OBSCURA Unleash Music Video for New Single ‘When Stars Collide’ Feat. Björn ‘Speed’ Strid

Fast cars and even faster guitars is what you get on OBSCURA‘s new music video off their upcoming studio album “A Valediction”! Only one more month to go before the band’s 6th studio album will see the light of day on November 19th, and virtuosic frontman Steffen Kummerer and his renowned bandmates unveil yet another new song from their upcoming chef-d’euvre. As one of the more melodic tracks on the album, “When Stars Collide” even features a striking clean vocal guest performance by their label mate Björn “Speed” Strid besides the band’s unpreceded polyrhythms and solos.

The music video was once again produced by director Mirko Witzki and does not only offer the possibility to witness the outstanding talent of the musicians during the performance, but also some visual pleasure for car nerds.
Steffen Kummerer comments: “One of the highlights and contested compositions of “A Valediction” features Björn Strid of our label mates Soilwork. ‘When Stars Collide’ recombines an uplifting pace with a rather dark and bitter narrative that leads into to a story for reflection. A sense of delight and feeling of relief covers all mournful misery.”

The song is featured on “A Valediction” that will be available on CD, vinyl and digitally on November 19th via Nuclear Blast. Preorder or presave it here: https://bfan.link/Obscura

VENOM PRISON Announce “Erebos”, Out February 4th

For the iconic cover of their upcoming album, “Erebos”, UK’s VENOM PRISON have teamed up with renowned artist Eliran Kantor again. “Erebos” will be out worldwide on February 4th, 2022.

The band comments: “Being able to work with our dear friend Eliran on another piece of art for VENOM PRISON has been exciting as always. Kantor knows the band perfectly well to capture our music and poetry into a visual masterpiece every single time. ‘Erebos’ was a personal one for both Eliran Kantor and ourselves. This artwork captures the moment a young person dies inside as they are surrounded by horror. In the moment their innocence is lost and desensitisation will from now on fuel the repetition of the cycle of violence in their life. This is ‘Erebos’ the one born from chaos.”

A new song will be released soon.

VENOM PRISON has carved an uncompromising space for themselves over the course of two full-length albums, “Animus” (2016) and “Samsara” (2019) with 2020’s “Primeval” reinvigorating the band’s earlier EPs with two newly written tracks added. What began as an explosive collaboration between Russian-born vocalist Larissa Stupar and guitarist Ash Gray (with the lineup rounded out by guitarist Ben Thomas, bassist Mike Jefferies and drummer Joe Bills) has exploded into a force to be reckoned with as vitriolic and outspoken lyrically as they are musically.

HATE Unleash ‘Exiles of Pantheon’ Video

Long-running blackened death metal unit HATE today unleashes their new video for “Exiles of Pantheon.” The ferocious track comes by way of the band’s Rugia full-length, recently released via Metal Blade Records.

The “Exiles of Pantheon” video was created in collaboration with @9literfilmy film agency. Comments vocalist/guitarist ATF Sinner, “We’re extremely proud to present this picture for one of the most brutal and vicious tracks on Rugia. The song is about an old faith being reborn through an unholy, blood-soaked ritual. There are references to archaic beliefs on the island of Rugia – the last bastion of western Slavic paganism. Making this video was one hell of a challenge, because we were shooting throughout the night in extreme weather conditions. In the end, I think we got a picture that fits perfectly with the music. Watching it, you can almost feel freezing cold rain slashing at your face. I’ve no doubt our best video thus far.“

With sharp, unflinching viciousness and a sense of atmosphere unique to the band, no one combines death and black metal quite like Poland’s Hate. On Rugia, their savage twelfth full-length, they push the boundaries of their craft even further.

Rugia was tracked at Hertz Recording Studio in Poland, and recorded, mixed, and mastered by the Wieslaski Brothers (Behemoth, Decapitated) with longtime collaborator Michal Staczkun providing the ambient elements of the band’s signature sound. Additionally, the record marks Hate‘s thirtieth year of activity. ATF Sinner affirms he is as driven as ever. “The fire is still burning! I’m proud that I have built a band with such strong energy, that’s lasted for a long time in spite of numerous line-up changes and obstacles in our way. We are still here, and we create with ever growing consciousness and dedication. The energy speaks through us. Honestly, I think of the band as something much bigger and more profound than the individual people involved in it over any given period of time. I believe we create a channel for energies that surpass us.“

Hate‘s Rugia is available on CD, LP, and digital formats. Preview and purchase the record at: metalblade.com/hate
