Post-punk alt rockers JOY/DISASTER have revealed the track-by-track of their new album ‘From Stars To Angels‘, including 14 intimate tracks which trace the evolution of emotions during a period of isolation. ‘From Stars To Angels’ is available on all major platforms on September 10th.

Nicolas Rohr (Author of the lyrics + Lead Vox & Guitar) tells about the tracks:

MEMORIES – Is talking about someone who is enclosed with demons from the past and try to find an escape with love close to him/her.
BLIND – When we feel really good with the person we love but we always remember that each day must be lived like the first.
BREATHE – Sometimes we can see the others with another eye, in this way everything looks confuse and people looks like ghosts.
CERTAINTIES – An open heart to love with all the doubts that this implies.
SOMEWHERE – After a long period of decline you have this time that you feel better and look at the rest of the world like a new person.
CLOSE – An ode to love
TRUST – The fact to live enclose during few weeks and that you finally accept and take pleasure to stand alone.
NATURE – Humans always talk about to make something to save the nature but everything is still continue to decline.
SHINE – A look about the nature, when the time stops and you feel really close to earth.
HOPE – When you are in the hole and that you don’t find a way to climb and survive.
ALLOY – Self introspection with hindsight of few weeks home and all these abject people and informations we watched during the confinement of 2020.
MOMENT – Another vision of this time stopped by force and this wish to wake you up in a changing world.
FACE OFF – An ode to the strength of all women in the world.
BROKEN – Thoughts to one of my friends who died of cancer in January 2020.

JOY/DISASTER commented on the recording sessions:
“Composed during the confinement period between March and May 2020, FROM STARS TO ANGELS is an album bringing together very intimate tracks and which traces the evolution of emotions during a period of isolation. Each of us has taken a different look at the world, the media, nature and it is these developments that have given aggressive and melancholic nuances transcribed on these songs.
Given the difficulties in being able to move around, only the drums were recorded in DIY studio conditions but for the rest of the recordings, everyone recorded at home and then sent the tracks for mixing and mastering.”

About the musical style, the band adds:
“We do not respect musical codes, each album is different even if we find common sounds and harmonies, and we’re always trying to find new creative methods to express ourselves through the music.
Every new thing brings joys and disappointments, but that’s why we keep our rock’n roll spirit!”

GUS G. Releases Music Video for ‘Enigma Of Life’

GUS G. made a name for himself with Firewind, the band he initially launched as a solo project in 1998 that made its official debut in 2002. In that time the band has released nine albums, while Gus has also recorded and toured with Mystic Prophecy, Nightrage, Arch Enemy, Dream Evil and Ozzy Osbourne. He has also made inroads as a solo artist, having released three albums under his own name: I Am The Fire (2014), Brand New Revolution (2015), and Fearless (2018). He closes 2021 with a new instrumental solo effort, Quantum Leap, featuring 10 tracks that both showcase the playing style Gus is known for and takes fans into new territory.

Quantum Leap came together over the course of the worldwide pandemic that, unfortunately, prevented Firewind’s self-titled album from 2020 from gaining any real momentum. Immobilized by the quarantine measures that kept him at home, Gus began compiling musical ideas to keep himself occupied, which led to the full-on effort to write and record an album during the summer of 2021.

“I didn’t make Quantum Leap with the intention of it being the next one in the cycle of solo albums,” Gus admits. “It was more of a case of, ‘What else is there?’ I needed the creative outlet.”

A creative outlet was found – and a new track was created: „Enigma Of Life“. The instrumental impressively shows off Gus G.’s talent and the diversity of guitar instrumentals:

Brazil’s RAGE IN MY EYES have been busy getting another record ready for fans. “Spiral” can be expected later this year and in the meantime, the band is unleashing the first single “And Then Came The Storm”. The band sets itself apart from other metal acts by incorporating elements of Milonga (folk music from southern South America) to their music.

