HATE ETERNAL shredder Erik Rutan has teamed up with Sheet Happens Publishing to deliver the complete guitar transcription of ten HATE ETERNAL songs! “Best of Hate Eternal Vol. 1” is out NOW. The 162 page tab book spans across all of the band’s releases. This book comes with a copy of the ‘print-ready’ PDF e-book AND The Complete Guitar Pro 7 files for the entire album.

The full list of songs featured is as follows:

Tracklisting:
1. All Hope Destroyed
2. Behold Judas
3. Bringer of Storms
4. Catacombs
5. I, Monarch
6. Phoenix Amongst the Ashes
7. Powers That Be

Rutan comments, “The day is finally upon us for the release of the first ever Official Hate Eternal Guitar Tab Book entitled Hate Eternal ‘Best Of Vol I’ on Sheet Happens Publishing. I am absolutely ecstatic to release this into the universe! With the guidance of Luke Hoskin and everyone at the fantastic Sheet Happens Publishing, along with the tremendous help of the super talented Evan Bradley working with me and transcribing, we have put together this fabulous book that comes in multiple formats. This will enable and allow guitarists to be able to fully grasp and learn Hate Eternal riffs and songs the way they were written and intended to be played.”

He adds, “Having recorded seven studio albums with Hate Eternal thus far it was quite a challenge to choose 10 songs for this first book and achieve. I really wanted it to cover a lot of our catalog as well as songs that really encompass my playing and composing style as a rhythm and lead guitarist and songwriter. These 10 songs represent a lot of the creative feel and unique style and techniques that have been crafted for well over 30 years. I look forward to doing more tablature books in the future to cover even more of the Hate Eternal landscape.”

“I am so thankful to everyone who is and has been a part of Hate Eternal and grateful to all the people who have helped, contributed and supported us to become what we are today. I could not be more excited to know for the first time ever, people truly will have a unique insight into the complexities, the range and depth of emotion and insanity of what is the musical legacy of Hate Eternal. Gratitude!”

Recently, HATE ETERNAL has also released an entirely instrumental version of 2018’s ‘Upon Desolate Sands!’ The record is available now via the official Hate Eternal Bandcamp at THIS LOCATION.

Last year, Rutan shared his first ever guitar play-through video for the track “All Hope Destroyed.” The video, which was filmed by guitarist Keith Merrow, can be found at THIS LOCATION.

Following their critically acclaimed “The Dawn Of Vitriol” EP (2020), MERCURY CIRCLE have shared a brand new song from their upcoming and highly anticipated debut album, “Killing Moons”, which is slated for release on October 8, 2021 via Noble Demon!

Born as a brainchild in 2018 by ICONCRASH‘s and SWALLOW THE SUN’s Jaani Peuhu, and featuring members of CHILDREN OF BODOM, SLEEP OF MONSTERS & more, MERCURY CIRCLE create a diverse blend of dark rock infused with electrifying synth wave and slow, epic doom. On their upcoming full-length album, MERCURY CIRCLE unleash ten enthralling tracks, which differ wildly in expression and sonic aesthetics. “Killing Moons” is a deeply powerful and majestic piece of music – truly representing a genre of its own – and one that will take the listener on an all-absorbing trip into yet unimaginable spheres.

After the previously released first single, “You Open Up The Earth”, MERCURY CIRCLE have shared a brand new video clip for the goth rock opus “Black Mirrors“ today! Watch the video here:

“John Dee (13 July 1527 – 1608 or 1609) was an Anglo-Welsh mathematician, astronomer, astrologer, teacher, occultist, and alchemist. He was the court astronomer for, and advisor to, Elizabeth I, and spent much of his time on alchemy, divination and Hermetic philosophy,” band mastermind Jaani Peuhu reveals. “The lyrics for Black Mirrors are a mixture of matters of the heart and occultism. In the beginning we hear a prophecy from Nostradamus before plunging into a dark and delusional world – a place for the abandoned heart, where light is reflected from John Dee’s black mirror. Musically it’s more in vein of goth rock than doom metal. When writing the song I envisioned how Queen with a goth rock twist would sound. I’m a fan of big choruses and 80’s goth beats. Add a little bit of spiderwebs and whispers in French and you’re good to go!“

