ENSLAVED Release Video for ‘Ruun II – The Epitaph’, New EP Out Today

WISDOM AND CHAOS MUST UNITE, THE STORM WILL LINGER ON…

Enslaved’s new EP Caravans To The Outer Worlds has today been released unto the universe, alongside a beautiful video for the track Ruun II – The Epitaph. Viewers should note that the video is part two – a second part to the video which accompanied the EP title track.

A new cycle is underway, and Enslaved find themselves on a bridge between the archaic and the unmapped. Caravans To The Outer Worlds EP is a tale of departure, of leaving behind a barren and desolate world, travelling boldly into the future. There are outer worlds to go to and new havens to rebuild in, to invoke a new dawn and to defend the new world for those of Sense and Earth.

Order Caravans To The Outer Worlds physically + digitally here: https://bfan.link/caravans-to-the-outer-worlds.ema

Watch the new video for Ruun II – The Epitaph here:

Grutle Kjellson stated,
“Releasing an EP is a huge privilege, it really is. It is somehow reliving to go on a stroll away from the the album format, and take some leaps into obscurity in between two full lengths. There’s so many great and experimental EP’s in music history; Magical Mystery Tour, Garage Days Revisited, Deathcrush, The Golden Years… just to mention a very few. We hope Caravans To The Outer Worlds, our third EP in 30 years, can fascinate and inspire.”

Ivar Bjørnson stated,
“This EP is an expression of the vital state Enslaved is in – the idea to create a transitory release between Utgard and what is to come next logically led to the idea of an EP. Iver’s idea of adding short intermezzos between the two main songs gave this release even more energy and depth. This EP is one that points backwards towards our early works as well as forward to a yet unknown place we seem to be heading for.”

Caravans To The Outer Worlds EP contains neck breaking riffage that points backwards to the raw beginnings of Enslaved – the title track marking an explosive lift-off with melodic breakaways and proggy slingshots onto new orbits, while the ominous Ruun II: The Epitaph takes a sombre dive into the murky and mysterious ocean of stars beyond the known. These two main pieces are framed by two intermezzos: Intermezzo I: Lönnlig. Gudlig. and Intermezzo II: The Navigator; wrapping up the main stories with respectively what came before and what is to come…

MINISTRY Release Bold New Music Video For ‘Disinformation’, New Record Out Now

In celebration of the release of brand-new album “Moral Hygiene” – out TODAY via Nuclear Blast – MINISTRY release the explosive new music video for the latest single, ‘Disinformation’ about the slippery slope we find ourselves in when consuming mass media without critical thinking. See it here:

“Moral Hygiene” is MINISTRY’s 15th studio album and features some of the project’s strongest and most inspired material to date. It features the creative masterwork of founder and creator Al Jourgensen who spent the pandemic pause in 2020 ruminating on the new world we as a society have found ourselves in – while pondering just what we are going to do about it.

Stream “Moral Hygiene” here: http://nblast.de/MinistryMoralHygiene

The 10 tracks are a follow-up to 2018’s lauded “AmeriKKKant” and put forth Jourgensen’s societal manifesto and plea for civilization to get back to a set of standards that lives up to and embraces our humanity.

Previous singles have included ‘Alert Level’ (sounding the alarm on the state society is in), ‘Good Trouble’ (a rallying cry to fight for human rights in homage to Civil Rights leader John Lewis) and ‘Search And Destroy’ (the unique take on The Stooges classic), the latter of which features guitar virtuoso Billy Morrison (Billy Idol/Royal Machines). Morrison is also heavily featured on a number of songs on the album. The record also includes a collaboration with Jello Biafra (Jourgensen’s cohort in side project LARD) on ‘Sabotage Is Sex’.

“Moral Hygiene” was recorded with engineer Michael Rozon (also behind the boards on “AmeriKKKant”) at Scheisse Dog Studio, Jourgensen’s self-built home studio and creative lab. As with all MINISTRY albums, all songs are written and performed by Al Jourgensen. Additional contributions come from Billy Morrison (Billy Idol, Royal Machines), Cesar Soto (Man The Mute), John Bechdel (Killing Joke, Fear Factory), Roy Mayorga (Stonesour, Soulfly, Nausea), Paul D’Amour (Tool, Feersum Ennjin), Arabian Prince (N.W.A.), Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys) and sitar player Flash.

