KRYPTOS was formed in 1998 in Bangalore, India and have long been considered as one of the spearheads of the Indian heavy metal revolution. With five critically acclaimed albums under their belt, they have supported some of metal’s biggest names like Iron Maiden, Testament, Kreator, Exodus, Death Angel and many more, earning themselves a reputation as a fiery and exciting live act.

Two years since their latest, vicious Afterburner– album, Kryptos returns to invoke the ultimate sound of denim and leather with the release of their sixth studio album! Force Of Danger will be out on October 1, 2021 via metal powerhouse AFM Records.

After Kryptos just recently shared a first single and music video of the crushing album title track (listen HERE!), today the band unleashed a second song from their upcoming album, titled Raging Steel. But beware! If you love speed metal classics like Freewheel Burning and Fast as a Shark, then this track will blitz through your speakers like a freight train! This is razor-sharp heavy metal, armed to the teeth with some of Kryptos‘ most savage riffs and solos yet. Says Nolan Lewis, guitarist & frontman of Kryptos:

“It’s time to put the pedal to the metal and blast through the cosmos with “Raging Steel” – the second blistering single from our upcoming album ‘Force of Danger’. Watch out headbangers! Whip out your spikes and leather and crank this sucker up!”

Listen to the furious new track by India’s kings of heavy metal, and watch Kryptos‘ cosmic video clip for Raging Steel right here:

Kryptos burst into the heavy metal scene with their debut album ‘Spiral Ascent’ in 2004. They were the first Indian heavy metal band ever touring Europe, followed by a worldwide signing with AFM Records, countless shows on tour with high class metal acts, two appearances at Wacken Open Air and many more prestigious festival stages. 2019 seen Kryptos not only headlining a European tour, but also the release of their fifth and most successful album to date, the vicious and dynamic ‘Afterburner‘, which proudly followed in the best traditions of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Accept and Thin Lizzy.

This Fall, Kryptos are set to put the pedal to the absolute metal as they once again strike back with their blistering brand of ‘80s inspired heavy metal! Force of Danger will be out on October 1, 2021 with a heavy touring schedule to follow soon. REAPING ASMODEIA Announce New Album ‘Darkened Infinity’; Release Video ‘False Awakening’

Minneapolis, MN based technical death metal trio REAPING ASMODEIA have announced their new album, Darkened Infinity, due for release via Prosthetic Records on October 15. Darkened Infinity is the group’s third full length release and sees the band weave together rhythmically complex and acerbic songwriting with a conceptual story of transcendence, consciousness and humanity’s ongoing struggle with the psychological self. Alongside the album announcement, REAPING ASMODEIA have also shared lead single False Awakening and its accompanying music video.

Pre-order Darkened Infinity here.

Speaking on the album announcement, the band comments: “It seems surreal at this point to finally be sharing our new album with all of you, but today we begin to do just that. We feel that False Awakening is a perfect way to begin to illustrate what we have constructed with Darkened Infinity.”

On False Awakening and the accompanying music video, the band add: “The darkness and intensity in this song and video bears a reflection of how vile our own actions can get lost in cognitive distortion, a theme and tone present throughout the album. A false awakening is an out of body experience that happens when you wake up from a dream only to realize that you’re still sleeping, superseding with a new perception and path in consciousness that takes shape when you are able to step outside of yourself.”

Produced and engineered by the band themselves in Minneapolis before being mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren (Machine Head, All Shall Perish, Carnifex) at Castle Ultimate and Sharkbite Studios, Darkened Infinity’s intricate lead melodies unfurl with a menacing clarity when set against the album’s more abrasive tones.

Darkened Infinity’s concept begins steeped in tragedy as the album’s protagonist loses his family at the hands of humanity’s destructive force, with his own life hanging in the balance. As the tale unfolds, Lane’s lyrics thread together a story of immortality, malevolent entities and realms of dream logic – all the while exploring humankind’s inherent duality. Darkened Infinity’s thematic quest for transcendence is adroitly tied together in the opening and closing moments, suggesting enlightenment is not something to be obtained, but merely ‘the consequence of being’.

In the four years since their 2017 effort, Impuritize, REAPING ASMODEIA have relentlessly pursued the US live circuit, playing shows alongside the likes of Slaughter To Prevail, Rivers of Nihil, The Faceless and many more – refining their craft with a perseverance and determination akin to few others. Discontent with resting on their laurels, REAPING ASMODEIA in 2021 are a far more seasoned beast, ready and willing to obliterate all notions of time mellowing their appetite and musical ambitions.

Immersive, immense and infinitely satisfying – Darkened Infinity deftly places REAPING ASMODEIA amongst the genre’s most promising and consistently intriguing groups.

