One of the brightest stars in the Symphonic Metal universe have found a new home: NUCLEAR BLASTRECORDS is incredibly proud to welcome BEYOND THE BLACK to the ranks of the worldwide NB family.
The band states: “After an exciting and successful time with our former record label, we are ready to open a new chapter of BEYOND THE BLACK today. As a band we stand together as strong as never before and in NUCLEAR BLAST we have found a powerful label partner with a great team who are going to join forces with us to bring BEYOND THE BLACK to a new level. Also, deciding for the world’s biggest Metal label feels somewhat like coming home!”
With their astronomical rise after the release of their debut album “Songs Of Love And Death”, the band around singer Jennifer Haben went supersonic – most recently reaching a number of impressive chart positions with fourth LP “Horizons”. Lauded by press and fans alike, the band gained immediate international interest as they quickly became the most successful Symphonic Metal band to come out of Germany. Throughout their career they already shared stages with acts like AEROSMITH, KORN, SCORPIONS and WITHIN TEMPTATION.
Marcus Hammer, Managing Director of NUCLEAR BLAST GMBH, states: “We’re thrilled to welcome BEYOND THE BLACK as a new member of the NUCLEAR BLAST family. We’re talking about an exceptional artist with talent and passion that raises huge hopes into their meteoric rise only being the start of something bigger. We couldn’t be any happier to be an important partner for BEYOND THE BLACK from now on and support the band on their future path – we’re looking forward to a fantastic time and a promising future for both partners!”
Jens Prueter, Head of A&R Nuclear Blast Europe adds: “We are very proud to welcome BEYOND THE BLACK to NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS. It’s amazing what they achieved so far: top 5 entries in the German charts, TV appearances, sold out shows and regular guests at the biggest festivals. A success that also caused envy but not everyone is as talented as Jennifer Haben and her band, and not everyone has such a spirit of hard work. It’s a pleasure to follow their strong vision and it’s a great addition to the NUCLEAR BLAST artist roster where they will be in good company with NIGHTWISH, EPICA, AMARANTHE or BATTLE BEAST. Special thanks to their manager Benjamin Küfner for making this happen. Let’s explore new horizons!”
BEYOND THE BLACK will start 2022 with a breath taking co-headline tour throughout Europe alongside label mates AMARANTHE. Tickets are already on sale, the pairing will be stopping at:

Texas based symphonic metallers, TULIP, have released their new single “CLONE” out now on all major platforms. The single is from their new 6 track storyscape EP The Witch due out on September 17th, 2021.
The EP, which is their heaviest yet, opens with the menacing “SIDEWINDER”, and throttles listeners into the pulsing anthems of “CLONE” and “PROXY”, finally ratcheting up to the massive title track “THE WITCH”. Their first two singles “SIDEWINDER” and “PROXY” racked up over 100,000 listens on Spotify in their first month alone and topped curated playlists including Spotify’s Epic & Melodic and Progressive Metal. With this latest release, TULIP is poised to impact the symphonic metal world, fronted by former opera singer Ashleigh Semkiw’s intense vocals, Colin Parrish’s powerful guitar and Ryan Claxton’s fury on the drums making them unlike any other in the genre.
Forged in the fire of excommunication, Texan transplants ‘Tulip’ deliver their own brand of symphonic metal, spearheaded by ex-professional opera vocalist Ashleigh Semkiw, and Colin Parrish on guitar.
Their story is a unique one. Publicly shamed, ostracized and cast out of the church, Semkiw and Parrish formed TULIP – an acronymic nod to their former faith.
Emerging together for the first time in September 2018, the members of Tulip are established artists, having performed for a decade in their respective past acts; Ashleigh in professional opera, Brandon with ONI throughout Europe alongside the likes of Children of Bodom and Lamb Of God, Ryan sessioning across the USA and Canada, and co-lead member Colin as an accomplished recording and mix engineer.
