Symphonic Metallers NERGARD have released a new lyric video for the third single off their critically acclaimed album “Eternal White” which was released through Pride & Joy Music on the 21st of May. After 10 years of being a ‘guest star project’, “Eternal White” takes the band in a new direction and is Nergard’s first album with a permanent line-up of singers and musicians.
The whole album covers the tragic events around the Carolean Death March of 1719, with the third single, “Pride of The North” depicting the battle of Storkyro in Finland and spearheads the sound of the new album with its epic orchestrations, soaring vocals and heavy guitar riffs.
This single follows on from the first two releases, “From the Cradle to the Grave” and “Carry Me” which really set the scene for the 10 tracks on the album; a definite listen for any fans of symphonic and power metal music.
Hard rock band THE LONELY ONES released the official music video for their new single titled “Gettin’ High.”
“We’ve seen the opioid crisis ravage the world and unfortunately every single person in America has been touched by it in some way. Either with our own struggles or people very close to us. It’s a national emergency and the lyrics describe one of many experiences I’ve had with this drug taking away people I cared very deeply about” says Marty McCoy, the band’s vocalist/guitarist.
The Lonely Ones will be on tour for the rest of the year in support of the new single.

Formed in the summer of 2019, The Lonely Ones are a four piece vocal-oriented hard rock band with an ear for melody and a taste for success. No strangers to the hardships of the music industry, The Lonely Ones know what they want and know how to get it. They released two singles,“Eternal Sadness” and “The Lonely One,” independently in March of 2020.
The band released their re-imagined version of Queen’s classic song “Flash” in July of 2020. The song/video was met with rave reviews including those of Brian May (Queen) and Sam J Jones (Flash Gordon, The Highwayman).
Brian May was quoted as saying, “What a fantastic cover! I didn’t realize they were going to go into The Hero and the whole reprise … magnificent!”
Sam J Jones adds, “This is one of the best covers I have ever heard and seen. What a gifted group – The Lonely Ones are for everyone of us, from the 1980’s to right now!”
Austin TX’s ragging hardcore collective BAND OF BASTARDS is back this week with another new song from their volatile debut album, DELETE. REPEAT., that’s out July 23rd from Redacted Records/SilverDoor Music. The slow-burning scorcher “Let Me Out” is a punk-n-roll anthem tinged with hardcore energy that’s made for the pit.
Commenting on “Let Me Out,” guitarist Andrew Leeper says:
“Let me out is about looking for a new path but constantly getting pulled back into the same claustrophobic roles put on us every day. It’s about looking for a way out. It’s also about twice the length of any other Band of Bastards song at an epic 3 minutes and 16 seconds hahaha.”
BAND OF BASTARDS is a hardcore punk band, by lifers for lifers. After decades in the Austin underground and a rap sheet of current and former bands a mile long (…And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, Sparta, Markov, Black Books, We’ll Go Machete, Glass Shadows) these Austin music scene vets form a tight, locked-in wrecking crew.
Fast, loud and to the point, the 12 songs on DELETE. REPEAT. rip by in under 30 minutes. Recorded by Charles Godfrey of Scary American Recordings (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Swans, Black Angels, Cannibal Corpse) the record captures the raw intensity and immediacy of the BASTARDS slugging it out in a grimey, all-ages club.
With roots in early American hardcore, BAND OF BASTARDS manages to evolve that sound into something new. It’s chaotic, it’s relentless and it’s righteously pissed.
DELETE. REPEAT. Tracklisting: 1. Ruined 2. Prospect 3. False Idols 4. Division 5. Holly Roller 6. Dying In The Streets 7. Let Me Out 8. Raising Satanic Children 9. Can’t Ya Crawl 10. Stand

Matt Pinfield and Eddie Trunk co-host “Stand Up and Shout for Ronnie James Dio’s Birthday” virtual event
STAND UP AND SHOUT FOR RONNIE JAMES DIO’S BIRTHDAY is co-hosted by radio and television personalities Eddie Trunk and Matt Pinfield, who introduced many of the performances and conducted interviews with artists as well as with Ronnie’s widow and longtime manager Wendy Dio, among many others.
