One of the brightest stars in the symphonic metal universe pays tribute to one of the biggest bands of all time: BEYOND THE BLACK releases their cover of IRON MAIDEN‘s “Wasted Years” – a splendorous, honorable and timeless homage with a strong female voice that just fits perfectly to the sonic image.

The song is available to stream exclusively on Amazon Music Prime, Amazon Music Unlimited, and Amazon Music HD here.

And for those who already are waiting to experience the song live – BEYOND THE BLACK will perform “Wasted Years” as Acoustic Version this Monday, September 27th, during the Rock Your Monday Live Show live on Twitch.

BEYOND THE BLACK states:
“This cover version is not only a heartfelt tribute to a band we admire, but also to the troubled times we live in. As always in life, our experience is a matter of perspective and we hope to be an anchor to those who could use some support at the moment.”

With their astronomical rise after the release of their debut album “Songs Of Love And Death”, the band around singer Jennifer Haben went supersonic – most recently reaching a number of impressive chart positions with fourth LP “Horizons”.
Lauded by press and fans alike, the band gained immediate international interest as they quickly became the most successful Symphonic Metal band to come out of Germany. Throughout their career they already shared stages with acts like AEROSMITH, KORN, SCORPIONS and WITHIN TEMPTATION.

BEYOND THE BLACK will start 2022 with a breath taking co-headline tour throughout Europe alongside label mates AMARANTHE. Tickets are already on sale, the pairing will be stopping at:

EVERGREY Postpone European Tour to 2022

The “Recharging Europe” tour, featuring Swedish progressive metal juggernauts EVERGREY, was scheduled to begin in just a few weeks. But, due to the continuing uncertainty regarding live events, these shows – like so many others – will be postponed to 2022.

Tickets that have already been purchased will remain valid. In addition to the new dates, the tour itself – being re-dubbed “European Tour 2022” – will also see some minor changes, with progressive death metallers Fractal Universe from Nancy, France and Swiss/Italian unit Virtual Symmetry (who previously toured with EVERGREY in 2015) joining the line-up. These two bands will replace this year’s scheduled guests Witherfall and Dust In Mind.

All in all, the most important thing is – where first-class progressive metal is promised, first-class progressive metal is what you’ll get! This is what Gothenburg’s finest export EVERGREY has embodied since 1993. Their gloomy mood and their thoughtful art of writing along with brilliant musical versatility are the trademarks of the matchless force led by singer and guitarist Tom S. Englund. With Escape Of The Phoenix, EVERGREY unveiled their twelfth studio album back in February 2021, that will also be part of the shows in autumn 2022.

“Given the nature of the current world situation it is simply not feasible to go on tour in Europe and UK,” the band says with regrets. “It involves too much insecurity and risk, and too much money for too many people. With that said, we are confident enough to say that by this time next year we will be ready and firing on all cylinders. Aaaaaand we will also have released another album! So TWO albums in ONE tour! Not too shabby huh?!”

NILE mastermind Karl Sanders says about the signing with Napalm Records:
“The band is eagerly looking forward to bringing fans the next chapters in the NILE saga, as part of the Napalm Family. We have been quietly working away, earnestly writing new songs for the next NILE album. It will be NILE’s 10th record, and we are determined to make it especially killer for the fans.”

Drummer George Kollias adds:
“Absolutely thrilled that we are a part of Napalm Records and super excited for the new album that’s coming soon, first one with our new label! I feel this is a very crucial moment in our career and I would like to thank Napalm Records for their trust in us – I know we will do some incredible music together! NILE has always kept raising the bar without compromising a single thing and this is what we will do for the next album too. Working on our new album as we speak, and we are hungry as hell to deliver our very best yet!”

Sebastian Muench, Napalm Records A&R, says:
“For me, NILE has always been the most amazing technical death metal band in the world. Starting with Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka in 1998, NILE have released nine “instant classic” albums! Welcome to the Napalm family!”

In other news, NILE recently announced that they will release a new anthology guitar tablature book via Sheet Happens on September 30, 2021. The book is available to order now. For more information, visit www.sheethappenspublishing.com/artists/nile.

Karl Sanders says about the tablature book:
“Also coming out soon is a retrospective NILE anthology guitar tab book that was months in the making. We had a blast putting it together with the Sheet Happens people, who really do incredible work presenting totally on point metal guitar tabs. Accurate NILE tabs are something NILE fans have been asking me for many years, and I felt strongly about only putting out a NILE tab book if we could get it 100% authentic. And these tabs are the real thing. I sincerely am happy to share this book, and the music within, with NILE fans and guitarists alike.”

ME AND THAT MAN Release Second Single + Official Video “Angel Of Light” (ft. Myrkur)

Behemoth mastermind Adam “Nergal” Darski and his dark folk/blues/Americana influenced solo project ME AND THAT MAN just released the soulful blues-rock ballad “Angel of Light” featuring the compelling voice of Myrkur – setting another milestone within the scene and following the millions of streams of his previous tracks.

