Puerto Rican Ambassadors Of Metal LEFT-ÖVR Release Album “Millennium In Darkness” + Video Single ‘Gator Season’

Bang, it’s Gator Season at dawn of the Millennium In Darkness, folks! After many years of fighting the fight as cultural outcasts in one of the world’s most non-metal countries, and after over two years of recording and production hell in the most literal sense – riddled with bug bites such as hurricane Maria, six months of power outage, political turmoil, earthquakes and the ugliest bitch of ‘em all, Corona – it’s finally done. LEFT-ÖVR are pumping out their spankin’ new album Millennium In Darkness! There’s no way around all them bugs ‘n’ mosquitos boys and gals: Gotta treat yourself to a mighty fine SWAMP PARTY, hell yeah! Wanna see what that looks like? Grab your dirt cheap wine, piss-warm beer, badass ‘shine, precious whiskey or ticklin’ green and check out Gator Season:

Done? So what do you think about that sick, swampy-dumpy, banjo pickin’, heavy groovin’, throaty chuggin’ working class mud canticle? Repeat, sing-along? Awesome, YOU’re just the kind of person that this gang of misfits needs: “Coming from a place where being a ‘Metalhead’ is often looked at as weird, or ‘not normal’ by the country’s narrow standards, we’ve always dreamed of being Puerto Rico’s Metal Ambassadors! The idea of doing the impossible in representing our country at festivals and in clubs around the world and, most of all, the itch to meet people like us – fans and metalheads from all over the world – that’s worth more than anything for us; no money can buy that, that’s our dream, let’s make that happen!”

Millennium In Darkness, including Not For The Masses and Gator Season, is out world-wide via SAOL/The Orchard on November 5th, 2021. Get that sick party started here: https://orcd.co/millennium-in-darkness

LEFT-ÖVR in a nutshell:

But do they even have swamps?, might seem the obvious question if you’re looking at Puerto Rico from a southern metal, probably stoner point of view. The answer is a simple yes – and boy do those mosquito-ridden wetlands gain attraction for societal outcasts who committed their lives to strictly western heavy metal. Enter LEFT-ÖVR, a booze-oozing, green smelling, straight speaking gang of things from the swamp with their brand new album Millennium In Darkness.

Emerged from two sizzling hot underground bands – one thrash/groove metal and one southern rock – that both dated back to good ol’ tape trading times of the pre-internet era, the name is an amalgamation of friendship and respect as both former bands have lost beloved founding members to tragic death. LEFT-ÖVR, the literal remnants of the outcasts, who shared stages for decades and finally regrouped in honour of the lost ones back in 2018, started off as power-driven, wild jams to recover from the past by simply sweating it out and crafting their own brew of wild, gritty and tremendously catchy southern metal. No Latin-American rhythm and ease allowed – go look elsewhere if that’s what you’re searching for! Friends of beloved southerners, such as Texas Hippie Coalition or Down, who need their daily fix of brutal, heavy and unmasked tunes meant to scare off gators: By all means, stay! Here’s why LEFT-ÖVR are catering to you: “In an age driven by mass media, trends and influencers, we choose to play for the real crowd, the ones who make their own rules, who despise trends and strictly follow their own hearts. We are not for the masses but for folks who are real!”

JETHRO TULL to Release New Studio Album “The Zealot Gene” in 2022; First Single ‘Shoshana Sleeping’ Out Now

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 6, 2021

British Progressive Rock Luminaries JETHRO TULL have announced details for the group’s first studio album of new material in over 18 years! Originally making headlines in March of this year, the band’s newest offering, titled ‘The Zealot Gene’, will see a January 28th, 2022 release on Inside Out Music. To give Tull fans their first taste of the new record, the group has released the first single from the album, titled “Shoshana Sleeping”, accompanied by a stunning visual created by Thomas Hicks.

A record that began to take shape as early as 2017, ‘The Zealot Gene’, in many ways, seeks to defy convention during a time when the business of being a touring and recording artist has never faced more uncertainties. Tull bandleader Ian Anderson holds no reservations about the role for which the mythos and themes of Biblical storytelling played in the lyrical content of the new album, saying:

“While I have a spot of genuine fondness for the pomp and fairytale story-telling of the Holy Book, I still feel the need to question and draw sometimes unholy parallels from the text. The good, the bad, and the downright ugly rear their heads throughout, but are punctuated with elements of love, respect, and tenderness.”

Looking back on the earth-shaking disruption of the Coronavirus pandemic, which ultimately ended the band’s touring plans and hopes of a 2020 release for ‘The Zealot Gene’, Anderson shares, “It was so sudden. Amidst the concerns and warnings of the scientific community and a few more enlightened politicians, we all retreated in disbelief to our homes to wait out the storm.”

The Zealot Gene will be offered in the following formats:

  • Special Edition Digipak CD
  • Gatefold 2LP+CD+LP-booklet
  • Limited 2CD+Blu-ray Artbook
  • Limited Deluxe 3LP+2CD+Blu-ray Artbook

Both artbook editions feature a second CD of demos and initial ideas, plus extended liner notes and an interview with Ian Anderson undertaken by Tim Bowness (no-man)
The Deluxe 3LP+2CD+Blu-ray Artbook comes on white vinyl and includes a 3rd LP with the rough demos. It also includes a slipmat and a numbered art print.

Pre-order now here: https://jethrotullband.lnk.to/TheZealotGene

‘The Zealot Gene’ Tracklisting:
1. Mrs. Tibbets (5:54)
2. Jacob’s Tales (2:13)
3. Mine Is The Mountain (5:40)
4. The Zealot Gene (3:54)
5. Shoshana Sleeping (3:41)

With more than 30 albums to their credit and sales totaling more than 50 million, Jethro Tull are one of the most successful rock bands of all-time with a catalog that contains classics that still resonate today. Led by Ian Anderson, Tull still continue to tour throughout the world, entertaining audiences of all ages.

The band currently consists of:
Ian Anderson – Flute, acoustic guitar, harmonica, vocals
Joe Parrish-James – Guitar
Florian Opahle – Guitar (album only)
