopsis, Dutch alternative metal band Mountain Eye take a closer look at these themes.

Formed in the summer of 2017, this band has taken the alternative metal sound that bands like Korn, Linkin Park and Slipknot presented to the world in the beginning of the century and transformed it to a sound that fits our decade.

On their debut album Roads Uncharted, released in January 2019, Mountain Eye explores the extremes of life; the thin line between happiness and sadness that we all experience, and that’s what makes us all human. Roads Uncharted was received positively by the metal press, with 20 positive reviews, as well as online listeners streaming the album over 900k times so far. ‘Synopsis’ was featured on the Spotify official playlist New Blood. Mountain Eye are very proud to announce their signing with Golden Robot Records / Crusader Records!

EPICA Postpone “The Epic Apocalypse Tour” with APOCALYPTICA to 2023

Once again, symphonic metal titans EPICA are forced to reschedule their co-headline tour with Apocalyptica due to the still ongoing restrictions in various countries that make it impossible to plan a 2-month-long tour run across Europe and 17 countries. To ensure the safety of their fans in the crowd, “The Epic Apocalypse Tour” is now postponed to January, February and March of 2023. Previously purchased tickets will remain valid and are available at epica.nl (VIP upgrades also possible).

EPICA singer Simone Simons comments: “We are very sorry to inform you that we have been forced to postpone our European tour with Apocalyptica and Wheel once again. Even though in some countries shows of this size are allowed again, it is too early to do a full European tour with such a large production and travel party which would be performing in over 15 different countries. Our patience is put to the test as we really want to get back on the road to perform in front of our fans, but we want to be sure that everyone is safe and can enjoy the shows the right way. Thank you all so much for your patience! We will see each other soon again.”

APOCALYPTICA adds: “We are more than disappointed to announce the postponement of ‘The Epic Apocalypse’ Tour once again, but looking on the current situation we cannot take the responsibility to play these shows. We do not want to put anyone at risk and are very much looking forward to play these shows in 2023 where we can hopefully go back to playing shows like we did before! We hope to see you soon! Stay safe!”