The STAND UP AND SHOUT FOR RONNIE JAMES DIO’S BIRTHDAY virtual fund-raising concert features exclusive archival footage from Dio’s life and long-spanning career and never-before-seen footage from Dio Cancer Fund events held in Los Angeles since 2011 when the organization began. The Dio Cancer Fund was founded in memory of the late heavy metal icon who was the voice of Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath and DIO before losing his battle with gastric cancer in 2010. Through musical performances and storytelling, a wide array of guests celebrated the life of a man who deeply influenced their lives through his artistry and larger-than-life presence.
Throughout his career, Ronnie James Dio was a passionate supporter and contributor to charitable work and numerous animal charities. He was an artist who was not only well respected for his talent, but also admired and loved by his peers and fans worldwide, some of which included renowned celebrities, musicians, and prominent individuals from all walks of life.
The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund (www.diocancerfund.org), dedicated to cancer prevention, research and education, has raised over $2 million in its history. The organization’s last in-person event was its 10th Anniversary Gala held at the Avalon in Hollywood in February, 2020. Its annual RIDE FOR RONNIE Motorcycle Ride and Concert and BOWL FOR RONNIE Celebrity Bowling Tournament have been temporarily suspended as the result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
STAND UP AND SHOUT FOR RONNIE JAMES DIO’S BIRTHDAY is the latest in a lineup of stellar events produced by Rolling Live Studios. In January, the studio worked alongside Mike Garson to bring together an extraordinary slate of vocalists to perform with David Bowie’s band alumni for “A Bowie Celebration: Just for One Day” streaming concert event. The following month, YUNGBLUD’s stunning performance of “Life on Mars?” from the event played after millions of viewers watched NASA’s Perseverance rover successfully touch down on Mars.
To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Rory Gallagher’s eponymous 1971 debut solo album, UMC/UMe is pleased to announce the September 3 release of a five-disc deluxe box set of the album. Rory Gallagher 50th Anniversary Edition will include a brand-new mix of the original album, 30 previously unreleased outtakes and alternate takes, a six-song 1971 BBC Radio John Peel Sunday Concert, plus four 1971 BBC Radio Sounds of the Seventies session tracks, all mastered at Abbey Road Studios.
Also included is a previously unreleased 50-minute DVD of Rory’s first-ever solo concert which was filmed in Paris for the “Pop Deux” television show. All formats are available to pre-order HERE.
The extensive box set package will also contain a 32-page hardback book with many rare and previously unseen photographs from British rock photographer Barrie Wentzell, essays and memorabilia from the album recording including hand-written song lyrics by Rory, and an exclusive limited-edition poster.
The 2CD and 3LP editions of the album will be cut-down versions from the deluxe box set. There will also be a special limited-edition Neon Orange (transparent) 1LP featuring the John Peel Sunday Concert exclusively available via UMG’s online stores uDiscover and Sound of Vinyl.
The box set will also include exclusive liner notes written by his brother and manager Donal Gallagher, his long-time bass guitarist Gerry McAvoy (1970-1991) and photographer Barrie Wentzell, plus a full 1971 interview with Rory by journalist Roy Eldridge.
The debut album features some of the most beloved Rory songs such as “I Fall Apart” (Rory’s second most streamed song), “Laundromat” and “Just The Smile.” While reviewing numerous tapes during the 2021 mixing sessions, two songs were added to the collection: the previously unreleased “At The Bottom,” a track Rory ended up re-recording for his 1975 Against The Grain album, plus “Advision Jam,” a rocking instrumental. The recording saw Rory Gallagher on guitar and lead vocals as well as alto sax, harmonica and mandolin, Gerry McAvoy on bass and Wilgar Campbell on drums. Atomic Rooster’s Vincent Crane plays piano on two out of the 10 songs on the album “Wave Myself Goodbye” and “I’m Not Surprised.”
Rory had not played live since his previous band Taste disbanded on October 24, 1970. When Rory’s eponymous solo album was released in May 1971, he embarked on a 16-date UK tour that included 10 days touring Ireland and a short jaunt in Switzerland.
