‘80s Metal Heroes AUTOGRAPH Release Their Treasured Collection Of Demos On Deluxe 2LP Gatefold Vinyl

In 2011, Steve Plunkett, founder and lead vocalist for ‘80s metal guitar heroes AUTOGRAPH, shocked the world with the release of a monster collection of early demos recorded before the band’s 1984 debut album Sign In Please. Titled The Anthology and released only as a 2CD set, the collection included an early version of the band’s signature hit song, the unforgettable hair banging classic “Turn Up The Radio,” with one noticeable difference: in the song’s chorus when Plunkett implored listeners to “turn up the radio,” he apparently wasn’t content to just repeat the line and instead insisted we also “turn up the tape machine!” Later, when the band re-recorded the song for Sign In, the lyric was changed and the rest is history. But that’s not all there is – these fantastic recordings contain no less than six demos of songs that would appear on their 1984 landmark album, plus several tracks that were never released anywhere else!

Now, this treasured collection has come to vinyl in a super deluxe gatefold jacket with full liner notes from Plunkett explaining the origin and history of each track. Turn Up The Radio – The Anthology is available in your choice of RED or BLUE vinyl!

Horror metal prophets Theatres Des Vampires are back with their long-waited new album ‘In Nomine Sanguinis’, which will be released on November 19th by Scarlet Records.

Tracklist is as follows:

1.          Death in Venice
2.          Endless Darkness
3.          Christina
4.          The Bride of Corinth
5.          Lady Bathory
6.          My Cold Heart
7.          In Nomine Sanguinis
8.          Golden Cage
9.          The Void Inside
10.    Till the Last Drop of Blood

Theatres Des Vampires return to the scene of the crime with an extraordinary effort: stylish cinematic and horror orchestrations, smart dark electro sounds and lush catchy/poppy vocal lines will resonate in your head through all these meticulously crafted ten new songs.

Written and produced by Riccardo Studer (Time Collapse Recording Studio, Rome) and beautifully illustrated by Francesco Benvenuti (photo) and Francesca Colella (graphics), ‘In Nomine Sanguinis’ combines the sensual touch of the Italian band with renowned songwriting brilliance and elegance, shaping the ultimate gothic metal pinnacle.

Some of the intriguing lyrics conceived by leader and frontwoman Sonya Scarlet have roots in decadent romantic literature such as Goethe’s ‘The Bride of Corinth’ and Francis Marion Crawford’s ‘For the Blood Is the Life’; others represent a descent into the abyss of the human soul and the very esoteric nature of life.

Overall, ‘In Nomine Sanguinis’ is the quintessential modern vampiric manifesto.

HATE Release Epic Video for New Single ‘Resurgence’

On October 15th, HATE will release their new album, Rugia, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of the record, the epic video for the 2nd single “Resurgence” can now be viewed below.

The previously released title track can be heard at: metalblade.com/hate – where Rugia can also be pre-ordered in various formats.

No one combines death and black metal quite like Poland’s Hate. With unflinching viciousness and a sense of atmosphere unique to the band, on Rugia, their twelfth full-length, they push the boundaries of their craft even further. “It was clear to me that it should build upon and evolve from our previous record, ‘Auric Gates Of Veles’ (2019), both musically and lyrically. However, every Hate record stands as a separate journey, and never twice to the same place. You never know exactly where it will lead you,” states vocalist/guitarist ATF Sinner, who has led the band since 1991. Fresh blood in the band’s line-up also helped contribute to Rugia‘s unique sound. Pavulon (drums), who had played with the band since 2014, was forced to step down from the band due to serious health issues. The band tapped Nar-Sil (Neolith, Virgin Snatch, Embrional) to take his place. “Working with a new drummer this time around was a fascinating experience for me. Nar-Sil’s technique and presence are quite different from Pavulon’s, and that definitely comes across. I believe we managed to construct a refreshing new chapter to our discography, composing nine truly sinister onslaughts of pure rage.”

The band elected to once again track the album in the Hertz Recording Studio in Poland, and it was recorded, mixed and mastered by the Wiesłaski Brothers (Behemoth, Decapitated). Everything was laid down over about two to three weeks, with longtime collaborator Michał Staczkun providing the ambient elements of the band’s sound. The only struggle came about at the mixing stage, where the final character of the record emerges. “Here we encountered many problems, contradictory visions too. The producers had their own idea for the overall sound, which differed from what I had in mind, so we were trying to find a good compromise and it took us a few months.” Given how strongly the personality of the record shines through, it is safe to say that the compromise reached was definitely in its best interest, standing as perhaps the best sounding record in the band’s long career. Hate is also celebrating thirty years of activity with Rugia, Sinner affirming he is as driven as ever. “Well, the fire is still burning! I’m proud that I have built a band with such strong energy, that’s lasted for a long time in spite of numerous line-up changes and obstacles in our way. We are still here and we create with ever growing consciousness and dedication. The energy speaks through us. Honestly, I think of the band as something much bigger and more profound than the individual people involved in it over any given period of time. I believe we create a channel for energies that surpass us.”

Rugia track-listing
1. Rugia
2. The Wolf Queen
3. Exiles of Pantheon
4. Saturnus
5. Awakening the Gods Within
6. Resurgence
7. Velesian Guard
8. Sun of Extinction
9. Sacred Dnieper

ENUFF Z’NUFF‘s fondness for the legendary rock ‘n roll band The Beatles has been more than well documented over the years. The band, now led by co-founder Chip Z’Nuff, have finally decided to go all in on that fandom and have announced the release of  “Enuff Z’Nuff’s Hardrock Nite,” a covers album of some of their favorite Beatles songs as well as songs from Beatles’ members post-Beatles bands. The album will be released on November 12, 2021. Today, fans can get their first look at the album with the release of the single and video, ‘Cold Turkey’ (Plastic Ono Band cover).

Pre-order/save “Enuff Z’Nuff’s Hardrock Nite” on CD/Color Vinyl/Digital HERE.  (Please note, due to worldwide delays with the manufacturing of vinyl, the LP version will be released on December 10, 2021.)

On “Enuff Z’Nuff’s Hardrock Nite”, the band offers their reinterpretation of tracks from the world famous Liverpool musician’s repertoire with no samples, no synthesizers, no wizards behind the curtain, just four cats in the studio paying respect to their heroes. “Enuff Z’Nuff’s Hardrock Nite” is a colorful Cadillac Escalade driving 100 mph on the freeway without rules or regulation and just livin’ the dream.

When the band first emerged on the wider scene, Enuff Z’Nuff were acclaimed as rock’s ‘Next Big Thing’. They were power-pop princes in glam-metal clothing and aptly described as The Beatles and Cheap Trick combined and reinvented for late 80’s US hard rock musical landscape. Long-time fans of the band have yearned, begged, and wished for a Beatles covers album from the band and now, finally, Enuff Z’ Nuff pay tribute to their main inspiration and musical heroes with “Enuff Z’Nuff’s Hardrock Nite” in their own inimitable and rocking fashion. Enjoy the ride!

Enuff Z’nuff are the living, breathing example of what a rock ‘n roll group should be. Now centered around bass player and vocalist Chip Z’nuff, Enuff Z’nuff are still delivering the band’s patented power pop melded with hard rock stylings. Originally formed in 1984 in Chicago, IL, the band received their big break in 1989 when they signed to Atco/Atlantic Records. Founding members, Chip Z’Nuff and Donnie Vie were joined by guitarist Derek Frigo and drummer Vikki Foxx and they commenced work on their major label debut. The self-titled album was a monster hit and spawned two evergreen singles, “New Thing” and “Fly High Michelle”. Both received constant airplay on radio and heavy rotation on MTV, spending over 60 weeks in the Top 10. 1991 saw the band release their sophomore album, “Strength”. The album had more of a hard rock overtone and sustained the success achieved on the first album. The band made high profile television and radio appearances on the likes of David Letterman and Howard Stern and were featured in Rolling Stone’s Hot Issue as ‘The Next Big Thing’. The band soldiered on during the new musical climates of the ‘90s and have since gone on to release over a dozen more studio records.

Today, DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979, made up of Sebastien Grainger and Jesse F. Keeler, released a brand-new, Amazon Original cover of Journey’s iconic hit, “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Available only on Amazon Music, the song finds the Toronto duo taking on one of Journey’s most well-known and revered songs and putting a characteristically ferocious DFA spin on the track. Fans can hear the track now on Rock Scene, Amazon Music’s home for the most exciting new rock music from around the world.

“We made a kind of witchy version of the song that would make Steve Perry magically join Journey again,” said Sebastien Grainger of Death From Above 1979.

Listen to Death from Above 1979 – “Don’t Stop Believing” (Amazon Original) HERE.

Earlier this year, Death From Above 1979 released their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Is 4 Lovers. To record this album, the pair locked themselves away for several weeks in a single room basement in Los Angeles’s Highland Park to see what would happen and eventually emerged with the purest distillation yet of the power, precision and nuanced personality at the heart of DFA’s unique and influential vision. Written, recorded, produced and mastered by the duo, their fourth album was born, and DFA has never sounded more assuredly like itself than it does on Is 4 Lovers.

To support the album, Death from Above 1979 will embark on an expansive North American tour, with dates in March and April 2022. Full tour dates, including the band’s planned 2021 festival appearances, can be found HERE.

DFA roared out of Toronto with the uncompromising one-two punch of 2002’s fuzz-bomb EP Heads Up and 2004’s epochal debut album You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine, complete with a North American arena tour with Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age, before deciding mid-tour to part ways due to the strain of constantly touring.

Almost a decade later, the rekindled DFA fireworks lit stages around the world a blaze – amassing a posse of fans so passionate they incited a genuine, barricade-smashing riot at Austin’s Beauty Bar at the 2011 South by Southwest festival. Playing Lollapalooza, Coachella, Glastonbury, Reading / Leeds, Osheaga, Lowlands and more, DFA continued to take the world by storm. Their second album, The Physical World (2014) took a No. 3 spot on the Canadian Billboard album chart and peaked at No. 28 on the U.S. Hot 200, not to mention No. 3 and No. 7 spots on Billboard’s Top Alternative and Top Rock registries, respectively.  Arriving at No. 20 on the Canadian Billboard album chart, DFA’s scorching 2017 outing, Outrage! Is Now, prompted Pitchfork to remark that “Death From Above now sounds more vital than ever.”

Fans can hear Death from Above 1979’s cover of “Don’t Stop Believin’” on the Rock Scene playlist, or by simply asking, “Alexa play the Amazon Original song from Death from Above 19790” in the Amazon Music app for iOS and Android and on Alexa-enabled devices. In addition to the new track, Amazon Music listeners can access hundreds of Amazon Originals featuring both emerging and established artists across numerous genres, available to stream and purchase only on Amazon Music.

Norwegian Extreme metal act ILLT unchain their ferocious debut album titled “Urhat” today!  Listen to this raw, mind-blowing Extreme metal record here: https://orcd.co/urhat!

ILLT is the alter ego of Norwegian composer and guitarist Roy Westad. It’s an uncompromising sandbox and a culmination of decades of passion and love for extreme metal as an art form. His debut album features session musicians from Megadeth, Soilwork, Chrome Division and Nile. The album was mixed by Kurt Ballou @ Godcity and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Alan Douches.

“Urhat” is described as “the absolute novelty in the world of extreme metal” by MetalHead IT, while Everything Is Noise defines the album as ‘a ferocious, elegantly executed blackened death metal masterpiece that is among the finest in its genre.”

The mastermind behind “Urhat”, the talented Roy Westad, started out as a guitarist before establishing himself as a film composer back in 2008. Since then, he has been involved in countless film and TV projects and received the Norwegian Emmy for Best Original Score in 2014. But he always held extreme metal close to his heart. In some ways, things are now coming full circle. His background as a guitarist helped form his style as a film composer, and his film scoring career has helped in developing the form of ILLT.

Now he’s ready to unleash his debut «Urhat» (meaning something like «ancient hate» in Norwegian) on the world! With him on the album are some well-known names in metal; Dirk Verbeuren on drums (Megadeth), Speed Strid on vocals (Soilwork), as well as lead guitarists Karl Sanders (Nile) and Mr.Damage from Chrome Division. The album is an eclectic yet seamless blend of groovy and blackened death/thrash/ doom/rock. Brutal yet melodic, modern yet raw.

ILLT states: «I have a pretty schizophrenic musical taste, I’m quickly bored, and I hate rules and boundaries. This album was written by pure instinct on my own terms, and the result is a genre-defying and emotional ride through intense riff-based metal». The lyrical themes are centered around anger, hopelessness and contempt for the human race, and deal with the darkest sides of religion, politics and de-evolution.

The music of “Urhat” is pealing off the rotten layers of the world track by track!

Tracklist:
1. Millennial Judas
2. Sons Of The Northern Lights
3. Scythian King
4. Blood Of The Unbeliever
5. Every Tree A Gallow
6. The End Of All Things

Urhat – Credits:

Lead Guitars: Mr.Damage, Karl Sanders (Nile)
Music & Lyrics by ILLT
