STAHLMANN Release New Single ‘Wollust’

Advertised for months, eagerly awaited by fans and already on everyone`s lips with the pre-release singles/videos ‘Sünder’, ‘Gottmaschine’ and ‘Krähen der Nacht’: On Desember, 10th 2021 the Göttingen NDH/German rock formation  STAHLMANN will release their latest studio album “Quarz“. As announced, it is the band`s most varied and sophisticated work to date. With his bandmates Mario Sobotka (guitar) and Dimitrios ‘Tacki’ Gatsios (drums), frontman Martin ‘Mart’ Soer (vocals, programming) has recorded ten powerful and multi-layered songs that skillfully bring the typical Stahlmann style into focus. Mart: “We’ve deliberately returned to our roots this time to revive the old-school NDH directives of our first three albums. Naturally, these influences have been combined with current, contemporary ideas. The result is a balanced, well-rounded album, catchy but still with all the raw edges Stahlmann is known for.”

Martin Soer is referring to songs like ‘Gegen den Strom’, ‘Tobsucht’ or their current club focus single ‘Wollust’, but also to their dance-style song ‘Herz und Tränen’, their pre-release track ‘Gottmaschine’ mentioned above, or their brashly powerful ‘Willst Du’. And then, there is their groovy ‘Sonnenreich’ with a skillful mixture of NDH influences and German rock, as well as their ballad ‘Der Sturm’, that comes with its own symphonic string accompaniment and a decidedly sensual love story.

By the way: “Quarz”, too, is bursting with eloquent lyrics, the underlying meaning of which Martin Soer has deliberately laced with double entendres. He says: “As diverse as our topics are – from the ever-popular sex and eroticism in ‘Der Sturm’ or ‘Willst Du’, to the critical evaluation of the glorification of alleged deities in ‘Sonnenreich’, to our appeal in ‘Krähen der Nacht’ to boldly keep taking on new challenges, without forgetting your own roots – it’s basically an ironic wink, along with our wish to our fans to not rack their brains too much over seemingly heavy subjects.”

Participate in GUS G.’s Virtuoso World of Guitar Sounds

One of the best guitarists of our time makes a quantum leap and lets his fans participate in his virtuoso world of guitar sounds. The result: GUS G.‘s latest album “Quantum Leap”.

The instrumental album relies on symmetry and brevity. Gus G. manages in an impressive way to center his guitar and replaces with her the role of the singer.

In addition, “Quantum Leap” does not simply tie in with older projects by the artist. Rather, it’s a mix of older heavy metal tricks, that are reminiscent of FIREWIND, enriched with more power, new creative ideas and very own melodies. See for yourselfe :

I didn’t make Quantum Leap with the intention of it being the next one in the cycle of solo albums,” Gus admits. “It was more of a case of, ‘What else is there?’ I needed the creative outlet.”

Already the first track “Into The Unknown” presents itself in a new way, compared to older solo works of Gus G. In many parts the song is reminiscent of fast progressive rock, which invites you to groove along with its many nuances. The same applies to the single “Exosphere” and the focus track “Quantum Leap”.
The relaxed ballad “Enigma Of Life”, on the other hand, is completely detached of the prog-wave and leads the listener further into a varied and stylistically memorable work.

Wilder tracks like “Fierce” or “Judgment Day” flank the typical Metal that Gus G. fans love so much. And they are not the only fans of the Greek talent: “This album […] is overflowing with red hot smoking guitar work and unrelenting metal spirit,” enthuses Marty Friedman, himself a gifted guitarist.

“Quantum Leap” is crowned by “Force Majeure”, which, with the support of guitar star Vinnie Moor, fully expresses the elaborate handwork of Gus G.
If you can’t get enough after the 11 short but crisp tracks, you can look forward to the bonus CD: It is a collection of live performances from the last tour and again provides the complicated guitar gymnastics that Gus G. is capable of.

Steve Morese (Deep Purble) also admits the talent without envy:
“Gus can play the very difficult, intense passages with no problem … but what makes the album easy to listen to is that melodic themes are in every song, which allows the technical parts to be more striking.”

The mixture of progressive rock elements, synth waves, new melodies and hard metal parts, makes “Quantum Leap” a real quantum leap in the scene.
The exceptional guitarist proves: “As an artist nowadays, you can basically do whatever you like and there’s an audience out there for it. Instrumental music might not be a big seller, but everybody and can listen to anything, and there are no limits to what I can do.”

Gus G. made a name for himself with Firewind, the band he initially launched as a solo project in 1998 that made its official debut in 2002. In that time the band has released nine albums, while Gus has also recorded and toured with Mystic Prophecy, Nightrage, Arch Enemy, Dream Evil and Ozzy Osbourne. He has also made inroads as a solo artist, having released three albums under his own name: I Am The Fire (2014), Brand New Revolution (2015), and Fearless (2018). He closes 2021 with a new instrumental solo effort, Quantum Leap, featuring 10 tracks that both showcase the playing style Gus is known for and takes fans into new territory.

With strong tailwind from last year’s chart leading album “Whoosh!”, DEEP PURPLE surprises with new album “TURNING TO CRIME” and new single “7 And 7 Is”.

The new album, released by earMUSIC, will reach the worldwide community of Deep Purple loyal fans only 15 months after Deep Purple‘s latest studio album “Whoosh!”, an album saluted by prestigious chart achievements (3rd consecutive #1 in Germany, as well as well as #4 in the UK) and acclaimed by critics who praised the creative strength of a band that continues evolving with every release.

“Turning to Crime” is the first studio album by Deep Purple entirely made of songs not written by the band and previously recorded by other artists. The “time trilogy”, consisting of “NOW What?!”, “inFinite” and “Whoosh!” (2013, 2017 and 2020) has sold over 1 million albums, topped the charts 11 times and achieved more than 40 Top 10 positions worldwide.

Producer and friend Bob Ezrin, who worked with Deep Purple on the previous albums forming the “trilogy”, was once again an important part of the new studio work. The first single “7 And 7 Is” is available everywhere now.

Swedish hard/heavy heroes ASTRAL DOORS are back with a brand new song. “Welcome To The Astral Kingdom” will be released as a digital single on 22.10.

The official lyric video can already be watched below.

“Welcome To The Astral Kingdom” is a special thank you to all the band’s loyal fans worldwide who have supported and accompanied the ASTRAL DOORS for years (including with their own Facebook group). With their new song, the band also returns to their musical roots. Towards honest, straightforward heavy rock, which has always been the core competence of the musicians from Borlänge, Sweden.

Since their debut in 2003, the ASTRAL DOORS have been cultivating their very own form of “retro”, based on the great deeds of legends like Rainbow, Dio or Black Sabbath, combined with elements of modern heavy metal. A concept that has brought the band great international success to this day.

NIGHTLAND Release ‘For Once My Name’ Single

NIGHTLAND have released ‘For Once My Name’ – the first single taken from the upcoming new album ‘The Great Nothing’ (set to be released on November 19 via Scarlet Records).

“‘For Once my Name’ is a groovy, melodic song that speaks to the heart of those people who roam disconsolately in a world they don’t belong. The lyrics talk about the ascent of the nymph Callisto, destined to be eternally alone, away from all that she loved and lived for. If this resonates with you, then you should know that even in the worst fate there’s someone who will keep you safe and help you carry this burden.

When I wrote this song I thought of turning all the weakness and insecurity into strength, wrath and self-awareness, and that’s exactly what the drastic, blasting end of the song reveals” – Ludovico Cioffi – Nightland
