WILDSTREET Release New Single + Lyric Video ‘Mrs. Sleazy’

WILDSTREET’s latest album III (1.6 million streams) was released via Golden Robot Records in June. It boasted some incredibly successful singles like ‘Mother’, ‘Set It Off’, ‘Still Love You’ and ‘Born To Be’. III gathered a huge amount of critical acclaim both with fans and press alike, and saw some amazing album reviews.

To follow on from the success of III, Wildstreethave given their fans a real treat with their cover of The 69 EYES hit, ‘Mrs. Sleazy’, which is out now digitally via Golden Robot Records.

WILDSTREET recorded their cover of The 69 EYES ‘Mrs. Sleazy’ after Jyrki 69 responded to this question on Twitter in 2011: ‘Which songs & which bands would you want to record covers of your songs?’ Never playing the song as a band, they quickly demoed the song, and recruited drummer Dennis Leeflang (Bumblefoot) to guest on the final track. WILDSTREET intended to release the song in December 2012 as a free ‘Christmas gift’ for fans, but with an industry in transition and the band on the verge of breakup the cover was never properly released until now.

WILDSTREET’s‘Mrs. Sleazy’ pays obvious tribute to the The 69 EYES. The band effortlessly captures the original song’s Helsinki punk-rock attitude, while not at all subtly (ie: guitar harmonies and a frantic two hand tapping guitar solo) reminding the listener that this is WILDSTREET.

Making friends and headlines, the band has spent most of 2021 touring in the USA. Their ‘Kings Of World Tour’ has included a stop at Rockfest WI in July & will take them to Europe in October to perform alongside label mates Hardcore Superstar at Swiss Rock Cruise. Their tour plans in Europe include shows in Switzerland, France & Belgium. 2022 will begin with tour dates in Mexico and Colombia with Crashdiet& HRH Spring Break in the United Kingdom.

GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT Release New Video for ‘Luminous Waves’

Reigning as one of the most well-known and highly critically acclaimed experimental instrumental groups out there with a respected musical legacy spanning nearly 20 years, Irish four-piece GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT reached a career benchmark with the release of their critically acclaimed 10th studio album, Ghost Tapes #10, in February 2021.

Today, GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT releases a magical music video for “Luminous Waves“, the album closer on Ghost Tapes #10. Musically and visually, the track portrays the beauty and calm of the ocean. A gentle melody is created by a binaural-like bass, a slow-paced acoustic guitar and an ambient electric guitar blur with the mellow sounds of featured cellist Jo Quail and atmospheric background tones, which draws its listeners down into dazing depths. “Luminous Waves” remains entirely without drums and adapts to its own natural rhythm, just as constantly pushing and pulling ocean waves, before it softly fades out into infinity.

Torsten Kinsella on Luminous Waves:
“The song “Luminous Waves” was inspired by the meditative feeling of the waves coming in from the Ocean.
Jo Quail added a beautiful and inspiring Cello and also created the atmospheric sounds.”

Jo Quail adds:
“Writing and recording the cello lines for “Luminous Waves” was a privilege. The depth, richness and meditative nature of this track implied a clear narrative to me, that I hoped to convey a little within the parts I created, working in and around the many moments of sonic and textural beauty created by GIAA.”

AIRBAG Reveal Details Of Upcoming Acoustic Album And DVD Release

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 19, 2021

When Karisma Records released AIRBAG‘s fifth full-length album “A Day at the Beach” in June 2020, neither band nor label, or indeed the fans themselves, realised that the Pandemic would soon rage throughout the world, putting paid to any plans bands may have had to play live in front of an audience.

Eager to showcase their songs and show fans that they had not been abandoned by the band, AIRBAG came up with the idea of not just recording an acoustic set, but also of filming the recording process itself, which resulted in the band  entering  the Subsonic Society Studio in Oslo to set the process in motion.

As AIRBAG explained:

2020 had been a difficult year for us all. With our new album, “A Day at the Beach”, released in June of that year we had planned to tour and play live for all our fans and friends but it was not to be. Still, we wanted to do something special that would keep us connected to our fans and also to say thanks for everyone’s support in these trying times. Doing this acoustic session allowed us to revisit songs from the new album and a few old ones as well. A new challenge for sure but a fun and inspiring experience.

