Gore fueled death metallers PATHOLOGY recently announced their 11th studio album, “The Everlasting Plague”, to be released on November 19th via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band releases the guitar playthrough for the second single ‘As The Entrails Wither’ which can be seen here:
“The Everlasting Plague” was recorded earlier this year at Sharkbite Studios. The album was produced by Zack Ohren who also handled engineering and mixing. The demented priest sometimes seen gracing the cover of other PATHOLOGY albums makes a reappearance here as an apex zombie ripping the flesh from his fellow dead man as he ascends to the top of a demolished city. Long-time artist companion Par Olofsson returned to the PATHOLOGY fold to design the piece.
Floridia’s masters of death metal, MASSACRE, have debuted a gruesome music video today for their brand new single “Whisperer In Darkness,” which is found on their highly anticipated 4th full-length album, “Resurgence,” that’s out October 22nd from Nuclear Blast.
Commenting on the new single, vocalist Kam Lee states: “This is the band’s love ballad. The first song we wrote together for the album, the one that brings us together in sweet harmony like honey and butter covered toast. It’s like a warm cozy cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter’s morning… with marsh-mellows even. Until the horrid eldritch tentacle reaches up out of the toilet and violently picks you up off your feet and slams you face first into the concrete floor. Broken teeth, spurting blood and gore as parts of your tongue are torn from your maw while this hideous creature crawls its way up your rectum. Like I said… a love ballad.”

Nomenclature. Packing a pummeling 10 tracks of ink-black madness; Nomenclature delves into themes of mysticism and the dark nature surrounding primitive medicine circa 1700. Tales of horror surrounding ghastly practices, diseases mistaken for malevolent forces, and the terrors of crude medicine set the stage for an auditory onslaught, sculpted with scalpel-like precision. Nomenclature will cast you into a world of science and occult/superstitions; the horrors of primitive medicine and malpractice. IATT brings forth a sinister blend of extreme blackened progression sure to leave you foaming at the mouth.

Formed in 2007 in Perth, Western Australia, heavy stoner and doom act ATOLAH burst into the scene with their first acclaimed, instrumental EP “Relics” via PsycheDOOMelic Records in 2009, followed by extensive touring schedules all over Australia. After a longtime break, ATOLAH finally announced their return with the release of the Post, Cross and Yoke EP through Sleeping Church Records!
Back in 2010, the band relocated to The Netherlands and two new members were recruited, while they also added vocals for the first time in ATOLAH’s history. A year later, they entered the Void Studio, ran by Pieder Kloos (The Blood Ceremony, Peter Pan Speedrock ) and recorded Post, Cross and Yoke, which was never released properly due to the band going on hiatus shortly after. Fast forward to 2020 and Pierre, the band’s founding member and main songwriter, resuscitated ATOLAH in Melbourne, Australia. It is only in 2021 that new members were found: Clint (Hand of Doom Radio/Thaw) on guitar and Tim (Clagg). Finally, and almost 10 years after recording this beast of an EP, November 12, 2021 will see French underground powerhouse label Sleeping Church Records release Post, Cross and Yoke for the first time ever on CD and as a double EP bundle!

“Atolah is back, continuing with a new Melbourne line-up.” Bassist / vocalist Pierre comments. “We are really excited to be back on the Aussie doom landscape after all these years and cannot wait to play shows with so many quality bands. This “half release, half re-release” will enable us to play our old songs, some of which have never been played live outside of Europe. The past is alive so to speak, however, we will soon be working on new material and hopefuly reach a new audience.”
After the great respond from fans and listeners, NEKROMANT are back with their second single called ‘Behind The Veil Of Eyes‘.
Standing on the shoulders of metal giants such as Black Sabbath and Pentagram, Swedish trio Nekromant are well versed in the art of crushing riffs and powerful melodies, boasting a sound that echoes the might of the past with an eye cast toward the future. With a much admired set of releases to their name, the three-piece have been turning heads wherever they go with their authentic and effortlessly brilliant old school metal assault. From a punishing percussive battery through to the Iommi-esque guitars, this power-trio understand that the riff is king, as demonstrated throughout their superb new album. The first fruits of their new deal with celebrated Swedish label Despotz Records arrive late 2021 and is packed with ambitious metal gems such as ‘The Woods’, the epic ‘Behind The Veil Of Eyes’ and the doom-laden ‘Olórin’s Song’. The as yet untitled album marks a new chapter in the band’s musical evolution.
Nekromant about the new single: ‘This song is cold as ice but at the same time warming. The lyrics convey a notion of hopelessness but acceptance before an impending doom. Adam delivers the vocals in the verses with great merit. In short, a joyful little tune about darkness and death. // Nekromant
The album ‘Temple Of Haal’ embraces a typical Swedish darkness in amongst a desire to reject the notion of living life through social media and seeks to reconnect with the things that really matter. The new album is an unashamedly old school heavy metal record, blessed with crushing riffs and inescapable hooks. The band, originally known as Serpent, have a large and loyal following, and the new album is very much in keeping with what those fans have come to expect from this acclaimed Scandinavian three-piece. With single ‘The Woods’ proving to be a perfect calling card for the upcoming, Nekromant are in the perfect position to fulfill that early promise with ‘Temple Of Haal’, and bring a new level of Swedish bleakness to the world.
Finnish metallers POST PULSE make metal music from Helsinki. In the north, it’s common to think about death, loss, sadness, and pain when the months get dark and cold. As the world experiences an extreme level of death, Post Pulse has written an anthem about those lost and what it’s like to deal with that loss.
FIGURES ON THE SAND is an epic track that combines the elements of doom, punk, and death metal in a way that is a signature sound of Post Pulse. The lyrics are about pain, loss, and dealing with death in a sincere and human way. While Post Pulse doesn’t shy away from producing emotional music, FIGURES ON THE SAND is by far the most emotionally intense song in their repertoire so far.
SCORCHING THE SKY takes a broader view of the world, our times, and the speed at which we seem to be extinguishing humanity. We know that human life has a time limit in the lifespan of our universe. This song shares our feeling about how humans seem to want to accelerate our extinction. The music is much more upbeat and aggressive, with a few progressive elements used tastefully throughout the track.
With titles like FIGURES ON THE SAND and SCORCHING THE SKY, it only made sense to guitarist Antti Karhu to create an EP cover with an earthy feel. Compared with some other Post Pulse cover artwork, this straightforward image speaks perfectly to the feeling you can expect from this release.
The lyric video for FIGURES ON THE SAND was conceptualized and produced by bassist Sam Roon and guitarist Antti Karhu. Using a video manipulation tool to create various glitch effects, timed with different instrumental parts of the song, there is a consistent pulse to the overwhelming visual display. Lyrics are layered on top of the manipulated image, so they are possible to read.
