CARNIFEX Reveal Details For New Album “Graveside Confessions”, Release Music Video for “Graveside Confessions”

The undisputed masters of blackened deathcore, CARNIFEX, have returned to ignite sonic memories of albums past with the scorch of old-school sound. On September 3rd, the band will release their eighth studio album via Nuclear Blast Records. Today, the band releases the music video for the track “Graveside Confessions”. Check out the video directed by Jim Louvau and Tony Aguilera, here:

CARNIFEX comments, “This is an immensely personal album to all four of us. We poured our hearts with all the love, fear, and pain we know into this album. Please take the journey with us.”

CARNIFEX’s GRAVESIDE CONFESSIONS is no stranger to the harsh world in which it was created. While all of humanity experiences the turmoil of pain, weakness, and betrayal, it is also deeply ingrained in our nature to keep these notions closely protected; to keep them secret. Often as we approach death, we feel an insatiable need to reveal these things to one another; to confess.

The album arose just in time to aid in celebrating the 15 year anniversary of the debut CARNIFEX album, DEAD IN MY ARMS. The band revisited their first album to re-record 3 songs, but now with huge advancements in production technology. A return to their roots, these songs act as the completion of a circle; a return to where things first began.

With the engineering of the record completed in-house by drummer Shawn Cameron, the band recorded the album at Back Lounge Studios in San Diego, CA almost entirely themselves with the help of Mick Kenney (ANAAL NATHRAKH, BLEEDING THROUGH) for the mixing and mastering. This process especially compared to CARNIFEX albums of the past developed a far more satisfying and concentrated artistic vision for the band. CARNIFEX enlisted English artist GODMACHINE, who has worked on the two previous albums, to create the next installment of visual art for Graveside Confessions.

DOWNFALL 2012 Release New Single For MOTORHEAD’s Song “Ace Of Spades”

DOWNFALL 2012, a three piece band hailing from Houston, Texas is excited to announce their cover song:  Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades”  released today, July 23rd, 2021.

“In Spring of 2021 we were invited to tour with Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow Review on a number of TX dates.  On the run our buddy  Short E. Dangerously suggested we record our rendition of Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades” for him to use in future performances.  We had been playing the song for years but never considered recording it. However, we loved Shorty’s idea and decided to give it a go!  

We recorded everything in our personal studio, and then shipped it off to our producer Jim Finley to put his magic on it.  The track came out so good that we had to share it with everyone! 

Downfall 2012’s “Ace of Spades” is available July 23, 2021 on all streaming platforms, and during Short E. Dangerously‘s incredible performances touring with Hellzapoppin! We selected an epic pic of him for the cover art too!

Hard Rock Trio THE WARNING Unleash New Single “Evolve”

As they continue racking up fans, followers, and acclaim from the media and music icons alike, the Monterrey Mexico hard rock sister trio THE WARNING have emerged to unveil “EVOLVE,” their new single released via LAVA/Republic Records.

“We wrote ‘EVOLVE’ about humanity’s dangerous obsession with evolving,” the band said. “And how sometimes that evolution leads us to slowly leave our humanity behind. Is this dehumanizing evolution right or wrong?”

Produced by the legendary David Beneath (Paramore, Bring Me The Horizon, Breaking Benjamin), “Evolve” is a musical journey led by Daniela Daniela “Dany” [guitar, lead vocals, piano], Paulina “Pau” [drums, vocals, piano], and Alejandra “Ale” Villarreal [bass, piano, backing vocals]. Coming soon: the band has been tapped by Metallica for a cover of “Enter Sandman,” the track that first sent the trio into viral music stardom. The single will be featured on The Metallica Blacklist album, the 30-year anniversary reissue of Metallica’s iconic self-titled 5th album, also known as The Black Album. The reissue is set for release on September 10. In addition, fans will be able to catch The Warning on the road as they perform at the Welcome To Rockville Festival, open for the Foo Fighters in front of a 60,000-person crowd at Mexico City’s Foro Sol, and at a two-night sold-out run at the Troubadour in January 2022.

BRIAN SETZER Releases New Single ‘Smash Up On Highway One’

The iconic guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and 3-time Grammy award-winner, BRIAN SETZER, who last month announced the all-original 11-track album with the single and animated video for “Checkered Flag,” co-wrote the blazing “Smash Up On Highway One,” with frequent writing partner Mike Himelstein. Listen to the song below and at streaming services everywhere.  Pre-order the album here.

