GHOSTASTIC Release New EP ‘Don’t Stand So Close To Me’ And Video ‘The New Revelation’, Announce Live Performance

From hobby to obsession, raw to mega production, here and the afterlife, GHOSTASTIC is an ominous, all-encompassing presentation of sounds and experiences written, performed, and produced by Adamo Fiscella. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, and with a wide range of influences (both old and new), such as NIN, Nero, Skeler, and Deftones, Ghostatic is a vocally driven, modern take on industrial/electronic rock.

“The music presents itself as medicated bipolarism,” explains Adamo. “On one side, instrumentally, it is exotic, pulling from various genres of electronic music such as hardwave, ambient bass, and dubstep. On the other side, it is song driven with the vocals taking the forefront. The vocals keep the songs glued together – accompanied by heavy rock breakdowns weaved in. It’s hard to put into a genre. Some of the subject matter relates to what it’s like to die and what the afterlife might be like. Which is something I’m passionate about as I host/produce a TV show about the paranormal on Paraflixx.”

And soon, Ghostastic will be making their live debut (as Adamo will be joined on stage by Todd Schwarts – guitar, Gavin Ker – bass and keys, and Bailee Neville – drums). “The live show is a raw version of what the studio tracks sound like. Having a live drum set and more guitars replacing certain melodies and percussion that otherwise would have been synthetic.  We’re stoked to announce our first live show is happening December 18th at Avenue Taphouse in Lakewood, Ohio with our friends from Impending Lies. We are the outlier on the bill. Our sound isn’t exactly rock nor EDM. Somewhere in between. We’re paving our own path. It can be a lonely one. But the fans reassure us. It is worth it.” Tickets to the show can be purchased at https://fb.me/e/1S3xPrv5M).

Also recently released was an eye-popping music video for the song “The New Revelation” (which can be viewed below), as well as the release of an EP. “The EP, ‘Don’t Stand So Close To Me,’ was titled by the cover I did by The Police. Which is the second track. It is an ominous departure from the original, with many parts completely reworked. ‘The New Revelation’ is the first track, and single, from the EP. It’s heavy…imagine if NIN came out in 2021. ‘I’m Lost,’ the third track, is an electronic powerhouse with a big drop, then smacks you with a rock transition out of nowhere. It’s full of detailed editing and atmosphering/exotic synthwork. Imagine what it is like to die. ‘Far From Here,’ the fourth and final track, is exactly where it takes you. It’s a cinematic rock/electronic song built for a soundtrack about the last moments of the end of everything as we know it. It is in a 6/4 time signature. I love writing in odd timing.”

And if that wasn’t enough, next year is shaping up to be a busy one for Ghostastic. “2022 is already looking interesting with a few festivals, and a possible tour, in the spring. We’ll have more deets in the coming weeks.”

Folk Prog Rockers LUMSK Sign with Dark Essence Records

Dark Essence Records have inked a deal with Folk Prog Rockers, LUMSK, a band that describes itself as:

A seven headed “troll” that combines traditional or traditional-inspired elements from Norwegian folklore and poetry with progressive rock and metal.

Formed in 1999 In Trondheim, Norway, LUMSK set out to explore the concept of regional folk traditions, as did many European heavy metal bands towards the end of the 20th Century.  So great, in fact, was that interest, and its ensuing popularity amongst fans,  that, by the first decade of the new Millennium, it had burgeoned into a significant sub-genre all of its own.

You could, in fact, go as far as to say that LUMSK was probably one of the first bands that had been “built for folk” from the ground up,  with heavy guitars, keyboard and organs, violins, session horns and female vocals.

LUMSK’s debut album “Åsmund Frægdegjævar” appeared  in 2003 and was based on the saga of Åsmund Frægdegjævar, who traveled from Ireland to save the princess from trolls.  A year later In 2004 LUMSK  began  a collaboration with the author Birger Sivertsen, an expert on Norwegian folklore and sagas, which led to the release of 2005’s album “Troll” whose were lyrics based on Nordic mythology.   The band’s third album, 2007’s “Det Vilde Kor”,  this time featured  lyrics by Norwegian author, and holder of a Nobel Prize in Literature,  Knut Hamsun.

The band’s fourth full-length album has been a while in the making, with LUMSK entering the studio as early as 2010 to begin work on “Fremmede Toner”, a collection of poems by Norwegian  author Andre Bjerke. After a series of setbacks and delays,  which has served to make the album even more anticipated than before, work on “Fremmede Toner” is well underway, and is scheduled for release on Dark Essence Records in 2022, on a date as yet to be confirmed.

Which brings us to today, and today’s lineup, which, following a myriad of comings and goings over the years since LUMSK’s inception, is comprised of Mari Klingen  on Vocals, Siv Lena Laugtug Sæther on Violin, Eystein Garberg on Guitar, Roar Grindheim on  Guitar, Espen Warankov Godø on Keyboards, Espen Hammer on Bass, and Vidar Berg on drums.

More information about LUMSK can be found on the band’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/lumskmusic

Polish REDEMPTOR -Ft. Current/Ex-Members Of Decapitated, Vader, Hate, Banisher, And More – To Release “Agonia” Album; ‘Potion Of The Skies’ Video Playing

Selfmadegod Records presents Agonia, the destructive new album from Krakow, Poland-based death metal outfit REDEMPTOR – uniting current and former members of Decapitated, Vader, Hate, Sceptic, Sothoth, Banisher, Deivos, and more – now confirmed for early December release. The album’s cover art, track listing, preorders, and more have been issued, including a video for the lead single, “Potion Of The Skies.”

REDEMPTOR is back with their first new full-length in four years, the successor to their well-received Arthaneum  album.  Agonia delivers nine new tracks of technical, heavy, and atmospheric death metal heavily influenced by Gorguts, Morbid Angel, Immolation, and Death. With the drums recorded at dMb Studio, the album was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Zed Studios by Tomasz Zalewski (Decapitated, Kat, Deivos), and completed with artwork by the band’s vocalist Michał Xaay Loranc, known from his work for Behemoth, Necrophagist, Nile, Abysmal Tortment, and many more. Additionally, Agonia features guest contributions of viola from Monika Boroni and orchestral arrangement by Dominik Wawak on the song “Debris.”

Alongside the album’s details, Agonia’s lead single, “Potion Of The Skies,” has also been issued through an official video created by Chariot Of Black Moth. Writes guitarist Daniel Kesler with its premiere, ’Potion Of The Skies’ is an intense piece, at the same time showing the more structured face of REDEMPTOR‘s music, a showcase of the sound of Agonia, which is why it is the first one we want to share it. Working on Agonia, we’ve been entirely focused on creating an overwhelming, dark atmosphere. It expresses fear, anguish, and despair. In the flood of strange and bleak arrangements, the peculiarity floats inertly towards the abyss.”

Watch REDEMPTOR’s official video for “Potion Of The Skies” HERE.

Selfmadegod Records will release Agonia on December 3rd on CD, LP, and digital platforms. Watch for preorders to post at selfmadegod.com this week.

Stand by for additional new singles and more to post over the days ahead preceding the release of Agonia.

Agonia Track Listing:
1. Tectonic Plates
2. Potion Of The Skies
3. TAR
4. Further From Ordeal
5. Excursus Ignis
6. Aurora
7. Debris
8. Wounds Unhealed
9. Les Ruines De Pompei

REDEMPTOR was formed in 2001 by Daniel Kesler (Only Sons, Sothoth ex-Sceptic), recording two demos in its first lineup. The debut album, None Pointless Balance, was recorded in 2005, while the band played many concerts, paving the way for a new chapter of their activity.

2007 brought with it revolutionary changes in the lineup, with well-known Polish artists such as vocalist Michał Xaay Loranc (responsible for the graphics of Nile, Pestilence, and many others), drummer Jakub Chmura (Sceptic, Thy Disease), guitarist Konrad Rossa (Decrepit Birth, Decapitated, Sothoth), and bassist Andrzej Pichlinski (Privateer) joining the band, recording the new demo, Nanosynthesis, performing together through 2010.

In 2011, Hubert Więcek (Banisher, ex-Decapitated, ex-Acid Drinkers) replaced Konrad Rossa on guitar and Piotr Tokarz joined on bass. In this lineup, REDEMPTOR played many concerts and recorded the 4th Density EP. In 2014, longtime drummer Jakub Chmura left the band, his place was taken by Kerim Lechner (ex-Decapitated, Septicflesh) as session drummer, and recording on the band’s self-released second full-length, The Jugglernaut, which was very positively received by fans and critics alike.

The next few years of the band’s activity marked a new era and a significant change of musical direction. In 2017 the band signed with Polish label Selfmadegod Records, releasing their third album, Arthaneum. At this time, Paweł Pavulon Jaroszewicz – then performing with Vader, Decapitated, Hate, and Antigama – became the new drummer, and Arthaneum was realized as the band’s greatest success, the album receiving enthusiastic reviews and greatly expanding their fanbase.

In 2018, Selfmadegod released The Becoming [2005-2011], a collection of REDEMPTOR recordings which compiles a reissue of None Pointless Balance, the Nanosynthesis demo, and the 4th Density EP. Now, as 2021 draws to a close, the band delivers their massive Agonia LP via Selfmadegod, with drums recorded by Daniel Rutkowski (Hate) bass from Kamil Stadnicki (Deivos, Ulcer, Only Sons).

Guns, Jefferson Starship and many more.

The band are currently working on new music with the producer Pablo Valero, formerly of the legendary Mexican rock band Santa Sabina.

PERSEFONE to Release Napalm Records Debut “Metanoia” on February 4th

Andorra’s own extreme progressive metal unit PERSEFONE is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of their long-awaited Napalm Records debut, entitled metanoia. Scheduled for release on February 4, 2022, metanoia crosses genre boundaries with ease, mesmerizing the listener with dynamic songwriting and technical precision and proving PERSEFONE’s worthy position as longstanding favorites of progressive metal!

Featuring collaborations with standout artists like Steffen Kummerer (Obscura, Thulcandra), Einar Solberg (Leprous), Angel Vivaldi and Merethe Soltvedt (Two Steps From Hell), metanoia exploits the full potential of contrasts in every song, with each track representing a story evolving from beginning to end and constantly growing in strength – redefining typical musical boundaries. Mixed by David Castillo (Leprous, Soen, Opeth) and mastered by Tony Lindgren (Enslaved, Ihsahn, Sepultura), the new full-length stretches over 10 songs, each appearing to glide seamlessly from one to the next.

First single “Merkabah” promises an intense ride that reveals both the heaviest and most vulnerable sides of PERSERFONE. An atmospheric entrance carries Miguel Espinosa’s deep, majestic voice, transitioning into an interplay of Marc Martins evil growls and Miguel’s clean vocals. Flickering guitar riffs front a spherical orchestra, spanning the song’s intensity to its maximum. PERSEFONE guide progressive metal to a new chapter!

PERSEFONE on “Merkabah”:
“metanoia is all about a musical journey for a spiritual breakthrough. Merkabah is a vehicle to elevate, Merkabah asks for meditation and trust in the process. With this song we wanted to mark a pivotal moment in the album and write about a personal detour from the old self, a painful and needed transformation to reach new heights, to leave fear behind, to embrace life as the amazing experience we have been gifted with… “on my knees, I still believe”.”

Outstanding progressive/melodic death metal outfit PERSEFONE is known for their band of rich soundscapes and technically precise work that sets new standards in modern extreme progressive metal. Founded in 2001, PERSEFONE has released five studio albums, each one showcasing the band’s myriad of musical principles: high technicality, distinct melodies, plenty of head-turning riffs and musical acrobatics. The band has toured worldwide with notable acts like Obituary and Leprous, has hit stages at important festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Metal Days, Brutal Assault, ProgPower and 70,000 Tons of Metal, and is now set to release their new album, metanoia!