After the first release of the album’s track “Got Your Tongue” (ft. Chris Georgiadis) connected with groovy riffs, humorous acting and a deep hitting bassline, ME AND THAT MAN now presents a different facet with “Angel Of Light” – a soulful blues-rock ballad featuring the intoxicating hum of Amalie Bruun (Myrkur) – sending shivers right down your spine. The new single comes with a hauntingly beautiful and bittersweet music video, featuring both, Nergal and Myrkur.

Nergal about “Angel Of Light”:
“Behold the “Angel of Light”! This song is perhaps the most sinister and dark Americana in our repertoire. Whilst we often offer a little smile and wink with our music, this is pure Luciferian splendour delivered by our very own angel, Amalie from Myrkur. It’s all yours now folks! Enjoy!”

Amalie adds:
“I am excited to collaborate with Nergal on this song and video, where I play the role of a woman who’s captured by the shadow. She looks for ways out and turns to the “Angel Of Light” for guidance and comfort.”

Watch the Official Video for “Angel Of Light” featuring Myrkur HERE:

Adam “Nergal” Darski has signed a menacing pact with the devil once again, returning with dark folk/blues/Americana influenced solo project ME AND THAT MAN’s third full-length studio album, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.2, on November 19, 2021 via Napalm Records.

Nergal on the new album:
“Here we go again, mother lovers! New Man, New Songs, Same Shit VOLUME 2. You guys know the drill, I recruited the best of the best in heavy music to collaborate on some unique tracks me and the Polish, Italian and Ukrainian crew have been working on over the last 18 months. Once again, the result, amazing and the performances, inspired! Thank you, Comrades – Abbath, Alissa, Amalie, Anders, Blaze, Chris G, Chris H, David, Devin, Douglas, Frank, Gary, Hank, Jeff, Kris, M.Goore, Michale, Ralf and Randy. Who knows when we’ll get together to play these songs but I will try my best to make it happen! Enjoy it everyone!”

Following the chart-breaking part one of the album, ME AND THAT MAN now present whole new facets: Opening track “Black Hearse Cadillac”, featuring the vocals of Hank von Hell and guitar sorcery by Anders Odden, marks a sinister beginning to this infernal journey through dark desert soundscapes and evil lyricism. Driving “Under The Spell” (feat. Mary Goore) lives up to its title, at times evoking a spaghetti western-esque ambience. Songs like wicked “Witches Don’t Fall in Love” (feat. Kristoffer Rygg/Ulver), straight-to-the-head rocking “Blues & Cocaine” (feat. Michale Graves) and mysterious “Goodbye” – with a haunting yet powerful vocal attack by Alissa White-Gluz – showcase the record’s extensive variety and that there’s something unexpected lurking all throughout. This is further evident on songs like the soulful blues-rock ballad “Angel of Light” featuring the compelling voice of Myrkur, or insanely dynamic, uptempo outburst of “Got Your Tongue” feat. Chris Georgiadis (Turbowolf).

After the enticing debut Songs of Love And Death (2017), followed by sophomore release New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.1, its sequel once again mirrors Nergal in a completely different light and provides a tremendous contrast to the extreme metal sounds of Behemoth.

New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.2 track listing:
1. Black Hearse Cadillac (feat. Hank Von Hell, Anders Odden)
2. Under the Spell (feat. Mary Goore)
3. All Hope Has Gone (feat. Blaze Bayley, Gary Holt, Jeff Mantas Dunn)
4. Witches Don’t Fall in Love (feat. Kristoffer Rygg)
5. Losing My Blues (feat. Olve Abbath Eikemo, Frank The Baptist, Chris Holmes)
6. Coldest Day in Hell (feat Ralf Gyllenhammar, Douglas Blair)
7. Year of the Snake (feat. David Vincent)
8. Blues & Cocaine (feat. Michale Graves)

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE – Jesse Leach (vocals), Adam Dutkiewicz (guitars), Joel Stroetzel (guitars), Mike D’Antonio (bass), and Justin Foley (drums) – have released the official video for “Us Against the World” from their latest album, Atonement, out now. Watch it below.

The footage is culled from the band’s August 2021 livestream event that took place at The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts – the site of many iconic and memorable KsE shows through the years. It was directed by David Brodsky and Allison Woest for MyGoodEye.

“This is one of my favorite songs off the album so I’m glad it is getting some attention and a visual component,” says Leach. “It’s a song about facing down the odds and finding confidence to overcome and conquer a situation. I originally wrote it as a battle cry song with my warrior Highland Scottish, Norwegian, and Swedish ancestors in mind. However, it can be about friendship, love, or even the camaraderie of being in a band traveling the world. The title says it all – ‘Us Against The World!’“
