Instrumental Trio NAVIAN Release Hypnotizing New Single “Temple”

Norwegian instrumental trio NAVIAN are back with their hypnotizing new single “Temple”! If you enjoy powerful riffing entwined into sonic catchiness and melodic landscapes, “Temple” will be your sacred auditory space! The single is now available on all streaming platforms – listen to it here: https://orcd.co/temple.

“Temple” is the second single off their upcoming debut album, which will be released via Indie Recordings.

As the band states: “’Temple’ was one of the first tracks created during the song-writing process and has gone through a plethora of changes before ending up as it did. We wanted to test out different kinds of tonal language and different kinds of time signatures to achieve a totally different feel from the rest of the tracks. With all the experimenting it was important for us to achieve a “cut the bullshit” feel with strong melodies. On top of that we wanted it to work great live being a track full of energy! This track was inspired by both “Haken” and “Rabea Massaad” in regards to both writing and their sound”.

Norwegian prog trio Navian are inspired by bands like Plini, Intervals, and Polyphia. Navian build their music on technical melodies, interesting rhythms, big soundscapes, and groovy hooks! RockNews (CH) described Navian’s music as ‘special and challenging in so many ways’, while ManofMuchMetal (US) writes that their debut EP “skips along with a freshness and a bounce that is entirely infectious…”.

The guys met while taking a bachelor’s degree in contemporary music and were all working as session musicians. It is safe to say that the trio have an above average interest in music theory and history, production, instruments, and gear. Navian started out as a musical playground, a place where the members could challenge themselves and write the music they most wanted to play. “Practicing on something really hard, something that feels like we’re never going to master, and to spend numerous hours to finally achieve it. That feeling of pure joy is indescribable. It’s something we all love. It could perhaps be compared to sports, and how the sense of achievement hits you when you make the most crucial score of the game.”

The band came together in just one month. It all started with the bass player attending a concert with Polyphia and instantly thinking that he had to start a band like this. From there, the line-up was set, but they didn’t really get things going before their first festival booking, giving them one month to finish tracks for a full set. The intense work turned to great success, leading the band to continue the work for a full length.

Right before the first lock down in the home country Norway, they played at the Norwegian show case festival by:Larm, where the audience “sang” along to the track “Multiplayer”.

ENSLAVED Announce New 4-Track-EP ‘Caravans To The Outer Worlds’ Out October 1st

There is a desert which is very old, very dry, and very dangerous. Few have ever dared to cross it, and fewer have returned. Some say that it is a desert between places, others say that it is a desert between worlds. Those who have crossed it and returned swear that the desert is another world in itself – an astral bridge, which swallows all but the most well-prepared travelers.

ENSLAVED are such seasoned voyagers. In their last venture, they descended into Utgard, deep in the dark beneath their native Norway. Now, they are preparing to set off again, not down this time, but out. They intend to cross the desert, into it and perhaps beyond it.

Travelling by sonic pathways, Caravan To The Outer Worlds will set off October 1st, inviting the listener to explore the esoteric spaces which call out from just beyond the dunes.

A new cycle has emerged and Enslaved find themselves on a bridge between the archaic and the unmapped. Caravans To The Outer Worlds EP is a tale of departure, of leaving behind a barren and desolate world, travelling boldly into the future.

Ivar Bjørnson stated,
“This is the story that wanted to be told, and this is music that demanded to be heard. Who are we to question that? After Utgard, the path ahead cleared itself – and we followed; past, present and future melted together in an EP that marks one giant leap for us. Into…”

Enslaved’s new 4-track EP Caravans To The Outer Worlds will be released on October 1st via Nuclear Blast.

Watch the video for EP title track Caravans To The Outer Worlds here:

Caravans To The Outer Worlds EP contains neck breaking riffage that points backwards to the raw beginnings of Enslaved – the title track marking an explosive lift-off with melodic breakaways and proggy slingshots onto new orbits, while the ominous Ruun II: The Epitaph takes a sombre dive into the murky and mysterious ocean of stars beyond the known. These two main pieces are framed by two intermezzos: Intermezzo I: Lönnlig. Gudlig. and Intermezzo II: The Navigator; wrapping up the main stories with respectively what came before and what is to come…

Caravans To The Outer Worlds EP tracklisting:
1. Caravans to the Outer Worlds
2. Intermezzo I: Lonnlig. Gudlig.
3. Ruun II – The Epitaph
4. Intermezzo II: The Navigator

Today August 6th, GENTLE SAVAGE unleash their new single “Livin’ It Up”, taken from the band’s debut album “Midnight Waylay“, previously released only on Bandcamp (on June 17th 2021).

Tornado stated on “Livin’ It Up”:
“Livin’ it up” is an energetic song about living without fear and Livin’ It Up right now. Join the party and get yourself some sweet Rock’n Roll. Hold nothing back, seize the moment and LIVE IT UP BABE!”

Buy and stream “Livin’ It Up” on all the major platforms, HERE

“Livin’ It Up” sounds something like Guns’n Roses meets Faith No More. Borrowing from the ‘80s Stadium Rock era “Livin’ It Up” takes you on a rollercoaster ride into the satin nights.

The stunning coverart was created by Elisa Kääriäinen.

Tornado on “Midnight Waylay” album: “Midnight Waylay depicts a ‘taking it easy in the daytime, turning into a beast at night’ kind of lifestyle. Just like a hunter strikes from the shadows, ruthless and silent, these songs can without warning rock your world. As a concept the album Midnight Waylay is best appreciated when served whole, but each song has its own character and works well independently. Find your own adventure, let yourself loose!”

