Tornado on “Midnight Waylay” album: “Midnight Waylay depicts a ‘taking it easy in the daytime, turning into a beast at night’ kind of lifestyle. Just like a hunter strikes from the shadows, ruthless and silent, these songs can without warning rock your world. As a concept the album Midnight Waylay is best appreciated when served whole, but each song has its own character and works well independently. Find your own adventure, let yourself loose!”

Kimmo Kuusniemi, Godfather of Finnish heavy metal, on Gentle Savage’s debut album “Midnight Waylay”: “Listening to Gentle Savage reminds me of Deep Purple! That’s not bad at all!”

Tornado stated on the album coverart:
“TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY
Isn’t it strange that when you get something really big done you are at the same time relieved and a bit confused?! That’s how it feels like right now.
The cover art was created by our friend, graphic art wizard Vin Valentino. Vin and vocalist Tornado created the Midnight Waylay world based on Tornado’s visions of a Rock Band descending down to earth using a ‘stairway to heaven’. That’s Tornado’s way of showing his gratitude to the old great ones who showed the Rock’n Roll way for latter generations to roll. “

OBSCURA Release Third Single & Video ‘Devoured Usurper’ From Upcoming Album

The virtuosos of OBSCURA strike again with a third single, taken from the upcoming album “A Valediction”, which is set to be released on November 19th through Nuclear Blast Records.

This time they reveal the probably most brutal and darkest track from the album – “Devoured Usurper”.
Band leader Steffen Kummerer comments: “Merciless, moldered and putrid alike – “Devoured Usurper” showcases a crude abrasive side to shake some bodies at live shows in the near future. With utterly brutality the song depaints an inevitable reckoning and underlines the death metal roots of Obscura.”

And once again the band worked with Mirko Witzki on the video, who also produced “Solaris”, “A Valediction” and previous videos for Obscura.

Steffen reveals: “We recorded the music video at famous Stress Studio in Graz, Austria, where also drums for the new album have been tracked. We preprare our live shows and assemble parts of our production in this unique environment before we embark on upcoming tours.”

Watch the video here:

“A Valediction” is now finally up for pre-order and pre-save via this link: https://bfan.link/Obscura

The band will head out for their European tour right after the release and tickets are on sale now.
You can catch OBSCURA on one of the following European live dates:

EPICA Launch “Epica”-Beer in Cooperation with Kazematten Brewery

If you’re still searching for the perfect drink to enjoy while headbanging on your couch to the upcoming “Ωmega Alive” release, look no further! Together with the renowned Belgian craft beer brewery Kazematten, symphonic metal titans EPICA created a their own “Epica Beer” that is now available at: https://www.kazematten.be/en/beers/epica/

Guitarist Isaac Delahaye comments the new partnership: “Being born and raised in Ypres (Belgium), and having seen the rich history of Belgian craft beers, I didn’t have to think twice to accept the proposal of my hometown brewery to create a custom EPICA lager beer.
Together with the team at Kazematten, who have been perfecting the recipe with passion, knowhow and tremendous craftsmanship for the last 18 months, we came up with this easy to drink and unbelievably smooth 5,4% beer.
Tasting the final result sure put a smile on the faces of everyone in the band, and we all quickly grabbed another one.”

Just like the band itself, Epica Beer is a great combination of very different flavours. The unmistakable biscuit malt backbone, supported by an irresistible touch of honey, alternates with lovely citrus notes and a spiciness that packs a punch. With just the right amount of hoppy bitterness, Epica has a well-balanced, refreshing taste that pairs nicely with a burger, hot wings or a pizza!

Just recently, EPICA have announced the release of their “Ωmega Alive” streaming event. Brought to life by 75 artists and crew members, the larger-than-life-show will be released on December 3rd and comes with tailor-made videos and graphic effects, spectacular pyro effects, rain, dancers, choirs and actors. A first glimpse is still available here:

Download or stream the song here: https://bfan.link/omega-alive.ema

Since forming in 2002, the band has amassed an incredible amount of success, their current album Ωmega entered the album Top 10 in Germany, Holland, Belgium and Switzerland. EPICA has toured the globe, performing at venerable festivals including Wacken, Hellfest, Heaven & Hell Festival, Heavy MTL and Download, while also staging shows in countries where many metal bands have not played including South Korea, South Africa and Venezuela.

With ‘Woven Into Sorrow’ Finnish death doom metal masters SWALLOW THE SUN present a new single and video taken off their upcoming album ‘Moonflowers’, which will be released worldwide on November 19th and can be pre-ordered as of today.

The brand-new track is the first heavy version to be released of the record, as the band already released very special classical editions of the regular album songs. Both versions – classical string and regular album version – are as dark and mournful as we are accustomed to SWALLOW THE SUN.

Frontman Mikko Kotamäki comments,
“Here it is! The first single of ‘Moonflowers’ is out! ‘Woven Into Sorrow’ is probably the gloomiest track of the album. The backing growls for this song came by Antti Hyyrynen from Stam1na. Enjoy the misery!”

Watch the video to ‘Woven Into Sorrow’ HERE:

‘Moonflowers’ will be available as Ltd. Deluxe sky blue 3LP+2CD & Art Print Box Set, Ltd. 2CD Mediabook, Gatefold black 2LP+CD and digital album (incl. Bonus album) and can be pre-ordered HERE: https://swallowthesun.lnk.to/Moonflowers as of now.

DAWN OF SOLACE, the solo-project by WOLFHEART‘s Tuomas Saukkonen, is gearing up for the release of his third studio album, entitled “Flames of Perdition”. Out on November 12th via Noble Demon, “Flames of Perdition” picks up where its predecessor left off, creating a world full of electrifying melancholy that evokes profound sadness. After pleasing fans with a first single recently (“White Noise“), DAWN OF SOLACE is proud to present the second single, “Skyline” today.

“I am sure that everybody is familiar at least in some level with the feeling of weight that seems to increase with each day and the darkness before the dawn is like a shelter that conceals you for a moment from the chaos until the dawn ignites the skyline and pulls you back into the cold white light.” Tuomas Saukkonen states.

Listen to “Skyline”, featuring Mikko Heikkilä of Kaunis Kuolematon on vocals, right here:

As a true master of his craft, Tuomas Saukkonen once again invites the listener on a dark journey through the spheres of melodic doom. With eight brand new songs (+two bonus tracks), the upcoming full-length record is exactly what you would expect to get from the death and goth metal icon: beautiful melodies and a breathtaking atmosphere of incomparable class.

“Flames of Perdition” is available for pre-order digitally, in different vinyl colors, as digipak CD or in various merch bundles here:
