PARADOX Unleash Brand New Song ‘Mountains And Caves’ From Upcoming Album

When today’s thrash metal classic „Heresy“ was released in 1990, the world was different. The internet was nearly unknown. Mobiles were as big as buffalo bones. Wacken Open Air was a party for the village louts. These are stories from a long forgotten time. But Charly Steinhauer and his band PARADOX are still here and September 24, 2021 will see them release their brand new, 8th studio album, Heresy II – End of a Legend, through AFM Records!

The roots of the band go way back to 1981. After several changes of names, PARADOX was born in 1986. Their debut, “Product of Imagination“ (1987), came like a fresh breeze blowing through the scene, their concept album “Heresy” was the international breakthrough and catapulted the band into the first league of cult thrashers. More than 30 years later, PARADOX is finally releasing its worthy successor, Heresy II – End of a Legend.

After previously- released album singles, “Priestly Vows” and “The Visitors”, today PARADOX premiered another blistering song taken from their upcoming magnum opus! Listen to the brutally fast- paced thrash juggernaut, “Mountains And Caves“, right here:

For their new album, frontman Charly Steinhauer gathered round a very special line up: Guitar wizard Christian Münzner and long time bass player Olly Keller are back after a break of one album. Also PARADOX co-founder and drummer Alex Blaha returns on Heresy II – End of a Legend. Peter Vogt, who was the man behind the lyrical concept of the first two PARADOX albums and who wrote the story of the crusade of the Catholic Church against the schismatic Cathars in the 13th century, is also again a part of the band’s new record. Now, their tale finally continues: Musically and lyrically, Heresy II – End of a Legend starts where the first part ended in 1990.

“In 1244 at the siege of Montsegur, two groups of Knights were tasked with removing the ‘Cathar Treasure,“ Charly comments. “The story tells of the dangerous journey these two groups endured, and through visions they are getting told of the myth of Jesus Christ, that the real messiah was in fact John the Baptist.“ About their new single, “Mountains And Caves”, he tells us:
“After escaping the burning the two knights escape through secret tunnels in the mountain. For many days they run towards their home, no longer pursued they arrive back at the silent caves they call home, the villagers thinking they were dead are overjoyed to see them alive.

Mountains And Caves is one of the many fast songs from the new album and it’s pretty straight in face! A typical PARADOX delicacy with a solo part by Christian Münzner, who once again gets under your skin and shows how the lightning strikes!“

75 minutes between razor- sharp riffage, a pounding rhythm force and the distinctive voice of Charly, PARADOX stand true to their style. Heavily influenced by the first three Metallica records, the Bavarian outfit found and improved their sound decades ago. Old school meets new production techniques. Finally and after a long lean period, on September 24th fans can expect the return of thrash with class, while PARADOX succeed in sounding nostalgic and modern at the same time.

Heresy II – End of a Legend was produced by Steinhauer himself and mastered by Hannes Grossmann in MordorSound Studio in Veitsbronn, the album pre- sale is now available at THIS LOCATION!

IT WILL LAST Project To Release New Album ‘Nightmares In Daylight’, Out September 26th

Wanikiya Record is pleased to present the latest album of the music project IT WILL LAST, entitled ‘Nightmares In Daylight’, which will be released on September 26th, in digital format, on all the best world music stores, on the official website and showcase in Japan by Wanikiya Record, and also in physical Audio CD format!

“It Will Last” project comes to life at the end of 2018 on the initiative of Simone Carnaghi, multiinstrumentalist (bass / guitar / drums), composer, as well as teacher of bass, drums, guitar and ensemble music with many years of experience.

The name of the project “It Will Last” is inspired by a song contained in a previous cd-album ofunreleased songs entitled “Slender Hopes” (published in 2010) in which Simone Carnaghi composed all the songs (music and lyrics) and played all the instruments (bass, drums, guitars).

“Nightmares in Daylight”, the first cd-album of “It Will Last”, consists of 12 tracks lasting 57 minutes, including two tracks taken from “Slender Hopes”: “It will last” song (which, as mentioned, gives name to the project) and “Flying to the rainbow” song; both tracks has been completely revisited, rearranged and recorded again, creating an artistic continuity between the two projects, children of the same author but expression of very different musical styles.

The drafting of the new songs and the self-production of “Nightmares in Daylight” required a lot of work (over two years) and was made possible thanks to a wealth of experience gained live and in recording studios from 1998 to 2018.

“Nightmares in Daylight” is a concept album that talks about aspects that are slowly “consuming” the world we live in.

Each song deals with a different topic and Simone tried to create something different from an instrumental point of view, blending the following ingredients:
• his passion for 80s music and, in particular, his love for Iron Maiden of that golden period (their first 7 albums);
• the desire to experiment with progressive metal, but without exaggerating;
• the desire to make all instruments more defined and give each of them the right importance,
with a particular attention to his favorite instrument, the bass, which is the driving instrument in  the songs as well as his main live instrument;
• the desire to go against the tide, without caring too much about fashions.

It Will Last “Nightmares in Daylight” was totally composed (music and lyrics) by Simone Carnaghi, who also personally played and recorded all the instruments (bass, drums and guitars), designing the songs to be able to bring them faithfully on the stages, without backing-tracks and without losing anything of what was recorded.

It Will Last “Nightmares in Daylight” was also produced by Simone Carnaghi at his brand new “Rock & Music Studio”, based in Rescaldina (Mi).

The vocal lines composed by Simone Carnaghi have been assigned to Daniel Reda, his very trusted and dear friend since 1997, former singer of “Pandaemonium”, the epic Italian metal band with whom Simone played drums on their second cd-album “Return to reality “. Daniel also played in “Dying Moon”. Daniel is the official lead singer of Simone Carnaghi’s “It Will Last”. The rest of the story has to be written ..

QUINN SULLIVAN Releases Live Video for “In A World Without You”

As he gears up for his first live concerts since the release of his acclaimed new album ‘Wide Awake’ – including a performance at NYC’s Mercury Lounge and a September appearance with Larkin Poe – the singer, songwriter and guitarist QUINN SULLIVAN has just released a live take on his new single “In A World Without You,” filmed at Building Records this summer.’ “In A World Without You” was originally premiered by Flaunt Magazine, who reported that Sullivan had “fully arrived as a mature, and rather striking young artist, in the same category as singer-songwriters like John Mayer, but with a power on guitar that few others can match.”

Quinn Sullivan:
“I’m beyond excited and ready to get back out on the road this fall and, of course, all of 2022. I wanted people to get a glimpse of what they’ll be seeing live, so I decided to put out a live performance of “In a World Without You.” Nothing beats all being together in one room sharing one moment with one another. Let’s do this.”

Just 22-years-old, Sullivan has already toured the world, collaborated with rock’s biggest legends, and developed genuinely jaw-dropping skills as a guitar player. But now, Sullivan’s more recent work has been with pen and paper, as he lets the abundant skills of his youth blossom and steer him into new directions of artistry and creativity. “’In a World without You’ is one of my favorite songs off of the new album,” Sullivan told Flaunt. “We shot it at Building Records, a recording studio in Marlboro, New York. I had an absolute blast making it. I had the opportunity to bring in some friends of mine to do this with me, which I think really added to the concept. Playing drums is Lee Falco, playing keyboards is Will Bryant, and playing bass is Brandon Morrison.”

Recorded in Los Angeles with producer/collaborator Oliver Leiber, ‘Wide Awake’ adds potent new arrows to a quiver already brimming with sure-shots, and it showcases the kind of forward motion that separates the artists from the mere players. “I want people to understand who I am as an artist,” explains Quinn. “I think my audience will appreciate the fact that the guitar is still a huge part of who I am, and I can truthfully say all the songs are coming from a very honest place.”

A rare artist who’s always sounded older than his years, Sullivan has been touring the world since he was 11-years-old, playing storied venues such as Madison Square Garden, the Hollywood Bowl and RFK Stadium in Washington D.C., as well as India’s Mahindra Blues Festival, Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival, and three Montreux Jazz Festivals. Quinn has shared the stage with his hero and mentor Buddy Guy, as well as Carlos Santana on several occasions. Quinn’s performance experience includes appearances on leading national television programs Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and CBS This Morning, to name a few.

As he moves into this new chapter, Sullivan’s constant credo has been growth and learning. “I want to stay true to where I come from, and go from there,” says Sullivan. “The artists that inspire me to do that are always hungry for the new. They never repeat themselves. They just grow and become more unique — and that’s what I aim to do as an artist.”

SUN OF THE SUNS Release ‘TIIT’ Video Clip

Modern extreme metal merchants SUN OF THE SUNS have released an official video for the song ‘TIIT’ – title track and second single taken from their debut album ‘TIIT’, out on August 20 on Scarlet Records – directed by Filippo Cinotti/VMultimedia.

This is how the band commented: “‘TIIT’ has been named right after this song since it’s the most representative of our songwriting in its sum of fierce death metal riffing, core-ish moments and surprising twists in rhythm and pace, all combined to a morbid melody that suggests melancholy, cosmic solitude and a certain sense of confinement that must
be broken.

The usage of melody is fundamental because it rolls along with the sci-fi plot behind the concept of this record, in which a foolish one obsessed with the theory of ancient astronauts carries out genetic changes in humanity to create a new civilization closer to whom he considers ‘The Gods’.

In terms of lyrics this is the pivotal point inside this drama, where the main character speaks his declaration of intent to reach the final aim; the description of technical elements and his rage remain suspended until he shouts his crazy design that collides with the melody of the chorus in a blend of astral harshness.

The launching of ‘TIIT’’s video is also the best way to announce Filippo Scrima as the bassist of Sun Of The Suns. His entrance came quite naturally since he’s a longtime friend of ours and an experienced and talented musician – yet involved in our label-mates Nightland.”

CADAVER Release Music Video For “Feed The Pigs”

Back with a vengeance and hell-bent on destruction, Norwegian death metallers, CADAVER, are back in business and ready to reign. Edder & Bile, the first full length from this band’s new incarnation of Anders Odden’s original, extreme metal vision, was unleashed unto the world in November of 2020 via Nuclear Blast Records. Today, the band releases the music video for the single, “Feed The Pigs”, which was directed by Julio Mendoza. Watch the music video here:

Anders Odden comments, “The first song Dirk Verbeuren and I wrote as we resurrected CADACER back in 2016 was ‘Feed The Pigs’. At the time, I was looking for a singer and as the song pays tribute to the Florida scene (the 80s and early 90s) Kam Lee from DEATH and MASSACRE was on my shortlist to fill the role. When he got the demo he got super inspired and wrote all the rest of the lyrics and recorded a demo within 24 hours. We were blown away and kept this original idea when we recorded the album in 2019. As the pandemic destroyed all interactions with social distancing, we thought of making a video that reflects our time. All of us have done several COVID-19 collaborations where musicians jam across their bands and film themselves. This video is a tribute to the post-apocalyptic world we live in, enjoy.”

Edder & Bile was produced by the band as well as Adair Daufembach who also handled the engineering. The album was recorded and mixed at Northwood Sound Studios in Hollywood, CA. The album features vocal cameos from death metal icons Kam Lee (MASSACRE) and Jeff Becerra (POSSESSED) ensuring that this crushing rebirth has underground credentials to spare. The photo for the artwork was taken by Hannah Verbeuren and the layout was created by Justin Bartlett.
