NEW MODEL ARMY’s JUSTIN SULLIVAN Announces Solo UK Tour

Justin Sullivan stepped out from NEW MODEL ARMY to release his second solo album in May this year, eighteen years after the first. He has now announced a 14 date solo tour where he will be playing tracks from the album and from his extensive New Model Army back catalogue.

“Surrounded” is a collection of sixteen new songs, written in the first weeks of the 2020 lockdown. These songs are again guitar-vocal compositions highlighting Sullivan’s love of storytelling, wide open landscapes and powerful atmospheres.

Mostly recorded at home, the album also features contributions from many other musicians including Jon Thorne on bass (Lamb), Tom Moth on harp (Florence and the Machine – and brother of NMA bassist Ceri Monger), plus string arrangements from composer friends Tobias Unterberg, Henning Nügel and Shir-Ran Yinon. Also featured are all the current members of New Model Army. The album was mixed by Lee Smith at Greenmount Studios in Leeds, co-producer and mixer of New Model Army’s recent albums, including 2019’s “From Here”, their highest charting album to date globally.

Justin Sullivan says: “Under the circumstances, it wasn’t particularly surprising that this was the moment to make another solo record and the songs came thick and fast in the first few weeks of the lockdown. There is not so much about ‘what’s happening in the World’. As with “Navigating by the Stars”, which was written in the aftermath of 9/11, I wanted to write about other things – some well-known stories, some less well-known, some autobiographical and more a landscape of the imagination than social comment.”

Dublin alternative rock outfit KLUBBER LANG have released the video for their fabulous new single ‘Sleep Well’, out now on Fifa Records.

Stream/buy the single here: https://klubberlang.bandcamp.com/

Klubber Lang return with their new single ‘Sleep Well’, fast paced pounding rhythms, riff laden hard-edged melodies and McGoldrick’s unique vocal delivery combine to make ‘Sleep Well’ a frenzied attack on the senses, that is both thought provoking and addictive and leaves you wanting more. ‘Sleep Well’ is now available on all digital platforms..

‘Sleep Well’, the band’s first release since teaming up with Irish independent label ‘Forever in Financial Arrears’ (FIFA Records) is the perfect follow up to their two previous singles ‘There, there’ and ‘Not My Day’ and is ample justification as to why there is a real level of expectation about the Dublin heavy hitters. Somewhat of a nineties supergroup, Klubber Lang are made up of Revelino guitarist Ciaran Tallon, ex-(sic) bass player Ciaran McGoldrick on vocals and bass, ex-Mexican Pets drummer Fin O’Leary and producer Ronan McHugh on keyboards.

‘Sleep Well’ is now available on all digital platforms and is the first in a series of Klubber Lang singles with FIFA that will receive a physical release later in the year on limited edition cassette.

BEYOND THE BLACK Sign with Nuclear Blast

One of the brightest stars in the Symphonic Metal universe have found a new home: NUCLEAR BLASTRECORDS is incredibly proud to welcome BEYOND THE BLACK to the ranks of the worldwide NB family.

The band states:
“After an exciting and successful time with our former record label, we are ready to open a new chapter of BEYOND THE BLACK today. As a band we stand together as strong as never before and in NUCLEAR BLAST we have found a powerful label partner with a great team who are going to join forces with us to bring BEYOND THE BLACK to a new level. Also, deciding for the world’s biggest Metal label feels somewhat like coming home!”

With their astronomical rise after the release of their debut album “Songs Of Love And Death”, the band around singer Jennifer Haben went supersonic – most recently reaching a number of impressive chart positions with fourth LP “Horizons”.
Lauded by press and fans alike, the band gained immediate international interest as they quickly became the most successful Symphonic Metal band to come out of Germany. Throughout their career they already shared stages with acts like AEROSMITH, KORN, SCORPIONS and WITHIN TEMPTATION.

Marcus Hammer, Managing Director of NUCLEAR BLAST GMBH, states:
“We’re thrilled to welcome BEYOND THE BLACK as a new member of the NUCLEAR BLAST family. We’re talking about an exceptional artist with talent and passion that raises huge hopes into their meteoric rise only being the start of something bigger. We couldn’t be any happier to be an important partner for BEYOND THE BLACK from now on and support the band on their future path – we’re looking forward to a fantastic time and a promising future for both partners!”

