Italian sludge and stoner fusionists, PACHIDERMA, have announced their signing with Argonauta Records, who will release the band’s upcoming debut album as a Vinyl only release on November 19, 2021!

Of what started as a drum and bass duo in 2017, merging a core of sludge, stoner and audio effects, should soon become a trio while adding a third member to accomplish their enthralling fusion of monolithic sounds with a visual concept. Both musical and philosophical, PACHIDERMA adds a special and unique touch to the heavy music world, while combining various movie samples and vibrant effects, inspired by the dark myths and reality of humanity yet driven by the soul of heavy stoner rock and sludge metal.

PACHIDERMA’s upcoming debut, “Il Diavolo, La Peste, La Morte”, is a one-track concept album, divided in three acts, and was inspired by the philosophy previously issued in Bergman’s filmography. The album was recorded during the summer of 2019 in a “one shot-weekend” session by Andrea Lenoci at Molotov Recordings.

“We are pleased to announce the collaboration with the one and only Argonauta Records”, the band comments. “Releasing our first work with such a strong partner means a lot to us. “Il Diavolo, La Peste, La Morte” is about the questions that possess minds, but can’t be answered. The consequences are void.”

“Il Diavolo, La Peste, La Morte” will be released on Vinyl only on November 19, 2021 via Argonauta Records. The album chapters will read as follows:
1. Intro
2. Il Diavolo
3. La Peste
4. La Morte

DEE SNIDER Talks New Solo Album ‘Leave A Scar’, Twisted Sister Royalties, Live Stream & Family Feud

Jimmy Kay and Alan Dixon from Canada’s The Metal Voice spoke to solo artist and lead singer of Twisted Sister Dee Snider who spoke about his new upcoming solo album Leave a scar, Twisted Sister Royalties and appearing on Family Feud.

When asked about the writing process of the new solo album
“So you get the idea to do a record, you are feeling some inspiration and then you start working on the album. So you are writing and everyone goes this is awesome, this is coming out amazing, this is incredible. Then somewhere along the way it changes to a question. Is this awesome? Is this amazing? Is it incredible? All self doubt starts feeding and it’s the creative process and you can’t help it. When you are working in a studio especially now because of Covid you are not getting any outside input. So finally people are hearing it and the response has been really good so far. “

When asked about the upcoming live stream
“There will be a live stream event on July 29 is going to be amazing. I haven’t done a show in almost two years and we are doing it. Everybody is tested or vaccinated. We are doing it full blown shoulder to shoulder, it’s a small venue with about 1000 people but it’s going to be amazing to let the animals out of the cages for one night. There will be a lot of new music from my new album, stuff from my solo career and there will be some Twister Sister songs there as well.”

When asked what was it like to appear on Family Feud with his family recently
“We were dealing with the Covid protocols, even the audience was socially distanced. Steve Harvey (the host) you can see was missing that rapport you get from a packed house and people are less likely to laugh alone when socially distanced. The biggest thing for us when I looked up to see who else had been on the show, they never had a rock family, let alone a Heavy Metal family on the family feud. So I felt a sudden responsibility and my family and I spoke about it, so we said let’s not go out there and be clowns, even though it’s fun to goof around. They don’t expect you to come in there and kick ass on the game and win $25,000 for the coalition for the homeless. So we had a little talk backstage and said let’s represent our community, like I did when I went to Washington. They expect me to be an idiot and I am not going too, I am going to take this seriously I am not going to play into what they expect and with their definition of a Heavy Metal Rock Star.”

When asked if the song lyrics on ‘Crying for your life’ on the new solo album was Iced Earth Jon Schaffer inspired
“Maybe? (smiles) I don’t mind going there. Certainly he was the cherry on top of the cake. A lot of the younger generation (not all of you) I am a boomer and I take credit for spoiling the kids. But a lot of the younger generation has a tendency to point and not want to take responsibility for your actions, especially when things go wildly wrong. When I screwed up Twisted Sister and I did, It was me. I didn’t point fingers at the other guys in the band. At the end of the day I was the problem and I am the reason we broke up (Twisted Sister). I take full credit and full responsibility. I also take credit for the good things. We sold 10 million records, you’re welcome (laughs).”

