JOHN CORABI Releases New Single + Video ‘Cosi Bella (So Beautiful)’

JOHN CORABI, the Nashville, TN -based iconic front-man, has released his new single “Cosi Bella (So Beautiful)” today. The song is available now on all digital platforms: https://ffm.to/cosibella.

“Cosi Bella (So Beautiful)” was produced and co-written in Nashville, TN, with Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne). “Cosi Bella (So Beautiful)” is the first of several new singles coming!

“Cosi Bella’ came about from a writing session I did with Marti for The Dead Daisies ‘Burn It Down’ record,” states Corabi. “I had the initial verse idea, and a chorus that didn’t quite work for the tune. I played it for Marti, and he liked the idea but gave me a better idea for the chorus. We recorded the rough idea on my phone, with both of us just scatting the melody. The Daisies heard the idea but felt it didn’t quite fit their format, so I put it to bed for a bit. After leaving the band in 2019, I started to revisit old ideas I had and sat down and recorded the track. Being new to ProTools, I took the song as far as I could and sent it to Marti to produce. I explained the song was musically inspired to a degree by ‘Penny Lane’ by The Beatles and ‘Killer Queen’ by Queen, so Marti and his son Evan recut the drums and bass, and added some horns, and sprinkled their magical fairy dust on the track to give it that shiny polished sound! I wrote the lyrics, and after singing the song, I felt ‘SO BEAUTIFUL’ was kind of an average title, so I looked those words up in a translation app and found it in Italian (Cosi Bella) and felt it had a nice ring to it! It’s not what some people truly expect from me, but I LOVE the way the song turned out, and it’s just a happy little upbeat love song with a twist! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.”

John Corabi is a true Journeyman in the hard rock world, including stints as lead vocalist for The Scream, Mötley Crüe, The Eric Singer Project (ESP), Union, The Dead Daisies, and as guitarist for Ratt. 

Viking/Pagan Act THYRFING Release ‘Vanagandr’, First Album in Eight Years

On August 27th, Viking/Pagan metal act THYRFING released ‘Vanagandr’ album – their first in eight years!

Despite there being no new studio recordings since 2013’s acclaimed ‘De ödeslösa’, Sweden’s THYRFING have remained active on the tour circuit with appearances at the likes of Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze and Sweden Rock Festival, amongst many other shows. The lure of creating new music always remained however, and starting back in 2015, plans were made for what would become ‘Vanagandr’, the band’s eighth release.

Leaning heavily on the band’s ever-present connection with Norse Mythology, ‘Vanagandr’ (an alternate name for the wolf creature known by the more familiar Fenrir) is a celebration of the tales and stories of Scandinavia – the track ‘Undergångens länkar’ is a conceptual piece focusing on Vanagandr/Fenrir and a track that carries the spirit and hallmarks that make Thyrfing so unique. 

‘Döp dem i eld’ is both the opening song on the album and the first video, one of two produced for the band by Patric Ullaeus (Dimmu Borgir, Europe, Arch Enemy). A powerful, heavy, and aggressive track packed with groove and melody. Elsewhere ‘Träldomsord’ is regarded as possibly the band’s most intense song to date, whereas ‘Jordafärd’ closes the album in epic fashion – a mournful and moody longing for the end to come. The perfect way to end the album!

Co-recorded and co-produced by Jakob Herrmann (In Flames, Machine Head, Evergrey) in Top Floor Studios, Gothenburg,  with the renowned Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, U.D.O., Katatonia) looking after the mix and mastering, all of which ensures at ‘Vanagandr’ sounds massive! The art concept was executed perfectly by  Niklas Sundin of Cabin Fever Media (ex-Dark Tranquillity)  who reconnects with the band once again (he also did the ”Vansinnesvisor” album back in 2002.)

‘Vanagandr’ is the first release via the band’s new record label, Despotz Records. Who recently also signed over the rights to the band’s first four albums Thyrfing (1998), Valdr Galga (1999), Urkraft (2000), Vansinnesvisor (2002) and have announced exclusive physical re-issues are in the making.

Thyrfing emerged from the ever-growing underground scene in Sweden back in 1995. After seven full-length albums and numerous live performances all over the world, the band have gained a strong following over the years and an exquisite standing within the metal scene. They are considered one of the top bands within the so-called Viking/pagan metal genre – but on the other hand, Thyrfing are so much more with their truly outstanding and self-contained musical offering.

The name of the band is taken from the sword “Tyrfing” in Norse mythology – a cursed blade that appears in several tales and myths. Ever since the start, the mythology has played a huge part in the scenery and imagery of the band’s music and lyrics,  something which is still intact in 2021.

Portugal’s melodic death metallers CRIMSON BRIDGE have released a new single from their upcoming debut In Pitch Black.

We built the track over sampled synthesizers with intrusive rock guitars and anthemic vocals to create what we think is very uniquely “Betcha”. The song and music video drops the day before our first headlining tour in over a year and a half. BAILER Announce Debut Album & Release Video for New Single ‘Cruel Master’

Irish quartet BAILER have announced their long-awaited debut album Disposable Youth, due for release on 12th November 2021 via Blood Blast Distribution. To celebrate, the metallic hardcore outfit have shared a video for their new single ‘Cruel Master’, featuring Conjurer‘s Brady Deeprose. 

Vocalist Alex O’Leary comments on the new single: 

“‘Cruel Master’ is about the give and take that comes with addiction. While things like alcohol offer a safe space, an escape from anxiety, something to take the edge off, dependency to these things lead to enslavement. You give yourself to these things and they eventually take everything from you.”

Recorded, mixed, mastered and produced by Lewis Johns at The Ranch Production House in Southampton, Disposable Youth dives into a grim view of the world from a place of manic depression and nihilism. 100% of the material was written in a room together: no writing on computers or demos being shared around virtually. For Disposable Youth, BAILER consciously decided to write every single song in a jam room together, fleshing it all out and creating what felt right in real life. There’s nothing wrong or right about any form of creativity, but the results speak for themselves.

Having impressively garnered attention from Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, Metal Injection and Heavy Blog Is Heavy so early into their career, BAILER have proven to be Ireland’s most exhilarating heavy band. Now with their debut album on the horizon, the quartet are setting their sights on becoming one of hardcore’s most exciting prospects. 

BAILER have already a strong reputation on their home ground, playing shows alongside Norma Jean, Sick Of It All, The Black Dahlia Murder, Conjurer, Employed To Serve, Palm Reader, Malevolence, God Mother, Coilguns and more.

2018 and 2019 saw the band start to mark their territory further afield, having successfully toured Russia and the UK extensively in support of their self-titled EP.
