Old school death metallers NEFARIYM are set to release their debut album Morbid Delusions on September 24th 2021 via Inverse Records. The band was formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2019 by Mark Kelson & Richie Poate, both of the melodic doom band The Eternal. What started as an idea to pay homage to the golden era of early 90’s death metal formed in a fully fledged band and the crushing album ‘Morbid Delusions’ was forged.

Second single Succubus is released today and Mark Kelson comments: “The downfall of man is the female demon whose sexual prowess renders the man powerless Strength turns to weakness as the succubus consumes the soul, removing the will to live. Beware the succubus and her evil intentions.”

GOST Releases Video For ‘Bound by the Horror’

Check out “’Bound by the Horror”, the brand-new video and track that GOST released taken from “Rites of Love and Reverence”, that is due for a release on August, Friday 13th. Join the coven and be “’Bound by the Horror”.

GOST comments: “’Bound by the Horror’ started the writing process for ‘Rites of Love and Reverence’.  I wanted a heavy baseline to really start things off for this record and ‘Bound by the Horror’ is the result.  ‘Bound by the Horror’ refers to how I started feeling boxed in creatively.  One of my favourites from the new album and a kind of goodbye to limiting expectations.”

“Rites of Love and Reverence” is both an album of beautifully crafted songs and a fascinating and intuitively gothic journey, rich with thoughts of supernatural wickedness and real world retribution.

“The lyrics were inspired by witchcraft themes,” says the man himself. “It’s mainly about how witchcraft has affected women throughout history. Witch trials and the subsequent executions throughout the ages terrify me. I fear, as a society, we are always on the verge of such horrible psychosis based on the misunderstanding and intolerance of one another. I try to educate myself on any historical subject I use as an influence, out of respect for the real people who actually lived through it.”

In keeping with its dark theme, “Rites of Love and Reverence” arrives adorned with the most stunning image GOST has used to date, created by celebrated doyen of macabre art, Nona Limmen. Both eerily psychedelic and hazily mysterious, it’s the perfect visual representation of this extraordinary record’s grim but vivid depths.

The perfect soundtrack to these uncertain and frequently horrifying times, “Rites of Love and Reverence” renders GOST’s post-synthwave exploits in kaleidoscopic technicolor, delivering all the glass-shattering grit, incisive melodic melancholy and tripped-out, electronic fervour that his ever-expanding army of admirers demand.

In the past GOST has become renowned as a potent and idiosyncratic live act. Over the last few years he has shared stages with Perturbator, 3TEETH, Mayhem, Carpenter Brut, Power Trip, The Black Dahlia Murder, Midnight, Pig Destroyer and many more, while several headline tours of North America and Europe have further consolidated that already robust reputation.

ENDSEEKER Launch New Video for “Bloodline”

This past April, ENDSEEKER released their new full-length, Mount Carcass, via Metal Blade Records – which debuted at #22 on the German charts! Today, the band has launched a video for the album track, “Bloodline”, which can be viewed below.

Endseeker comments: “With the video for this absolute headbanger, we wanted to go all the way back to the roots and shoot the clip all by ourselves in our rehearsal space. No budget, no crew, just the five of us like we used to do it back in the days when we started the band. Pure and raw, just like the song.”

Having become one of the premier German death metal bands – and rapidly rising the ranks of the genre as a whole – Endseeker storm back into the fray with Mount Carcass. Building on the groundwork laid down on 2017’s Flesh Hammer Prophecy and having the difficult task of besting 2019’s stunning The Harvest, they have returned with a streamlined, powerful collection that further raises the bar.

Like both of its predecessors, Mount Carcass was recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Eike Freese at Chameleon Studios in Hamburg, Germany. Going into the record, Endseeker knew they wanted something rawer and more organic than The Harvest, and while Covid was causing global havoc, the band embraced the time they would have otherwise spent touring, using it to rehearse and discuss what they wanted the record to be. From this process they knew they wanted the songs to be quite straightforward and even have something of a “punkish / crust feel, so to speak. The songs are pretty reduced to the core with all the ballast removed. Every part and every riff has a meaning and isn’t just there for no other reason than extending the song. The album is also very melodic. There are a bunch of very strong guitar hooks and vocal compositions that really stick in your ears for days. It’s way simpler and probably more easy to listen to compared to ‘The Harvest‘ or ‘Flesh Hammer Prophecy‘, but at the same time, it has a very spontaneous and lively attitude with a big chunk of personality.” To keep the genre sounding fresh in 2021, they focused on the production, having just a touch of the old school vibe to remain rooted, and they did not limit themselves too hard to the Swedish death metal style of songwriting they previously embraced, but also let other influences into their songs. “You can hear all kinds of stuff that is inspired by bands like Morbid Angel, Bolt Thrower, Slayer, Dissection, Gorefest, etc. We listen to so many different bands, and somehow, a bit from all of this keeps adding to our music.”

The sophomore album of Swedish black metallers BURNING DARKNESS, is finally released via Non Serviam Records. Listen to “Dödens Makt” HERE.

The band has just unveiled the official video for the third single “In The Shadow Of Webbed Wings”, featuring very ominous and dark melodies.

“Dödens Makt” is available as digipak CD and digital: Webshop – Bandcamp

“Fans of 90’s black metal will love it. We at Burning Darkness don’t concern ourselves with current trends. We play the type of music we love. Still not rigidly stuck in one spot, we musically take inspiration from other genres of metal and beyond. The new album has more variation than our debut. While it goes mostly quite fast, we’ve added slower and heavy as led parts as well. Rawness is balanced with atmosphere. On this album I wrote all the lyrics. I tried to keep the in the same vein as his. Discussing themes of death and anti-Christianity. I also added heathenry and folklore elements. There’s horror and ancient evil awakening. This is the subjects that interest me so that’s what I wrote. Just listen to the music over and over and try to manifest what the music makes me see into words”, explains the frontman Per Kolderup Finstad.