Jens Prueter, Head of A&R Nuclear Blast Europe adds: “We are very proud to welcome BEYOND THE BLACK to NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS. It’s amazing what they achieved so far: top 5 entries in the German charts, TV appearances, sold out shows and regular guests at the biggest festivals. A success that also caused envy but not everyone is as talented as Jennifer Haben and her band, and not everyone has such a spirit of hard work. It’s a pleasure to follow their strong vision and it’s a great addition to the NUCLEAR BLAST artist roster where they will be in good company with NIGHTWISH, EPICA, AMARANTHE or BATTLE BEAST. Special thanks to their manager Benjamin Küfner for making this happen. Let’s explore new horizons!”

BEYOND THE BLACK will start 2022 with a breath taking co-headline tour throughout Europe alongside label mates AMARANTHE. Tickets are already on sale, the pairing will be stopping at:

TULIP Release New Single “Clone”

Texas based symphonic metallers, TULIP, have released their new single “CLONE” out now on all major platforms. The single is from their new 6 track storyscape EP The Witch due out on September 17th, 2021.

The EP, which is their heaviest yet, opens with the menacing “SIDEWINDER”, and throttles listeners into the pulsing anthems of “CLONE” and “PROXY”, finally ratcheting up to the massive title track “THE WITCH”. Their first two singles “SIDEWINDER” and “PROXY” racked up over 100,000 listens on Spotify in their first month alone and topped curated playlists including Spotify’s Epic & Melodic and Progressive Metal. With this latest release, TULIP is poised to impact the symphonic metal world, fronted by former opera singer Ashleigh Semkiw’s intense vocals, Colin Parrish’s powerful guitar and Ryan Claxton’s fury on the drums making them unlike any other in the genre.

TULIP is headlining TREES DALLAS on September 26th, 2021. Tickets at https://www.treesdallas.com/events/detail/409019

Forged in the fire of excommunication, Texan transplants ‘Tulip’ deliver their own brand of symphonic metal, spearheaded by ex-professional opera vocalist Ashleigh Semkiw, and Colin Parrish on guitar.

Their story is a unique one. Publicly shamed, ostracized and cast out of the church, Semkiw and Parrish formed TULIP – an acronymic nod to their former faith.

Emerging together for the first time in September 2018, the members of Tulip are established artists, having performed for a decade in their respective past acts; Ashleigh in professional opera, Brandon with ONI throughout Europe alongside the likes of Children of Bodom and Lamb Of God, Ryan sessioning across the USA and Canada, and co-lead member Colin as an accomplished recording and mix engineer.

TULIP, their self-titled debut EP was self written, recorded and mixed, and was mastered by the legendary Troy Glessner (Devin Townsend, New Found Glory, Disturbed). The five song collection delivers symphonic metal with a modern groove oriented twist.

Following their first US tour with Swedish metal outfit Evergrey, Tulip went even further with their next recorded effort. The LP High Strangeness boasts twelve tracks of bone crushing drums, searing guitars and masterful vocals underpinned with full orchestration and layered synths.

Recorded at their home in Argyle, Texas – the LP was born out of a fascination and curiosity both Semkiw and Parrish share for the unexplainable. Avid fans of Coast to Coast AM Radio and Whitley Strieber, they sought to create a musical pilgrimage into the unknown.

FEAR CONNECTION To Release Debut Full-Length “Progeny Of A Social Disease” on October 1st

The first full-length album by the Bremen death metal quartet from FEAR CONNECTION is just around the corner!

After Corona threw a spanner in the original release plans, “Progeny Of A Social Disease” will be released on 1 October via Black Sunset/MDD. The follow-up to 2018’s EP “Raging Terror” was produced at Soundlodge Studio under the direction of Jörg Uken.

The result is an incredibly brutal, dynamic and varied album that combines powerful death metal with thrash elements, various facets of crust/punk/d-beats, catchy melodies and hooklines. The album will be released as a CD jewel case as well as a vinyl edition in two different (black and neon-green-splatter) versions. Stay Tuned!
