Goth rock icons The 69 Eyes are thrilled to unveil their new single “Brandon Lee (Forma Acustica)”, out now via BLKIIBLK.

Originally featured on “Blessed Be”, the song was first released in 2000 and became an international success for the band. Its title refers to the late American actor Brandon Lee, who played the lead role in the dark cult classic The Crow (1993).

The single was mixed by acclaimed American producer Matt Hyde, who also produced The 69 Eyes’ “Back In Blood”, recorded in Los Angeles in 2009. Known for his work with Slayer and Deftones, Hyde most recently mixed Megadeth’s self-titled album “Megadeth” (2026), which reached No. 1 in the United States.

The music video for the track was filmed at Suomenlinna, Helsinki, and directed by Elias Ryynänen. Paparazzi models Corinna Puleo and Lotte Vainio bring timeless catwalk glamour to the band’s gothic rock world, evoking the turn-of-the-millennium aesthetic.

The single is the first taste of an acoustic record, set for release early 2027. The 69 Eyes will also bring their melodic side on tour in February next year, with a nationwide concert hall tour across Finland.

“We’ve been touring nonstop around the world for the past three or four years. I checked the numbers this summer and realized that we had played 89 shows in 22 countries within a single year. Rock ’n’ roll is at its best live, but now it’s time to shift gears. An acoustic concert hall tour feels exactly right for this moment. As a preview of what’s to come, we created new arrangements of many familiar 69 Eyes songs and developed them into full acoustic versions. This is an invitation to come and hear us in a new, acoustic setting”, says Jyrki 69.

Once you’ve survived the 80’s rock scene, you become unstoppable – and The 69 Eyes are living proof. Formed in Helsinki in 1989 and still going strong with the same line-up some four decades later, the Helsinki Vampires have earned their legendary status.

In a world with fewer and fewer true believers in leather jackets, midnight sunglasses and low-slung guitars, The 69 Eyes keep the Johnny Thunders’ flame burning like an endless sleazy club night back in the days.

Their biggest hit, “Lost Boys”, from 2005, was made into an iconic music video by MTV’s Jackass star and skater Bam Margera and the song still remains on annual Halloween rock playlists.

One foot on glam, another one on goth, The 69 Eyes have released thirteen albums, reaching gold and platinum and a mainstream status in their native Finland. They have been touring without any notable breaks all over the world the last twenty years.

Vocals, a lead and a rhythm guitar, a bass and drums are the classic rock band line-up. The 69 Eyes have that magic on stage that is needed for these elements to carry on beyond the rock’n’roll dreams, theirs and their cult following.

Line Up:
Jyrki 69 – vocals
Bazie – guitar, backing vocals
Timo-Timo – guitar
Archzie – bass, backing vocals
Jussi 69 – drums

OPUS Drops New Solo Acoustic-Rock Single + Video ‘Slip Away’ from Upcoming Full-Length Album “Purging the Demons”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 28, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Opus. Leave a comment

OPUS, the powerhouse drummer known for his work with Dead By Wednesday, Zetro, Ellefson, Earth and Gang Green, releases his new solo acoustic-rock single “Slip Away” today across all major streaming platforms. The accompanying official music video, directed by Sal DelGreco, is also available today.

“Slip Away” offers the first taste of OPUS’ forthcoming full-length solo album, Purging the Demons, arriving November 6, 2026.

A deeply personal collection born from one of the most difficult periods of OPUS’ life, Purging the Demons explores loss, love, heartbreak, anger, stress, and the challenge of maintaining family connections through separation. Rather than hiding behind polished production or studio perfection, OPUS embraces the rawness of the performances and the emotions that inspired them.

“In a world obsessed with perfection, Purging the Demons is my reminder that truth lives in the cracks,” says OPUS.

The album represents a deliberate return to an old-school approach to recording. OPUS wrote, recorded, and performed 99% of the instruments on the record, with the songs captured without vocal tuning, quantizing, or drum replacements. The imperfections are part of the point leaving the human element intact and allowing the performances to speak for themselves.

Purging the Demons was written over the course of approximately a year and a half during a long, dark, and challenging period in OPUS’ personal life. The resulting songs transform those experiences into an honest and unfiltered musical statement.

All songs on Purging the Demons were mixed by Max Scialdone, who worked with OPUS throughout the project to preserve the raw character and emotion of the recordings while bringing the album to its final form.

At a time when music is increasingly shaped by digital processing, algorithms, filters, and artificial perfection, Purging the Demons takes the opposite approach. It is a record about being human, messy, emotional, imperfect, and real.

With “Slip Away,” OPUS opens the door to a solo album that isn’t about hiding the cracks. It’s about embracing them.

To celebrate this special day, GARGANT releases “Burning Crusader”, the bonus track of the CD and Vinyls version from “Dead Night Defiance”.

