Released on Spira Records, YOU is the third studio album from UK rock band AIRBUS, featuring 13 songs that are the group’s most powerful statement to date.
The album was recorded in an ancient cottage in Portishead called The Grange, where lead singer Nick Davidge lived. The band turned the entire upstairs floor into a studio, financed by their previous successes and touring.
YOU showcases songs recorded in the early ’90s. AIRBUS were prolific during this time, enjoying full artistic freedom. Songs would flow freely, often at a pace faster than the group could represent, leaving a large amount of their catalogue unreleased.
This album came about after many years of transporting master tapes to the USA from the UK, one or two reels at a time. Due to their age, the tapes were baked and the audio was carefully lifted from them using a 24-track 2-inch tape machine. The songs were then mixed, keeping a warm analogue feel, true to the time when the music was recorded.
A variety of videos have been made to support the album. Some were filmed recently, using modern technology to create a cinematic feel. Others use footage from the band’s live gigs during the early ’90s, showcasing powerful performances from the time when the songs were originally written.
AIRBUS believes that the music featured on this album stands the test of time and deserves to be released. YOU paves the way for their next album, IMPERIAL GUNPOWDER, which the band are currently working on in the studio. It will contain brand-new materials

Chile’s Death Metal trio HALLUX VALGUS have released “Reflections Of Distant Dreams,” their first full-length, through Ex Nihilo Music and Burning Coffin Records. Ten tracks of unorthodox yet classic Death Metal is what you will find in “Reflections Of Distant Dreams,” the latest offering just unleashed by Chile’s Hallux Valgus. This new release is now available on CD by Ex Nihilo Music and tape by Burning Coffin Records.
The music was recorded between November and December 2019 at Sound Pro studios, while vocals were recorded during 2020. The mixing and mastering were carried out at Anti Play Rec. studios.
The conceptual plan is faithfully reflected in the cover art and the disc’s interior, which two Chilean artists share: José Triviño (exterior art) and Daniel Hermosilla (interior art).
Lyrics are inspired by a kind of surrealist and, at the same time, indigenous terror, typical of the rural and insular areas of southern Chile.
The current composition of the band -the same lineup that recorded the album -consists of Old Ripper on drums, Specter on vocals and Horrorhammer on guitars, bass and backing vocals.
The CD edition is limited to 500 copies, while the first run of 100 copies of the tape edition was released in late April this year and sold out in a few days. A second press of 100 additional copies is already available through Burning Coffin Records.
Tracklist:
1.- Ghastly Fascination. 2.- Murderous Instinct. 3.- Senseless Vanity. 4.- Hot Puke. 5.- Morbid Ways. 6.- From the Echoes of A Deadly Chest. 7.- Crawling Are the Dead. 8.- Disturbed Corpse. 9.- Atlas, the Hunt. 10.- Internal Cryptical Gathering.
Seattle multi-platinum rockers CANDLEBOX have released a new song called “In Your Hands” that honors victims of gun violence in the US. The song features fellow musicians Don Miggs and Zane Carney. Vocalist Kevin Martin says, “When people read the words ‘gun violence awareness,’ a lot of folks just see the word ‘gun’ and get up in arms about the government coming to try and take their firearms, as opposed to taking a step back to think about the reality of the situation.”
The video for “In Your Hands” pays tribute to people who have lost their lives from injuries inflicted by guns. Martin cites some sobering facts, pointing out the following: “There have been more than 19,000 deaths from gun violence in the US alone during 2021 so far, and the number has been staggering year after year- this phenomenon is clearly an epidemic, and it’s shocking to me that people aren’t willing to acknowledge that. While I am 100% supportive of the 2nd amendment, I am concerned about the amount of damage that can be done very quickly with one small instrument in the wrong hands.”
Miggs shares, “‘In Your Hands’ began as a riff that popped into my head one night at a party I was having. It came to me after a conversation about how out of hand the gun issue had become. Kevin spent the night and woke up to me insisting he get in my studio because I already tracked drums and the basics of the song. We needed to write the lyrics and have him sing it before he had to catch a plane back home.”
While Martin is fully supportive of gun ownership, he says, “We need responsible gun laws in place to help make this a reality. What I mean by ‘responsible gun laws’ is that for one, I’d like to see a national mandate in place so gun regulations don’t vary so much by state. I can’t believe it’s not a requirement for a prospective gun owner to take a course and pass a test, and become certified before being able to purchase a gun. We wouldn’t let people drive a car without a license because that would be dangerous. What makes guns any different?”

One archaeologist and 49 men stand at the gates of a previously unknown civilization, for a moment staring down into the bowels of the mountain before they begin their decent. The journey downwards turn out to be more dangerous than expected, they climb down through whirling stairs lit only by organic fluorescent lights.. Further down the path turns more and more crumbled, eventually they must use ropes to traverse the broken bridges and tunnels over the deep chasms below. Filled by the promise of treasure they continue downwards. Many men go missing as they’re tasked to explore diverting tunnels, they never return and their screams are followed by silence. the only thing found is their safety ropes, driven by greed the archaeologist continues the expedition.
Cavern Deeps debut concept album is about 50 adventurers that find the entrance to a lost underground civilization which they enter with the hopes of treasure.
1. Staring Down
The first song is about the ominous feeling whilst staring down the stairs.
“Staring down…. Into the deep”
Unknown symbols from a by gone by intelligence fills the walls of the staircase which never seem to end.
2. Abandoned Quarters
In this song the party finds the remnants of a lost city with abandoned spires and halls.
“To the levels below”
The ruins are filled with hatched eggs and signs of struggle. But no corpses… On the other side of the city the stairs continue into the depths.
3. Ominous Gardens
After leaving the city the party stumbles on a huge abandoned garden. Abandoned by the warden this underground garden is filled with acient deadly fauna. Many of the party members perish as the jungle takes its toll.
4. Waterways
Below the jungle lies the aqueducts that provided all of the water needed for the once prosperous civilization. It soon becomes obvious that they’re no longer alone.
“Searching… for the door”
The party soon gets lost in this maze, hope seems lost.
5. Leap of Faith
After many men had perished in the waterways, they finally find the door which leads out to a ledge. Before them lies an enormous gap, the chasm is so deep that the only thing they see is an endless darkness in the depths below. The darkness seem to have a life of its own…
6. Deeper Grounds
The depths of the leap swallowed its fair share of adventurers.
“Deeper…”
Less then half of the party left they realize that there no way out but down.
7. The Fungal Realm
Finally, the party arrives in a dark and damp large cavern. It’s full of a fungus which has a hive mind intent of consuming the minds of the adventurers.
“My mind is melting away”
Slowly the everyone but the leader of the expedition becomes a part of the fungus.
8. The Dark Place
The leader of the venture now alone enters a great dark room. On the other side of the room a dark and ancient entity lurks. The entity has lived in these caverns for a very long time, possible being the source of power of the ancient civilization.
“We are lost, Cavern Deep”
This old god of a forgotten time has waited for someone to take his place. As the lost adventurer tries to scream the god consumes him to take his place, finally released.
The art: All of the art is made by Kenny, the guitarist of the band.
WOLFHEART AND THE RAVENS is the new chapter of the gothic metal saga started by RAVENLAND, a band founded by Dewindson Wolfheart back in 1996. As RAVENLAND the group received international recognition, having their music played on radio stations worldwide, such as the BBC in London, United States and Japan, where they were featured in Osaka’s TransaRock compilation for being one of the most requested bands there. RAVENLAND’s first video, “End of Light“, was featured in several Brazilian networks, like Multishow, Play TV, Record, Rede TV, TV Cultura and MTV Brasil.
With RAVENLAND, Dewindson played hundreds of gigs, either as a headliner or alongside the likes of Moonspell, Tiamat, Nightwish, Theatre of Tragedy, Anneke van Giersbergen, and Danny Cavanagh. In all RAVENLAND released two albums, five EPs and two singles, besides being featured in compilations and tribute albums.
In 2015 Dewindson Wolfheart and Fábio Jhasko (ex-Sarcófago) recorded together “The Ravens“, for a tribute to Bathory, which resulted in a project called WOLFHEART AND THE RAVENS, which later, after lineup changes from RAVENLAND, became the band’s new name. To start this new chapter, they released the singles “Ravphenix – From Ashes“, “Inês – The Dead Queen“, and “Midnight“, besides appearing in a couple tribute albums and playing several gigs.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the quintet released videos, was featured in a My Dying Bride tribute and the soundtrack of director Marcos Debrito‘s new movie, “Almas Que Dançam na Escuridão” (“Souls that Dance in the Dark”). The new album, will feature special guests such as Tommy Lindal (ex-Theatre of Tragedy), Margriet Mol (Asrai), Fernando Ribeiro (Moonspell), Aaron Stainthorpe (My Dying Bride) and Skinny Kangur (Deathstars).
A sample of what is to come is available through the band’s new effort, “Gimme Your Blood” single. A video was shot for it and can be seen HERE.