Kimmo Kuusniemi, Godfather of Finnish heavy metal, on Gentle Savage’s debut album “Midnight Waylay”: “Listening to Gentle Savage reminds me of Deep Purple! That’s not bad at all!”

“Midnight Waylay” Track List:

  1. Karelian Magic
  2. Personal Hades
  3. YNAMW
    (You Never ask Me Why)
  4. Into The Abyss
  5. Honey Bunny
  6. After All
  7. Run Run Poor Boy
  8. Livin’ It Up
  9. Carry The Fire

Buy the album at https://gentlesavage1.bandcamp.com

Tornado stated on the album coverart:
“TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY
Isn’t it strange that when you get something really big done you are at the same time relieved and a bit confused?! That’s how it feels like right now.

The cover art was created by our friend, graphic art wizard Vin Valentino. Vin and vocalist Tornado created the Midnight Waylay world based on Tornado’s visions of a Rock Band descending down to earth using a ‘stairway to heaven’. That’s Tornado’s way of showing his gratitude to the old great ones who showed the Rock’n Roll way for latter generations to roll. “

BEGAT THE NEPHILIM Premiere New Song From Upcoming Album + Sign Worldwide Deal with Noble Demon

Southern New Hampshire based blackened melodic death metal unit BEGAT THE NEPHILIM have announced their worldwide signing with Noble Demon Records – joining the label’s eclectic artist roster for an album release in the Fall of 2021!

Formed in 2012, BEGAT THE NEPHILIM have carved a dynamic and distinctive career, sharing stages with high profile acts such as SOULFLY, SUICIDE SILENCE, NAPALM DEATH, SUFFOCATION, MORBID ANGEL and many more, as well as participating in tours/festivals across the US, such as Summer Slaughter and the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival. With their heavy yet melodic, anthemic and technically impressive sound, as well as their frenetic & chaotic live performances, the band successfully established a lasting impression on crowds across the US.

BEGAT THE NEPHILIM‘s highly anticipated sophomore full-length record, titled “II: The Grand Procession”, will be coming out on October 29th via German powerhouse label Noble Demon. In support of the new album, BEGAT THE NEPHILIM just unleashed a brand new lyric video for the track “Paupers Grave”, a first and enthralling glimpse of what to expect from the band’s upcoming output!

Watch the lyric video for “Paupers Grave” here:

“This song is likely the most political we will ever get, though written from a neutral standpoint so as to be appreciated and viewed through the eyes of any political affiliation, regardless of where on the spectrum you fall. It seems the lens through which people perceive one another lately, political “adversaries ” in particular, often ranges from disdain to hatred for one another; leaving no ability to find a middle ground or means of compromise.” the band comments.

Make sure to pre-save “II: The Grand Procession” at THIS LOCATION and stay tuned for more news, details and tunes to follow in the weeks ahead!

ALIEN WEAPONRY Unite Fans Worldwide in New Music Video for “Buried Underground”

New Zealand’s metal stars ALIEN WEAPONRY recently announced the highly-anticipated upcoming release of their essential sophomore album, Tangaroa, out September 17, 2021 via Napalm Records.

Today, the band invites fans to come together in a worldwide “stomp” showdown! Recently, the band united international fans in lockdown by asking them to submit a video of themselves performing a signature “stomp” and star in the official “Buried Underground” music video. Today sees the release of both the track and official video – so now you can join the fun at home or wherever you are!

Show ALIEN WEAPONRY your stomp! Make sure to hashtag #AWburiedunderground and tag the band for a chance to have your stomp shared with the world via the band’s social media!

ALIEN WEAPONRY are poised to dominate with Tangaroa. The album coalesces the band’s growing maturation with an undisturbed songwriting process, resulting in their most inspired, honest and informed material yet. Tangaroa is immersed in important historical accounts and cultural heritage of the Māori people – in addition to lyrics written in te reo Māori, many tracks feature traditional instruments, called taonga puoro, providing the tracks their own warrior-like attitude. Rhythmic, dynamic album opener “Titokowaru” begins with determined rowing chants and depicts the tale of a famous war chief that challenged the colonial government in New Zealand and led a rebel army, backed by quick riffage and driving drums. Following standout “Hatupatu”, inspired by the harrowing, legendary tale of a de Jong ancestor facing off with a witch, is carried by frenzied guitars, spirited chanting and tribal-like percussion. While ALIEN WEAPONRY sourced inspiration from their culture and environmental surroundings while writing most of Tangaroa, the band also looked inward – drawing vision for other portions of the album from within. The album dives into some of their most effecting personal experiences, with English-language songs like the pensive “Unforgiving”.

Accented by personal touches like its entrancing album art originally conceptualized from drawings by Lewis de Jong, Tangaroa is a massive next step for a band on the rise, encompassing all of the elements that make ALIEN WEAPONRY heavy metal’s most authentic rising stars.

Since releasing their acclaimed debut Tū (2018), ALIEN WEAPONRY‘s kinetic presence and sound – combining elements of thrash and groove metal with lyrics in the native indigenous language, te reo Māori — has attracted throngs of fans and media supporters across the globe. In addition to amassing millions of cross-platform streams and YouTube views, the band has seen bounds of success at SiriusXM Liquid Metal, was recently hailed the “future of metal” by Metal Hammer, and was voted by Revolver Magazine fans as “one of the bands most likely to break out in 2021”. Furthermore, ALIEN WEAPONRY just added an upcoming tour with metal behemoths Gojira to their hefty performance resume – a list that already included support of some of the biggest names in metal like Slayer, Black Label Society and more.