Tracklist:

  1. The Gates Wide Open
  2. Black Mirrors
  3. You Open Up The Earth
  4. Killing Moons
  5. Seven Archangels
  6. Call On The Dark
  7. Avalanche
  8. An Arrow
  9. Like Matches
  10. Death Poem

“Killing Moons” will be coming out on October 8th through Noble Demon and is now available for pre-order HERE

MORDRED Release New Video ‘Malignancy’

Genre breaking San Francisco groove/funk thrashers MORDRED release their first new full length album, ‘The Dark Parade’, in over 25 years, and it’s every bit as good as expected from this unique band.

Set to be released by M-Theory Audio on July 23rd, the record – which will be offered on CD, digital, cassette, blue vinyl with orange splatter and a limited-edition, mail-order exclusive white vinyl variant – can be pre-ordered now at smarturl.com/mordred

Check out the new video for Malignancy here:

Outside of their 2015 single “The Baroness,” “Volition” – which is available for purchase at https://m-theoryaudio.com/store  – marked the first new MORDRED music since the band’s 2013 reunion. The four songs on that effort saw the group return to the scene with a revitalized energy and successfully recapture their classic sound, which is rooted in thrash metal but veers off the straightforward path for more adventurous musical explorations by utilizing funk-infused musicianship and hip-hop influences. “The Dark Parade” is the continuation of the aural momentum that MORDRED regained on “Volition” and showcases a band that sounds as fresh now as they did during their initial decade of existence.

MORDRED was formed in 1984 as the burgeoning Bay Area thrash scene was beginning its rise to global prominence. While mosh-inducing thrash formed the basic blueprint of their sound, MORDRED stood out as a unique presence thanks to their integration of alternative and hip-hop influences. The group was one of the first Bay Area bands to explore those diversities in extremes, but as the dexterous bass performance of Art Liboon and innovative turntable work from band collaborator Aaron “DJ Pause” Vaughn provided a new spin on the thrash metal genre, MORDRED retained their metallic bark thanks to groove-laden shred from guitarists Danny White and James Sanguinetti and energetic shout-along choruses spearheaded by vocalist Scott Holderby. That combination of thrash metal and exploratory funk powered three full-lengths and an EP on Noise Records between 1989 and 1994: their revered debut “Fool’s Game”; their eclectic sophomore follow-up “In This Life”; the “Vision” EP and their final – until now – record, “The Next Room.”

In addition to spending their 2020 releasing “Volition” and putting the finishing touches on “The Dark Parade,” MORDRED also entertained audiences throughout the year with their streaming variety show and concert series, “MORDRED: Acting The Fool!” Episodes from the series, which includes live performances by the band, guest appearances, burlesque performances, along with a healthy dose of sketch comedy and short films, can be viewed  at https://www.youtube.com/mordredband/.

With their highly acclaimed, 2016- debut album, Hipster Fister, GOATFATHER quickly took the heavy rock scene by storm, and shared the stages with acts alike STONED JESUS, MARS RED SKY or PLANET OF ZEUS to name just a few. Their filthy blend of high-voltage, heavy and powerful stoner rock takes you on a wild ride, and GOATFATHER’s new album will show no signs of slowing down on that trip: Fasten your seatbelts, as a Monster Truck is about to roll over your stereo!

We play heavy fuckin’ hipster fistin’ stoner rock n’roll since 2014. And wether you like it or not, every single song we’ll play will just be like a fist in your face!”