Recorded at the legendary Advision Studios in Fitzrovia, London, Rory’s eponymous debut album showcases the Irish guitarist as a multi-faceted interpreter of the blues with a cross-section of the blues from acoustic to heavy blues soul. Advision was one of the hottest recording studios in the 60s and 70s and home of classic albums recorded by The Yardbirds, The Who, The Move, T. Rex, David Bowie, Kate Bush, Elton John, Slade, Gentle Giant, Gerry Rafferty, and many more.
If ever there was a “musician’s musician” then that accolade belongs to Rory Gallagher. Renowned for his blistering live performances and highly respected for his dedication to his craft, he died in 1995, aged just 47.
Rory’s timeless reputation has continued to flourish in the years since. Indeed, some of rock’s most seminal figures, from Jimi Hendrix to Eric Clapton, Joe Satriani to Joe Bonamassa, Queen’s Brian May to The Smiths’ Johnny Marr, Slash of Guns N Roses to the Edge of U2, have cited him as an influence. Rory remains a touchstone for all would-be guitar heroes in the 21st Century.

Yesterday (July 16th), Berlin’s SPACE CHASER released their new album, Give Us Life, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of the record, a video for the new single, “Antidote to Order”, can be viewed below.
Space Chaser comments: “Check out the video clip to ‘Antidote to Order’. This is old school Space Chaser. After the high tech epos that is ‘Remnants of Technology’ and its prequel ‘The Immortals’, you will get some unadulterated thrash metal vibes. Old school arcade games, beer and thrash metal – who’s on board? Also, ‘Give Us Life‘ is finally out! We’re so happy that our strongest material to-date is now unleashed, and we are stoked to see what the fans think of it – plus, what the future holds in store for us. See you on the other side!”
Nothing can beat the thrill of thrash at its best, and no one is keeping the spirit and sound of the genre alive quite like Space Chaser. Marking their ten-year anniversary with their third full-length, Give Us Life, they are returning in force and once again establishing their importance in the scene. “What we do is contemporary Thrash Metal, if you will, and while still having the ‘old-school’ elements everyone loves, we try to incorporate some of the influences that we expose ourselves to. Over the last ten years, this kind of music progressed a lot, and of course that has its influence on us. But what we do is still Thrash Metal, we just hope we’re able to translate it a little bit better into 2021.”
The album was recorded at their go-to studio, Berlin’s Hidden Planet, with Jan Oberg, who the band acknowledge is a rather unknown name in the metal scene, but his work proves up to par with international standards nonetheless. The songs were produced by guitarist Leo Schacht and drummer Matthias Scheuerer with the help of Oberg, and for mastering they had Dan Swanö of Unisound Studios at the helm. “It was the smoothest recording process we have ever had. Everybody went in perfectly prepared and every idea worked out just how we anticipated. It’s almost surreal, though being satisfied with your production can lead you to get lost in details forever – and the intro for ‘Burn Them All’ was a bitch!” Acknowledging that it feels weird to have reached their tenth anniversary already, this landmark has only stoked the fires. “We never felt so pumped and ready for whatever life throws at us,” they say, and asking what they see when they look to the band’s future, they are emphatic. “World domination! Well…sort of. I think every band just wants to get as big a name in the metal world as possible, and we are no exception. We really hope to expand our fanbase outside of Germany with ‘Give Us Life‘, and we never even dreamt of getting the chance to release a record through Metal Blade. Furthermore, we definitely want to tour a lot as soon as we are allowed to. We are anxious to leave Europe for the first time, and we want to prove that we are capable of delivering on an international standard.”
Space Chaser 2022 tour dates: March 10 – Vinylreservat – Goettingen, Germany March 11 – Kulttempel – Oberhausen, Germany March 12 – Willemeen – Arnhem, Netherlands March 13 – Ragnarock – Bree, Belgium March 14 – Vortex – Siegen, Germany March 15 – Schlachthof – Wiesbaden, Germany March 16 – Backstage – Munich, Germany March 17 – Viper Room – Vienna, Austria March 18 – Chemiefabrik – Dresden, Germany March 19 – Bei Chez Heinz – Hannover, Germany