Here is what media has had to say about “Moral Hygiene”:

“MINISTRY’s new LP ‘Moral Hygiene’ is one of their best … ‘Moral Hygiene’ has quickly become one of my favorite records of 2021 … MINISTRY mastermind Al Jourgensen has come back to embrace some of the soundscapes found in the band’s earlier releases.” – Metal Insider

“’Moral Hygiene’ is truly an album for its time. … It is fresh, relevant, and stacked with incisive socio-political commentary from one of extreme music’s veterans of discontented rage. … Exciting, angry, and unapologetic: exactly how we like our MINISTRY.” – Hysteria Magazine

“Having bands like MINISTRY around is still pretty critical when it feels like the social contract is hanging together by a thread. … What Jourgensen has been able to do … is make each MINISTRY album a statement about the world we live in now and what we should do to make it better. The music is as abrasive and confrontational as ever.” – Wall Of Sound

Instrumental Trio NAVIAN Release Outstanding New Single ‘Apricity’

The instrumental prog trio NAVIAN are back to the spotlight with their new phenomenal single “Apricity”. Listen to this dreamy, sonic masterpiece here: https://orcd.co/apricity!

“Apricity” is the third single off Navian’s upcoming debut album “Cosmos”, to be released on Nov 19 via Indie Recordings.

As the band states: “What makes ‘Apricity’ stand out on the record is its feel of melancholy, the sense of longing and atmospheric vibe combined with the odd-timed and low-tuned heavy sections. With this track we wanted to create a space for the listener to dream themselves away in, before being dragged right back into the heavy patterns giving them the feel of being struck by a meteor.”

Norwegian prog trio Navian are inspired by bands like Plini, Intervals, and Polyphia. Navian build their music on technical melodies, interesting rhythms, big soundscapes, and groovy hooks! RockNews (CH) described Navian’s music as ‘special and challenging in so many ways’, while ManofMuchMetal (US) writes that their debut EP “skips along with a freshness and a bounce that is entirely infectious…

Navian builds their music on technical melodies, interesting rhythms, big soundscapes, and groovy hooks.

The guys met while taking a bachelor’s degree in contemporary music and were all working as session musicians. It is safe to say that the trio have an above average interest in music theory and history, production, instruments, and gear. Navian started out as a musical playground, a place where the members could challenge themselves and write the music they most wanted to play. “Practicing on something really hard, something that feels like we’re never going to master, and to spend numerous hours to finally achieve it. That feeling of pure joy is indescribable. It’s something we all love. It could perhaps be compared to sports, and how the sense of achievement hits you when you make the most crucial score of the game.”

The band came together in just one month. It all started with the bass player attending a concert with Polyphia and instantly thinking that he had to start a band like this. From there, the line-up was set, but they didn’t really get things going before their first festival booking, giving them one month to finish tracks for a full set. The intense work turned to great success, leading the band to continue the work for a full length.

Right before the first lock down in the home country Norway, they played at the Norwegian show case festival by:Larm, where the audience “sang” along to the track “Multiplayer”.

WALTARI Present First Single ‘Misty Man’ from Forthcoming “3rd Decade – Anniversary Edition”

Today marks the release of a contemporary re-recording of “Misty Man” by Finnish crossover veterans WALTARI, featuring guest vocals by Niki from Finnish all female hard rockers Barbe-Q-Barbies. The original song was a single on its own back in 1994 and one of the key tracks in Waltari’s classic album “So Fine!” – back then, just like today, embodying “the real rocker person with the wild, positive mind”, according to main man Kärtsy Hatakka. Whereas the first version had a strong electronic base, the group “wanted to make the song sound like it was meant to be in the first place – and who could have been a better choice for a rock voice here than our friend Niki from the old Helsinki live club Nosturi!

““Misty Man” is going to be featured in Waltari‘s 30th anniversary album “3rd Decade – The Anniversary Edition” (Metalville Records – release date November 26th)

Niki’s comment:

“I was really honored to be asked to be part of Waltari’s anniversary album. It was also fun to get to sing „Misty Man” with my own touch/style on it.
My Band Barbe-Q-Barbies used to practice next door to Waltari in the legendary “Nosturi” that sadly doesn’t exist anymore. So we used to bump into each other in the hallways often. I also remember Waltari from the early 90s hearing their songs on the radio and seeing them perform on the famous “Jyrki Music” TV show.
I’m also very excited that “Misty Man” will be the first single from the album.”

Kärtsy’s comment:

“Misty Man” has always been standing as a romantic view about the real rocker person with the wild positive mind. One must remember, that the original rockers always had a very positive attitude towards the future!
1994, when the original version was made, we were so deep into the electronic world that we kinda missed the original lyrical point of the song. Well, it was good at that time for sure, but now we wanted finally to make the song sound like it was originally meant to be.
And, who could have been a better featuring choice for a rock voice here, (even in this case a female one!), like our neighbour fellow from the old Helsinki band land “Nosturi” called Niki from the Barbe-Q-Barbies!”

“3rd Decade – Anniversary Edition” and is available in all digital platforms now, to be found here: https://waltari.lnk.to/3rdDecadeAnniversaryEdition