“They not only have a top notch sounding album, they also have that kind of attitude that I dig when it comes to understand that from now on we will work as a team.” Argonauta Records’ owner Gero Lucisano adds. “Do not expect GOATFATHER being just a band with a massive wall of groovy songs, yet also a bunch of guys with attitude and the need to shout their strength to the whole world. JASON PAYNE & THE BLACK LEATHER RIDERS Release Official Live Performance Video For New Single ‘The Dark’

May 20th, London based metallers JASON PAYNE & THE BLACK LEATHER RIDERS performed live their new single ‘The Dark’ at Under The Bridge (Chelsea Football Stadium). The band has posted the official live video on their YouTube channel, watch it here:

‘The Dark’ single was released on June 4th, and it’s taken from the band’s debut EP – ‘The Abyss’ coming out 16th July 2021.

Also watch ‘The Dark’ official video, here: https://youtu.be/TIENdwGGGgw
or via VEVO: https://youtu.be/WqONzeGUCtY

Jason Payne on ‘The Dark’:
“Starting this new chapter of my artistic life is a dream come true for me. “The Dark” is a perfect starter to showcase the artistic direction of this project, and it’s a pleasure to finally release this track. I couldn’t be happier with the result – I believe this EP and this specific track is one of our best works so far. I’ve always been interested in philosophy, and this song really showcases my interest in that field, our
cohesion and friendship as a band, our image and our sound. I feel good about our chances of building a long-lasting career with Jason Payne & The Black Leather Riders, and I know that this is the beginning of our long journey in the music industry.”

On the single artwork Jason adds:
“Created by the incredible Gustavo Sazes, the artwork captures the feel of the single; Death, obscurity and the “nothing”. The single talks of things like trying to reach to the void, feeling confused and betrayed, and about a person that’s losing his essence. Without a consciousness, and with no purpose in our lives, we’re just a bunch of roamers taking a road to the abyss, and that leads us to the dark and lashes us to insignificant beings floating in “the nothing”.“

Read what Jason has to say of their upcoming 6-tracks EP “The Abyss”:
“The Dark is a song that sums up the theme of this EP, “The Abyss”. It’s about death, obscurity and the “nothing”. It talks of things like trying to reach to the void, feeling confused and betrayed, and about a person that’s losing his essence. Without a consciousness, and with no purpose in our lives, we’re just a bunch of roamers taking a road to the abyss, and that leads us to the dark and lashes us to insignificant beings floating in “the nothing”.
When I was writing this EP, I got affected by the outside world. It’s a dark period that we’re living. I caught the essence and the feelings that this time put me through and made a whole EP about existentialism and nihilism. This period made me question who am I, what’s my purpose, what have I done with my life and what if this all ends now? Would it matter? Do we matter? Does life matters? Of course, it does! In my opinion, there’s no point of doing anything or living if this doesn’t matter. However, when I wrote this EP, I don’t give you the bright side of the story. That’s for the fans to find out. My whole point with this work is to make people question their lives and feel these emotions. This record means so much to me, since it’s about everything I felt and still feel. I’m a person who never stops asking questions. I always want to know more. Specially, when it comes to existentialism, I’m always in internal conflict, since I question everything. This is my message, this is my music and it’s about how I feel, and hopefully, people will relate to it.”

Stay tuned for more details.

JASON PAYNE & THE BLACK LEATHER RIDERS will play the all-day hard-hitting show at Camden Rocks on July 10th, alongside Reverted, Rival Karma, Janus Stark, Bleeding Antlers, Star Circus, Thousand Thoughts, Season of Ghosts, The Blood Republic, Tales of Perdition and Red Light Acid Test at The Black Heart! Tickets – http://camdenrocks.seetickets.com. Facebook Event page – https://www.facebook.com/events/284750256692240.

Jason stated:
“It has been too long since I’ve played a show. We’re so excited to be back on stage! I know it’s gonna be a great moment for us and for the fans!”

With a history boasting over 300,000 streams, 50 live shows and a modest lifetime of musical creation with past acts, London based metal artist Jason Payne has taken 2020 to embark on a new journey; JASON PAYNE & THE BLACK LEATHER RIDERS. A culmination and reincarnation of his strongest rock compositions, with numerous releases ready and waiting taking influence from the likes of Slash, Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, Korn, and many other legendary over the years. Think big riffs, impactful grit-laden vocals, and an energy just screaming to be invited to the live stage.
