“Paralyzed with Fear” is an epic hard-rock ballad written by 14 year-old prodigious drummer and songwriter THOMAS THUNDER. The song is an homage to the power rock ballads of the ’80’s. It was inspired by the 1922 horror film Nosferatu, and the relationship between the main female character, her fiancé and the medaling vampire. Guest musicians include Ron Bumblefoot Thal (Sons of Apollo; Guns N’ Roses), Derek Sherinian (Sons of Apollo; Dream Theater), Tony Franklin (The Firm; Jimmy Page) and Echo Deva Picone on vocals.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Thomas on his debut album. I was extremely impressed with his creativity, and use of advanced harmony for a kid his age. I think the future is bright for young Thomas Thunder!”
-Derek Sherinian

“Ive had the pleasure of playing on the soon to be released album of Thomas Thunder. Thomas is a young up and coming musician and he’s a phenomenal drummer. He’s a very intricate songwriter that writes this amazing, crazy stuff that has been so tough to play. I’m on his album along with my Sons of Apollo bandmate Derek Sherinian, and bass player Tony Franklin. So, please check out this album. I hope you enjoy it!”
-Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal

“I was thrilled to play on Thomas’s album, with such an esteemed group of musicians. Thomas is definitely advanced for his years as both a writer and a player. I look forward to seeing how he will evolve as he creates more and more.”
-Tony Franklin

The single is from the album, The Pharaoh’s Temple, that released in September 2021.

“I see my life in terms of music”

A powerful quote by the renowned genius Albert Einstein. This holds true for 14 year old Drummer and Progressive Rock songwriter Thomas Thunder. Barely in his teens, this young musician from Southern New England is here to prove that children can not only perform as a musician, but be a successful songwriter as well. With his intricate Progressive Rock songs that include odd time signatures and unique instrumentation he has captured the attention of fans as well as professional musicians.

Thomas began his journey as a musician when he started drum lessons at age five. He started playing in a performance band by age eight at School of Rock, and it was there that Thomas was inspired to start songwriting himself. At age 10 years old, Thomas released his first single, and he was awarded a prize in the Eventide Theater Songwriting competition. Thomas has also been featured on the British Prog Rock blog, participated in radio and Podcast interviews, and landed the cover of American Pride Magazine. He also has achieved three Number One hits on the independent music chart The Fabchart.

His love of Progressive Rock bands like Sons of Apollo, Dream Theater and Tool permeate his songwriting. In fact, Thomas grabbed the attention of the ‘King of Keyboards’ Derek Sherinian (Sons of Apollo member; ex Dream Theater; Alice Cooper, etc) with his songs. Thomas has written several songs that feature one of his musical idols Derek Sherinian on keyboards. Not only has Derek contributed to Thomas’ songs but has produced them as well.

This superstar collaboration has solidified for Thomas to continue on the path as a musician and songwriter. Becoming a professional musician, performing live, and Prog Rock songwriting are his musical goals. Since age 12, his original music is published on all streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple and Amazon. Thomas also is a member of the high IQ society Mensa.

The future looks bright for Thomas Thunder!

SO HIDEOUS Announce New Album Ft. Members of Downfall Of Gaia & The Number Twelve Looks Like You

Silent Pendulum Records has announced the December 3rd release of None But a Pure Heart Can Sing, the new album by SO HIDEOUS. It’s the New York City band’s first new album since 2015’s acclaimed Laurestine, released on Prosthetic Records.

In the six years since the critically acclaimed Laurestine, So Hideous founder Brandon Cruz and his longtime collaborators Christopher Cruz and Etienne Vazquez went their separate ways and devoted themselves to families and careers. So Hideous receded into the mist but Brandon Cruz never stopped writing. In 2020, with a new album’s worth of music taking shape, the Cruz brothers and Vazquez brought bassist DJ Scully and drummer Michael Kadnar ( also in Downfall Of Gaia ) – the explosive rhythm section of The Number Twelve Looks Like You – into the ranks.

None But a Pure Heart Can Sing is a new and astonishing piece of work from this adventurous band. Still raging as hard as ever, still expressing the extremes of torment and beauty, the album sees So Hideous incorporate new sounds and rhythms into its approach.