TULIP, their self-titled debut EP was self written, recorded and mixed, and was mastered by the legendary Troy Glessner (Devin Townsend, New Found Glory, Disturbed). The five song collection delivers symphonic metal with a modern groove oriented twist.
Following their first US tour with Swedish metal outfit Evergrey, Tulip went even further with their next recorded effort. The LP High Strangeness boasts twelve tracks of bone crushing drums, searing guitars and masterful vocals underpinned with full orchestration and layered synths.
Recorded at their home in Argyle, Texas – the LP was born out of a fascination and curiosity both Semkiw and Parrish share for the unexplainable. Avid fans of Coast to Coast AM Radio and Whitley Strieber, they sought to create a musical pilgrimage into the unknown.
The first full-length album by the Bremen death metal quartet from FEAR CONNECTION is just around the corner!
After Corona threw a spanner in the original release plans, “Progeny Of A Social Disease” will be released on 1 October via Black Sunset/MDD. The follow-up to 2018’s EP “Raging Terror” was produced at Soundlodge Studio under the direction of Jörg Uken.
The result is an incredibly brutal, dynamic and varied album that combines powerful death metal with thrash elements, various facets of crust/punk/d-beats, catchy melodies and hooklines. The album will be released as a CD jewel case as well as a vinyl edition in two different (black and neon-green-splatter) versions. Stay Tuned!
Czech post, doom metal band INDRID COLD have released a second official video taken from their 2021 album release Monument Prázdnoty (released worldwide via Sliptrick Records) and once again directed by Luboš Stručovský.
Here’s the bands enigmatic statement; “It is the prayer of my innermost being to realize my supreme identity in the liberated play of consciousness, the Vast Expanse. Now is the moment, here is the place of Liberation.” Alex Grey
Monument Prázdnoty (Eng: Monument of Emptiness) is the debut album from Czech post, doom metal band Indrid Cold. The word emptiness means: “The field of boundless emptiness is what exists from the very beginning. You must purify, cure, grind down, or brush away all the tendencies you have fabricated into apparent habits. Then you can reside in a clear circle of brightness. Utter emptiness has no image. Upright independence does not rely on anything. Just expand and illuminate the original truth unconcerned by external conditions. Read more …here
Jimmy Kay and Alan Dixon from Canada’s The Metal Voice recently spoke to lead singer of Sabaton Joakim Brodén about the upcoming tour opening for Judas Priest and their new upcoming studio album plus a whole lot more.
When asked about their upcoming Tour with Judas Priest and how it came about “I don’t know exactly how but we played with Priest the first time in 2010 in Berlin. We have run into each other at festivals and it’s all about timing. When we were kids one of our first favorite band was Judas Priest. Obviously we wanted to tour with them even before they knew we existed. It was supposed to be last year but finally we managed to get the timing right with album releases and when we were able to tour. I am really really looking forward to it. Doubly so since we have not been touring much lately and also to be touring with one of our favorite bands of all time, can’t be better huh?”
When asked about the upcoming new Sabaton studio album “It’s a Sabaton Album, we have been an evolutionary band not a revolutionary band. There is always surprises on a Sabaton album but we are never going to flip the coin and do something totally different on every song on a new album. There is going to be surprises on every album. I am actually listening and approving the master for the new album right now. A new album is always subjective and I think it’s pathetic when an artist says, this is our best album we ever made and they keep promoting the same tired line. I say it’s up to the listen to decide. But I know for a fact that everybody in the band, without even sitting in the same room together cause I shipped out the pre mixes to everyone and this is the only time in our history that everybody came back with F*** that sounds great! Everybody is super happy with the production. We were always happy before but maybe this maybe that but now wow we are really happy with the sound. I can’t reveal the exact topic but we are doing modern warfare 20th century.”
Will the songs that you released during the pandemic be on the new album “No they are totally separate from the new album. Those are not on the album we have a complete album, plus those tracks plus a bit more.”
Aug 14 2021 post on Sabaton’s Social media Announcing new album: THE WAR TO END ALL WARS!