When asked how they expect the forthcoming EP to be received by fans, the band responds:

“There is plenty of material for all the different types of metal lovers. The EP overall sounds absurdly tight. It has great guitar riffs, fast drum parts, intricate instrumental parts, powerful yet melodic vocals. Sometimes it leans towards prog metal, sometimes to power metal, sometimes to folk metal, sometimes to traditional metal, sometimes to thrash metal, with a pinch of old school metal, like Sabbath and Dio. And it still sounds like a whole, due to how well blended it all is.”

Innovative and technical, the single  “And Then Came The Storm” is the definitive power metal track off the EP. It showcases powerful riffs combined with beautiful vocal melodies, plus a halftime exciting bridge followed by an intricate instrumental section. Lyrically, this one is a story of love and farewell and borders on power ballad territory.

This is an excellent glimpse into the band that Rage In My Eyes is pivoting towards as they separate from their previous reputation under the name “Scelerata”. Formerly, they were Paul Di’Anno’s backup band for Brazilian tours and had a 16-year history as such. They released three full-lengths under that name and since the change in 2018, have released one album “Ice Cell” in 2019.

Recommended for fans of Blind Guardian, Helloween and Symphony X, Rage In My Eyes brings a new twist to classic heavy metal.

The music video for the first single “And Then Came The Storm” can be viewed below.

The full EP “Spiral” comes out on October 15, 2021.

Swedish dark sleaze metallers TOXICROSE recently released their latest singles ‘Domination’ and ‘Outta Time’, hitting prominent Spotify and Apple Music Hard Rock playlists. They are set to release their sophomore album ‘In For The Kill’ via Crusader Records (digitally and CD) on September 24th. A vinyl will be released in November.

ToxicRose are indeed back with a vengeance! The long awaited sophomore album from Swedish metal-band Toxicrose is almost here. The Stockholm-based quartet is known for their huge, heavy mix of metal and sleaze, and this album is no exception. With 10 fist pumping tracks filled with big choruses, In For The Kill is an album that fires from all cylinders from start to finish.

Pre-Save/Pre-Order In For The Kill on the GRR StoreHERE

IN FOR THE KILL Track by Track

1. Blood on Blood

The first single from the new, highly anticipated ToxicRose album, ‘Blood on Blood’ is a classic heavy metal anthem, with the energy and power that has come to define the sound of ToxicRose.

2. Heroes

‘Heroes’ is a fast and powerful track with a splash of modern metal. Like a steamroller crashing through everything, it takes you for a ride through one of man’s greatest mistakes.

3. In For The Kill

This title track is a classic arena-anthem. Like a machine, it plows ahead with a heavy groove and the message of “Don’t give a fu*k!”

4. Remedy

Heavy, dark and a chorus that brings you back to the classic arena bands of the 80’s, ‘Remedy’ is bound to never leave your head.

5. Angel

This dark and epic track clocks in at over 7 minutes. With big powerful choruses and grinding guitar solos, ‘Angel’ is reminiscent of classic acts such as WASP and Mercyful Fate.

6. Outta Time

‘Outta Time’ was the fourth single from this Swedish-metal band. It’s a heavy track, filled with melodic hooks that thematically dive into the darkness inside a person’s mind.

 7. Domination

A fast and aggressive, trash metal flavored fist in your face! ‘Domination’ never hits the brakes as it blows your speakers with old school thrash and heavy metal.

8. Open Up N’ Bleed

‘Open Up N’ Bleed’ is a heavy song with a modern touch, and a chorus that can lift the roof off of any arena. Lyrically, this track dwells on a man’s passion for the dead.

9. New Breed

‘New Breed’ is a track that has all the signature sounds that made ToxicRose one of the leading bands of Swedish sleaze metal.

10. The Great Escape

‘The Great Escape’ is the big finale. A track that starts out slow and builds up to an exploding climax, closing the album in the most bombastic way.
