ARTIFAS Release New Single “Cut Me Out”

Hard rock band ARTIFAS released their new single “CUT ME OUT” via Imagen Records! The single is from their forthcoming album titled Reflections due out November 19, 2021.

“Cut Me Out is about cutting toxic people out of your life. Sometimes the most toxic people around you are the ones that are not so easily removed. At some point you have to stand up and say enough is enough, cut me out. The artwork for this record is all about reflection. Whether it’s someone in a dark place reflecting the poor decisions made, or whether someone is reflecting the beauty of the world on front of them” says the band.

Listen to ‘Cut Me Out’ HERE.

American Hard Rock band Artifas was formed in 2011 in Jackson, TN by lead guitarist Cody Criswell and lead vocalist Scottie Somerville. In the months following, the two founders of the group would immediately recruit an assortment of hometown musicians and begin looking to record their debut EP. After having a long and ugly encounter that resulted in the theft of all the bands funds and receiving no album in return, the original incarnation of the group would spend 2012-2013 doing several independent tours and writing music. After debuting with their EP Enemy Inside in 2013 and doing numerous regional/national tours in support of it, the band replaced former members with guitarist Mikey Miller, bassist Anthony Mattox, and drummer Jared Wainscott.

With almost two years of touring with the new lineup under their belts, Artifas inked themselves a record deal and hit the studio to make their first full length album. The 2015 release of the title track, “Inhuman,” would bring the band some commercial success, reaching # 32 on Billboard’s Active Rock chart and sending the band on the road in support of their new album. The band landed tours with established artists like Theory of a Deadman, Shamans Harvest, Pop Evil, Saint Asonia, Aranda, and others. The follow up single from that record, “Blood 4 Blood”, would later get picked up by the World Series of Fighting and subsequently land a feature in the UFC movie “Fight Valley”. The band parted ways with their record label in 2016, and remained on tour throughout the US for most of the following year, also traveling internationally for the first time with the likes of Papa Roach, Hoobastank, P.O.D., Trapt, and Sick Puppies to play for our American Troops.

Multiple tour cycles later, Artifas found themselves back in the studio making new music. The band worked with multiple writers and producers throughout the entirety of 2018, but would ultimately only find themselves frustrated with the recordings that resulted. After a soul search within the group, Artifas elected to embrace their own vision and write/produce their next album independently, free from the creative overreach of outside influence.

After two years of writing, recording, and mixing, Artifas has completed the new album, and plans to unleash it upon the world. With catchy guitar riffs, dizzying drums, and soaring melodies, Reflections will send you on an emotional journey, exploring the band’s semi-prog, radio rock sound while diving deeper into the human complex with lyrics centered around self awareness and the bands own struggles with mental health. The goal for the creation of this album was to make a record that met the band’s expectations and you can rest assured they held nothing back. Mixed and Mastered by Forrester Savell (Twelve Foot Ninja, Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus), Reflections promises to wow you with musical prowess, all the while delivering Artifas’ important message on unity, inspiration, and the sempiternal battle between dark and light.

Staying true to the promise they made their fans, Artifas has been on hiatus since their last show in October 2019, working, learning, and preparing for the release of their new album and the beginning of a new chapter in the ArtiStory.

SHOTGUN FACELIFT Confront Their Critics in New “Bury Me” Music Video & Single

Melodic groove-metal band SHOTGUN FACELIFT have revealed a new music video for their defiant new single “Bury Me”. The music video was directed by Kevin Ackley from Chamber Six Media. Watch it right now at this location.

“Bury Me” is the first single from the band’s second full-length album Dakota Blood Stampede which was produced by Tyler Pilot (Over You, Body By Torture, Anomic) at Red Dot Recording. The album is scheduled for a worldwide release on December 17, 2021 via Eclipse Records. Pre-order or pre-save the album here.

“Bury Me was the perfect choice as our first single from this album. The idea of being chased down, made to dig our own grave, being bound and then buried alive was the ultimate metaphor for the opposition this band has faced in the entire existence of our musical career,” says lead vocalist John Huber. “The idea that our lifestyle and musical brand will lead us to personal ruination is difficult to get away from in such a conservative area of the country. So, rather than fight it, we embraced it!” Drummer Jody Smith adds, “Our guitarist Damian was the lucky member chosen for the task of burying John alive. It was real dirt, and it was really thrown in John’s face in a continuous shot as he screamed the lyrics out loud. He had it in his eyes, up his nose, and a bunch in his mouth, he’s a trooper man… I also got to punch him in the gut while he was being gagged and tied up, sorry brother!“

