CANDLEBOX Release New Song “In Your Hands”

Seattle multi-platinum rockers CANDLEBOX have released a new song called “In Your Hands” that honors victims of gun violence in the US. The song features fellow musicians Don Miggs and Zane Carney. Vocalist Kevin Martin says, “When people read the words ‘gun violence awareness,’ a lot of folks just see the word ‘gun’ and get up in arms about the government coming to try and take their firearms, as opposed to taking a step back to think about the reality of the situation.”

The video for “In Your Hands” pays tribute to people who have lost their lives from injuries inflicted by guns. Martin cites some sobering facts, pointing out the following: “There have been more than 19,000 deaths from gun violence in the US alone during 2021 so far, and the number has been staggering year after year- this phenomenon is clearly an epidemic, and it’s shocking to me that people aren’t willing to acknowledge that. While I am 100% supportive of the 2nd amendment, I am concerned about the amount of damage that can be done very quickly with one small instrument in the wrong hands.”

Miggs shares, “‘In Your Hands’ began as a riff that popped into my head one night at a party I was having. It came to me after a conversation about how out of hand the gun issue had become. Kevin spent the night and woke up to me insisting he get in my studio because I already tracked drums and the basics of the song. We needed to write the lyrics and have him sing it before he had to catch a plane back home.”

While Martin is fully supportive of gun ownership, he says, “We need responsible gun laws in place to help make this a reality. What I mean by ‘responsible gun laws’ is that for one, I’d like to see a national mandate in place so gun regulations don’t vary so much by state. I can’t believe it’s not a requirement for a prospective gun owner to take a course and pass a test, and become certified before being able to purchase a gun. We wouldn’t let people drive a car without a license because that would be dangerous. What makes guns any different?”

Candlebox’s seventh studio album Wolves drops later this year on September 17, 2021, via Pavement Entertainment. Pre-save Wolves here: https://orcd.co/wolves

The band will embark on tour in August in support of the album, and the final two shows in Seattle will feature Candlebox’s original lineup.

The start of the expedition.

One archaeologist and 49 men stand at the gates of a previously unknown civilization,
for a moment staring down into the bowels of the mountain before they begin their decent.
The journey downwards turn out to be more dangerous than expected, they climb down through whirling stairs lit only by organic fluorescent lights..
Further down the path turns more and more crumbled, eventually they must use ropes to traverse the broken bridges and tunnels over the deep chasms below. Filled by the promise of treasure they continue downwards. Many men go missing as they’re tasked to explore diverting tunnels, they never return and their screams are followed by silence. the only thing found is their safety ropes, driven by greed the archaeologist continues the expedition.

Cavern Deeps debut concept album is about 50 adventurers that find the entrance to a lost underground civilization which they enter with the hopes of treasure.

1. Staring Down

The first song is about the ominous feeling whilst staring down the stairs.

“Staring down…. Into the deep”

Unknown symbols from a by gone by intelligence fills the walls of the staircase which never seem to end.

2. Abandoned Quarters

In this song the party finds the remnants of a lost city with abandoned spires and halls.

“To the levels below”

The ruins are filled with hatched eggs and signs of struggle. But no corpses… On the other side of the city the stairs continue into the depths.

3. Ominous Gardens

After leaving the city the party stumbles on a huge abandoned garden. Abandoned by the warden this underground garden is filled with acient deadly fauna. Many of the party members perish as the jungle takes its toll.

4. Waterways

Below the jungle lies the aqueducts that provided all of the water needed for the once prosperous civilization. It soon becomes obvious that they’re no longer alone.

“Searching… for the door”

The party soon gets lost in this maze, hope seems lost.

5. Leap of Faith

After many men had perished in the waterways, they finally find the door which leads out to a ledge. Before them lies an enormous gap, the chasm is so deep that the only thing they see is an endless darkness in the depths below. The darkness seem to have a life of its own…

6. Deeper Grounds

The depths of the leap swallowed its fair share of adventurers.

“Deeper…”

Less then half of the party left they realize that there no way out but down.

7. The Fungal Realm

Finally, the party arrives in a dark and damp large cavern. It’s full of a fungus which has a hive mind intent of consuming the minds of the adventurers.

“My mind is melting away”

Slowly the everyone but the leader of the expedition becomes a part of the fungus.

8. The Dark Place

The leader of the venture now alone enters a great dark room. On the other side of the room a dark and ancient entity lurks. The entity has lived in these caverns for a very long time, possible being the source of power of the ancient civilization.

“We are lost, Cavern Deep”

This old god of a forgotten time has waited for someone to take his place. As the lost adventurer tries to scream the god consumes him to take his place, finally released.

WRITING THE FUTURE have released their new single + music video for ‘Broken Heart’.

“You know the feeling of helplessness, the feeling of not being enough. This is not a regular song written with emotions. This is our honest feelings and emotions. Some things that happen in our life are problems we can’t solve we just need to struggle through. And some of these emotions and feelings leave us with a broken heart. This is a story about something that broke my heart and I couldn’t do anything about it.” //Writing The Future

Watch below their new video ‘Broken Heart’.

Writing The Future, mentioned as “Best Metalcore band” 2 years in a row by Close Up Magazine, has since the start in 2013 released 1 album and 3 Eps on their own alongside with executing several tours supporting Her Bright Skies, Corroded, Lillasyster etc.. and performed at some of Sweden’s biggest festivals. The band teamed up with GAIN/Fifth Island Music for their second album where the emphasis lies in their pride to stand up for themselves and fight for the mutual goals between them and their fans and followers. Expect to relate if you ever been bullied, abused, depressed or if you have opinions on religion, climate or world health. Writing The Future’s next album is by far the best the band will release so far and is boldly pointing out all of our everyday problems.

BAND OF BASTARDS Debut New Track/Video “Holy Roller”

Austin TX’s ragging hardcore collective BAND OF BASTARDS have unveiled another new track today from their volatile debut album, DELETE. REPEAT., that’s out July 23rd from Redacted Records/SilverDoor Music. The song, titled “Holy Roller,” exorcises the demons with a punk rock molotov cocktail of angst and fury, and is one of a string of ripping tracks released in the past few weeks; all streaming now at the links below.

Commenting on “Holy Roller,” guitarist Andrew Leeper says:

“Texas is home to some of the largest megachurches in the country. They also happen to be massive tax-exempt multimillion dollar corporations. This song is inspired by the way megachurches are open for business 24-7 but conveniently close their doors once a crisis arises.”

Stream “Can’t Ya Crawl”: https://youtu.be/cd5UJBgPIPE

BAND OF BASTARDS is a hardcore punk band, by lifers for lifers. After decades in the Austin underground and a rap sheet of current and former bands a mile long (…And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, Sparta, Markov, Black Books, We’ll Go Machete, Glass Shadows) these Austin music scene vets form a tight, locked-in wrecking crew.

Fast, loud and to the point, the 12 songs on DELETE. REPEAT. rip by in under 30 minutes. Recorded by Charles Godfrey of Scary American Recordings (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Swans, Black Angels, Cannibal Corpse) the record captures the raw intensity and immediacy of the BASTARDS slugging it out in a grimey, all-ages club.

With roots in early American hardcore, BAND OF BASTARDS manages to evolve that sound into something new. It’s chaotic, it’s relentless and it’s righteously pissed.

DELETE. REPEAT. Tracklisting:
1. Ruined
2. Prospect
3. False Idols
4. Division
5. Holly Roller
6. Dying In The Streets
7. Let Me Out
8. Raising Satanic Children
9. Can’t Ya Crawl
10. Stand