When asked if Twisted Sister was underpaid for all the albums sold over the years
“Twisted Sister didn’t start receiving any album sales royalties until we recorded ‘Heroes are hard to find’, for the ‘Strangeland’ soundtrack. In order to get the band to reunite the record label wiped our debt out that was 1997. The band had been broken up for 10 years, we had sold tens of millions of records and we had not gotten one royalty check. Somebody brought it to Ahmet Ertegun (founder of Atlantic Records) attention that we were still in the red all these years later and they were trying to get us together and said Ahmet would you please just wipe these guys’ accounts clean, Ahmet we got enough from them. And Ahmet Ertegun probably didn’t even pay attention or know these things but he saw it and said they paid enough cleared the debt and so we have been getting royalty checks. The ones we should have gotten those big ones we never got. In 2001 Napster came out so a few years later people stopped buying records so our royalty checks are a joke. “

Legendary heavy metal vocalist and pop culture icon Dee Snider recently announced his triumphant fifth full-length album, Leave A Scar, out July 30, 2021 via Napalm Records. To commemorate the release of his new album, Dee Snider has announced a streaming event for his fans on Thursday, July 29. All ticket buyers will gain access to the concert stream on the 29th, as well as on-demand access to any and all content from the event for a 30-day period!

Tickets for the stream are available now at www.metaldepartment.tv

Like a scar itself, Leave A Scar is an illuminating plentitude of angst etched in time – serving as a musical refuge and expressive output for Dee. But in turn, this auditory time capsule written to express the anger, unease and pain he experienced during lockdown emerges as not only blisteringly heavy, but relentlessly powerful. Each of the 12 tracks on Leave A Scar not only further bolster DEE SNIDER’s position as one of the most celebrated frontmen of all time, showcasing that his vocal delivery and commanding swagger is as strong as ever, but that he is nowhere near stopping.

Once again produced by Jamey Jasta with co-production, mixing and mastering by drummer Nick Bellmore, “Leave A Scar” sees Snider & Co. continuing in the invigorated direction of 2018’s “For The Love Of Metal”.

Leave A Scar tracklisting: 1) I Gotta Rock (Again) 2) All Or Nothing More 3) Down But Never Out 4) Before I Go 5) Open Season 6) Silent Battles 7) Crying For Your Life 8) In For The Kill 9) Time To Choose 10) S.H.E. 11) The Reckoning 12) Stand

DEE SNIDER Band Line-up: Dee Snider – Vocals Charlie Bellmore – Guitar & Background Vocals Nick Bellmore – Drums Russell Pzütto – Bass & Background Vocals Nick Petrino – Guitar & Background Vocals

POLYCHUCK’s Musically Eclectic EP Out Now, New Single/Video ‘Beating Myself Down’ Released

Posted by tarjavirmakari on July 24, 2021

A great guitar shredder since the age of only 13, Montreal artist POLYCHUCK is now an innovative and ever-maturing singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and high profile guitar coach who’s ready to take the rock world by storm with multiple singles and a just-issued EP, ‘Shadows Exposed’ (released on July 23rd), and a new single/video, “Beating Myself Down,” which can be experienced here:

“I started messing around on the piano with something that sounded like The Clash’s ‘London Calling’ song, and I took it from there,” recalls Polychuck about the writing of “Beating Myself Down.” For me, the melody was clearly going to be kind of uplifting and motivational. At the same time, a friend and I were working on a text with a depressing tone, these lyrics were almost too much to be taken seriously. The theme was dark but the lines were cool and catchy and I knew there was something to keep developing this song. At first, we thought it would  fit perfectly like a Papa Roach/ Korn type of song, but I ended up wanting to try it on a more upbeat ‘the world is beautiful & unicorns, etc.’ instrumental track that I had written around the same time.”

Musically, Polychuck stepped outside the box for the song. “After recording the vocals and having finished the structure of the track, I decided to go all in with my upbeat vibe, and even add a brass section. The goal was to make it so ‘over the top’ that it’s almost like there’s a parade going on while I’m singing about how life sucks. The way I ended up arranging the song was now perfectly in line with the feel that I wanted it to have. The song has a swing beat, it starts off with a very light hearted piano chord progression and the instrumentation gradually gets fuller and more complex until the guitar solo kicks in, and I am moving forward going  in a super dramatic sound with the long arpeggios and sweep picking to give it an epic sound.”