“I usually start out with a guitar riff,” says SETZER about writing “Smash Up On Highway One.”    “I was playing ‘Misirlou’ by Dick Dale with the Stray Cats, and I thought, ‘wow I’d love to write something as cool as that riff.’ So I came up with something out of left field.  I don’t know what you would call it–Middle Eastern or Eastern-European. Some college professor probably has a name for that scale. I had that riff laying around. I guess you could say I’m always collecting cool guitar parts. Mike Himelstein sent me those lyrics and they just fit right in. I think it’s really cool–it’s a way to move the whole rockabilly genre forward. The surf drum part in there with the guy playing the tom-toms similar to ‘Wipeout.’ I love it.”

Produced by Julian Raymond (Glen Campbell and Cheap Trick), GOTTA HAVE THE RUMBLE contains songs, all written or co-written by Setzer, and was recorded in Minneapolis (Setzer’s adopted hometown) and Nashville. GOTTA HAVE THE RUMBLE is a red-hot album from start to finish–American music amped up to 10–with songs that are full of dynamism and bravado.  Highlights include “Checkered Flag,” “Smash Up On Highway One,” “Drip Drop,” “The Cat with 9 Wives,” “One Bad Habit” and “Rockabilly Banjo.”  The track listing is below.

“Obviously, it’s a reference to my motorcycles and hot rods, something that hasn’t changed since I was 15 years old,” says SETZER about the album title GOTTA HAVE THE RUMBLE. “I still have the same passion for going fast and adrenaline. But it’s also about my hearing problem with tinnitus–the ringing of the ear. It was pretty bad, and I realized that I couldn’t play the way I wanted to. As I recovered, standing in front of a small amplifier just didn’t cut it. The sound from my big amp makes the guitar rumble. Which is a big part of my sound. I was really despondent for a while because I thought I wouldn’t be able to do that again. So, ‘Gotta Have The Rumble’ refers to both of those things.”

DEE SNIDER Announces Streaming Concert Event on July 29th

Legendary heavy metal vocalist and pop culture icon DEE SNIDER recently announced his triumphant fifth full-length album, Leave A Scar, out July 30, 2021 via Napalm Records. To commemorate the release of his new album, DEE SNIDER has announced a streaming event for his fans on Thursday, July 29. All ticket buyers will gain access to the concert stream on the 29th, as well as on-demand access to any and all content from the event for a 30-day period!

Dark, mysterious, and alluring, welcome to BASTETTE‘s ‘Sick & Twisted’ fantasy that draws you in and spits you out!

Gritty rock/pop group BASTETTE have released a brand new single ‘Sick & Twisted’ and will play their first live gig in over 15 months in Newcastle (today Friday 23rd July) as way of celebration.

“‘Sick & Twisted’ summaries a toxic passionate relationship, centered around lust and mind games”, explains Bastette singer/songwriter Caroline Kenyon. “This particular relationship clouded my judgment and I forgot what normal and acceptable behaviour was. By exerting control through intimacy, it weakened my position and fulfilled that person’s desires and built their ego… they got off on it. Blackmail through intimate favours was their go to form of influence and in the end I was forced to decide what behaviour I was willing to accept. ‘Sick & twisted is my perspective on this fucked- up “situation” and while being a tale of caution, it demonstrates that there are ways to exit toxic situations if you put your mind to it and have the necessary support”, concludes Carolyn.

‘Sick & Twisted’ is taken from Bastette’s forthcoming new ep ‘Exposed’ and follows hot on the heels of previous single ‘Talk About It’. The release of the new music video is followed by Bastette’s first live in-venue show in over 15 months at Trillians, Newcastle Friday 23rd July. “We’ve actually got a real live show! We can’t wait. Playing gigs is one of the main reasons we went into music and there is no feeling like it. Since the unprecedented challenges of 2020 and beyond there have been lots of changes and hard work in the Bastette camp to be 100% ready for this new  EP and when safe to do so, perform in venues with audiences ready and waiting to embrace the incredible feeling that only comes from live music!”, says Carolyn.

Bastette’s ‘Exposed’ ep was recorded at the Lounge Recording Studio in Wigan with producer Gareth Nuttall (Frank Turner). Taking influence from the Pretty Reckless, Halestorm and Starbenders, Bastette mesh sparkling rock sonics and gritty pop smarts with original songwriting that lyrically resonates with real life. Each track on the ep is laid to bare with exploration of betrayal, love, sex, control, manipulation, and passion all moulded into one, but authentically asks ‘how much of it is real, and how much of it is fantasy’?

To support the release of their new music Bastette has a number of shows booked that includes a UK tour with Marisa and the Moths, plus the band are special guests to Transvision Vamp legend Wendy James, and Aussie rockers Massive on a number of their UK dates!