Darkened Infinity tracklist:

1. Parasight
2. Epoch of Choler
3. False Awakening
4. Lamentations

OVTLIER premiered the official music video for their newly released single “Bulletproof” on Decibel Magazine. The band released the single on July 25th via Zoid Entertainment.

WATCH “Bulletproof” here.

The video features local MMA fighters in the Rochester, NY area. Two of them are pro fighters from Gladius Fights https://www.gladiuscombat.com/ and Bomb Squad (where Jon Jones got his start).

The single grabbed the #3 MOST ADDED spot on the Billboard (BDS) Mainstream Rock Indicator chart, and the #2 MOST ADDED spot on the Foundations SMR chart! In addition, the single has also been picked up by the Kickass Metal Spotify Editorial Playlist!

The band is currently on tour with Gemini Syndrome, A Killer’s Confession, and Pushing Veronica. The tour started on July 9th in Salt Lake City, UT at Royal Bar and concludes on August 15th in Albuquerque, NM at Launchpad.

“We live in an age where everything has become politicized; from image to virus. I have watched both bands and people label and segregate one another solely based on a difference of not character but opinion. We are force-fed so much false information by the media, although many are aware, we still have lost some humanity. I have grown impatient with the amount of ignorance and hypocrisy that spews from the puppets of this world. Anger would be an understatement. I look forward to the day people can look to grey area and realize there’s more to it all. “Bulletproof” is a call to my fellow man to remove the veils and look into the grey. These corrupt politicians are playing you. I don’t care what side you stand on or what bias feelings you hold to your “party”. I’m not left or right, up or down. I look at character and could care less about the empty promises and bullshit they are selling to your emotions only to gain a vote. I refuse to be a pawn in their game. We will never divide our audience based on age, sex, identity or politics, for our goal is to bring love and light together. Our “leaders” don’t want unity for that becomes a threat to agenda. I’m fed up. I want the old model to fall so we can build within its stead. It’s time for change and that starts with us” says Joey Arena.

Ovtlier has grown into a roaring rock band of stadium ambitions. Led by the enigmatic frontman Joey Arena, Ovlier has already captured the hearts of more than 60K daily followers online, more than 2.1 million views of fan-curated content on YouTube, over half a million streams Spotify, appearing in Revolver Magazine, Alternative Press, Loudwire, ABC News and has been selling out shows around the Northeast. Drawing influences from Breaking Benjamin, 30 Seconds To Mars, Korn, Periphery and others, Ovtlier brings the rock and metal edge to a new height of intensity.

Inspired by everything 80’s to 90s grunge and NuMetal, Arena began playing guitar at the age of 11 on an old 3-string guitar. After achieving commercial success with his band, Young Bloods, Arena re-centered himself and began traveling 8 hours from Rochester to Cleveland in search of an identity. Playing sold-out hometown shows, touring the states and rapidly growing their fan-base among all types of music fans. Housing a hybrid sound that cross-pollinates into other sub-genres, giving a formula to freedom in songwriting and forever being able to validate surprise in their releases to come. Ovtlier is set out to deliver their most personal and intense work yet.

Gemini Syndrome are pleased to announce their (Summer) Communion (Tour) with special guests A Killers Confession, Ovtlier + Pushing Veronica.

Gaia Guarda And Lindsay Schoolcraft Release Single “I Didn’t Break”

Canadian Juno nominated singer/songwriter Lindsay Schoolcraft has teamed up with Gaia Guarda to release “I Didn’t Break”, the first single off of the upcoming C Squared Underground Music Special compilation. The compilation will be released on Bandcamp on September 17th 2021 and features friends and clients of C Squared Music a new company formed by Corinne Westbrook and Curtis Dewar that helps bands with their promotion, marketing and sales. The compilation is the first album to be released under the new company’s name.

Gaia commented  “I didn’t break’” was born in the depths of the uncertainty of 2020 by two stubborn musicians that decided to do a collaboration, even though they had no access to the studio due to the pandemic restrictions.

“I learned to record in my bathtub, and give a second life to a pantyhose that I had lying around as a pop filter. The fact that the production was such a big challenge makes the song even more special to us. We hope you like it as much as we do! And I do recommend that listen to it while taking a bath, so you can imagine my homemade setup!”

C Squared founders Curtis Dewar and Corinne Westbrook further commented “We are really excited to be releasing our first album under the C Squared banner. When we first formed C Squared a few months ago, we really wanted to be able to work with bands in all aspects, not just PR, marketing and management. With this compilation we will now be releasing our first album and hopefully continue to release select albums over the next few years”.