And when it came to the song’s video, Polychuck knew exactly what he wanted. “A couple of weeks after having it mastered, and ready to release, I started getting tons of ideas for the music video to accompany the song. The video would need to be funny, but still keep the meaning that I was trying to communicate in the track. The idea was to have me play the role of many different aspects of myself. A bunch of me’s talking to each other like I am having some kind of self-inquiry moment or inner conversation. It happens to all of us, and that was my way to put that in music and now images. It took a bit of a humorous turn but it still had a very profound meaning. I’m really happy about what we did with this track and I really think it makes the perfect single for the EP. Enjoy the song!”

The multi-talented Polychuck played, produced, recorded and mastered everything that you hear on the EP. With most modern artists sounding quite one-dimensional, predictable, and same-sounding as their competition, the hard-to-pin-down Polychuck is a most welcome arrival on the music scene, as heard throughout ‘Shadows Exposed,’ and on the new single/video, “Beating Myself Down.”

‘SHADOWS EXPOSED’ TRACKLIST:
1.    Beating Myself Down
2.    Exposure
3.    In the Dark
4.    Driving Me Mad
5.    Lights Out

DEATH TRIBE (Anthony Kaoteon) Unveils New Album with Animated Movie

Posted by tarjavirmakari on July 24, 2021
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Anthony Assaker, DEATH TRIBE, KAOTEON. Leave a comment

DEATH TRIBE, the politically-charged project founded by award-winning Kaoteon guitarist Anthony Assaker, has released new album and animated movie, Beyond The Red Light District: A Canal Experiment.

Premiered via Knotfest, watch the full movie HERE.

Purchase the album here: https://bfan.link/beyond-the-red-light-district-a-canal-experiment

Beyond the Red Light District: A Canal Experiment (The Red Experiment for short) is a statement against all that is wrong in the world today. Everything that is pushed down our throats as we lost our tenure and are blinded by fear and manipulated knowledge – the worst kind of ignorance. All music, lyrics, guitars and concept by Anthony. Other musicians include and not limited to: Baard Kolstad (Leprous) – drums, Linus Klausenitzer (Obsidious): bass and Chris Baum (Bent Knee): violin.

Born in the midst of warfare, Anthony almost had his spirit broken by oppression, but now creates the perfect soundtracks to rebellion and defiant resistance. Anthony is pushing the boundaries of his artistic expression on the second album, these songs are the long, throat-rending roar of one man’s resolve to forge his own life on his own terms and to savour every breath.

Already known for his work with Golden God Award winners Kaoteon, Death Tribe is Anthony’s most diverse musical statement to date. This is a staggering achievement against all the odds, the sonic distillation of absolute defiance. This epitomises everything that metal was ever meant to be.

Anthony comments: “Music is not only about creating angry music but it is as well about the message behind the music. I want to create music with purpose to impact the listener and build awareness about what is wrong in this world. I want the listener to think about their daily choices that are leading humanity to its own demise. We need to stop blaming the world for our own mistakes. We are the world, we have the right to vote, the right to act, the right to raise awareness in many parts of the world and if we want a better world, we need to stop choosing what is right for our best interest and do what is best for everyone. From speaking up and supporting black communities, to LGBTQ+ communities, to supporting women’s rights and talking about oppressed nations from Colombia to Palestine just as much as I speak up about the suppression of the Lebanese people by their own government. We cannot choose when to call something right and wrong and this is what the 2nd album is all about – This is a wake up call to the world to realise that we need to change faster than ever before.”

Anthony now resides in The Netherlands, but he was born into the chaos and conflict of Beirut, under the looming shadows of corruption and domination, the disciples of radical ideologies poised vulture-like over his days and nights. However, he was not born a man to blindly accept his fate – he was determined to shape his own destiny. This is the first album that Anthony composed in the Netherlands and it feels like a new breed of chaos was born in these lands.

Death Tribe is a celebration of life’s ultimatum – Death.
