Norwegian death metal pioneers CADAVER are proud to announce that they have been confirmed as special guests for the legendary MAYHEM’s “Northern Ritual MMXXI” tour throughout Norway, which will take place in November/December 2021. In addition, CADAVER will play at Inferno Festival’s THE INFERNAL RESURRECTION Fest at Sentrum Scene, Oslo (NO), alongside IHSAHN and TULUS this Thursday, June 17th. In early 2022 they will finally be able to play outside of Norway again, joining ATHEIST and SVART CROWN on a full European crusade under the banner “Enthralled In Europe 2022“.

CADAVER’s Anders Odden comments on the MAYHEM tour:
“Mayhem taught me everything I know about extreme metal from 1986 onwards. Without them I would not have formed my own extreme metal band and gone the way I did in my career. Now, 35 years later, it’s a huge honor to join forces with them when we will take back the stages in our homeland after the apocalypse. Hail to the legions of Mayhem, see you in the darkness.“

CADAVER was one of the first death metal bands from Norway. After several demo tapes between 1988 and 1990, the band released their debut album “Hallucinating Anxiety” in 1990. Often considered has the very first Norwegian death metal album. Two years later they followed up with “…in Pains” before the split-up in 1993. In 1999 founding member Anders Odden (Order, ex Celtic Frost, Satyricon) brought the band back to life under the name Cadaver Inc. After a few years the band changed their name back to CADAVER before they disbanded again. CADAVER is now back and they released the brutal new album “Edder & Bile” in 2020 via NUCLEAR BLAST. Norwegian death metal at its best!

DEATHWHITE Enter Studio to Record Third Full-Length ‘Grey Everlasting’

Enigmatic dark metal outfit DEATHWHITE have entered Cerebral Audio Productions with producer/engineer Shane Mayer to track their third full-length album, ‘Grey Everlasting!’

Comments the band: “It is our pleasure to share we are in the throes of recording our third album, ‘Grey Everlasting.’ We have opted for continuity between studio albums: The same people responsible for bringing ‘Grave Image’ to life will do the same for ‘Grey Everlasting.’ This includes the esteemed Mr. Mayer, who, in his third studio go-round with us, is more invaluable than ever. We will be tracking vocals in July at Mana Recording in Saint Petersburg, Florida, under the supervision of Art Paiz. Mastering duties will fall onto the legendary Dan Swanö (BLOODBATH, EDGE OF SANITY). And, lastly, the artwork will be handled by Jérôme Comentale, who has created our prior three albums covers.

“While we have assembled a familiar cast of characters, ‘Grey Everlasting,’ to our ears, is by no means a rehash of ‘Grave Image.’ We have introduced some new elements, some of which can be described as ‘extreme.’ The songs are also doomier and more atmospheric in their approach while retaining our core stylistic traits. We did the bulk of the songwriting during the pandemic’s darkest and most isolating moments. It is our belief such feelings resonate throughout the album’s 11 songs. In the meantime, we greatly look forward to sharing them with you and wish everyone continued safety.”

‘Grey Everlasting’ will follow up 2020’s critically-acclaimed ‘Grave Image,’ which was named one of the best metal albums of 2020 by Bravewords, Heavy New York, Dead Rhetoric, A&P Reacts, Teeth of the Divine, and Pandemonium TV.

‘Grave Image’ can be streamed/downloaded/ordered at THIS LOCATION.

Filmmaker + Godfather of Finnish Heavy Metal KIMMO KUUSNIEMI Talks About SARCOFAGUS, His New Project ANCIENT STREAMING ASSEMBLY + Many More

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 14, 2021

Just recently Luxi Lahtinen from The Metal Crypt conducted an in-depth interview with the Finnish Filmmaker + Godfather of Finnish Heavy Metal KIMMO KUUSNIEMI, talking about Sarcofagus, Kimmo’s new project Ancient Streaming Assembly, revealing the first-ever time many interesting details. Among other topics, Kimmo and Luxi talked about the current world situation and how and why Kimmo’s new Split Screen Management got started.

“Kimmo Kuusniemi, who’s always been the heart and soul of the band, is far from being completely retired from making new music. In fact, as it is said when one thing comes to an end, often it’s the start of something new.”

Read below some excerpts of the interview:

“Time to change course and listen to my inner voice. This new project has been on my mind for a long time and now it has been my main project for the past year.”

“One thing people don’t really know is that heavy metal is just part of my musical background. I also listen to progressive, jazz, experimental music. All kinds of things that are already in Sarcofagus but also still very strongly present in me.”

“The new project I’m working on now has no lyrics at all. The main idea is that the vocals are used as an instrument. There are messages, but they are in the songs and in the videos and in the atmospheric things that we have made. That’s the thing. The new project is going back to the old sagas and the stories from the past. Yes, it’s different. I’m trying to tell the stories with the music, not the lyrics, so that’s kind of different.”

“One of the greatest compliments for an artist is that you have created something that you will be remembered for. I am actually very honored to be called the Godfather of Finnish Metal. Yeah! I think that is super cool!”

“The project Ancient Streaming Assembly (ASA)… is a collective cross-arts project. The idea of cross-arts is understood only from the very piece of art itself as it comes to life. It is defined by the moment artists in collaboration cross their own discipline borders to make art that is vibrant, alive, and speaks to an audience, small or large. ASA is unravelling the ancient myths and legends of the world. These epic stories were songs first, so the music has always played a fundamental part in them.”

Talking about Split Screen Management…
“The music business is full of crooks so what we are trying to do is to create a fair and just service that will help bands to prosper. All of us have a very long history of working in the entertainment business. So, besides the general management, we can help bands to avoid repeating the same old mistakes.”

“COVID-19 has been just horrendous for everyone and especially bad for the entertainment industry. A bad thing can also be a good thing.”

“The bad thing was that COVID-19 ruined everything I had been working for. The good thing was that it made me rethink my life and as a result I now have a new music project well underway, and I met great people to start up a management business.”

“I hope that other people might also be looking at their lives to re-evaluate what is actually important.”

FORE Release Video For New Single “Repeated Subtraction”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 14, 2021
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: FORE. Leave a comment

We live in a world filled with metal bands, so enter: FORE.  Formed last spring and featuring current and former members of KREATOR, VENOM INC, INHUMAN CONDITION, OLD JAMES, and THE ABSENCE, the quartet self-released their first album “Hombres” in August of 2020.  The band’s 12-song, 22-minute debut album brought back the sounds of 80s/early 90s hardcore, nodding to bands like Bad Religion, The Offspring, NOFX, and Pennywise in 12 songs, totalling 22 minutes.

Today, the band releases a brand new song called “Repeated Subtraction”, with an accompanying music video, which can be viewed below.  The video was filmed, directed and edited by Matthias Kollek at Vault Video, with additional footage filmed by Jeramie & Deidra Kling.

“We are so excited to begin the second chapter in FORE’s history!  This tune gets pretty vicious, but it has an insanely catchy, and soothing vocal done by the ever-talented Brian “The Canadian Glenn Hughes” Stephenson!  He wrote some killer/clever lyrics, which are super relevant to today’s bizarre world we live in, and Matthias killed it on the visual end of things!” guitarist Nordberg said.
