Hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, ANGRA emerged in 1991 under the guidance of guitarist Rafael Bittencourt and vocalist André Matos, rapidly securing a singular position within the heavy metal landscape.

The group defied standard genre norms by fusing the intricate structures of European power metal with the vibrant pulse of Brazilian percussion, alongside rich orchestral and classical textures.

Although their initial offering, ‘Angels Cry’, already showcased this highly innovative approach, it was the 1996 release of ‘Holy Land’ that served as their true artistic breakthrough.

Frequently cited as the band’s defining masterpiece, ‘Holy Land’ remains a towering achievement in the power metal sphere.

Thematically, the record delves into the colonial history of Brazil during the 1500s, weaving together aggressive guitar riffs with native and Afro-Brazilian grooves, grand choral sections, and symphonic elements.

Crafted with the assistance of legendary producers Sascha Paeth and Charlie Bauerfeind, the project garnered global acclaim and continues to stand as a landmark achievement for enthusiasts of progressive, symphonic, and power metal.

Now, exactly thirty years after its original release, ‘Holy Land’ will be re-released, including on vinyl for the very first time as well as on CD. This vinyl release FINALLY fulfills a long-standing request from fans worldwide!

The album has been remastered especially for this re-release and features upgraded packaging:

For the CD version, remastered audio, 6-panel digipak design with extensive booklet featuring previously unreleased photographs, and a 30 x 60 cm poster insert.

For the double vinyl album you get remastered audio, deluxe gatefold-design, printed colour innersleeves and a bonus foldout poster.

The 2-LP will be available for worldwide distribution (minus Japan & Brazil) on standard black vinyl and limited edition white vinyl (300 copies only), as well in assorted other colour variants available exclusively from some of our media partners throughout Europe.

REPENTANCE Release Tribute Video to Shaun Glass ‘Fade Into Silence’

Chicago -based metal act REPENTANCE has released a deeply personal tribute to the band’s founding member Shaun Glass with a brand-new video for “Fade Into Silence”. The track, which is featured on the band’s upcoming third studio album “Retaliate”, is out now and you can watch it below.

Shaun Glass, the founding member and driving force behind REPENTANCE, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2026. Following his tragic death, the band decided to postpone the release of “Retaliate” from its originally scheduled summer release to November 27, out of respect for their brother, friend, and bandmate. 

Vocalist Adam Gilley comments: “We decided that ‘Fade Into Silence’ would be the next single from the record because we wanted to dedicate this release to Shaun Glass. Of all the songs on the record, ‘Fade Into Silence’ just felt like the perfect song to honor him – especially because it was a song that Shaun himself wrote.

His unexpected passing has left a major hole in our hearts and in this band. Shaun wasn’t just a bandmate or a friend; he was our brother. He was the one who created this band and helped give it its identity, and he was deeply loved by everyone of us. It’s difficult to put into words what his loss means to us, and things will never quite be the same without him.

This song now carries a meaning we never expected it to have. Every note is a reminder of Shaun, his creativity, his passion, and everything he gave to this band. We’re proud to dedicate ‘Fade Into Silence’ to our brother and friend, Shaun Glass. His music, his influence, and his memory will always be a part of us. Rest easy, Shaun. This one is for you.“

Shaun Glass spent more than four decades shaping the Chicago metal scene and was a driving force behind influential bands including Terminal Death, Sindrome, Broken Hope, SOiL, Dirge Within, The Bloodline, and, most recently, REPENTANCE. Throughout his career, he shared stages with some of the biggest names in metal and left behind a lasting musical legacy that continues to resonate with fans around the world.

Formed in 2018, REPENTANCE have built their sound around crushing groove metal, technical precision and uncompromising intensity. Following their debut album God For A Day (2020), the band signed with Noble Demon and released the EP Volume I – Reborn (2021), introducing vocalist Adam Gilley to the fold. Their sophomore album The Process of Human Demise (2023) further established their modern take on groove metal and thrash.

Now, “Retaliate” will arrive on November 27, 2026, via Noble Demon. Produced by Alex Lackner at Accelerated Sound and mixed by Ari Mihalopoulos at Inner Light Studio, the album marks another chapter in the band’s story – one that will now forever be connected to the legacy of its founder.

“Fade Into Silence” is more than just a new single. It is a final musical tribute to Shaun Glass, carrying his creativity and spirit forward through the band he created.

Italian instrumental post-metal outfit THREESTEPSTOTHEOCEAN have released “Black Syrup” the hypnotic second single from their upcoming studio album Death of Permanence (out October 16 via Subsound Records). Merging dark-folk and ritualistic influences with Middle Eastern electronica and trip-hop beats, the track offers a dense, cross-pollinated soundscape. The single is further elevated by a vocal collaboration with Sardinian performer Dalila Kayros, whose melodies shift fluidly from sinuous and hypnotic to fiercely aggressive.

THREESTEPSTOTHEOCEAN about the track and the collaboration: “Collaborating with Dalila Kayros was essential to giving this track its voice. Her vocal lines manage to be sinuous and hypnotic, yet terrifyingly aggressive, perfectly matching the dark, ritualistic mood of the song.“

“Death of Permanence” marks the return of THREESTEPSTOTHEOCEAN, six years on from their last studio record. The new album stretches and deepens the band’s sonic reach, drawing on influences that extend well beyond the purely musical – while holding firm to a sound identity shaped across two decades of activity. At the same time, it enacts a deliberate, gradual shedding of what came before: not nostalgia, not repetition, but an unrelenting forward motion.

The record is rooted in the idea that much of what we consider stable or permanent is bound to shift, dissolve, or disappear – places, beliefs, relationships, the worlds we build around ourselves. The album observes this process with open eyes, accepting change as an inevitable part of human experience. It is, unmistakably, a rite of passage – toward a direction still unwritten, only partially legible, yet one whose emotional and existential toll runs deep beneath the surface.

Throughout this process of transformation, the band steps away from pure instrumentalism on multiple occasions, reaching outward through collaboration – a lived expression of a DIY ethic grounded in exchange and human connection. The record features the voice of sardinian performer Dalila Kayros, songwriter Conny Ochs, a vocal sample from Larry Stromberg, and the instrumental orchestrations of Moonlit.

“Death of Permanence” was recorded and mixed by Stefano Santi at SPVN Studio in February and March 2026, with additional recording by Francesco Tosi. Mastering was handled by Giovanni Versari at La Maestà Mastering. The cover features Alexander Krack’s photograph “The Treatment”, with artwork and design by Riccardo Giacomin.
