French underground black metal band HELL MILITIA will return with a new album after nearly 10 years of silence. The band’s previous release ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ was released in 2012. The new record will be released via Season of Mist Underground Activists in the first half of 2022.

The band comments: “Hell Militia is back! The new album is a bitter reflection of the years that have passed since the release of Jacob’s Ladder. Always the same, but spiralling out of control into more extreme situations. The new album is the result of bitter days,an even more bitter aftertaste, fanatic unshakable religious faith and urban filth resulting in a toxic cocktail.

Fuck your world and everything in it.

Gospel of the Pig 2021.”

Check out ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ HERE.

HELL MILITIA are back with a vengeance!

Since its founding in the year 1999, the band has been a rising dark star in the underground Black Metal scene. Now their fourth full-length is about to burst unto the world like a black supernova. The French masterfully achieve a unification of old school values such as a harsh and fierce yet accessible songwriting with the new dissonant and ruptured sound which is especially explored in their homeland.

After recruiting like minded spirits HELL MILITIA unveiled themselves first with the split “SPK Kommando” (2001) and a demo named “The Second Coming – Reh” (2003), which won them a record deal. The debut album “Canonisation of the Foul Spirit” (2005) gained the French international attention and critical acclaim. As members of HELL MILITIA were also active in bands such as ARKHON INFAUSTUS, SECRETS OF THE MOON or TEMPLE OF BAAL, their next output appeared after a hiatus of five years.

“Last Station on the Road to Death” (2010) proved to be a success as well as their tours with the likes of ARCHGOAT, BEHEXEN, BLACKLODGE and AOSOTH. This fueled the band’s vision both musically and visually as indicated by the inclusion of a VJ as a permanent member in their line-up. The release of “Jacob’s Ladder” strengthened HELL MILITIA’s position as one of the leading bands in the French Black Metal scene and was followed by several tours in Europe and the US, as well as multiple festival appearances.

After a few years in turmoil and adding some fresh blood into the band, HELL MILITIA is now back with the harsh new album. Taking a much more aggressive stand on this album, the band is now ready to unleash this bitter monument upon the world. The universe of HELL MILITIA smells of urban filth, unshakable religious faith and an extremely bitter after taste.

On November 19th, Copenhagen based alternative hardcore combo NYT LIV will release their second album ‘Den døde sol’ (‘The dead sun’ in Danish). Two singles have been released within the last month and today, a third single ‘Grå dage’ (Danish for ‘Grey Days’) is released alongside a video by guitarist Martin Goltermann, who also created the video for the second single and in addition is responsible for all photography on the new record.

Lead singer Michael Aagesen states about the song:

“The theme is hopelessness. About being depressed and losing faith in the possibility of better days ahead.”

NYT LIV has just announced three Danish release shows in Copenhagen and Aarhus, of which two are with label mates Anti Ritual. Tickets are now available for the following dates:

26.11.21 – Copenhagen, Underwerket (DK) w. Anti Ritual – event/tickets

03.12.21 – Aarhus, Headquarters (DK) w. Anti Ritual – event/tickets

10.12.21 – Odense, På Taget (DK) w. Extended Suicide – event/tickets

On their second album ‘Den døde sol, NYT LIV show themselves from a more forceful and vigorous side expanding the framework of the indignated, alternative hardcore. Shaped as straight forward Danish poetry without use of sophisticated words and metaphors, the lyrics are about life and social indignation.

‘Den døde sol’ is recorded with Jacob Bredahl (LLNN, Lifesick) producing and Brad Boatright (Nails, Ceremony, Modern Life Is War) mastering. Lasse Høgh (Nyredolk) has created the artwork based on the guitarist’s Martin Goltermann’s photographs of Copenhagen and Zealand at dusk. The album’s visual side reflects the album’s lyrics both in subject matter as well as very concrete manner, when the images are combined with singer Michael Aagesen’s handwritten lyrics in the booklet for the album’s vinyl edition.

‘Den døde sol’ will be released November 19th 2021 on vinyl, tape and digital formats via Indisciplinarian. In 2021, the Greek/Swedish melodic death metal stars NIGHTRAGE return with the final part in their trilogy of albums (‘The Venomous‘, ‘Wolf to Man‘) and now complete with their upcoming album ‘Abyss Rising‘. An album that is the band’s vision of mankind living in its own hell – a hell it has created through the destruction of the planet. Inspired in part by Dante’s ‘inferno’, the album explores man’s continual destruction of the world we live in until the abyss opens up to consume all before it. The abyss has risen from the depths, and hell has now turned outside in to be able to rise to earth to claim us. The album captures Nightrage in a spectacular form; incisive, brutal, uncompromising, and unforgettable. Musically the band have embraced a harder, faster, and brutal approach, still rich in melodic intent but characteristically heavy and aggressive. Mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordstrom at Studio Fredman (Architects, In Flames, Opeth, etc.) ‘Abyss Rising‘ is a formidable sonic masterpiece. The album will be released 18th of February, 2022.

