The Norwegian Melodic Metal project NERGARD launches crowd funding campaign for their third album and lasts for a month. In this campaign the fans get the chance to follow the composer during the writing and recording through weekly video update + a lot more. Get more information on the Crowd funding page HERE.
“I wanted to create this campaign to interact on a different level with the people that follows this project.” Band chief Andreas Nergard explains.“They get to be a part of the new album since they are funding parts of it. The most exiting part about this is the video blog where I will post one 5 minute video every week from 1st of June until 20th of December. In this blog I will show songs I’m working on, lyrical ideas, cover art, guest artists and so on. After the writing sessions the blog will take place in the studio as we record it all. This will only be available for those that joins the campaign. I also created a very special mp3 package consisting of my two EPs “The Beginning” (2011) and “Intermission” (2014) + demos for songs from my first album and live recordings.”
Nergard have previously worked with great artists from the metal scene such as Elize Ryd (Amaranthe) Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear) Nils K. Rue (Pagan’s Mind) Göran Edman (ex Yngwie Malmsteen) Tony Mills (ex TNT) Michael Eriksen (Circus Maximus) and many more. For the new album a lot more well-known guests from the scene will appear. The ones joining the campaign gets to know the names of the guests and hear their parts weeks before the rest of the world through the video blog.
“The goal is to reach 2300 USD in one month. It’s hard to say if it is possible or not but it doesn’t matter if we reach the exact amount of money. Everyone contributing will get what they signed up for, it’s not just about the money. I wanted to create something special for my fans this time.” Says Andreas.
The new Nergard album is expected to be finished during 2016 and are aiming for a 2017 release.
On Through The Storm … lyric video feat Elize Ryd, Andi Kravljaca & Jorn Viggo Lofstad
A Question of God … feat Tony Mills
A Bit Closer To Heaven … feat Andi Kravljaca
Norwegian melodic metal band NERGARD has released a music video for the title track from their latest album “A Bit Closer To Heaven”. The video, can be seen below, was filmed at this years edition of Trondheim Metal Fest where the band was fronted by the amazing Andi Kravljaca (Aeon Zen, Thaurorod).
“The song “A Bit Closer To Heaven” is the very climax of my two albums. Both albums is a part of a two act metal opera and deals with the story of an unfortunate man that is sentenced to twenty years in prison for a crime which he did not commit. Upon his release he finds out that his wife and child has died. Blinded with grief he eventually commits suicide. This song is set to the place in the story where this man realises that his way out of the misery and to be reunited with his family is by committing suicide.”

Comment by band leader Andreas Nergård:
“The first material were written in late 2011 and it has been a long journey towards the final result. This album was very difficult to write because I aimed on writing shorter songs than what I did on my first album. I had to totally change my mentality towards song writing and that was a long way of complete failures. I guess I ditched at least 10 songs before ending up with the 8 songs that are on this album. I think this album is very diverse and has something for everyone. We have the very heavy metal tracks like “Lights And Shadows” and “Help Me Through The Night” and more pop/rock oriented songs like “Fall From Grace” and “I Will Find You”. My favourit from the album are the epic lead single “On Through The Storm” which is the duet between Elize Ryd and Andi Kravljaca. “

Norwegian Melodic Metal allstar project NERGARD releases yet another single from the new album “A Bit Closer To Heaven” entitled “I Will Find You”, check it out below.
Comments Andreas Nergard:
“I Will Find You is by far the most personal song I’ve ever written. It is a love song but not in the way that might seem like the obvious one. I Will Find You is about persons close to me that have passed away in different ways at different stages of my life. The lyrics were off course written to fit the story of the album but in overall this song is my way of saying that someday we’ll meet again. The song is carried by the voice of Andi Kravljaca and he did an amazing performance that really hit the nerve of the song with his passionated way of singing. Originally I tried this song with couple of other singers but I’m glad I chose Andi to do the job. He never lets me down and I always know his voice will do the job, especially on the more pop-oriented materiale.”
