MARTIN RUBASHOV Releases New Single And Music Video ‘Pillars’ Feat. Sofia Westlin

With the characteristic combination of folk tones, acoustic guitars and a singing voice that is both rough and fragile at the same time, MARTIN RUBASHOV paints cinematic sceneries for the listener of being a seeking wanderer in the deep forest of the Swedish forests of Hälsingland. In the distance, the sun falls through the pines that create a warm contrast against the dark trees. The ground is covered with cold muddy moss and the dew lies like unshaded smoke over lingonberry and uprooted trees. You hear the sound of something moving in the dark. Eyes are watching you vigilantly from the crowns of the trees and you can sense something or someone insidious through the light morning fog. The environment is timeless, as a world of your own imagination in a dull future dystopia, with a shimmering streak of hope twined as a golden thread in the dark web.

Big trees, massive mountains and deep waters are some of the factors that frequently lure Martin Rubashov into the forest. The tangible awareness of being a small part of something bigger helps him to stay close to the feeling of what is truly and authentic. In 2018, Martin Rubashov released his latest album ‘The Nature Script’. In 2020, Martin Rubashov returned with the single release ‘Lights of July’ featuring Jonas Renkse (Katatonia), and was followed up by the second single ‘Goblin’ (sep 24th 2021). Next up is the third and last single ‘Pillars’ before the album release in 2022.

In November 12th, Rubashov release ‘Pillars‘, the third single of the upcoming album ‘Members of the Green Phlox‘. Martin‘s paths leads him through the forest where he finds finer places for the music to express itself in the right way, this time with the beautiful single ‘Pillars‘ featuring Sofia Westlin, who’s living in Martins hometown in Hälsingland and is well-known with the mesmerizing nature there where Martin finds his inspiration. Martin Rubashov about the single:
“Pillars are trees. The magical surroundings and those secret paths. About hidden treasures and those old places where people has lived their dreams. About the fear of losing nature to the bad ones. Trees.. they even stand tall when they are dying. Nurture nature and heal yourself.” // Martin Rubashov

Stream/Download ‘Pillars’ on optional platform: https://ingrv.es/pillars-znw-k

The upcoming album ‘Members of the Green Phlox‘ will be acoustic and dream-like with the sounds of nature weaved into the soundscape. Martin describes the music as “The feeling of landing on a cold but inspiring and encouraging world, inside a warm pine forest.” He continues “I’ll use my twelve stringed guitar a lot more and I have written the majority of the material, I still haven’t left the forest and I’ll stay here when it comes to my music. I want to widen my view more. Wander deeper into the forest. Build sounds to connect the songs and record more of nature to tie into the lyrics that take place here.”

More about Martin Rubashov
Martin Rubashov has previously released three albums and several EP’s via Despotz Records and he continues proven himself of being a poet and great musician. With critically acclaimed songs such as Hideout, Muddy Mountain King and Black Elk (featuring Anders Fridén, In Flames), Martin shows his gift of being able to invite the listeners into his love for nature and the seductive forces of the forests, both good and evil.

Steve Brockmann (Vision of Choice, Airs – A Rock Opera) has released the 7th single ‘Constance Evermore’ from his project BROCKMANN’S GUESTHOUZE.

Steve: “The song is called “Constance Evermore”, written with my long time writing partner, lyricist George Andrade. I maybe would describe it as ‘proggy hardrock/metal meets The Beatles’, haha, but what do I know?”

Guest on this song is American guitarist Jeff Lane (Heart of Cygnus), who contributed a blistering guitar solo.

“Brockmann’s Guesthouze” is a home for individual songs that are not intended for any of my current projects (like Vision of Choice) – I can record them when I feel like it, without any pressure and without any stylistic boundaries. At the moment I plan to release a new song every month by Christmas and have at least one guest singer and / or instrumentalist with me.”

“Constance Evermore” is available for purchase on Bandcamp, HERE.

Steve Brockmann, born in 1965 in Kiel (near Hamburg) Germany, has played an active role in Northern Germany’s music scene since the early 1980s. Being the creative head of various bands, he has played gigs on many stages between Germany’s most popular holiday island Sylt (up in the very North) and the orchards of Lower Saxony. Amongst others, he has played support gigs for such rock legends as Uriah Heep, Moody Marsden Band, and Hawkwind. After having spent some time roaming the North and living out his own rock ’n’ roll movie, Steve has since “retired” from the road to mainly concentrate on composing original music for his various projects in his personal studio.

