A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH, the doom metal band led by founding Type O Negative and Life of Agony member Sal Abruscato, have released their single ‘Slave To The Master’. It’s the fourth single taken from their brand new album ‘Infernum In Terra’, released on September 24th, 2021 through Long Branch Records / SPV.

Stream ‘Slave To The Master’ and order the new album ‘Infernum In Terra’ here: https://smarturl.it/infernuminterra

Sal Abruscato about the new single:“This song is up there for one of my favorites, I ended up doing something very different by have the piano dominate this song and keeping it very open feeling with little guitar. About the inner turmoils I go through, the self destructive nihilistic behavior I can possess at times, my inner battles with self esteem, getting older and trying to fight my inner demons since childhood. For me it is a very beautiful song and I love it!.”

‘Infernum In Terra’ is the fourth studioalbum by A Pale Horse Named Death and was mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Meat Loaf, Yes, Sepultura, Halford etc.) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering (California,USA) while the artwork was done by Kelvin Doran of Serpent Tusk Studios (Dublin, Ireland).

“The album to me represents a new beginning, turning a new leaf shall we say with the same vibe from past albums but with a fresh open minded approach,” Abruscato explained earlier. “There is no real concrete specific concept, it touches on some personal topics in my life long, my interest in the dark arts, that to have light you must have darkness to balance everything. With daylight comes nightfall, with heaven there is hell and at this moment the world seems to be in a very dark place hence the title of the album ‘Infernum In Terra’. This is a very dark album, but what else is new I always write dark music to sooth a dark soul!”

‘Infernum In Terra’ was released on September 24, 2021 via Long Brand Records, purchase your album copy at THIS LOCATION!

Listen/Buy ‘Pleased’ HERE

From the stage, back to her place:THE NOW’s new indie rock single paints a picture of what happens on the night of a gig, with the thumping drums and piercing guitars intensifying the lyrics about how no father would be ‘pleased’ to see what goes on.‘Pleased’ is a beautifully crafted rock track that draws breath, sonically from the entire rock spectrum.

The Now consists of: Shane Callaghan on rhythm guitar & lead vocals, Will Scott on drums & vocals, Callum Bromage on guitar & vocals and Jay Evans on bass guitar. The average age of the band is 21 and their cutting edge look and feel falls in line with their sound – cool, current and highly charged!

The Now’s inspiration comes from an eclectic mix of music and musicians, including Chuck Berry and The Police, right through to Kasabian and Catfishand The Bottlemen.

The band’s vocal influences include Kelly Jones and Ryan ‘’Van’’ McCann.

The band has been jamming together since 2016 after meeting at a local jam night. After taking time to find the right sound, they decided to form ‘The Now’. Their stage presence is something special and full of energy, with their self-written songs delivering a huge punch to the head. The superb lyrics stay with you for days – all poetically written by enigmatic frontman Shane.

Not long after the release of ‘Friendly Fire’, they got contacted by BBC Wales presenter Adam Walton, who aired the single on the station.

MALACODA Release Lyric Video For ‘The Year Walk’

MALACODA have released their brand new lyric video “The Year Walk” which premiered via Metal Underound here.

Malacoda adds – “The Year Walk gives a good glimpse as to what the rest of this EP is about. It’s aggressive, ridiculously over the top, and really friggin’ dark. This is probably my favourite of all the songs we’ve released this year. Working with Michael Farina again behind the kit on this song was great- he always brings wacky ideas to the table that we have to try.”

The video can also be found at the bands YouTube channel here:

The EP will come out on December 3rd 2021.

Originally a recording project of multi-instrumentalist and music producer Lucas Di Mascio, Malacoda has persevered and grown throughout the years. Now a trio, the band is ready to unleash the conclusion to their trilogy of EP’s that was written and recorded before the pandemic.

The Year Walk is the third EP Malacoda will release in 2021. Four more songs which build upon the band’s symphonic sound first explored on 2016’s Ritualis Aeterna.

Long time collaborator Michael Farina returns to play drums on select tracks, as well as Ryan Claxton (Tulip, Living Dead Girl) and Andrew Suarez (ex-The Slyde). The haunting album cover was made by the extremely talented Stefan Skjoedt.

Featuring Gabriel Guardiola (Immortal Guardian) on the track Beaten Path as well as a stellar mixing and mastering job by Jeramie Kling (The Absence, Inhuman Condition, Venom Inc.), The Year Walk encompasses everything the band sought to achieve with this direction and closes a long, arduous chapter in Malacoda’s history.

Frontman Lucas Di Mascio had this to say about The Year Walk:

“The majority of the songs that have been released this year were written around 2017 – before the release of our last full length, Restless Dreams. I didn’t really know what to do with these songs because they were so different from Restless Dreams but still were aligned with the sound we had developed on the EP, Ritualis Aeterna. I shelved them for a bit and then decided to rework them when working with an artist who was endorsed by a big guitar brand.

The artist in question wanted to have some metal material to help promote themselves, so we built a new band for the material. I was actually supposed to be the rhythm guitarist for this project- we had a different singer involved. Unfortunately that project never got off the ground after almost a year of working on it and the songs were shelved yet again. In mid 2019 I revisited the songs and wrote a few more after Zak had joined. We were excited with the material and felt it should be a Malacoda release.

We finished drum tracking right as 2019 was ending. While our initial plans drastically changed because of the pandemic, I decided that we should still release this material but just break it into EP’s so we can keep busy in a time without touring.”

This new EP will be made available as digital only and the band has no intentions to tour in support of this release as they continue to observe COVID-19 restrictions in Canada.

DOWNFALL 2012, the high performing rock/metal band from Houston, Texas released their live version of the cover song, “I’m Still Standing” (original track by  Elton John).

Days after the release of “I’m Still Standing”, we performed the song for the first time at Warehouse Live, one of our favorite Houston venues.  That night, some friends of ours happened to collect the footage of this performance, and eventually compiled it into a music video.  We were thoroughly impressed with it, and loved how it captivated the raw energy of our stage show.  It is our pleasure to share it with you!

Giant thank you to Adrian and Demra of Check One Two Productions for doing such a great job!