CASSIUS KING Release Video for ‘Cleopatra’s Needle’

Fresh off of releasing their debut album Field Trip on California’s Nomad Eel Records yesterday July 23rd, CASSIUS KING – led by guitarist Dan Lorenzo (Hades, Non-Fiction, Vessel Of Light) with Dangerous Toys/Broken Teeth vocalist Jason McMaster – have just released their first full length video for the song Cleopatra’s Needle. The video was produced by Jason C. Stewart who also produced the Last Ride and Torture King videos off the last Vessel Of Light album.

Jason has become my go-to-guy the last year and a half.” said guitarist Dan Lorenzo. “His enthusiasm is off the charts and at this point I let him to whatever he wanted for Cleopatra’s Needle and I think it’s just as much fun to watch as it is to listen to”.

The band on the cover art concept:

When writing lyrics for the music given, it is normal for the full vision , or concept, of the cover art to come into play much later, and sometimes can even feel forced when given a deadline.

Sometimes, the band name can help conjure the art and where it can go. That was not the case with Cassius King when hearing the song’s pre vocal/lyric idea in rough song form.

…it started with a sort of doom sound. That is my opinion. Some might argue that CK is not really true doom metal. It has that feel here and there and continue ]s to get comparisons to the band, “Trouble”, and the like. So, the “Sabbath” sound seems to come though, influencing my pen, to write of dark shades, and night time minded wanderings. Blame it on the riffs, is what I say.

One of the earlier lyrics I wrote for this, was the song that ended up being called “Leave of Absence”, telling the loose story of being a subject in a mental institution, or in a memory care facility. It automatically brings up memories, personally, as well as from other art, books and movies. Maybe not limited to “One flew Over the Cuckoo’s nest”, but, yes…
I talk of getting lost ,and actually sing of “dancing in the field, until the doctors find you”, non specific as a metaphor that can be used, and ends up making sense when you hear the lyric “your white gown blows up high, above your head”. The guys in white scrubs and sneakers in a sort of search and rescue coming to get you to take you back to the looney bin, after you have conveniently, and somewhat harmlessly escaped. I need to mention, the sort of mind altering medications one might be prescribed after they diagnose you as, well,“ crazy”?… crazy because you talk to imaginary beings that might not, or might actually exist, being the reason you have been told that you are… “crazy”. Even if… these things/beings you see, are your friends, and make you smile, and have docile moments throughout the day. The medications rob you of all of this. I feel I should mention here, to be fair, I have written about this subject matter before. A darker twist on the same thing, on an Ignitor song called, “the Golden Age of Black Magick”. It sings/talks about how the medications are not letting you see/feel the things that might be helping you and your health, in some way, even if they go against common beliefs the doctors and administrations consider archaic, or bad for the media.

As I write the lyrics for “Leave of Absence”,  I actually do not have a title before I pen the lines leading up to the final map of the lyric idea. I have a breakdown line that says “just another field trip”. I start out by calling the song “Field Trip”. I finish the song, the lyrics, and I send it to Dan (Lorenzo). Dan is so happy that the songs are coming to life, he pays no mind to where i am going with this. Then, almost on an indecisive dime, I spin and start to think that the title is weak..( Writers doubt themselves often, which is why I don’t think I will ever finish my book). I changed the title to “Leave of Absence”. I inform Dan. No push back at all.

Jimmy (bassist James Schulman) and I started to collaborate on lyrical ideas. Between Jimmy, Dan and myself, we start thinking of what title of the record could/should be. We have half the record written at this point, when Jimmy, not knowing anything about the title change, pipes in and says “How about we call the record “Field Trip”.  pretty strange, and maybe not strange at all.

Fast forward, we start to conceptualize the content of the song we took the title from. Jimmy really shines in this moment by submitting asylum room photos, that are truly disgusting, but very much art. I throw the idea of the escaped looney on the trail with his imaginary friends, that only he can see, or thinks are real. Rough ideas take shape. I photoshop the roughs and send them to the band. They think the cover art could be actually finished before the record is. I tell them to pump the breaks and insist we need a real artist to take this to another level.

Enter Claudio Bergamin. the artist known for the cover art for Judas Priest’s “Firepower”.
I met Claudio in Portland, OR. some years ago at a heavy metal convention. He was super cool, and we chatted about nothing and everything in a few minutes. He gave me his card and told me to contact him if I ever needed art.

What you see on the cover, front and back, are photos taken by Claudio, and manipulated into the concept and vision. It all came from an honest place. Some of it originates from time spent with my mother in a memory care facility, and meeting other patients and doctors. I learned a lot. As you can imagine, or have had the same experiences.
– Jason McMaster