Having successfully streamed a portion of the studio set last Autumn, the full acoustic album, appropriately titled “A Day in the Studio” is now ready to hit the streets in December of this year.  As well as the three tracks from “A Day at the Beach”, the new album will feature two classic tracks, “Colours” and “Sounds That I Hear” from AIRBAG’s 2009 album “Identity”, plus  a previously unreleased track “Come on In”.

Both the CD and Vinyl versions come with a DVD of the original streamed session which shows AIRBAG in an intimate setting, away from the usual festival stages, which is where fans are most used to seeing them.

As to the decision to make “A Day in the Studio” an acoustic album, AIRBAG had this to say:

Most of our songs start out on an acoustic guitar and it’s always been about the melodies that go into making a great song. Since we never got to tour our latest album, “A Day at the Beach”  due to the pandemic, going  back into the studio with just acoustic guitars gave us the chance to revisit those songs.

We really didn’t intend for it to be more than a lockdown session, which everyone was doing at the time, but it sounded really good, with slightly different arrangements and all three of us singing. So we ended up with two sessions and digging deep into our catalogue to find songs that fit really well with the new stuff.

Mixed by Vegard Kleftås Sleipnes and filmed by Eirik Stordrange, tracklisting for “A Day in the Studio” is as follows:

  1. Machines and Men (A Day at the Beach)
  2. Sunsets (A Day at the Beach)
  3. Into the Unknown (A Day at the Beach)
  4. Come on In (previously unreleased)
  5. Colours (Identity – cd/vinyl only)
  6. Sounds That I Hear (Identity – cd/vinyl only)

“A Day in the Studio” will be released on Karisma Records on the 3rd of December,  is now available to pre-order from:

Adept at blending diverse musical styles and sounds with a strong narrative listening experience, AIRBAG has been  hailed as one of the most important bands to emerge from the Norwegian prog scene over the past decades. Formed  in the mid 2000’s with a lineup that comprised five high school class mates, two of whom,  Asle Tostrup on vocals and Bjørn Riis on guitars, have been joined by  Henrik Bergan Fossum on drums and form today’s incarnation of AIRBAG as a trio.

IMARI TONES Release New Official Video For ‘Jidai’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 19, 2021
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Imari Tones. Leave a comment

Christian metal group IMARI TONES have released a new official video ‘Jidai’ taken from their recent double album Nabeshima. Here’s the bands statement that goes along with the video; “Shinryu, our drummer, is also a professional martial artist. In this video he appears as a Samurai who travels through deep woods, seeking strength and spiritual truth. (Ah, yes, Samurai with shades). He shows his sword moves as well as his drumming skills. The highlight of this movie is where Shinryu does his Karate training near a big waterfall, which is nothing but a spectacular sight.

The song Jidai has mysterious mood from ancient Japan. We like to call it a “Mysterious Ninja Progressive tune”. The lyrics is about the ephemeral nature of time. Changing nature of existence through time. Jidai means time, or era in Japanese (時代). We also meant Jidaigeki (時代劇) which is a word for old Samurai movies.

Jidai is not a Christian song. It’s more like a progressive song based on Japanese ancient spirit. Probably this song is standing on the line between Japanese Pagan Metal and Christian Rock. But that’s one of the themes we worked on Nabeshima album. The song has a unique character and rhythm structure and we hope you can feel the mystery and awesomeness.”

Imari Tones – Nabeshima
Nabeshima is a double album consisting of 24 songs. While people may be amazed at the volume, it certainly takes listeners to a mysterious journey through ancient Japan. Unknown fantasy world where Japanese traditional culture and Christianity meet. The songs are sung both in English and Japanese. 11 songs are sung in English while 11 songs are in Japanese. The other 2 tracks are instrumental. The musical style is very diverse. It has some of the heaviest songs from Imari Tones, as well as some of the most outlandish progressive songs. At the same time it has straightforward pop songs and beautiful ballads. Read more …here

Available now from: Shop Sliptrick | Apple Music | Spotify | & other major stores

Imari Tones are:
Takahiro “Tone” Nakamine – Guitars/Vocals | Marie – Bass | Shinryu – Drums