But give ear, as the band just shared a video for the killer track “The Emerald Pearl”, which injects the band’s usual orchestral post-black metal sound with some clear jazz and Afrobeat influence. Watch SO HIDEOUS‘ brand new video right here:

Brandon Cruz describes in detail the new direction the band has taken: “I think we still have the foundation of what we laid before, being influenced largely by Japanese post-metal bands Mono and Envy, and composers such as Arvo Part and Max Richter. We wanted more rhythm this time and we expanded outward to include influences from Fela Kuti and Tony Allen‘s Afrobeat percussion, James Brown‘s horn section, and the balladry of Otis Redding and Sam Cooke. It was also nice to finally experiment a bit with more Penderecki-style tone clusters and glissando on the more dissonant sections.”

Absolutely thrilling on a musical level, absolutely cathartic on an emotional level, None But a Pure Heart Can Sing is an example of the triumph of art created with open minds and open hearts.
Discussing the concepts behind None But a Pure Heart Can Sing, Brandon Cruz states: “The record is about rediscovering the freedom to share your passion, whether it be your art or your own voice, without any angst, anger or second thoughts. We talked a lot about the times we used to get into a room to play when we were 16 or whatever and the only barometer was if it ‘felt right and sounded good.’ When you see little kids they just extemporaneously break out into song and dance. They don’t care who’s watching. I had this idea of someone in some form of captivity, yearning to be free and sing her song.”

None But a Pure Heart Can Sing was engineered, mixed and mastered by The Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Kevin Antreassian at Backroom Studios. The vocals were recorded at Atomic Garden West by Jesse Nichols. The album will be released on December 3, 2021 via New York’s label Silent Pendulum Records, to pre-order your copy in Europe visit the Evil Greed shop at this location!

BREED OF AGGRESSION was born out of Scott McClellan and Susie Hoffman Beahm’s shared goal to create extreme metal that is organic, free, and without defining limits to their sound. Their first album, ‘This Is My War’, exemplifies that approach, delivering eight intense tracks produced by Destrophy frontman and guitarist, Ari Mihalopoulos, that boldly announce the arrival of this dynamic duo. ‘This Is My War’ will be released worldwide on Dark Star Records on November 5th, pre-orders are underway now. The first single and video is “Unmasked”.

Tony Martin, former Black Sabbath lead singer on BREED OF AGGRESSION, “Susie sings really well and the talent is surely there, the tracks that stand out for me are “Unmasked” and “I Am The Enemy”.

Susie Hoffman Beham discusses making the album, “This album has been two years in the making and I couldn’t ask for a better partner in its creation. The landscape Scott painted allowed me to open my mind and create something that came organically and without boundaries.”

Scott McClellan talking about meeting Susie, “I had been writing a metal album & was in search of a singer for it for a while, Through mutual friends I was introduced to Susie, I asked her to audition, the 1st song I was completely blown away by her power! I was not looking for a female vocalist for this album, when I had heard her voice, my opinion was changed right away, her skill stands out like no other in both male and female metal singers, that being said BREED OF AGGRESSION was born.”

Hailing from the Midwest, BREED OF AGGRESSION is a new heavy metal project founded by Scott McClellan and Susie Hoffman Beahm.

An accomplished guitarist and songwriter, Scott McClellan’s solo album Brutal Intentions was released on Dark Star Records in 2019. He is the featured guitarist on ex-Black Sabbath frontman Tony Martin’s forthcoming solo album Thorns, set for 2022 release on Dark Star Records. In addition to Pantera tribute bands Domination and Cemeterygatez: America’s Number One Pantera Tribute Band, Scott has played in The Brain Chiggers and Brotherhood of Spine. McClellan is also an in-demand session guitarist and songwriter.

Susie Hoffman Beahm has been a staple in the music industry for over twenty years, teaming with top manufacturers on instruments that support children’s discovery in the classroom and beyond. An advocate of school music programs and women’s growth in the music industry, Susie frequently volunteers her time toward related causes. She has done session work on a variety of musical projects and is a member of the indie band Natural Oil and Heathen Soul.
