“A song about the division, isolation and negativity created by the frenetic usage of social media. An inspiration to look at the real world and to explore friendship that might be right there, next to you”. // Donna Cannone
After opening the book on Donna Cannone with the gloriously hook-filled slice of melodic rock n roll, that was debut single ‘Cross the Line’, the Swedish/Italian quartet, featuring two former Thundermothers as well as the Soilwork/The Nightflight Orchestra main man Bjorn ‘Speed’ Strid are back with the equally wonderful ‘Nothing to Do’. Focussing on the influence of social media on everything in the world, ‘Nothing to Do’ urges the listener to take a look at the real world, the answers you seek might right there waiting!
‘It all started as a game, something fun to do. As it should be.’
And with that, Donna Cannone was born. Former Thundermother member Giorgia Cateri (guitars) and her fellow Italian ex-pat found themselves heading to a rehearsal room a short while ago to play some music and, in their own words, ‘have some fun.’ Giorgia’s former Thundermother bandmate Tilda Stenqvist was brought in on drums as the trio began putting together a number of new songs. A knock at the door brought a surprise as, guitar in hand, Bjorn ‘Speed’ Strid (Soilwork, The Nightflight Orchestra) had heard what the band were up to and wanted in. Soon the quartet were recording demos, and one of these demos fell into the hands of Swedish label Despotz Records and a deal was soon done.
It is with great excitement we announce our signing with Despotz Records. We believe we can achieve some amazing things together and this unit is currently brewing something very interesting. -Something real, wicked, and fiery, that will both cross bridges and cross lines’
The first fruits of this collaboration is the band’s debut single – the infectious ‘Cross the Line’, taken from their upcoming album scheduled for early 2021.

Following the underground success of its 2018 debut, Between The Winds, Ohio, USA based project UNTAMED LAND – the world’s very first metal band incorporating the feral sounds of classic, old western cinematics – will unbridle its sophomore release, Like Creatures Seeking Their Own Forms, via Napalm Records on October 8, 2021.
While exploring influence and nuances from various strains of atmospheric metal, UNTAMED LAND traverses wild new frontiers – evoking the ambiance of classic Ennio Morricone/Spaghetti Western soundtracks and traditional old western instrumentals. While some listeners may be quick to label this a purely black metal album before diving into its depths, this description only scratches the surface.
Take a listen to brand UNTAMED LAND’s new single, “Clothed In Smoke”, and witness the track’s new music video today! The nearly 10-minute epic soars before peaking with a player piano-interlaced closing passage backed with fiddle, warning drums and electrifying guitars, adding a layered folk-like element to the already diverse offering.
Patrick Kern says:
“This song is probably the one most similar to the ‘epic’ atmospheric black metal approach taken by bands such as Summoning and Caladan Brood, but lots of other strains found their way in, such as doom metal, minimalism, and European/Celtic folk music. The title of the track, like the title of the album itself, is a phrase from McCarthy’s novel ‘Blood Meridian’, one of the darker western stories out there, and it perfectly fits the foreboding and mounting dread the music seeks to express.”

UNTAMED LAND mastermind, composer and sole performer of all instruments (except for accented violin performances by Rita Torrens and vocal contributions by Caroline Joy and Jacob Wherley), Patrick Kern, was initially inspired by what he describes as pagan, cosmic and even “doomy” black metal when writing the album, but the material bloomed in a way that is much more multifaceted to be categorized so singularly.
Patrick Kern adds about the album:
“I would hesitate to call this a black metal album. It’s meant to be a cinematic journey into a dark and fantastical old west setting, and various genres and sounds are used to bring that story to life. Lyrically, whereas the previous album dealt with the eternal struggle of the solar hero, this time we delve into a sort of gnostic “Beauty and the Beast” story, ultimately revolving around the feminine role in creation and the tension between the world of matter and the world of forms.
The album ended up reflecting my own spiritual journey that occurred all throughout the writing and production process. I had a great time experimenting with many different styles and sounds for this release and am excited to share this new chapter in the UNTAMED LAND world!”
The album begins with a haunting, yet whimsical old western inspired introduction, “Once Upon A Time In The Kenoma”, before ascending into the grimly epic, piano-laden “A Nameless Shape” – blending ghostly acoustics, doom-drenched riffs and icy screams as it cascades into a wave of blast beats, rhythmic guitars and operatic accent vocals. The track closes with a backing of dominant horns before leading into the introductory organs and forsaken rhythms of the dynamic, ebbing and flowing “Clothed In Smoke” – one of the album’s most movielike offerings. 15-minute standout “The Heavenly Coil” entrances with organ, harpsichord and acoustics before intertwining with progressive blackened metal ingredients instilled with outlaw temper. Like the veil of first dawn’s light, Spanish guitar and spirited drums close the track before effortlessly crossing into triumphant album closer “Achamōth”.
Like Creatures Seeking Their Own Forms is unique in all its facets – not only is it original, inspiring and an impressively eclectic album, it’s poised to cast the name UNTAMED LAND on the lips of every experimental metal fan upon its release. In a dry landscape of repetitive noise as far as the eye can see, Like Creatures Seeking Their Own Forms is an aural oasis.

Los Angeles based metalcore rockers STEREO TRAGEDY have unleashed their second single ‘Beyond Our Grave‘ taken from the upcoming self-titled debut album, coming out end of summer/early fall 2021, feat. Bjorn “Speed” Strid on all vocals.
The band on the single: “Our second single gaming MAJOR momentum! Check it out!”
The upcoming self-titled debut album was mixed and mastered by Thomas “Plec” Johansson, owner and producer at The Panic Room Studios. More information TBA.
Stereo Tragedy was birthed 4 July 2019 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after Jacob Bibee (guitarist, former Sever Your Ties) had a conversation reminiscing of the olden days in the metal scene with James “jimbo” Thomas. Following that conversation, another conversation was had with Amanda, Jacob’s wife, and it was evident that it was time for Jacob to make his reemergence into the music world after a 15 year hiatus.
After 6 months later, after many sleepless nights in the studio and intense composition trying to hone the correct sound for the band, the pandemic hit and the music industry essentially shut down. Jacob being solution oriented, decided to find a way that this whole world meltdown could be beneficial, and that’s when it happened.
Jacob noticed the infamous Bjorn “Speed” Strid post on social media that his bands (Soilwork, Donna Cannone, The Night Flight Orchestra) would no longer be touring for the foreseeable future. Jacob knew that Bjorn had often done guest appearances for bands, but Jacob decided to push the idea of Bjorn actually doing the entire album. After hearing a few songs, Bjorn agreed to do the album as a guest appearance, not as a permanent member, as he is completely busy and in step with his many great projects.
As the project began to unfold, it was time to bring in trusted and respected members into the fold. Jacob then contacted none other than Matt Cohen (bassist, NEW LANGUAGE) and Ryan Severino (drummer, former Scars Of Tomorrow). This was a very easy decision to contact these two as Jacob and Ryan played in a band in South Orange County, CA in the early 2000s, and Matt Cohen’s old bands used to share the stage with Jacob and Ryans bands back then as well.
With the agreement of Matt and Ryan to come on board, and a complete shutdown in Jacobs business ventures due in part to Covid-19, Jacob packed his bags and headed back to his great state of California to be closer to Matt and Ryan in Southern California.
The self-titled debut album was completed in Spring of 2021 and was mixed and mastered by none other than Thomas “Plec” Johansson of The Panic Room in Sweden. The album is set to release late summer 2021.
Once the album has been released, the band will then fill and announce the members of the two remaining roles: vocalist and guitarist.