Fast-paced and steeped in Heavy Metal, “Burning Crusader” borders on thrash and introduces a new character within the universe created by GARGANT: a warrior consumed by his own crusade, moving relentlessly through ruins and towards the gates of hell.

The song takes a more immediate and aggressive approach while retaining GARGANT’s identity, exploring an even more traditional and visceral side of Metal. Heavy riffs, speed and raw energy drive the warrior’s journey as he is taken deep into the darkest parts of his own soul in search of vengeance.

The music video for “Burning Crusader” combines live footage of GARGANT with specially produced scenes, bringing the energy of the band’s live performances into its visual universe. Raw and intense, the video was built around the atmosphere of the song and the connection with those who have already experienced GARGANT on stage.

“Burning Crusader” offers another glimpse into the world of the album. More than an extra song, it expands the dark universe GARGANT has been building.

ROBIN TROWER Reveals Brooding Slow Burning Blues Single ‘Faith’ with Lyric Video

The iconic blues master Robin Trower releases his new album, Shine, today via Provogue / Artone Label Group. To go along with the release, he has dropped the lyric video for Faith.

The redemptive mood of Faith reflects a lyric about a lost soul pulled out of a hole by an act of love. The slow brooding blues number sees bassist/singer Richard Watts emotive voice weave the story of faith and love finding its rightful place.

Talking about the song, Trower says, “Faith is a very positive thing, quite unusual for me. I’m writing it from the point of view of someone who was lost, down, in a bit of a hole, speaking about someone who came along and pulled that person out of that hole.”

Ask Robin Trower to explain his late-period creative burst and the legendary British guitarist can only shrug: “I think you’ve either got to keep pushing – or give up.”

Now 81, with a mythology that spans from the clubs of Swinging London, to Procol Harum,  through 1974’s gold-selling Bridge Of Sighs and onward into a vital post-millennial solo catalogue, the veteran bluesman’s place amongst the all-time greats is beyond doubt.

Yet while his ’60s peers have long softened into greatest-hits autopilot, this restless artist still starts each morning the same way: stood in his workroom with a battle-scarred signature Strat, hunting down the magic note that will spark his next song. “Then I’ll wake up in the middle of the night,” he smiles, “with a line for the lyric.”

Shine is worthy of the name: an album that shimmers with possibility and crackles with vintage Trower power. “It’s great to get that energy back off an audience,” he considers, “but I just love recording too. It’s always fun, you know? Playing guitar: that’s what I do, and that’s what I love.”

Self-producing while handling guitar and bass, the veteran was confident enough to delegate key duties to his trusty studio band, with drummer Chris Taggart driving the new material and long-standing vocalist Richard Watts articulating each emotion. “The strength of his vocals, the beauty of his vocal tone – he’s so musical,” considers Trower. “I usually write with Richard in mind. I can hear it all in my head.”

The first single Live Your Time’s soul-funk riffing heats the valves in Trower’s Marshall stack. “The opening riff of Live Your Time is one of the best things I’ve ever come up with,” he says. “ It’s always very loud in the studio, and that’s how you get the tone, by cranking the amp. That’s another song where I’m saying, ‘Calm down, it’s all going to work out. Just get the most out of your life.’”

Keep pushing or give up? It should be obvious which path Robin Trower has taken – and Shine is the latest thrilling evidence of a songwriter who chooses to forge ahead rather than rest on his laurels. “Really, if I have a gift,” he concludes, “it’s probably that I come up with ideas. Ideas for songs, ideas for lead work. Certainly, that’s what keeps me going. It’s just so exciting to see something blossoming into a new song.

Trower is currently on tour in the USA. which will run through to 14 October. You can see a full list of tour dates HERE.

Exciter Records Announce Two 50th Anniversary Editions of JUDAS PRIEST’s “Sad Wings Of Destiny” — Original 1976 Masters & Remixed/Remastered

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 28, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Judas Priest. Leave a comment

Released in 1976, Sad Wings of Destiny was the moment Judas Priest found its true identity. Where Rocka Rolla offered promise, Sad Wings delivered purpose.

Fronted by Rob Halford (voc), Glenn Tipton (gtr), KK Downing (gtr), Ian Hill (bass) and Alan Moore (drums), Sad Wings of Destiny was a bold, dark, and ambitious statement that would help define heavy metal and featured future metal classics such as ‘Victim of Changes’ and ‘The Ripper’—songs that Judas Priest performed live during their 2026 FAITHKEEPERS Summer Tour.

Now in the 50th anniversary year of its original release, Judas Priest’s Sad Wings of Destiny is being celebrated with two distinct editions of the album: Original 1976 Masters and the newly announced Remixed & Remastered. These two new versions restore the band’s intended track listing, beginning with the atmospheric “Prelude” and presenting the songs in the sequence Judas Priest originally envisioned for the album.

