This Friday, July 16 2021, the high priests of heavy metal – POWERWOLF – will continue their unique success story and release their long awaited new studio album Call Of The Wild!

Matthew Kiichi Heafy (TRIVIUM), friend and fan of POWERWOLF, has recorded an impressive version of the song “Fist By Fist (Sacralize Or Strike)”. This exciting version of the rousing track seamlessly follows the class of the original and will not only set the scene in excitement, but underlines POWERWOLF‘s international power of impact once again with this top-class feature.

Progressive death metal band BLACK CROWN INITIATE have just announced the Doom Escape Tour 2021. The band’s U.S. headlining tour, which features support slots from Inferi and Arkaik, starts on September 30th in Reading, PA and wraps on October 17th in Manchester, NH, making stops in massive markets along the way, such as Brooklyn, Nashville, and Atlanta. August 27, 2021 will see Ukrainian psych and garage rock outfit, STRAYTONES, release their fourth album, entitled Magic Green River Swimmin’ & Stunning Tarzanka Experience, via Robustfellow.

Following their latest, critically acclaimed EP Beware, Dark Lord! Here comes Bell-Man! (2019) and countless live shows with acts such as Somali Yacht Club or Stoned Jesus, on their upcoming full- length the Kiyv- based trio will delight rock fans with their vibrant blend of garage, psychedelic and surf rock. Imbued with the spirit of 60’s garage rockers and hippies, and heavily influenced by modern neo-psychedelic vibes, Straytones may recall associations with The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Night Beats, Wand, Ty Segall, Fuzz or Oh Sees, but add a very own and refreshing touch to their distinctive, groovy sound.

Their new LP, Magic Green River Swimmin’ & Stunning Tarzanka Experience, significantly demonstrates the growth of the band in the realms of psych and garage rock. “Our new album carries on a lot of stories and replete with a variety of colors, but we believe all of them perfectly fit into the Kyiv summer entourage.“ The band comments.

“The title is a play on words taken from famous rock albums and songs which were put together in a way to make a jocular and genuine mood of the album and to highlight the artwork. And the artwork captures a typical picture of Kyiv summer, which sticks in the memory since childhood, and worth mentioning – not much has changed since then! You can see a granny with naughty grandchildren, an old fisherman with his little boy, catamarans, clumsy home-made pie seller, boys from the hood with beer, tents, barbeque, reeds and canes, frogs, rope-jumps (we call it tarzanka-jumping), and more of what you can see on the bank of Dnipro river at summertime. These memories carry a warm tinge of carelessness, and we really wanted to express this mood with music and the artwork, and we think we did it just fine! Of course, not all these songs are about summer carelessness, but all they take their deserved place on the record. When we wrote these songs, recorded them, created an arrangement, mixed and mastered the records – we gave it 100%! Also, we wanted to mention that the album was recorded with Marina, our ex-drummer, and she’s put a lot of effort and talent into creating it. Currently, she’s not a part of Straytones anymore, and our beloved Eugenia took her place.”

For The Metal Voice Jimmy Kay stopped by the grounds Le Studio in Morin Heights Quebec Canada and did a quick report and walk around on July 4 2021.

Also according to Rush is A Band Website the grounds of where Le Studio used to sit is now for sale

“The legendary Le Studio recording studio in Morin Heights, Quebec where Rush recorded several albums throughout the ’80s and ’90s has been demolished and cleared, and the property it sits on is now for sale for $850K CAD. The studio was built in 1972 by recording engineer and producer André Perry, Nick Blagona and Yaël Brandeis. In addition to Rush, Le Studio hosted such legendary acts as The Police, Bee Gees, Chicago, David Bowie, April Wine, Cat Stevens and many others over the years. Perry sold the studio in 1988 and by 2008 it had gone out of business. Since then the property has steadily deteriorated, culminating in August of 2017 when it was partially destroyed by fire. Despite some half-hearted efforts to rehab the building/property over the years, it was finally demolished and put up for sale earlier this summer as seen in this video from The Metal Voice. Le Studio (later renamed Studio Morin Heights) was a residential recording studio in the Laurentian Mountains near the town of Morin-Heights, Quebec, Canada built in 1972 by recording engineer and producer André Perry, Nick Blagona and Yaël Brandeis. The studio, where artists recorded and stayed, was the venue for many notable Canadian and international artists, including Rush (it was nicknamed “Rush’s Abbey Road”, The Police, Bee Gees, Chicago, David Bowie, April Wine and Cat Stevens . Perry described the facility as “like the United Nations. I had people from London, New York, Quebec, all over the world.

Renowned for its retreat-like location as well as its state-of-the-art equipment, it was one of the earliest studios to install Solid State Logic mixing desk and RADAR digital-recording equipment. Perry sold the studio in 1988. In 2008 the studio had gone out of business, and as of 2015 the property was up for sale. On 11 August 2017, the building was partially destroyed by “a suspicious” fire.

The house and grounds are featured in the music videos of the recording sessions of the Rush songs “Tom Sawyer”,[21]”Limelight” and “Vital Signs”. The studio is also seen in April Wine’s music video for “I Like to Rock.”