‘Abyss Rising’ was the first single and title track of the album. This song is all about how we as humans already are living in our own hell and expresses Nightrage’s visionwhere mankind has finally reached their own hell on Earth. Nightrage will now release the music video for ‘Abyss Rising’ and it will be released November 5th via Despotz Records.

Stream via optional major platforms: https://despotz.ffm.to/abyssrising

Marios about the single;
“Abyss Rising is one of the last songs that we have written for the new album me and Magnus, and we wanted to create a fast song with really strong melodies and catchy riffs. I feel we have really great chemistry when we sit down and write new songs together, plus with the addition of Ronnie he did some really great vocals that lifted the song a lot, especially on the chorus he added a lot of layers of clean vox harmonies that gives the song another dimension! We are blown away from the amazing art that Jon Tousas did from Graphic No Jutsu, you see 7 arrows that symbolizes the 7 deadly sins that is killing the 3 birds of innocence, so that shows us clearly the downfall of the humankind and the rising of the unfortunate Abyss. Beware Of The Abyss!” // Marios Iliopoulos

More about Nightrage
Nightrage was founded by Marios Iliopoulos and his close friend Gus G in June 2000. After put together demos in 2001 and 2002, they finally released their first full album, ‘Sweet Vengeance’, in 2003. It featured drummer Per Möller Jensen (The Haunted), and bassist Brice Leclercq. They also managed to acquire the services of legendary vocalist Tomas Lindberg (At the Gates) and Tom S. Englund of Evergrey fame. Their second release, ‘Descent into Chaos’, followed in 2005 and featured a more permanent rhythm section in the shape of Fotis Benardo (Septic Flesh, ex-Innerwish) and Henric Carlsson. With Gus G’s role performing with Arch Enemy taking more and more of the talented guitarists time, Nightrage looked to a number of tour replacements to cover for him until Gus made the decision to permanently left Nightrage and focus completely on Firewind (before landing the coveted guitar spot in Ozzy Osbourne’s band).

Nightrage’s third album, ‘A New Disease Is Born’, was released in 2007. Gus G. was replaced by Dragonland/Amaranthe guitarist Olof Mörck. In keeping with the band’s revolving door of members, 2007 also saw Antony Hämäläinen, bassist Anders Hammer, and drummer Johan Nunez (Firewind, Kamelot) join the band in the summer of 2007. Their fourth album, ‘Wearing a Martyr’s Crown’, was recorded, produced, and mixed by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman. Several tracks from the album, namely, ‘A Grim Struggle’, ‘Collision of Fate’, ‘Shed the Blood’, and ‘Wearing a Martyr’s Crown’ were made available as downloadable content for the Rock Band video game series on Xbox. On 30 June 2011 ‘A Grim Struggle’ was made available for download on the PlayStation 3 console. 2011’s ‘Insidious’ once again featured Tomas Lindberg and Tom Englund on vocals, along with guest appearances from Gus G, Apollo Papathanasio (Firewind, Spiritual Beggars) and John K. Starting on 9 October 2011, the band supported the new album on a tour of North America, joining Firewind and Arsis, titled ‘Frets Of Fury’.

In 2013, Antony Hämäläinen and Johan Nunez officially left the band to pursue other musical ventures. Ronnie Nyman was recruited to replace Hämäläinen on vocals. With Nyman, the band released their sixth studio album, ‘The Puritan’, in 2015. 2017 saw the release of album number seven, ‘The Venomous’. With yet more changes in the band (Magnus Söderman (guitars) and Lawrence Dinamarca (drums) completing the line-up) the album won wide spread critical acclaim. 2019’s ‘Wolf to Man’ featured another shift in personnel with a new rhythm section arriving (Francisco Escalona, Bass and drummer Dino George Stamoglou) but the core of the band stayed the same. The resulting album was widely acclaimed as one of the band’s best.

In 2022, Nightrage is back with their ninth album ‘Abyss Rising‘ – it’s incisive, it’s brutal, it’s uncompromising and unforgettable.