Original 1976 Masters presents an archival edition of the recordings, sourced from the original analogue master tapes, preserved in storage for decades, and remastered for the anniversary. The physical release will be available on hand-poured Solar Flare vinyl, with a unique color pattern on every record. The CD is presented in a classic jewel case with liner notes by Bryan Reesman, previously unseen archival photographs, and adds the original 1976 version of ‘Diamonds and Rust,’ which was recorded during the Sad Wings sessions but left off the album. The UK and European release also offers a ‘Galaxy’ colour vinyl option.

The ‘Original 1976 Masters’ is available for streaming worldwide on October 2, 2026—with CD and vinyl available starting October 9th, with early access through the Exciter Records webstore on October 2.

Remixed & Remastered features a newly created mix from the original multitrack recordings, produced by Tom Allom, mixed by Luie Stylianou and mastered by Matt Colton—the same team behind the Remixed & Remastered Edition of Rocka Rolla. The release will be available as a 45 RPM, 180g Double LP on black vinyl, mastered at half-speed for a true audiophile experience. The CD is presented in a modern digipak design. Both physical editions contain a newly remixed version of the 1976 recording of ‘Diamonds and Rust’ as a bonus track.

The ‘Remixed & Remastered’ is available for streaming worldwide on October 2, 2026—with CD and vinyl available starting November 27, with early access through the Exciter Records webstore on November 6.

PAUL LAINE Release New Album “The Long Road Back” with Official Video for ‘Someday’

The renowned Canadian singer Paul Laine has released his new studio album, “The Long Road Back”, out now via Frontiers Music Srl. The focus track “Someday”, along with an official video, is also available now.

Laine commented: “With the music video for “Someday”, the producer and I wanted to create something that celebrates the many beautiful forms of love that connect us as human beings. From the unconditional love we share with family and friends, to the bond we have with our animals, and the simple acts of kindness, compassion, and connection we show one another every day, the video is a reminder that love is all around us. In a world that can sometimes feel divided, “Someday” is my small contribution to the idea that love, in all its forms, is what ultimately brings us together.”

A masterclass in melodic rock, Paul Laine’s new album delivers soaring hooks, heartfelt ballads, and arena-ready anthems that traverse the full spectrum of the genre. From the driving energy of “Love Me Or Leave Me”, to the intimate vulnerability of “Someday” (co-written with Andrew Oye), every track is meticulously crafted, showcasing Laine’s signature vocal power and melodic sensibility. “Don’t Let Me Go Tonite” comes alive with a striking video that complements its infectious energy.

Laine stated: “Ever since I released my first solo album, I’ve wondered when I’d finally have the chance to make a follow-up. Life – and music – have a way of taking you places you never expect. Looking back, every chapter of my career has led me down a different road, and each one has shaped me as both a songwriter and a person”.

“I’ve been incredibly fortunate to make records with Danger Danger, Darkhorse, The Defiants, Shugaazer, and Jetset Junkies. Every one of those experiences taught me something and gave me memories I’ll always carry with me. But somewhere in the back of my mind, I always knew the road would eventually lead me home – to where it all started. Just a kid with a guitar, trying to make sense of love, life, loss, hope, and everything in between through songs”, he added.

“The Long Road Back” is exactly that. It’s a musical journey back to my roots, but it’s also a reflection of every mile I’ve travelled to get here. Every song carries a piece of the life I’ve lived, the people I’ve met, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. In many ways, this record feels like coming full circle. After all these years, I’m grateful to finally share this chapter with everyone who’s been waiting for it. I hope these songs find a place in your story, just as they’ve become part of mine”, Laine concluded.

Joining Laine in the studio are longtime collaborators Bruno Ravel (his bandmate in The Defiants and also in Danger Danger – bass, producer), Scotty “Hooch” Taylor (drums), Andrew Oye (lead guitar), with production handled by Laine and Ravel. The album features standout singles like “Love Me Or Leave Me”, the video-driven “Don’t Let Me Go Tonite”, and the heartfelt “Someday”.

Musically, the record touches every corner of melodic rock, yet the songs sound like they’re coming from the classic era when Bon Jovi dominated the airwaves – both in Laine’s soaring vocals and in the anthemic, hook-laden songwriting. This is an album for fans who crave big choruses, passionate performances, and the kind of timeless melodic rock that only Paul Laine can deliver.

“The Long Road Back” Tracklist:

1.    Love Me Or Leave Me
2.    Don’t Let Me Go Tonite
3.    Someday
4.    Come Back To Me
5.    Save Me Saturday Night
6.    Her Name Is Trouble
7.    Heaven And Earth Collide
8.    Bad Habit
9.    Kiss Me California
10.    The Ones That Got Away
11.    Now That You Don’t Love Me Anymore