The Dallas, TX  band EMPIIRES is a modern rock/metal band bringing their unique brand of fist-pumping metal to growing audiences across Texas.  We last heard from the band Empiires (TLG/INgrooves label) during the lockdown year, as they were putting out a series of killer new singles and videos, and grinding hard to hone their songcraft.

ALESTORM Guitarist Máté Bodor to Release Debut Solo Album “Oh Wow!”, New Song ‘The Forgotten Ones’ Out Now

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 14, 2021

Alestorm guitarist Máté “Bobo” Bodor has completed work on his debut solo album “Oh Wow!’ to be released on 26th November 2021 via H-Music Hungary. Máté has been an integral part of Alestorm in the last 6 years, playing on the albums “No Grave But the Sea” (2017) and “Curse of the Crystal Coconut” (2020) and also formed the band All But One with Heaven Shall Burn drummer Christian Bass and singer Joe Carter-Hawkins. He has used the free time given by the lockdowns to write and record his first instrumental solo album, which he recorded with bass player Soma Schiszler (of the 2018 Eurovision participant band  AWS) and drummer Márk Maczák (Leander Rising, AMIGOD). The album is now available for pre-order, and the first song and music video is out now, check out “The Forgotten Ones” below!

Máté’s comments about his album:

“The idea of an instrumental solo album was born around 4-5 years ago, but the continuous touring with Alestorm and Leander Kills has made it unrealistic to make time for it, so it remained a vision only, for a long time. After we’ve completed work on the 2020 Alestorm album and I got home, the first Covid lockdowns started immediately. Because of that I was stuck at home, and for the first time after 5 years I’ve felt I have nothing to work on. In May 2020 I’ve deliberately started working on instrumental songs, initially one or two at a time, to see where this is going. I’ve completed the songs and recorded the demos all by myself, but eventually I found myself constantly coming up with new ideas and completing new ones. I thought I should do this only as long as this “natural flow” is there, and I will stop as soon as I feel it’s forced. By the end of the year I’ve completed the songwriting part of the project.

With the finished demos I’ve contacted Soma Schiszler (AWS), who I toured together with before, so I knew he was a professional producer and is very adapted when it comes to guitar music. Together we have started discussing this album more seriously. We’ve started working with Márk Maczák, who recorded all the drums by the end of spring, so the second half of summer was about recording all the other instruments. The main concept was not to involve many people so that I could supervise the whole process and I can learn from it to improve my skills for the next albums. Eventually Soma and I recorded all guitars and bass over a few weeks. The album was also mixed and mastered by Soma.

I really wanted to make an instrumental album that is not about “over-playing it for the sake of over-playing.” The main aspect was to deliver songs with good, well-built structures, and not some kind of improvised mass that someone just played something on top of. The order of songs was not changed, they can be heard in chronological order so there is an arc to the album that can describe my feelings of that one year period. If I had to characterize this album, I’d say I’ve managed to put together songs with a certain “feelgood / travelling” mood where there are only technical / complex parts where it’s really needed and has a place naturally.

The main concept behind the album’s cover art was to include as many of my favourite things in life as possible: guitars, sea animals, basketball and donuts. Basically these are the things that make me happy, so it was clear these are the elements to make my dream world from. Polish artist Aleksandra Klepacka made this imaginary idea into reality, who had an extremely good perception of what was in my head, and delivered the basic design for the album in merely a few days.”

Máté is a Hungarian guitar player, known as the member of the internationally touring pirate metal band ALESTORM, the melodic metalcore band ALL BUT ONE and formerly of Hungarian metal band LEANDER KILLS.

Máté started touring at a young age with various bands internationally supporting bigger bands in the UK scene. After joining the power metal band WISDOM they were part of multiple major tours across Europe with acts such as Sabaton, Powerwolf and Eluveitie.

Joining ALESTORM in 2015 brought on more performing around the globe on a much larger scale. The band has since played main stages at most of the biggest festivals in the world such as Wacken, Summer Breeze, Hellfest, Graspop, Heavy Montreal etc. All accompanied by tours in Russia, Australia, South America, Asia, the United States and Canada. Máté continues to tour and record with ALESTORM around the world, whilst also using the 2020 lockdown as a means to work on his first instrumental solo album set to be released on 26th November 2021.

Máté has been endorsed by Ibanez guitars since 2016 and mostly plays his LA Custom Shop “Bobo” model, loaded with EMGs. Since the relationship with Ibanez and EMG started, Máté has done two workshop tours around Europe to promote their products.