Dakota Blood Stampede by Shotgun Facelift is an exhilarating album. It was recorded with the band’s live energy in mind, and sought to capture it. As a result, this album is as real as it gets. The band tracked every song playing together, all at once. When someone messed up, everyone had to sit in on a do-over. It was exhausting for the band and their producer Tyler Pilot, but the proof comes through in the recording. The energy there is unmistakable, but more important is the deep and personal nature of the songs on the album… With the first single “Bury Me” the band fires back at the conservative culture in their home state of North Dakota. With so many in the local scene praying for the band’s demise and even wishing actual harm upon the band members for being in a heavy metal band, the song shows their resistance in being able to stand up against them, embrace their hatred, and use it to become stronger. “Suicide Eyes“, is about the eyes of addiction, abuse, and despair. The band takes mental illness very seriously, and they write about it a lot in a non-exploitative manner because every band member suffers from some form of it deeply. “5 Dollar Bastard” is another song which is deeply personal to the band, especially vocalist John Huber. Many years ago, he had a loved one hand him a check for what he thought John was worth, valuing him at just five dollars. He never forgot that moment, how it made him feel to realize what this person really thought of him, and he wrote the lyrics for this song as a statement of conviction to make that individual choke upon that five dollar debt. If there ever was an album where a band “lets it all hang out” while confronting their demons, Dakota Blood Stampede is it!

IMPERIAL AGE Raise $50,000 In Crowdfunding, Get Hit by Tornado

Having declined several record deals after playing one of the first succesful online shows in the genre last year, Russian symphonic metal powerhouse IMPERIAL AGE launched a crowdfunding campaign instead and has already broken through the $50,000 USD mark, with 6 more days to go.

“Many bigger bands get much smaller advances from their labels, and most of those are also recoupable – i.e. labels loan the money to artists and then return it from the artist’s share (usually around 13% of revenue). But our fans just give us the money so that we can do what we want to do: no conditions, no questions, no debt. Why isn’t everyone doing it already?” – says band mastermind Aor.

While the crowdfunding was going on, the band was camping out in the forest on the shores of lake Seliger (Tver region, North-Western Russia) and got hit by a tornado, reported by major news channels! The camp was totally destroyed, the nearest village had 18 out of 20 houses damaged with 3 dead and 13 injured in the region. More than 30 trees have been knowcked down on the island around the camp.

Band leaders Aor and Jane who were at the camp at the time saved themselves by running out of the forest and hiding behind an elm tree on the shore.

“The world is obviously changing – its like being on a ship going through turbulent waters (see our new cover art), only the ship is Planet Earth. The here are unusual cataclysms everywhere, the human society not being an exception. The New World is obviously already right on top of us, and our main goal is not to fall off this ship until the course has stabilized.” – wrote the band on their Facebook Page.

The Kickstarter is already over 120% of its initial goal and has 6 more days to go. You can support it here:

APOSTOLICA Release Video for ‘No More Place In Hell’

Power metal heretics APOSTOLICA have released an official videoclip for the song ‘No More Place in Hell‘ – first single taken from their debut album ‘Haeretica Ecclesia’, set to be released on September 17th by Scarlet Records.

Hyped yet mysterious project featuring some of the finest musicians of the international heavy metal scene, Apostolica have NOT commented on the video.

“It is an heretic that makes the fire, not she which burns in’t.” -William Shakespeare

Apostolica have founded a new cult based on an intriguing and enigmatic image, a bombastic and pristine sound, catchy riffs and plenty of unforgettable hooks & choirs.

With its fresh and invigorating songwriting, ‘Haeretica Ecclesia’ is the first chapter of the four masked prophets’ very own book of revelations: a prophecy in music where they – modern-day knights of the Apocalypse – declare war to the heavens and celebrate the human being despite weaknesses and defects.

The world needs faith and hope, now more than ever; the heavy metal scene need faith and hope too: Apostolica is the heretic, powerful and anthemic antidote to the age of spiritual slavery.

THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON Reveal First Ever Single + Official Music Video ‘Jenny Of Oldstones’

A new band is born! THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, consisting of members of Feuerschwanz, Amaranthe and Ad Infinitum, enters the scene with a bittersweet reinterpretation of Florence & The Machine’s Game Of Thrones soundtrack song, “Jenny Of Oldstones”! Multi-talented vocalist Melissa Bonny breathes new soul into the song, playfully switching between soft clean vocals and oppressive growls in her very own manner.

With “Jenny Of Oldstones”, THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON set the direction to transform musical themes from cinematography, TV shows and video games into powerful and epic modern metal tracks and add completely new elements through the characteristic guitar playing of Hans Platz, as well as the use of the harp. In doing so, THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON will not limit themselves to cover versions, but will also write original songs.

THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON on “Jenny Of Oldstones”:

“We are proud and happy to present “Jenny Of Oldstones” – you’ve never heard the song from Game Of Thrones like this! Heavy Metal is incredibly expressive, there are so many ways to form a song’s musical and dynamic look – we create the images and emotions in the listener’s mind just by the power of music. From this came the idea to metalize film music – we bring you Cinematic Metal!

We can hardly believe it – half a year ago this song was the result of a bet made by Melissa and Hans, but this song led us to something really big – because of this one song Napalm Records signed us, an international band was formed, and now we are hard at work producing a full album! We’ll show you the dark side of songs you thought you knew!”

Watch the official music video for “Jenny Of Oldstones” HERE:

It all started with a bet between Melissa Bonny and Hans Platz. Whoever lost owed the other a “dare”. Hans won and challenged Melissa to record a metal version of “Jenny Of Oldstones” with him. So the band began to turn their favorite cinematic themes into powerful metal songs!