metanoia sets off with the opulent opener “Katabasis”, drawing dramatic, cinematic soundscapes mixed with electronic influences. The soft, clear vocals of Miguel Espinosa alternate with sharp growls and pierce through constantly changing riffs. PERSEFONE balances soft passages with intense walls of sound on tracks like “Aware of Being Watched” – in which clean vocals and jazzy sections alternate with intense riffing carried by dense drumming – while solid, rich sound takes on orchestral dimensions on songs such as “Leap of Faith”. Vivid and dynamic instrumentation, tempo and rhythm make up the intense ride “Merkabah”, showcasing the band’s hardest yet most vulnerable sides as screams and blast beats are followed by soft instrumentation – spanning the song’s intensity to its maximum. A special surprise is the 11-minute masterpiece “Consciousness Pt III”, which continues a series of songs from the band’s fourth album Spiritual Migration (2013). The album closes with another opulent set of songs, “Anabasis Part I”, “Anabasis Part II” and “Anabasis Part III”. “Anabasis Part I” starts off with calm, dreamy piano sounds, drifting over to the intense “Anabasis Part II” and leading seamlessly into “Anabasis Part III”, gently closing the album with a cinematic outro.

PERSEFONE about the new album:
“metanoia is the next step in our personal pursuit for existential growth through music. This album is a call for a deep change, a call for an inner journey through fear and pain, a call for a leap into a meaningful and rooted place. Making this album has forced us to face many  musical and personal hurdles and fears, and the result of that confrontation lives within all the notes and words captured on this new chapter in our journey.  May you will find meaning in all this musical chaos.”

TEMPERANCE Release Captivating New Album Title Track “Diamanti”

After releasing “Pure Life Unfolds” & “Breaking The Rules Of Metal”, symphonic metal powerhouse TEMPERANCE reveals their upcoming album’s title track “Diamanti”. With the third single, the band enters the final round before the eponymous album arrives.

On “Diamanti”, TEMPERANCE show off their versatile skillset with a mix of heavy guitar riffs, orchestral strings and the vocal harmonies of its authentic Italian chorus. As a special highlight and to celebrate their new album, the band will release this song in five! different versions. Besides the Italian original which is out today, the track will come with a chorus in different languages (German, English, Spanish and French) to be available at digital streaming and download platforms on the album release date. TEMPERANCE delights the fans with their perfect mixture melodic and symphonic soundscapes. “Diamanti” is yet just another example of the band’s ability to create an epic tale for their listeners, accompanied by powerful and energetic vocals.

Michele Guaitoli (vocals, piano) on the new single:
“We’ve been taught that diamonds are the purest gems in this world. They’re so pure that they can’t be bent or broken. They’re almost indestructible. They’re valuable and also intangible: they inspire hope.
The diamonds that rain throughout this beautiful song signify hopes for a better world, hopes for our dreams to come true, hopes for peace and joy. Since hopes are timeless and have no borders, we wanted to make this song flow through many languages. We wanted to use the language of music, which I represent in the video. The language of nature, which Marco represents in the video. The language of arts and beauty, which Alessia represents in the video. And we wanted everyone to understand the meaning of this song, even those who cannot listen to it but can use their eyes to read the message. Hopes are forever, hopes are for everyone.”

Diamanti was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Epica, Amaranthe), with the cover artwork once again created by Yann Souetre (Ayreon).

Marco Pastorino (vocals, guitar) on the new album:
“With Diamanti, we’ve managed to combine our best qualities and select the best TEMPERANCE songs so far.  It’s not our heaviest album, it’s not our fastest work, but surely it’s our favourite one so far!
We weren’t necessarily supposed to record a new album only one year after Viridian, but luckily we made it! In this album you will find our trademarks: the vocal harmonies, the catchy melodies, but also epic stuff, strong arrangements, and long tracks – I am very proud of Diamanti and I am convinced we have written a bombastic album!”

Tracklist:

  1. Pure Life Unfolds
  2. Breaking The Rules of Heavy Metal
  3. Diamanti
  4. Black Is My Heart
  5. Litany Of The Northern Lights
  6. You Only Live Once
  7. I The Loneliness
  8. Codebreaker