MUD SPENCER Sign To Argonauta Records, First Track Revealed from Debut Album

Italian underground powerhouse label Argonauta Records is known and loved for their extraordinary signings and eclectic artist roster in within the stoner, doom, sludge and heavy music scene, and today they welcomed another very special, and definitely unique act to the Argonauta family: Hailing from the Indonesia Java Island, psych doom and stoner boogie rock act MUD SPENCER has inked a worldwide deal with the record label!

MUD SPENCER ‘s prologue begins in 2017, when band visionary Rodolphe and drummer Eddie recorded a full-length album, “Left Empty”, in within 4 days under the band name of “Chiefing Cloves”. Eddie returned home to Texas, US, right after the recording sessions. As many drafts of song ideas were still there, Rodolphe decided to do it with the means at hand then, and created two virtual bands. One for high tempo early 60s sound inspiration, and one other, MUD SPENCER, for low tempo late 60s early 70s sound influences. The one-man-show is Rodolphe, playing all guitars, drums, organ, FX and other instruments. In 2019, he began the production of his upcoming debut, which will be released during 2022 with Argonauta. According to MUD SPENCER, it’s “made on ze bed music”. He records on his bed, and he mixes outside in the island‘s mountain while he just brings the ipad and headset on his trail motorcycle.

Give ear, as to celebrate their signing and upcoming collaboration, today MUD SPENCER and Argonauta Records have shared a first track taken from the upcoming debut. Listen to ‘Razana ‘ here:

Says label owner, Gero Lucisano:

“It’s not of every day we’re used to ink a deal with a very new band as MUD SPENCER is, though we’ve been immediatly surprised by his genuine attitude and approach as well as his killer yet comfortable sound, indeed useful for each kind of situation when played at the right volume. It’s surf/garage ’60, rock ’70 and fuzz, yes! A true psychedelic journey at all level.”

MUD SPENCER adds:

” I’m very excited and also curious to work with Argonauta Records and All Noir for the release of  Mud Spencer first album!. Thanks for your helps in all its promotional and marketing efforts, thus, I should have more time to devote to tracks production, and with motivation..! “

Watch out for more news and album details of MUD SPENCER’s upcoming, special journey to follow in the months ahead!

Prog Rockers KOSMODOME Reveal New Single ‘”Waver II’ From Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 7, 2021

With their debut full-length album set for release on Karisma Records at the end of the year, Prog Rockers KOSMODOME have today revealed “Waver II”, a second single from the self-titled album.

Whilst it would appear that thanks to its title this particular track is only a half of a whole, the band are quick to point out that this is not the case:

“Waver II” is the second of two connected tracks on the album but it stands on its own as a self-examining journey in search of answers. It explores the paralyzing effect different sorts of fear has on our psyche; describing feelings of panic, anxiousness, and the fear of failure, whilst also pondering on what it takes to stay calm and collected.

“Waver II” can be streamed or downloaded from various services at this location.

As a debut album, “Kosmodome” illustrates perfectly how clever song writing can create a sound that has the explosive drive of bands like MASTODON, whilst still being able to sound melodic.  And Sturle and Severin Sandvik, the two brothers who founded KOSMODOME, are masters at being able to bridge that often tricky gap.  And for those who are wondering what actually lies behind the album itself, they explain:

We aim to draw listeners into the “Kosmodome”, in all its diversity. Throughout the album, we dwell in the melodic and the groovy; a baseline for deep dives into massive, heavy soundscapes and spacey atmospheres. Instrumental sections are central to our musical storytelling, further supported by our lyrical themes; introspection and wonder, ruminations on the human condition, and frustrations toward contemporary society.

Although starting out as a two-piece, with Sturle on guitars and vocals, and Severin on drums, it was obvious that additions to the lineup would have to be made if KOSMODOME was to bring its riff-based Rock sound with its distinctive Stoner elements and progressive nuances to a live audience. To that end, the brothers have now been joined  Magnus Magnussen on bass and Erlend Nord on guitar.

And it is this live lineup that fans will be able to see when KOSMODOME launch the album at Det Akademiske Kvarter in Bergen, Norway,  on the 12th November.

With artwork by Mirkow Gastow, track listing for “Kosmodome” is as follows:

  1. Enter the Dome
  2. Retrograde
  3. Hypersonic
  4. Deadbeat
  5. Waver I
  6. Waver II
  7. The 1 %
  8. Orbit

“Kosmodome”, will be available on the 10th December in, CD Digital and Limited Edition Green and Black marbled vinyl and is now available to pre order from:
